“The food was really good. All of it was made well and for the most part amazing service. My only issue was the white hostess told us there were no tables and seated us right by the door completely cramped. Asking another waiter he was able to move us and said we need to be done at 8 as the table was reserved. This was at 6, showing the hostess just did not seat us well and communicate properly. If seated there we were ready to leave, but because the other staff were competent, we stayed and enjoyed good food. My other issue is as the tables are small we could only eat one plate at a time. Otherwise, it was very good! I just wish the hostess did not ruin the experience from the get go, with her incompetence.“

“Amazing and inventive Korean food in the East Village. Must-have starter is the scallop DIY gimbap where you create your own bites with seaweed. Great combination of sauces gives it an incredible umami mouthfeel.
For entrees, dolsot al-bop has the uni flavor in the form of bibimbop, served in a sizzling bowl. And the fried soft-shell crab is to die for.
Only complaint is feeling rushed by servers to clear plates and present the bill before being asked.“

“I feel guilty for wanting this place all to myself because it's so good. The staff handled my children's requests with grace. This place distinguishes itself clearly. Their menu offerings and service quality merit top rating. You should taste what this spot offers once.“

“Seoul Salon is such a trendy and aesthetic restaurant and the food didn't disappoint. I'd definitely recommend making reservations because it was all packed for a Thursday dinner. To start the meal, they give this crispy ramen cracker snack with a hot sauce drizzled on top and it was so nostalgic to the snacks I used to eat when I was younger. The whole menu looked so delicious, but I ended up trying the Soy Scallop with Gim Rice, Rose Tteokbokki with Gimmari, and the Seoul Salon Fried Chicken. The soy scallops were fresh and full of flavor. The Gim rice paired perfectly with the scallops as well. The Rose tteokbokki reminded me of eating a margherita pizza because of the cheese and basil toppings with the sauce. Iloved the Gimmari that came with the dish; it was nicely fried and dipping it into the sauce was perfection. The fried chicken took me by surprise. The batter was so crispy and airy and the chicken was so juicy and flavorful. The sauce had a good spice kick and it was only drizzled lightly on half of the chicken, so none of the chicken got soggy and it's great for people who can't handle the spice. Overall had a great experience at Seoul Salon. I would come back again and again.“

“My friend and I made a reservation for Gurumé at 7pm on a Saturday. I would recommend making a reservation if you are dining around this time, as it was packed! However, the crowd had dissipated by 8:30pm, so if you're looking for a later evening bite, it's definitely slower. I would also recommend not dining at peak hours because it was so loud. Decor is your average, upscale vibes, but the tables are really close together to maximize the amount of people in the space.
We ordered crispy corn and cheese ($14), oyster mushroom taco ($17), berkshire kimchi fried rice ($19), scallop crudo ($19), and pork & radish "bossam" ($19). We also ordered the black sesame bread pudding for dessert ($11). Overall, the food was flavored well and tasty. You're paying entree prices for appetizer portions, but it makes sense for the location. If I came back, I would skip the kimchi fried rice and scallop crudo. The fried rice was nothing special, and I have had better experiences with simpler ingredients; the scallop crudo was overpowered by the other flavors, losing the taste of the scallop. The bossam was so moist and juicy, with fantastic natural flavoring, though the other components did enhance the flavor. I would only recommend the corn if you are a corn lover and none of the other appetizers appeal to you. The mushroom taco had a great combination of flavors and the spice kick was mild. If you're a dessert person, the bread pudding was delectable, great black sesame flavor and the bread was also moist.
Service was outstanding. We were originally seated next to a large party, and they later moved us to a table further away where it was quieter. There were many checkbacks throughout the evening, and they definitely make you feel like you are valued as a customer. I would recommend Gurumé for a fancy night out and people in your party can talk loudly.“

