Came here with a few friends: bartender Rick is a gem. He makes some of the best drinks I've ever had - my friend found her favorite drink, old tootsie, and she usually doesn't like bourbon. Food options may look limited but each one provides quite the bang. For example, I hate gravy, but the gravy on the meatballs was absolutely fantastic... We ordered three rounds. Cajun shrimp was also phenomenal.”

“We stopped here after going to Solvang Brewery because we wanted to bar hop but no are specifically trying other beers in the area. We were surprised to walk into a beer shop with a nice gentleman who could tell we looked lost but when I asked about the bar the said it was a membership bar but since it was our first time he let us in as visitors with a pass to what I now know is a speakeasy. Super cool entrance which explains unassuming the beer shop. We were welcomed and impressed by the beer selection on tap. The server was very knowledgeable and the patrons were all extremely friendly and welcoming. We struck up a few conversations about beer, about the locals and just general chit chat with good beer and good people. They also sell snacks and there's an outdoor patio and games to play, things to read, and just a very cool atmosphere overall. Nothing snooty or pretentious about this place. It's great to be in a comfortable setting with mature adults who just love beer! Highly recommend place to chill and slavtually conversate with fellow beer admirerers. We would definitely go back and if you're local a membership is worth it.”

“We were so hot touring Solvang and wanted to go into the first gelato place we could find... and we are so glad it was Via Gelateria! I had the hazelnut gelato and the salted caramel. Delicious!! Just what we needed to cool down.”

“I was here 4/6 for the first time. I came here because I saw that people commented that they had gluten-free baked goods, and I am an instant fan. The good or bad thing for me is that I live over 100 miles from here...so, I will have more reasons to vist family in Santa Maria just to make a stop here. So, what I got was the peanut butter cookie (best I've ever had with or w/o wheat). I also the super food latte w/beet root and raw cocoa...yum❣ Next time I'm adding and espresso shot to it. Ibrought home two different slices of their bread too... that I shouldn't have but tried anyway... rye w/walnuts and hard sourdough. Both tasty good. 🤩🤗🥖☕🍪”

“The best pastries I've had. We travel all over and have never found anywhere like this. The freshness and detail put into their products show up. I hadn't been here in 5 years and came back all was the same if not better. The atmosphere of this town is amazing and without Olsens it would never be the same. “This was the perfect place to have lunch. I had the half sandwich and salad option. The food was fresh and delicious. It was served on a cute colorful plate. It did not take long to get my order which I ate in their nice courtyard. I thought they had good service and good prices.”

“Absolutely delicous. I'd only ever had the crunchy ice before and wasn't a fan. This place changed my mind. The ice is so soft and instantly melts with no crunching. The flavors we tried were so tasty (the hawaiian and dreamcicle with coconut). To top it off you can add ice cream to the bottom which made this truly wonderful. Can't wait to try you all again. Thank you!”

“Paula’s Pancake House was fast, had great service, and delicious food. A real down-home breakfast spot! Our server, Daniela, greeted us right away, took our drink order quickly, and followed up shortly after for our food. Everything came out fast and tasted amazing. We shared a Danish pancake (a must-try!), and also had the chicken fried steak and hash Benedict, all excellent!”

“This place is a must if you travel to solvang!! The pretzel with the dip was AMAZING !! but for me the sausages are just average and a bit pricey but they had a lot of sauces to choose from. It just so happen we went here during summer around 2pm thats why it was so hot. And half of the tables does not have shade so I do recommend come here when the sun is not that bright.”

Taco Roco is one of my favorite places to eat! The food is absolutely amazing, the prices are great, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. When we came in, they took about 10 minutes to go over the whole menu with us, giving us different options and choices without ever making us feel rushed.

My family is big and we usually take a little longer to order, which sometimes upsets people at other places — but not here! Everyone was so patient and kind. Julian and Michelle were especially wonderful! They were incredibly friendly and helpful. Michelle even helped my sister take care of her baby girl so she could sit down and enjoy her meal. That meant so much to us!

The staff here is great, and a lot of them are local, which makes the whole place feel even more comfortable and welcoming. We always have a great experience here. Highly recommend Taco Roco if you want delicious food and amazing service”

He clearly values local customers and cares about his shop. The ingredients always taste high quality and delicious!!! This is a great place to visit in Solvang for those sick of all the unhealthy pastries!”

“The food was great. I had the brisket chili and my wife had the BBQ Brisket Plat with Smashed Garlic Potatoes and Mac & Cheese. Our third guest had a bowl of Mac & Cheese. My wife is disabled and the staff was very accommodating in seating her. I chose Whiskey & Rye because it was rated #2 on Trip Advisor and have come to trust their recommendations.”

“We enjoyed our visit to Danish Mill Bakery. Not only are the pastries and desserts delicious, the customer service is impeccable. We were on a driving trip through CA and my daughter accidentally left her Apple Watch at the bakery. We did not realize this until we were two hours south. I received a phone call from Emily at the bakery who was so kind and was willing to mail the watch to our home. We can't thank you enough!”

Every detail, from the carefully curated menu to the perfectly paired wines by Amber Rose Wines, reflected an incredible level of thought and skill. The evening began with a canapé reception and a crisp, elegant Rosé, setting the tone for the culinary journey ahead. The first course, Coquilles Saint Jacques, was an absolute delight—baked scallops in a creamy white wine sauce, beautifully gratinéed and paired perfectly with a bright Sauvignon Blanc. The flavors were rich, yet balanced, showcasing the chef’s expertise in French cuisine. The Warm Salad Niçoise that followed was a masterpiece. The seared tuna was cooked to perfection, complementing the tender fingerling potatoes, crisp haricots verts, and briny olives. It was a symphony of textures and flavors, enhanced by the accompanying Pinot Noir. The main course, Beef Bourguignon, featured tender short ribs in a deeply flavorful red wine reduction. Paired with a Grenache/Syrah blend, it was hearty, comforting, and elevated—a true celebration of rustic French cooking. To close the evening, the Cherry Clafoutis was pure perfection. The balance of tart Amarena cherries and the delicate custard-like cake was divine, especially when paired with Spanish coffee. It was the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. Chef Cecchini’s attention to detail and passion for his craft were evident in every dish. This was not just a meal; it was a culinary experience that transported us to the heart of Provence. Highly recommend attending one of these events—you won’t regret it!”

“Canolli $10, apricot tart, $10. Canolli's flavor is okay - better and cheaper in Rome. The apricot tart is okay - just doesn't jump out. It's the only shop with pastries that stays open after 7 PM, so, in a smart move, has a lock on the market, and it has a clean well lit courtyard that bumps up the overall score to four. Prices are in line with the rest of the adorable tourist trap that is Solvang.”
