“Had just arrived in San Francisco, and hit the road heading to Sonoma for a wedding this weekend. Looking for a place to have lunch and we found Avatars on line. So, we decided to try it, and we are glad we did. Our meals were cooked fresh to order and they were delicious! Friendly staff and a place we will fondly remember and look forward to trying again on our next trip out here!!“

“The legendary San Francisco institution featured by Anthony Bourdain, Guy Fieri, and more does not disappoint people!! The carne asada burrito (get it el dorado style) is a must: no rice, just juicy meat, beans, salsa, and cheese, with a crispy, golden tortilla. The line moves fast, so don’t bother phoning in an order bc it won’t really save you that much time. Cash only but I saw they had some sort of card reader now.“

“Warm and attentive service.
Wine selection is extensive and so pleased to see wines sourced from México.
Food was quick to arrive, our table ordered chips and salsa (salsas very good), fresh made guacamole, empanadas, sopes, queso fundido, mole and churros with coconut ice cream.
Favorite dishes were the sopes and mole dish.
Least favorite dish was the churros and ice cream. The churros had a type of filling and were more on the crunch side and the coconut ice cream texture could have been smoother. I would have preferred vanilla ice cream paired with the churros but coconut was the closest flavor to vanilla they offered
Would recommend to a friend and would like to go back to try more dishes.“

“One of the best dining experiences we’ve had.
Californios is a Michelin two star restaurant well deserving of this recognition.
I wouldn’t change any part of their course menu and was blown away at the experience offered here.“

“We went last night on 10/10/2024. Claudia was our waitress. She did a wonderful job,and her customer service was excellent. We had one issue with a plate. She and the manager took care of it. It wasn't big, but I appreciate them listening. The restaurant has a great atmosphere for a couples outing or dinner. They strive to have good dishes“

“First I learned the pronunciation of Donaji, a Oaxacan Princess, is (doh na hee).
A friend and I had margueritas: he had the Coco, and I had the Cadillac. Both drinks were delicious. There was no G4 Reposado, so they graciously swapped in another delicious, smokey Reposado.
We split a Mercado Ensalade, and there was plenty to split. The greens and oranges were fresh, and the pickled onions and hibiscus vinaigrette were just the right combination of sweet and sour.
He had the mole chicken enchiladas with a side serving of rice to ensure all the delicious mole was eaten. The combination of 26 ingredients blended to mole perfection was made for a flavor packed entree. I don't like mole, so I ordered the Mole Rojo Spare Ribs, without the mole sauce with a side of refried beans. What came to the table was the delicious Mole Rojo 1/4 chicken, without the mole sauce. I let them know I had ordered the Spare Ribs, and they apologized for the error, and said it would take a few minutes. I hated the thought that the chicken would go to waste and I decided to keep the different protein. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked piece of chicken, with a wonderfully spiced crispy skin with a small portion of pickled vegetables.
When our waiter returned with the dessert menus, he also brought two complimentary shots of Mezcal, orange slices an Tajin spice. The waiter again apologized for the order mix up. The smokey Mezcal was very smooth, and the orange slice and Tajin spice really elevated the taste.
We split the Churro Donut with warm chocolate sauce. Again, like all the other food, the churro was perfectly crisp and without any deep fried oily-ness. We struggled to use all the silky smooth, pourable chocolate sauce!
We both felt <$60/ person without tip was reasonable for the quality. At 6 PM parking in yellow loading zones on 24th Street was readily available. On a Wednesday night a DJ started to mix at around 8:45 PM. The DJ was experimenting with the sound volumes and eventually got it right, so conversation could be said & heard across the table.
This is definitely a place I'd recommend to friends and family.
Definitely a place to return to“

“Tiny place, huge flavor. We grabbed our food to go and were absolutely blown away - everything was fresh, authentic, and packed with flavor.
You can tell they care about what they’re making. One of those hidden gems where every bite makes you wish you’d ordered more. If you’re craving real Mexican food, this spot delivers - no fuss, just incredible food!!“

“Taqueria Cancun is Mission burrito territory, no apologies, no shortcuts. You walk in, order, and they hand you something heavy enough to double as a weapon. One bite and you know you’re in the right place—juicy meat, beans and rice glued together with just enough grease, salsa hitting you like a squeeze of lime to the jaw.
The chips aren’t some bagged afterthought—they’re nixtamal corn, fried hard, shattering with every bite. The salsa’s bright and mean, the kind that wakes up your tongue and makes you dive back in before you’ve even swallowed.
It’s the kind of food that doesn’t care who you are or where you came from—just that you’re hungry and you’re smart enough to eat it while it’s hot.“

