“Big expectations. Some met, others not so much. We gladly paid the corkage on a ten year old special Napa Cab we brought with us. We did get it decanted properly. A+ to the waitstaff. Started with Sourdough and shrimp cocktail. $15 Sourdough was dry and sent to the bin. Shrimp was fresh and crisp and poached well to that special cool crispness. Pea soup was amazing with great presentation. Duck egg pasta house made was also a highlight. Needed some peas and bacon in the pasta, but then that's a pasta carbonara right? Hint to the chef. Scallops were done to perfection and vegetables were fresh. We wanted red meat to go with the wine, but the only offering was a 52oz aged Waygu for $365. Not very couple friendly. We would have loved to order a sharable filet or smaller bone in ribeye. None were offered. Would have liked to see a whole fish option or at least something like Seabass or black cod offered. You won't find white tablecloths here, nor black or white table linen offered even though you would expect that at this price level. We lingered and did not feel rushed. Crowd was typical college town vibe. Parking is on the street, be prepared to walk.”

“Made reservations for my birthday. We had the bruschetta caprese as a starter. It was very fresh, tomatoes had tons of flavor. We ate every last shred of basil off the plate. My husband ordered the lobster which had amazing flavor and didn’t have the standard “seafood” taste I dread. I had the rissono which wasn’t at all greasy, or spicy. Decent portions and quality food. Servers are very well informed. I had two limontini’s which were delicious. Bar can get a bit behind in a rush. We finished with dessert, cheesecake with berries which was fine but not my favorite cheesecake. We will be back and sure to recommend!”

The soup was lukewarm and had to be reheated which was promptly and courteously done, as was all service rendered. This was our only complaint. Everything was excellent. Best Chicken Tortilla soup (not too spicy) ever had, The sandwich was great too. Yum!”

“We hired Dane's to provide a sundae bar (ice cream and a variety of toppings) for our daughter's graduation party. It was a fantastic experience. Mariah & Josh were responsive, friendly, and provided helpful guidance as we were planning. Cost was reasonable, too! They delivered the goodies and provided a freezer for us to use during our party. The sundae bar was a hit with guests and the graduates. We are already looking forward to hiring them again in two years for my son’s party. If you are considering having something similar for a gathering, I highly recommend giving them a call!”

“SO happy to see that Saigon’s Corner is now on Chomp! (Maybe this isn’t new, but I don’t remember seeing them there before). We got a ton of food for a very reasonable price, it was very well packaged (pho broth separate from noodles, veg, protein, etc), arrived in a very reasonable time (even on a Saturday night) and it was all fresh and really delicious. We easily have enough for lunch for both of us tomorrow as well. We will definitely be ordering again, and can’t wait!!”

I ordered the avocado cucumber sushi combo-the sushi was arranged very prettily even in the takeout container, and it also came with very tasty miso soup. Also ordered the gyoza- savory flavor with just a hint of sweetness. The green tea with roasted rice was delicious - brewed at the right temperature, so it wasn't bitter at all. “I'm not sure why this page is full of tech and finance reviews. Hopefully mine will actually help people who are curious about this Iowa City gem. Molly's catered a small cake and a large number of cupcakes for my mid-sized wedding. Sour stuff first: Complaints (none large enough to warrant less than a five-star review): 1) They didn’t keep a record of our deposit. This seemed unprofessional and disorganized. Luckily, I was able to provide proof of the transaction, and then they “found” it (and didn’t make us pay again). 2) The cake appeared hastily decorated and put together. It did not have the details of the design we had discussed, and the food coloring in the frosting was streaky and not completely mixed. It was still delicious, but disappointing because the main purpose of the cake was for the cutting photos! 3) We had a miscommunication about when we needed the cake delivered. Molly’s was able to get it to us in time, but it sure gave us a scare. Ultimately, delicious cake and cupcakes. Our wedding guests were happy, and, to our knowledge, no one with allergies or sensitivities had any negative impacts. Their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions was one of the reasons we chose Molly’s. Their gluten-free cupcakes are genuinely some of the best. Due to a planning/ordering error on our part, we overlooked our need for a singular egg-free cupcake. Molly’s kindly hand-delivered said solitary cupcake when we frantically called to ask for a remedy. This sort of kindness is some of the best customer service around and more than makes up for the hiccups we had with the process.”