“Finally went to Moono and it delivered. Each dish held its own with unique flavors. We had a la carte among four of us with a bottle of makeoli and were happily filled with 1 appetizer and 3 entrees. We ordered an extra bowl of white rice which is the move as so many dishes had excellent sauces that you just wanted to soak up with rice, plus the white rice itself is perfect with a sweetness to it.
We had Hoe Muchim + Kim, Beef Hotpot, Mushroom Sotbap, and Galbijjim. It was outstanding from the cold cucumber soup at the beginning to the end. Beef hotpot is great for those who appreciate that pure beef taste and experience- it is lightly seasoned and in my opinion a great contrast to the big flavors of Galbijjim. Galbijjim is a crowd pleaser and easy to enjoy, it is a most indulgent version with meat removed from the bones. We only wished the dish were layered with more vegetables / mushrooms, which were not side characters in this dish. Sotbap was fragrant - only wished that they scooped out the crispy bits, which are the best parts. Maybe they can offer guests the option to serve themselves rather than take away and return with the scooped out bowls for each person.
Also would love to see more makgeolli options on the drinks menu.
Can’t wait to return!“

“Amazing experience tonight enjoying the bar menu. The team created a pitch perfect vibe, it felt like I was at a dinner party with friends (who just happen to be wizards at food and wine tasting menus). The service was exceptional: friendly and familiar yet still very high standard when it came to the details just as any other restaurant of this level. The food had some really standout dishes and the drinks pairings were so boldly experimental and amazing. I won't soon forget my experience at Atomix.“

“A truly delightful dining experience with small plates that don’t disappoint. We particularly loved the tartare, with finely diced tomato and a well balanced ginger sesame dressing. It’s hard to believe that the words “great beet hummus” but trust me! Also the persimmon salad with yuzu yogurt - wow. We also really enjoyed the play on a bagel and cream cheese for dessert - very fun and a great punch of flavors with the homemade strawberry jam. Will def return!
Pro tip: the bathroom is a must visit.“

“Bottom line: Enjoy eating and drinking your way through Seoul BAP's menu!!
The food was flavorful and had a nice twist on some Korean classics. Beautifully plated, too. Our favorites were...
* corn cheese
* galbi jjim
* bulgogi bibimbap
* bulgogi japchae
Go hungry because the portions sneak up on you!
Service was considerate, prompt and super respectful. From the hostess to all the waitstaff, everyone was great with our group.
Ambiance was chill-sexy. Would be great for a group with the back area perfect for a happy hour/cocktail hour party--or even an intimate date!
Looking forward to going again soon!“

“A fabulous early dinner right before catching the train at Penn Station! Our party of 4 enjoyed seafood bibimbap, bulgogi hot pot, and veggie spring rolls. Everything was authentic, fresh, and delicious. Our server was, who was helpful and informative, prepared our hot pot for us right at the table. Great cocktails, too!“

“This was one of the places my friend who moved to LA had to come back to during her visit.
They have the best rice cake and sausage (소떡소떡) I’ve had from a chicken shop. The rice cake is the perfect level of crispiness. The sausage is a normal Frankfurt sausage instead of the Korean ones but it’s still okay because their sauce is perfect. Even before eating the chicken, I can tell this is going to be amazing. They have great combo deals which are great for groups and they also give free Cajun fries (which are also good and fresh) a review! Definitely worth trying.“

“Got a last minute reservation, was 10 minutes late, but still accommodated quickly with no issues. It was busy when we came, but the service was still very prompt.
We came for a light dinner and got the cold noodles and a bossam plate. The cold noodles, EXCEPTIONAL. We are all cold noodle fanatics and a lot of restaurants in k-town are hit or miss with cold noodles specifically. Bossam plate was also very delicious, though I do agree with some of the reviews that it is a bit overpriced for the portion size.
Very glad I came across this restaurant when I input ‘best cold noodles NYC.’ Will definitely be back!“

“Fabulous! They had two Michelin stars in Seoul, and they shine in NYC. They received only one as soon as they opened this year. The wine pairing program is also on point.
Don't get thrown by the freight elevator entry, it's part of the streetscape transition to enter heaven!“

“Delicious food, the soondubu and bibimbap were SO flavorful, as were all the banchan. Soondubu is not too spicy at all, I actually appreciate a more mild soup right now. Service did forget I asked for purple rice, but they came back and apologized, asking if I still wanted it (I honestly didn't mind either way, but appreciate them remembering).“

