“OMG, The food, service and overall experience was amazing. Dan and the guys behind the bar made sure it was an excellent experience. Will be going back every year on St. Patrick’s day.🍀”
“Spent several late afternoons/early evenings at Doar Bros. last week and had a great time! Jake and Stephen are artists in creating phenomenal craft cocktails! JD, one of the owners, very personable and welcoming! All great guys! If you're in to cocktailing, no trip to Charleston is complete without a stop at Doar Bros.! Cheers!”
“We were at Halls Chop House on April 12th for our 50th Anniversary. We have been to a lot of great restaurants in our time together but none compare to Halls! The level of kindness and service is unmatched. Our meal was outstanding! Brooke, our server was an absolute delight!”

“Just absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! I may have eaten three of the Wagyu rolls. We had awesome Sake! Kazuyuki and Chris know their stuff, pay attention to every detail and take the time to talk to their patrons. Maybe the best food in Charleston. Can’t wait to go back in a couple weeks!!”
“Simply perfection! The oyster selection is otherworldly. The chargrilled oysters the best Ive had in my life. (Florida born an culinary chef.) The peel & eat shrimp so plump and served ice cold I have craved them since I had them. The service was above and beyond. The atmosphere encouraged private chatter but also conversation with next table easily. Friendly and cheerful and above all excellent food served with smiles, suggestions, and ease. I will never visit Charleston again without making sure to dine here. (Do not eat the soup. I actually sent it back to the kitchen. Never have I had to do that. ) Highly recommend again and again for everything else.”

“Charming southern fare in a beautiful Victorian setting! The shrimp dumplings are a standout—perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. The cozy, historic ambiance adds to the experience, making it a must-visit spot in Charleston. Great service and a menu that truly captures the essence of Southern cuisine. Highly recommend!”

“Yet another great experience at Charleston Grill. We try to come here whenever we visit Charleston. The service is always awesome and the food is great. You get what you pay for... it's not inexpensive. The Crab Cake is always a great appetizer. And the scallops are beautiful prepared. We'll be back!”
“It was an unplanned visit to High Cotton. Our party was very underdressed. The hostess was quite pompous and gave the impression we should go elsewhere. Obviously if it was a planned dinner we would have been well dressed. The food was exceptional. The staff were incredible. But our waiter, Jamal, made our experience very memorable. He made sure we were welcome despite our attire. Jamal and my 11 year old grandson became good friends for the evening. Jamal was impressed with my grandson's order of a pot of mussels in garlic sauce, smoked duck, lobster mac and cheese and strawberry shortcake. Jamal was the highlight of our evening. Our family highly recommend you ask for Jamal if you visit High Cotton. The next visit we will look our finest and definitely ask for Jamal.”
“Was absolutely mazing… but the little nibbles are over priced. You can come as you are to this place and I love that the champagne and whites are right there and ready to serve. Caviar cone; sooooo good, but a single bite for 13…..Oysters were soooo fresh and I am picky, but the vinaigrette they have is yummy!!!”
“I have a long, productive day where I celebrating accepting a new job with CPI Security and hanging out with Dad today who lives adlund the corner on Society. Both my parents came here back in the 60's. It was phenomenal and very enjoyable! They staff killer - very friendly. Also, I'm a former craft cocktail bartender with a fairly refined palette and that Manhattan was fire! 🔥✌🏼”
“Food is always a 10/10 and the service is always warm, friendly, and helpful! We love the OG Garlic noodles and the general Gerry’s chicken! Not a stretch to say it is my favorite fried chicken outside of Korea I’ve ever had. Janet, Christian, Becca were incredible tonight but MICHAEL always goes above and beyond for the guests. We really appreciate the entire staff here.”
“Had brunch today. Food was good. The chicken and waffle was really tasty.”

“I have ordered several different things from this truck, and have yet to have a bad experience. Delicious coffee and the guy who serves it is extremely knowledgeable about where the beans come from and what is the best type of flavor, and can help you decide what is best. I look forward to getting it every time I see them.”
“We only stayed here 1 day but we really enjoyed ourselves. The Staff is excellent and very friendly and honest. We checked out in a hurry and I left my wallet in the room. It was returned to me via express mail after they called me to let me know . I didn't even realize at that point it was missing. Edwin was a great help. Everyone there was super nice. The courtyard is an awesome hang out spot, great drinks.👍👍😁”
“Stepped out of our typical places to eat to try Azur and we were really impressed. Food, drinks, and service were all top tier. Pedro and Chris were great bartenders who made sure our experience was absolutely excellent.”

Takeout Restaurants
“Besides the food quality being 1000000%, the owners/sandwich slingers are amazing at their craft and truly take the time and care to ensure an amazing feasting experience. From the food & drink selection all the way down to the playful names for each sandwich (and the hilarious art in the bathrooms) the total vibe is 💯 ❤️ 10/10 recommend. Support your local sandwich master!”
“I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! Although we didn’t have a reservation, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our large party and quickly arranged a lovely table for our group. When we asked for recommendations, our waiter suggested a family-style three-course meal, and we couldn’t be happier with his suggestion! Each course was beautifully presented, and simply delicious. From appetizers to desserts, every dish was crafted with care and creativity. It was a wonderful way to experience the menu and share in the joy of great food together. If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor and dine here—you won’t regret it! Thank you for an amazing experience; I can’t wait to return!”
“I asked my fiancé to find a nice coffee shop that also sells beer in Charleston. After her google search, she asked our friends at The Lucky Luchador and they also recommended your establishment. I was definitely impressed with the atmosphere and selection of beer that was available. I will be coming back soon and will be your ugliest ambassador!!! 😊”
“Wow! This is by far the BEST fried chicken I've ever had! And let me tell you, I despise lemonaid but I tried theirs once and ordered a giant cup and loved it! Highly recommend coming here. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in town!”