“I love otra and it’s a great option for gluten free folks! The waitress was knowledgeable about celiac, cross contamination, and which dishes to avoid. Most of the menu is already gf, but some dishes are thickened with flour (queso, enchiladas) and there is no dedicated fryer (so the chips are not gf). Anything that comes with chips can be subbed for unfried corn tortillas.“

“Nice staff, clean place. Breakfast burrito comes out to $15.21. The size is respectable, taste Is generally solid, although all the flavour comes from the salsa. Seems to be missing that wow factor, that other nearby breakfast burrito spots can offer. All in all solid, but better options exist in The “

“Discovered El Gallo Giro by chance in the neighborhood and the tacos BLEW MY MIND. Amazing portion for the price, the meat was perfectly cooked, and the pickled veggies on the side elevated the entire dish!
Also, the service was excellent, even when I had to clarify what the menu meant and was explained to with smiles! Read that it's a family business and what a joy for the community to have them around. Lovely experience.“

“I came with my family here, very clean place, clean restroom, clean everything, good food. Fast service, but please ladies from the front (customer service) smile, you take care of the customer like robots, next, thank you , next, thank you next. I was looking at every single person that was receiving their orders to make sure that chips are given to some odres or to every order. We order two burritos, one pupusa and twelve tacos. We did not received chips at all. I saw people that purchase tacos , receiving their chips, this wasn’t my case. No one gave us our chips😟“

“Likely the best value in the FiDi for a quick breakfast. I got the Huevos Rancheros ($8.95) add Bacon (+$3). I ordered it through Toast and picked it up. My coffee was made fresh when I got there so it would still be HOT!
The Huevos were delicious! Two eggs, both red and green salsa (one on each), black beans, and a bit of cheese. It was the perfect amount and was delicious. A hint of spice from the salsas, the eggs were well seasoned and the tortillas still crispy.
I'll be swinging by here more often than my usual bagel place in the future!“

“I visited Bonita Taqueria and ordered the Mexican street tacos, which come as a set of three – I chose the chicken option. They were very tasty, with fresh ingredients and perfectly warm, soft tortillas.
The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had a great Latin vibe. It felt relaxed and comfortable – a really pleasant experience overall.
Highly recommend if you’re in the Chestnut Street area and craving authentic, flavorful tacos in a laid-back setting!“

“Great spot at tunnel tops… good atmosphere, good to grab a drink and get some good Mexican food. I enjoyed the mole, my partner had the Tinga but would say it was ok nothing exceptional about it.
Looked like that had a good happy hour so might try it out the next time for some of cocktails.“

“On some days you just crave that perfect made guacamole chips and salsa and yesterday was such a day. Los Yaquis came to the rescue and delivered and then some. I really enjoyed this experience, the place was busy , customers were waiting outside but I was lucky to get a spot at the community table. Impressive, the front of the house was run by a single lady but she kept the orders going and food delivered without feeling that you were waiting around.
I tried their fish ceviche and pork belly with guacamole.
The ceviche was nice but I think I should have ordered the combination with octopus and shrimp to get some extra texture and flavor. The pork belly was beautiful and so was the guacamole. It's a rather large portion and better for sharing. The tamarind margarita was a perfect way to round it all off.
Love the atmosphere, the service and the food . I'll be back“

“Really delicious! I got the surfer mermaid zapato which is a burrito but toasted crusts kinda like a panini. The habanero sauce (added after) was great and not spicy. Will definitely be coming back!
There’s an entire vegetarian menu page! No protein option, but still good.
Vegetarian options: Burritos, nachos, tacos, and sides!
Dietary restrictions: There’s an entire vegetarian menu page! No protein option, but still good.
Kid-friendliness: Ample seating. Bit dark and loud inside.“

“Great place to bring friends, family or even a date. Most of the food and drinks my friends and I ordered were delicious. The only entree that I didn't enjoy was their fajitas, they were under seasoned and lacked flavor. Definitely have to order the calamari, that red sauce is soo good 😁. The Al Pastor torta was packed with flavor and the fried chicken nachos were different in a good and delicious way. Service was good, but keep in mind that the restaurant is on the small side so there may be a bit of a wait for larger parties. Definitely coming back again!“

“Been going there since the 70’s We loved their fresh made tortillas and masa for tamales. I did notice today the tortillas weren’t the same. I pray the masa hasn’t changed when we make our Xmas tamales. For the past 27 years I drive from Antioch to San Francisco for our masa.🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️“

“Not only do I recommend Saylor's, but my wife and I will take a 3 hour drive just to enjoy the amazing food and drink, and outstanding staff. We do look for a good reason for a road trip and Saylor's is beyond satisfying. We'd be in trouble if we lived closer. 😁“
