This intimate dining experience is a testament to ingredient-driven, technique-forward cooking, where flavors are both restrained, unpretentious, and deeply expressive. From the first bite, it was clear that Heritage excels at layering textures and flavors in unexpected ways. The meal began with an Amuse Bouche trio: a delicate prawn cracker topped with sweet Dungeness crab, a green leaf with another seafood salad that was to be eaten like a mini street taco, and balanced with the brightness and light crunch of pickled turnip. A seemingly simple couple of bites, but one that foreshadowed the precision and thoughtfulness of the courses to follow. To cleanse the palate, a mint tea infused with palo santo was served—a meditative interlude that was both refreshing and aromatic, setting the stage for the evening’s journey. The first official course, Crème Caviar, featured Russian Sturgeon Heritage Caviar and chive, a chilled preparation that was rich yet elegantly restrained. This was followed by Kanpachi Crudo, presented with carrot, ginger, and macédoine vegetables, offering a balance of clean ocean flavors against bright, vegetal undertones. Then came what I consider the star of the evening: a dish that fully captured the ethos of Heritage—Hen of the Woods Mushroom, topped in a “sunchoke stew” (crispy fried sunchoke) with fermented mushroom. For an additional $25, an indulgent shaving of black truffle took the dish to another level, transforming it into a sensory experience that evoked the deep, earthy satisfaction of foraging. The interplay of umami-rich elements made this course a masterpiece of textural and flavor contrast. The proteins that followed were executed with equal care. First, a perfectly prepared Rainbow Trout, sauted to perfection with a crispy layer of skin on one side, delicate pink flesh on the other, bathed in a delicate dashi and punctuated with bursts of smoked trout roe in a light creme sauce, which lent salinity and depth. Then, a 32-day dry-aged rib chop, a cut that can sometimes lean too “gamey” in the tradiinal steak house that cuts corners on a post aging trim, yet here was a revelation—tender, deeply beefy, but balanced. Accompanying the dish was sous vide endive, black garlic, and a shaving of Parmesan, which surprisingly lacked the usual sharpness, instead presenting a more rounded, delicate, nutty flavor. Desserts were a study in technique and balance. The first, a Grilled Strawberry with strawberry granita and Meyer lemon crème, was bright and refreshing, its layers revealing different expressions of cool and sweetness. Then came the Coco Craquelin, a delicate choux pastry filled with beurre noisette ganache and banana cremeux, meant to be eaten with the hands—a playful and interactive moment in the meal. Finally, a Sage Basque Cake, its subtle herbaceousness complemented by toasted hemp seeds and lemon curd, provided a grounding, crispy finish. Heritage is the kind of restaurant that doesn’t simply chase trends—it refines them into something personal, something intentional. The execution is confident but never showy, and the experience is paced with precision, allowing each dish to tell its own story. This is not just a meal—it’s a quiet, profound meditation on flavor, technique, and the land from which it all comes. Where other restaurant profess to be a true “Californian” style farm to table experience , Heritage is, without a doubt, a must-visit for anyone who seeks out truly exceptional dining in California.”

We had the Shroomday Button (Oyster and Maitake Mushrooms/ White Wine Braised Leeks / Truffle Cheese / house stretched mozzarella / shredded mozz / parsley / post oven of lemon zest. *We love to add Hobbs Sausage*). I added that delicious sausage and loved that pizza! We also had the Bloomsdale (garlicky bloomsdale spinach / hand stretched mozzarella / shredded mozzarella /pecorino / smoked ricotta / gaeta olive / za’atar / feta salsa verde)... and YUM! And we decided to try the Garden of Farms Little Gem Caesar Salad (little gems / kewpie caesar dressing / pizza croutons / anchovies / Ribbons of Fiscalini Gold / soft cooked egg). Again, tasty, tasty, tasty. Speak Cheezy sure seems to use high-end products in the creation of their pizzas and salads. Everything was top notch. That salad was so yummy with that incredible salad dressing and the jammy soft cooked egg. I want another one to eat with my lovely pizza leftovers. :)”

“This was my first time here, and honestly, I’ve been to almost every Turkish restaurant across the America, I can easily put this one at the very top. The menu is huge, the place is spotless and well organized, and the design is modern and stylish. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, with generous and filling portions.

The highlight of our visit was Sefkan, the staff member who took care of us. He treated us with genuine hospitality and made us feel truly welcome just like a real host should.

Right next door, there’s also a dessert shop where you can find all the classic Turkish sweets and ice cream. Their desserts and ice cream were outstanding as well.

“Love the people and food sold here are unsurpassed. When they opened there was a sign that explained the pricing reflected and living wage and that the tip was built in to the menu prices. (Most expensive spot for a cap and munchie) then one day a tip line appeared at check out. What?!? I thought it was part of the high price?? Needless to say not tipping puts me in an awkward situation - If I don’t tip is it because I don’t appreciate their cheerful competence? If I add it in now I’m at $16 for a coffee and roll…. “We return frequently! The food is delicious and ambiance consistent. It does get VERY crowded but you need to know the right times to go. I love being able to reserve a table online. The spiciness is a bit inconsistent but it's always so so flavorful.”

“We had a wonderful experience. This is a beautiful restaurant on the water. The service and the food were both excellent. I had the lobster tail and I think it was grilled. It tasted great! My husband had the macadamia nut encrusted fish, and it was a very large piece of fish. We will definitely be going back!”

Staff is always friendly, explain anything you may have a question on. Service is fast and the food is always on point.

Took my husband here as he has never been he ate all of the food I posted on this post, and hes very very picky.

The food is great, we weren’t a fan of the mac and cheese it wasn’t bad it just wasn’t a fan favorite of ours.

Great job, this is my favorite location it is downtown LBC by the queen Mary.

Chicken is juicy, tasty, succulent and crunchy! The cornbread, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, was great. The hot sauce is great, we even bought one to go. The lemonade is freshly squeezed and tasty.

“It’s not really great for gluten free but that’s normal for coffee shops. I like the steamers: hot milk of your choice with a syrup of your choice. It was perfect to warm up with after a long day. The music plays softly in the background and you can have a conversation easily. They also use Joshua Tree Coffee which is a great coffee. Service was helpful and polite.”

We also got an apple Danish which, wish it was warmed and maybe had a sprinkle of cinnamon on the top but it was still good for a light snack. “The food is amazing, with a wide variety of pizzas, meats, desserts, and vegetables. There are also plenty of healthy and vegan options.
Breakfast is outstanding, offering sausages, scrambled eggs (plain or with vegetables), and incredible waffles. There’s also a great selection of beverages and coffees.
The atmosphere is very chill and calm, with fast service and gentle, friendly staff.
For lunch and donner I highly recommend the chicken breast, tater tots, marinara pasta with meatballs, cookies, and cakes (everything when available). The pizza is tasty and comes in both cheese and pepperoni varieties.
The veggie burger and the caramel macchiato, available at breakfast, are spectacular. The burritos are fabulous as well.”

I also have to say they have great prices for the amount and quality of food you get. Only draw back is that it's cash only but definitely worth going to the arm for.”