“Went on a Wednesday night at around 7 PM and was super busy! Filled with mainly younger people and the vibe was extremely nice. We got the beef tartare, chapaguri fried rice, soy-glazed bossam, and the frozen makgeolli for dessert! Only got a picture of the beef tartare and chapaguri :(, but everything was good nonetheless.
We did find the garlic bossam a bit too oily for our liking but it was good and finished all our plates. The service was great - I noticed that there were probably a lot of reservations as servers were quick to clear off empty tables and set them up for the next guests. Would highly recommend and I would go back to try some other dishes!“

“Solid handroll spot from the team behind Mari.
After a great dinner at Mari, I had high hopes for this sister concept. Came in for a late weekday lunch and the counter still had plenty of open seats.
I went with the 5-roll set and a yellowtail sashimi app. Everything was fairly priced and the handrolls were solid, but not the best I’ve had in this range. One detail I loved wasn’t the fish, but the sauces. Every seat came stocked with four house-made options, and the mustard soy and chili soy really added the flavors I wanted for the rolls.
Not sure I’d pick this over some of the city’s lower-cost lunch omakase spots, but if you’re after something more filling than a poke bowl and less of a commitment than omakase, this is a great option.“

“There’s a certain feeling you get when you come into a restaurant and you know right away what to expect and what you’re getting into, and when my partner came here for the first time, it instantly felt like home. The owner here is an absolute gem and is so attentive and kind and generous with her food which is 100/10. Come for the food, come again for the pure experience of being taken care of 💕💯“

“Some dishes truly impressed - like the oxtail spring roll and the yellowtail, and others flopped like the cauliflower (which the server failed to tell us was battered and fried when we asked about it) and the scallops. The corn dumplings were solid but could have been more flavorful. The cocktail I ordered was so sweet that I sent it back.“

“Coqodaq in NYC was definitely buzzing — it’s not easy getting a reservation, we had to put our names in and wait around 2 hours for a table for two. The vibe inside is a unique blend of club and restaurant, giving it a lively, energetic atmosphere. We started with a delicious consommé that set a good tone, and I appreciated the selection of ban chan-style appetizers. But of course, the real star is the fried chicken, which Coqodaq is known for. The gochujang wings were the standout for me, packed with flavor and the perfect kick of spice. The other flavors, though, didn’t leave as much of an impression. Overall, I’d say it was a good experience, but I’m not entirely convinced it’s worth the hassle of scoring a table. The food was solid, especially the gochujang wings, but with the effort it takes to get in, I’m not sure it’s something I’d go out of my way for again.“

“Brilliant Korean spread at Cho Dang Gol in midtown Manhatten. Specializes in tofu dishes so we plumped for the spicy tofu hotpot but also ordered some tasty beef and zucchini pancakes and spicy gochujang chicken. This eatery features on the Michelin guide and is always packed, and rightly so! Maybe a little on the sweeter side for my taste but isn’t everything in the USA? 😜 Regardless, it was stupid tasty and we inhaled everything“

“This place is GREAT!
We were craving for some ttukbokki and kimbop, decided to try for a new place.
Their kimbop is delicious, great fillings and well seasoned seaweed.
Ttukbokki came out nice and hot. Rice cake was nicely cooked and seasoned. But come on, look at the boiled egg, it’s not one of those overcooked yolk!!
Ramyun and udon was also delicious, noodles were done jussssssst right. I will admit that I was a little thrown off by mixed greens on ramyun.
Donkatsu was one of the best as well. Pork was just the right amount of thickness and crispy.
I also don’t feel like crap after eating the food there, not over seasoned with high sodium or MSG.
People were also great there, highly highly recommend it!“

“I really appreciate that Fevy’s offers halal chicken for Muslim customers, and the quality is top-notch. You can tell the chicken is fresh from its texture and cleanliness. The fried chicken is incredibly crispy, and the buldak chicken with cheese was absolutely delicious, though be warned—it’s quite spicy! The portion sizes are generous as well. The kimchi fried rice was decent, but it had a strong sesame oil flavor that might not be for everyone. The fries were a highlight—crispy and fresh. The iced tea, however, wasn't sweet enough for my taste. I also tried a sauce that was labeled as spicy, but it leaned more on the sweet side, which wasn’t what I was expecting. It would be great if there was a way to sample all the sauces without having to buy each one separately. The service was friendly and enthusiastic, which made the experience even more enjoyable.“