Our cake was layered, moist, and the frosting was not that gross whipped topping stuff you get at some places. Now, let me tell you about the lemon raspberry cake… I was talking about it for MONTHS before the wedding! Seriously, it was that good. From the initial tasting and consultation, the staff was super accommodating. We got to sample tons of different cake flavors alongside coffee and tea, which made the whole process so fun. The owner is amazing — friendly, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable about guest favorites and portioning, which helped us plan just right (hello, leftovers!). Day-of delivery? Seamless. We even dropped off extra florist stems the day before, and they were flexible and easygoing about timing. On the big day, the delivery was so quick and smooth that we didn’t even get a chance to thank the baker — that’s efficiency! Pro tip for future couples: Don’t stress about saving the top tier for your anniversary because DeLuxe provides a complimentary one. No more dry, freezer-burned cake! Plus, the bakery itself is adorable — a cute pink and white French-inspired spot with plenty of menu options to satisfy every sweet tooth. We make a point to stop by whenever we’re back in town. I love drinking Lotus energy drinks and they have 3 or 4 with clever 'power plant' names like Infrared and Ultraviolet. Huge RK treats, rich fudgy brownies, tiramisu, scones, muffins, cookies, soups, salads, sandwiches. Mismatched furniture with couches, side tables, different types of chairs and several seating areas. A casual, laid back atmosphere.”

“I have seen this coffee shop evolve from Capanna, to Coffee Emporium, and now Midnight Coffee. I spent a lot of time there while it was Capanna and loved it but I have to say, the changes they have made since it has become Midnight Coffee is my absolute favorite. From the great coffee, to the partnering with local pastry shops, to the new interior design, and the new Merch…..the VIBE is immaculate as people younger than me would say. Highly recommended making Midnight Coffee your new coffee spot in North Liberty and the Corridor region. They have other locations in Iowa city and tiffin as well I believe.”

“These smaller Starbucks branded stores are usually quite good and offer the familiar drinks, foods, and quality one expects from Starbucks. Having a Starbucks in the hotel is convenient. Fast friendly service.”

“Food is good for what you would expect. We stop infrequently for lunch and I have not been disappointed. People behind the counter are always friendly. Atmosphere is low simply because it is a grocery store...though they do have a small area to sit and eat, we always grab take-out. Food is a limited selection of any one type of food (some Pizza, few main dishes of chinese, some side sushi...) but there is enough selection not to get too boring. If you want something quick an better than fast food this is a good place to go.”

“Great food and excellent service. The place was clean and our order tasted excellent. They have a gluten-free bun and my wife who has celiac has never had a problem so they must be extra cautious about cross contamination. 5 stars all the way.”

“In town for a wedding, stopped to try as we never been. Solid place to eat. Staff was great, helpful and kept the place clean. Food was solid, chicken was juicy, good cheese on the pizza bread was solid.

Definitely a good choice if you're looking for some good eats.”

“Iowa is the last place I’d expect to find good Indian food tbh. Place was recommended by The Iowa Gallivant, and did not disappoint. Got the lamb vindaloo and garlic naan and was very satisfied. Some of the best vindaloo and naan I’ve ever had, hands down. 10/10 recommend!”

“Haven't been here in a few years. Don't recommend the calamari. It was overcooked and there was too much crunchy breading. The tuna and salmon sashimi were fresh and delicious. Godzilla roll was great. Our waitress was nice and attentive. Good experience overall.”

“The waiter was great, I ordered steak tacos, Mexican style with cheese and lime on the side (my go to) and he recommended the Quesabirria with steak and they were hands down the absolute best steak tacos I have ever had!! Will definitely go back and I highly recommend this restaurant!!”
