“As a ramen enthusiast I’ve been wanting to try this new ramen joint in Financial District. Well I think it’s opened around beginning of 2024. For lunch I had a bowl of Susukino ramen, served with rich delicious chicken broth & toppings of chicken pork pieces, egg, mushrooms etc. I like it! Feel good for this portion though I think it’s better to have bigger portion.
Will definitely come again!“

“MLW is a classic spot, especially if you're into those famous pork buns (char siu bao) that everyone talks about. The buns are soft, sweet, and packed with flavorful roast pork – definitely a must-try. Besides the buns, they’ve got other dim sum items and pastries like dumplings and egg tarts, and they’re all pretty tasty. It's affordable too, which is why so many locals love it. As for the vibe, it's super casual – don’t expect anything fancy. It’s a bit old-school, with limited seating, so it's perfect if you're just looking for a quick, no-fuss bite.
Overall, if you’re in Chinatown and want something cheap and delicious, Mei Lai Wah is definitely worth checking out. Just go for the pork buns!“

“everything i ordered was so so good!!! The portions are great and super filling, spent around $50 for two people including tip and ended up taking half of it home :D definitely a smaller space with close-together seating. i felt slightly out of place at first (some other customers were staring) but the server was so friendly and attentive :)) im gonna dream about this place until i go back LOL. My favs were the chana chapatne and the pani puri, they were both so addicting,,
other details: there’s a button to call the server to order more food, they accept Apple Pay, they give bottles of sauce if u order momos (but i had to share mine with other tables), there’s a small bathroom, and i think people eat downstairs by default (?)“

“I recently dined at New Chinatown Restaurant and Bar, and it was an exceptional experience. The fusion of Chinese and Thai flavors is both innovative and delicious. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, and everything we tried was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The ambiance is inviting, with a modern twist on classic decor, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall great atmosphere. I highly recommend New Chinatown for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality Asian fusion cuisine in a welcoming environment.“

“I would say that this is THE BEST Japanese restaurant in Bergen county. Each sushi roll had been craftly made with very tasty and fresh ingredients. The most amazing surprise was Fire Roll which sushi rolls were presented with fire. The rolls were perfectly smoked and super delicious!!
The restaurant is cozy, clean and family & friend oriented. Nothing to compare!! All servers and sushi chefs are very friendly and great service mind.
It’s such a nice place and people. We’ll visit you again soon. Thank you for this great dinner. ?“

“This place is a hidden gem! It far exceeded my expectations as the food was unique but absolutely delicious. We were a group of 4 so got to try many items. The place was fairly empty because I don't think a lot of people know about it yet. The waitress/owner was lovely and attentive managing all the tables by herself. The ambiance was pretty quiet but laid back. Definitely a great place to have good conversations with friends over amazing food.
Peashoot - I regularly cook/eat this at restaurants and this was so much better than any I've tried. It's a Chinese staple but Driftwood was able to add subtle changes that infused it with so much more flavor
Mala Tots - This was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The way tater tots are supposed to be!
Roasted Bone Marrow - This was good but we thought it was going to be the star of the show. My favorite part was actually the buttered toast which had a sweetness that balanced really nicely with the salty gremolata.
BLT Fried Rice - Funnily, the next day I went to another famous restaurant that also served BLT Fried Rice. Driftwood's version was 10x better. It is heavy because of the bacon fat but it was also so delicious and well executed. The runny egg was a perfect touch.
Rice Noodle Roll - This was the surprise hit. It looked interesting but none of us expected to be blown away. Parmesan on rice noodle??? We were all fighting for the last piece because it was that good.
Driftwood Boil - If you are a fan of Boils, this is the typical fair. Nothing surprising except for the quail egg which my companions were very excited for.
Milk Tea Pudding - O M G. This is sooo dangerous. I love earl grey and pudding so I had to get this. It had a strong tea taste while being so creamy. The Crumble and honeycomb added the texture and shocks of sweetness. I could've had a bucket of this. Only way it would've been better is if it was a panna cotta. I'm drooling as I'm typing.
Maesil Soda - This was surprisingly good! It was refreshing, sour and sweet which helped cut the richness of some of the food.
Although the portions are on the smaller side since they are tapas style, they were actually so filling. All of us were able to have multiple bites of everything and we left so full and so happy. I will definitely be returning.
Parking: We found parking right in front of the restaurant. I wouldn't say it's super easy but I think you can find something by circling the block. Also as dinner was 8PM, the street parking was free.“

“Double Malatang is truly an uncut gem in terms of location food and service. I have gone around five times now and really enjoy the food. I love the spice level and it is very appropriate given the levels provided. I had the malatang about 4 times and the dry hot pot once. The beauty in this place is the ability to truly pick what you'd like to eat and cater it to your liking. It is pretty self explanatory : You pick things you like, they cook it and you eat. Tons of asian classics from mungbean to wood ear mushroom to fuzhonesee fish balls and many many more. The drink options include your traditional fare of Sodas alongside some other hidden treats (HK style iced tea) and many more. The service is absolutely amazing. The staff even with a language barrier are very nice and helpful and always offer a smile. I have gone 5 times and have not left disappointed once. If you read this review, let's support small businesses in our towns. Finally, the best part : the food. I really enjoyed the food it was the perfect level of acidity to spice to mouth-numbing sensation. My only advice for anyone eating is to eat with your brain and not your eyes or else you'll overorder. IMO : This place is a solid 5/5. I really recommend you try this. If you're scared or intimidated don't be! the first step to a great meal : is to venture out into something new.
Vegetarian options: Noodles vegetables and tons of tofu choices!“

