“If you ever have the opportunity to visit Perbacco be prepared for the most amazing experience! After a long morning of sight seeing we stopped in for what we thought would be a quick slice of pizza. We ended up staying hours! The owner, Paolo, is THE KINDEST man! He brought us into the kitchen to show us how to make pizza, brought out different kinds and had us join his family at their table. We had the best conversation with he and his daughter. The Bianca pizza is to die for. I wish we could travel back to Copenhagen just for this pizza. He also taught us about the slow rise and high quality grains are easier in digestion. I was shocked this pizza did not hurt my stomach. Long overdue post but so grateful for THE highlight of our Denmark trip being this completely unplanned, amazing experience at Perbacco! “We split the El Moro Burger and fries and we asked for the burger to be cooked medium. The burger was a little undercooked. The burger was seasoned nicely. The fries were done well ahead of the burger and they were barely lukewarm. We received excellent service from the two young gals working the tables in the bar area. We walked 4 blocks from our hotel to the restaurant. I didn’t see their own parking lot.
Note:
1. They automatically add a 20% tip to the bill. We almost always tip 20% for descent service. The servers missed out on a higher tip because I was taken back by their policy.
2. I ordered a Sprite and got a refill. I was not told there is no free refills and I did not see this on the menu. I was charge $8 for two Sprites. This added to me not leaving a larger tip. The servers lose out because of questionable policies.
3. I evaluated the food, service and atmosphere on their own merits and these issues did not impact the rating I gave.”

“I think that people who give this place one star reviews have overly high expectations. This is not a San Francisco, New York, Chicago or big city restaurant. There are very limited options for dining at Purgatory and they suffer from the lack of labor and inconsistent patronage patterns. You have Purgy's, Nugget, Olde Schoolhouse and Paradise. Let me know if I missed anyone. I eat at Paradise once a year and like that they still are in business. I give them one star for being open, one star for doing table service instead of counter service and one star for a very nice patio and an additional star just to counter the one star reviews. I always order pizza and the middle is always soft, some might say soggy, but most of it is good. I suggest that Paradise copy the pizza process from Olde Schoolhouse which is much better. They also have a good beer menu, but unfortunately there were out of many of them at my last visit.”

When we were looking for dinner, we stopped in multiple nice restaurants ($30+\entree) and were surprised by poor service (us standing at the host stand, watching hosts walk by us without acknowledgement for multiple minutes). “July 13, 2025. Put in my order 3:14PM over the mobile app for college drive location. Order was quick to complete. I should’ve gotten the baristas name (the girl barista that was there 🌸) , but I ordered the salty dog with special instructions “less salt cause I’m already salty enough today”… pun (I wanted to go swimming but it started thundering and lightning LOL) & I ordered the green apple blossom. 🌸 BOTH. SO. GOOD. Literally salty dog though… star of the show is the girl who made it. Literally SO sweet, made sure there wasn’t too much salt and it was hands down THE BEST coffee I’ve EVER gotten from Durango Joes which is saying something because I’ve been going there off and on for 4 years & I always give it a chance because it’s local and convenient. I called the store after I got home and told her too. Like seriously thoroughly impressed. Today this girl, (AGAIN. I WISH I GOT HER NAME, she was working with another gentleman who was also very nice) I’ve never gotten a drink from her before, she absolutely NAILED it. NAILED IT. If I could only have one barista make me coffee for the rest of my life it would be her. I literally chugged it before I got home which is saying something because I live 3 minutes away and wanted to sit on my porch and sip coffee but that obviously didn’t happen. Chugged it. Gone. Y’all give this girl a raise and some praise. I’m so serious.”

The Mahi tacos were fabulous, as was the pablano meal. Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant is located at an end of a strip mall, so is somewhat basic, but it was clean and had some interesting artwork on the walls and some patio seating. We will return when back in Durango.”

“I just got back from an extended stay in Italy with Napoli and Roma as my longest stays. Naples is THE place for Pizza! That’s one of the things it’s known for! I can tell you unequivocally that the Olde School House can easily match and in some cases surpass the Pizza in Italy! Personally, I think it’s among the best I’ve ever had and yes, I am Italiano! You will NOT find a better Pizza consistently prepared than what the School House makes! It has the charm, it has the vibe and it has the quality! Per una buona Pizza, buon appetito!”

As soon as we hit the road from Houston Texas to here, we know pizza and WoodChuck Cider is on the menu. The Code Blue, Angry Hawaiian, Cider, and wings are delicious! An absolute must try and the staff is always welcoming. I asked if there was a way to buy the WoodChuck Cider for home use and the bar tender, Charlie, had me write my name and number down so she could ask the vendor and get back with me. That exhibits the staff going above and beyond for the customer.”
