“I’ve been a regular here since Day 1 and I can’t believe I didn’t post a review until NOW!! What can I say, it’s the best seafood in West Haven HANDS DOWN! The oysters are fresh, the lobster rolls are the best, and the mussels for 2 is so flavorful. The staff are like family and welcome you with open arms. For drinks, I recommend the manhattans, old fashioned, espresso martinis and dirty martini with the blue cheese stuffed olives (YUM!). Their Moby’s lager is delicious and there’s a great selection of tequila. The bartenders are the best around! My favorite dishes are the lobster Mac, Lobster Rolls, Tuna Sushimi Oysters, Oysters Rockefeller, and tuna tartare. Trust me, you will not be disappointed with your dining experience! Nick and the crew will take good care of you. I’m a customer for life ❤️”

However, Alisha was beyond incredible. She was attentive, caring, patient (I take a while to read the menu) (it's a problem), and always there when we needed her. She made me feel like I was her only table on a busy Saturday morning, even though I could see how busy she was you'd never tell by her service. The food was fine. But Alisha was exceptional. I don't think I would have considered returning, but having her as my server, they can definitely expect me again (as long as she's serving). Very diner. I've never left a review before, but she was so incredible it had to be known.”

We were served refried beans with cheese with tortilla chips. So yummy! Our dinner was made quickly and it was great.
We ordered steak quesadilla and a chicken burrito.
We were asked if we wanted more refined beans and tortillas, I asked for some to go. It was placed in a foil container to make it simple to reheat and serve.
It’s the smaller places that are the best. Highly recommend!”

“We happened to stumble into Elm Diner by chance, and what a find it turned out to be. The moment we walked in, the bright, welcoming atmosphere and spotless space immediately stood out. Then came Nicole, our waitress, greeting us with a genuine smile that made us feel like we’d been coming there for years.

The menu is impressively extensive, offering something for everyone. When our salad arrived, it was fresh, crisp, and generous just like the rest of the meal. Our dishes were flavorful and satisfying.

Nicole was exceptional, and the entire staff added to the experience with their friendliness and energy. There’s a real sense of camaraderie here that you don’t find everywhere.

If you’re anything like me, this place will set the bar for every diner you visit afterward. Every once in a while, you come across a restaurant that truly has it all, and Elm Diner is that rare gem.

“My family ordered here all the time years ago and they have always had deliciously reliable food on the cheaper side. Went back tonight to get some cheap food late at night and was not disappointed. Got our food (chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli, egg drop soup, half chicken, and fried scallops) in 15 minutes. Nothing fancy but super tasty and containers absolutely stuff.

A lot of the one-star reviews on google seem to feature non-Chinese food from restaurant named CHINA SEA, kinda weird. Great spot worth more than 3.4 stars”

“Went there last Saturday, August 3rd at 12:30 pm and had the best time ever. I spoke to Riley prior to going asking about the chocolate martinis and she told me that Allisa made really good ones. When we got there to celebrate a girl's day out Riley was there, our waitress Shelly pointed her out so I could go over and introduce myself. Not only did EVERYONE treat us like we had been going there for years and were family, but Alissa made REALLY GREAT DRINKS and the FOOD WAS FANTASTIC. My sister had a couple cosmos, and my other friend and I had the chocolate martinis which were WONDERFUL!!! We had chicken tacos, fries and the Burbon pork belly bites were SOOOO GOOD you would want to slap anyone who tried to grab any. This was truly a good time and although it was busy, loud and was SOOOOOO MUCH FUN because everyone was fabulous. I will look forward to going back next time I'm in Connecticut.”

“I recently ordered a Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla & wings from Zee's. If you like spicy, this Quesadilla is for you! It was more than worth the price; it had great flavor, & it was packed! That was one big Quesadilla! I shared it with someone, because it was too much for me. Oh by the way, the garlic parm wings, & mild wings were delicious too! Don't sleep on Zee's food. It's fantastic. Also of note, check out their specialty drinks. Always something new & delicious to try!”

“So I typically have a great sandwich here, but the other day I placed an order over the phone for my grandfather’s birthday, and when I showed up too early to pick up the order I thought I heard they didn’t have one type of meats for the ‘Sweet Italian Combo’ (of course my grandfather’s sandwich, out of all of them ordered). I thought nothing of it as nobody said a word to me from behind the counter. Grabbed the orders and paid, get home and it was a grilled chicken sandwich with ham (random combination) BUT was labeled as the Sweet Italian. It all made sense now, and I was not mistaken from what I heard. The Provy Brother’s would of never of pulled that ‘stunt’ and would have been transparent that they did not have the available meat(s) for the sandwich instead of making whatever they decided AND labelling it as the requested sandwich when it was not. Yes, the sandwich was still good, but imagine my grandfather’s surprise on his 86th birthday that his favorite sandwich he ordered from his favorite sandwich shop was not what he ordered or wanted on his special day. Please don’t EVER do that again to anyone. That was messed up and you all know what you did. And yes, we will give you all another chance as your sandwiches are always great. Just please be honest to your loyal customers.”

We almost always get the General Tso’s Chicken and the Chicken Lo Mein, and ask them to make both dishes spicy. They always get it just right. The food is flavorful, fresh, and consistently delicious every time. The General Tso’s Chicken has a great balance of crispy, sweet, and spicy, and the Chicken Lo Mein is always cooked perfectly. It’s hard to find a takeout place that’s this consistent, and we’ve had a great experience every time we’ve ordered. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for really good Chinese food!”
