“Favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Food is fresh and delicious, seasoning is perfect, and I always really appreciate the kind service. We usually get takeout, but the restaurant itself is very nice. The MuShu Chicken is my personal favorite, my husband loves the Mongolian Beef. Every soup is delicious. You can't really go wrong here.“

The best jianbing I've had outside of China. Crispy and not too salty. My wife said it's authentic Tianjin style.

The soy milk was amazing! Very smooth and slightly sweet even though it wasn't sweetened. No burnt taste.

“Such a special gem of a place! Perfect for group dinners too (make reservations!)- we celebrated the lunar new year with a vegan Chinese new year dinner here in their cozy dining room with such good vibes, and unique authentic dishes like lotus root and lychee in the sweet & sour seitan dish 🤯

It’s big enough to have a large group table (we had 12) and quiet enough to feel like you’re all celebrating together. This is very hard to find in the bay!

“Ben Ben Hot Pot was the coziest hot spot experience I've had. I ordered the ox tail broth. It came with tender oxtail meat. There was a generous variety of ingredients to add and open access to tea and drinks. Our waitress knew just when to offer more broth and meats. The music was calm and the ascetic was clean and cozy. Great value at a low price, I will defiently be back !“

“I love their beef noodles! And the meat is not too bad - not chewy/fatty. Could use extra veggies or add a little more but otherwise it's ok. The morning silog are great! My daughter loves bangus so she orders bangus silog. We can't order bangus anywhere else (main stream restaurant) so this a treat for her. Breakfast has limited time so make sure to get there before it ends. My daughter and I order sesame balls to take home and eats halohalo for dessert (summer time treat) afterwards. We also order taho for winter treat to finished off our visit. This store is like a fast food place - first you order and pay for your food at the counter. Then wait for your food to call in and enjoy your food either eat-in or take out. Just like any other fast food restaurants.

“If you're like me, and you are obsessed with Xiao Long Bao, you will LOVE this spot.

It can be tough to get solid Dim Sum in the East Bay, so this is a much needed spot in Walnut Creek.

Their Xiao Long Bao are perfection, especially the hot and spicy pork ones.

Their Siu Mai is solid too - highly recommend the shrimp and pork.

Their sautéed string beans with garlic salt are top notch, too. Perfectly seasoned.

“My parents have been coming here since before I was born and I grew up eating here. I 100% would say this is my favorite Chinese restaurant ever. The quality of the food is always top tier and super delicious every time. The staff is so friendly and the service is always fantastic!“

“At this location, the fried garlic is served separately—a detail I truly appreciate. I also really enjoy their thin egg noodles, which strike a perfect balance between chewy and tender without becoming overly soft. However, the dish tends to be quite oily, so if you prefer lighter meals, this might not be ideal for you.

My usual order is the Number 1 without kidney, with the soup served on the side. I also always add fish cake as an appetizer. The total cost for two regular dishes plus one appetizer comes to $53.75.

What I love about this restaurant is how it evokes the authentic flavors of Thailand’s street food, especially the dry yellow egg noodles. While it doesn’t include traditional Thai-style char siu or wontons, the taste remains quite close to home.

“Wow. Had a great experience. Was staying at a local hotel, did my want “fat” food like fires or bread. I’m not a huge Chinese food eater, a little Panda or whatever, but this was amazing! A light crispy tempura like breading on the honey walnut chicken, the fried rice had great flavor. I can’t wait to come back.“

“OK, this is a special place with stellar flavors like... chongqing street noodles with or without broth (I recommend the dry version), cold pig ear with garlic--slight crunch perfectly delicate, cold wood ear mushroom with spicy oil sauce--bright and fresh. Noodles obviously fresh and house made, rare. Chill al fresco outdoor space a half block from the Oakland Convention Center. And really a ROBOT food runner that whistles while it works. They have a prepay policy when ordering at the table outside, which I did not love, but I understand why. Don't let that dissuade you, you are in for a treat!“

“I got the romano beans and the fried chicken. I didn't know the fried chicken was chicken wings--- which it doesn't say and I don't like, but I ate it anyway. “A very delicious place in Oakland’s Chinatown. I had their shandong chicken, dry fried green beans, salt and pepper pork and chicken and they were all excellent. The shandong chicken is your typical orange chicken, but they did something to the sauce that gives it this dark toasted caramel taste to it. The green beans I highly recommend, it’s lightly fried and then stir fried with their sauce that gives it a rich and umami flavor. Their salt and pepper options, my only complaint is that I wish they gave more protein. But other than that, a great place to stop by in Chinatown if you’re ever in the area.“

We started out with the corn chowder soup ..excellent and best we've had anywhere. Ordered Salt and Pepper Fish with slices of onions and peppers, Orange Chicken with a tangy sweet unique flavor, honey walnut prawns, and shrimp fried rice. All were excellent and we'll definitely be back. I'd drive across town just for the corn chowder.“

The floors were sticky when you walk into the restaurant. The water glassed were plastic instead of glass. The restaurant needs deep cleaning and freshen up the atmospher. You can see all the storage freezers when sitting in the dining room when they can be hidden with a decor curtain or a trifold divider. They don't bring the bill to the table or accept payment at the table only at the cashier which is weird for a sit down facility“

I've been here for their lunch special a half-dozen times over the past year, and it's been consistently excellent. Great price for the amount of food, and every entree I have ordered has been great, especially the spicy eggplant with tofu. The portions are very generous too - my wife and I always end up bringing home leftovers.

My family and I often order takeout for dinner here as well, and again, have never been disappointed. Everything is exceptionally fresh - the veggie and seafood options are my favorites.“

“I was so happy to have this restaurant open up a location in Berkeley. I've been to the original in Bellevue Seattle as well as their other locations in Seattle and here in the Bay Area since I enjoy their food so much. However, I think the Berkeley restaurant needs to work on the consistency of their dishes as compared to their other locations. I ordered the Mala Spicy Noodles last night and it was half lettuce instead of noodles with lettuce garnish. Fortunately, I asked and they graciously re-fired another order for me with less lettuce but when it arrived, they had the lettuce correct but now it also had less mala spice. I'll check again in a few weeks and will gladly change this review to a 5 star rating if they have the consistency fixed.“