“Just a great place to chill and good selection of beers drafted and bottled. Been here a couple times and the fries and nachos here have always been great. They have a punching machine and board games if you’re into that. No loud music blasting and the bathroom is cleaning. The staff seem nice and attentive. no really complaints. Definitely check out if you in the area“

$5.5-Fried Pork Dumplings (6) 10/10 it was thick & the chill oily sauce made 10x better

“Very good rice balls, decent size, rice was chewy. Love that I can adjust the sugar for my HK milk tea to make it less sweet. The extremely spicy noodles wasn't too spicy, it's somewhere around a medium spicy, and make sure to add ginger sauce to the clay pot rice.“

“The food was excellent and well priced we each got miso soup and sushi rolls and everything was delicious and came out promptly and the service was really good. The sake and wine were pretty well priced and were also very tasty.
Vegetarian options: The miso soup was a delicious vegetarian option the mushrooms made the broth a little heartier and they add pepper to the soup so it has a good mix of flavors.
Dietary restrictions: I came here with someone who is allergic to shellfish and there was plenty of options that didn't contain shellfish and they seemed to be really good about cross contamination considering a lot of the menu items did contain shellfish.
Parking: There were a few spots on the street and the street parking is metered until 7pm on weekdays.“

“The best salad I've had in the area so far. Greens and chicken were fresh and flavorful, and of course the vibes inside are amazing, too! I also appreciated the handicap door button as a wheelchair user, though if the owners read this, it didn't seem to be working the last time I went in--the door doesn't close the whole way so it may not be able to open with button.“
“Overall this place is great. To get any negatives out of the way, the abrasive glow from the theater across the street took me out of it a little bit. Also the mocktails we got were overly sweet and lacked flavor. However the food was yummy - we had the samosa sampler, fried paneer (pretty okay not the best), and butter chicken with naan and rice. The butter chicken stole the show for sure. The staff was friendly and attentive and service was fairly quick for a Saturday evening. If you need something near Times Square that's not insanely overpriced for the value, try Saar!!!“

“Walked in w my wife. Parking was easy to find at night. Gladly, there were plenty of seats available tonight. Ordered summer rolls w shrimp, papaya salad, pho Bo, and special pho.
The appetizer summer rolls with the brown sauce/peanuts were great for getting my stomach ready. Papaya salad has a pang of spicy oil(tolerable) and healthy sweet vinegar flavor. It made my lips warmed up as well as made me cough once I got too close to it. We kept ended up finishing before the phos came out.
Special pho was satisfying. I liked having plenty of bean sprouts. Broth had a good umami taste as expected from bone broth. There were abundant beef slices in two different size and color. Tripes were chewy n crunchy.
Overall, solid for late evening dinner.“

“Purple Rice is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! The people were friendly, and the food was packed with rich flavors. “Ottimo ristorante di Ramen (giapponese e non quello "tarocco" o fatto con quello istantaneo del supermercato) che offre anche una fantastica selezione di ravioli. Prezzi tutto sommato accettabili per la media della città e acqua gratuita. Posto piccolo, accogliente, staff cordiale e velocissimo. Porzioni corpose quindi ordinate con cautela o non riuscirete a finire tutto.“

“I was craving some sushi and my husband suggested this restaurant. I’m always iffy about where I get sushi, but the reviews looked promising, so we gave it a go. I ordered a salmon roll and spicy tuna roll and on a whim, added an order of coconut shrimp. I’m so glad I did because the coconut shrimp was AMAZING! It’s honestly the best I’ve ever had! The sushi was also really good - very fresh. This is definitely my new go-to place for Asian fusion!“

“I grew up in Elmhurst and getting skewers at this neighborhood staple as a snack was always a treat I looked forward to. Now, I’m happy that we can buy as many skewers as we dare (before we pass the threshold of waking up with a sore throat the next morning). This Chinese BBQ skewer cart is a no-frills, mom and pop food stand on the corner of Whitney Ave & Broadway by the LIRR tracks. Most of their skewers cost between $2-$3; they’re perfect for a late night eats adventure! The seasoning the sweet Chinese couple uses has just the right amount of cumin, heat, and spice. We sat at one of their 3 tables this past Monday evening and saw a steady stream of customers lining up for their grilled skewers. When all 3 tables were full, a 4th table and set of stools was set up as well. The cart is at their spot daily between 5:30pm-1:30am - you’ll find them if you see the smoke!? “Miss home, so searched up solid taiwanese spot. The pan-fried dumping 鍋貼 ("guo-tie") was exactly how I needed it to be. The popcorn chicken was not as salty as I thought and had a thicker coating than the other ones I have tried in other restaurants. Overall, I was very happy to have visited.
Coming back for the dumplings again.“

“What a surprise on the upper east side! Was able to have a conversation without a big crowd, and had plenty of room at the bar before taking our table. Very welcoming and unassuming staff.