Drive-Thru Restaurants
“Hmmm I really enjoyed bar George but a few things probably keeps it from being one I’ll frequent. First they only had one variety of oyster. And it was ok. But then they didn’t have horseradish for it. I get that everyone wants to be fancy with mignonette but have a lil on the side for us common folks. LOL
Now all that said I also had a small peach Caesar salad that was delicious and the drinks have the best curly straw around!”
“I have been Rancho Lewis several times before and have always enjoyed it. It was a nice place to be on a cold and rainy day. Our server was attentive and the food was very flavorful. We were a group of ladies chatting and reminiscing and catching up with one another. All of us exclaimed over the large portion sizes. My Christmas Burrito was so large that I was able to have it for dinner. I will definitely go back.”
“The Cold Shoulder Gourmet will make you reevaluate what a sandwich should be. Also, your life choices, your religion, everything. I found it to be that profound. Turkey and cheese your thing? This isn't the place. If you want to push the limits of taste and pairings in the beloved format of a sandwich this is the guy. I can't describe the sandwiches he makes but i assure you that you've never had a better one. One man show and he is just the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Makes you feel like an old friend. Sandwiches are to go and maybe that's part of his vision. Take his masterpieces somewhere that you can relax and really try to understand what he has created. He sells out early so get there early. I can't rate higher than a 5 but this is truly sandwich art. Deserving of a 100/5”
“First time in Charleston, SC and the first spot to eat while here and what a great first choice!! Shawn was our server and he was great and friendly!! We had the bookmaker sandwich which was fantastic! The Guinness beef stew was amazing! Definitely try the shepherds pie which was so freaking good! We came on an open mic night and all the entertainers were great. All in all great place for sure, if you are in the area make sure you stop in and enjoy the food and atmosphere. Next time I’m in town I will most def be back! Thanks Shawn for a great experience!”
“Outstanding meal from the drinks to the she crab soup to the delicious entrees. The key lime pie was a great ending to the meal. Sara was fantastic and made wonderful suggestions for food - she had perfect timing and had just the right amount of conversation with us. Truly a memorable meal and reasonably priced, especially for Charleston. Will be back next time we are in town.”

Fine Dining
“I found out about Southbound, through my job. I had to go do some work there, and found the owner and everyone there, super friendly. Most people at restaurants ignore working people while they are there. As my 42nd anniversary was quickly approaching, I decided to give this place a try. Some of my past picks, have not been the best. Southbound cleared EVERY hurdle I have about restaurants. From the moment we approached the restaurant, great service began! While coming thru the gate, the hostess yelled out, "HEY LARRY" and then said, "This must be your beautiful wife"! Like CHEERS, it felt great to go somewhere, "Where everybody knows your name" We were seated and got to view the open fire oven. I had dropped off 42 roses the week before for them to put on our table, for my wife. Tropical storm Debbie, and downtown flooding prevented us from going exactly on our anniversary. I was worried that store bought roses, would not last thru the weeklong delay, Joel assured me everything would be taken care of, and not to worry. As we were seated, there on the table, sat 42 roses. Fresh, and arranged with baby breath flowers included. I was told the young lady with the hostess had arranged them. They were gorgeous! They also had an anniversary card on the table from them, not something I had dropped off. The service was tremendous, the food indescribably outstanding! I have only had steak Tar Tar once before in my life, and was greatly afraid to try it again, as the first time was awful. It was superb! They take great pride in the presentation of their food products. I felt like I was in an episode of Master Chef. We had the steak, as well as the Sea bass, okra, corn, sweet potatoes, and the Caramel cake. Everything absolutely wonderful! This was a truly wonderful and memorable dining experience!! I would give 100 stars, and a Siskel and Ebert two thumbs up! There was only one thing I was disappointed about. No sweet tea! Were In Charleston SC, no sweet tea. Everything else totally made up for it though. The staff even had everyone present sign a menu, wishing us a happy anniversry1 I will most definatly go there again for a special occasion. Thanks to Andrew, Joel, and the entire staff, for making this night special!!”
“Truly an experience unlike any other. From the caviar pairings, the variety of mignonettes & wines from all over the world, the learning experience behind each & every course - it’s as if Kevin has put you & 11 strangers on a rollercoaster that he somehow is navigating for hours. Never having tried caviar before, I’m so happy this place was my first. The amount you learn in just this experience alone is worth the price in my opinion. Not to mention Kevin’s got the best music selection on this side of the Mississippi. Put Raw Lab on your bucket list, you won’t regret it!”
“Excellent food
A great diverse menu.
Super staff
Parking: Some free spots at the restaurant or the aquarium city garage around the corner”
“When you go sit at the kitchen counter. Loved watching the cooks.”

“@TheeholycityConcierge
Passion, Love and innovation! That's what I think of each pastry that Welton's handcrafts! I have had the pleasure of having them cater to my property every Thursday and it has QUICKLY become a weekly favorite! Super hospitable as well! The line is because its WELL WORTH IT! Thank you all so much for the love and care you give us! I highly recommend adding this spot to your weekly routine!”
“A real gem! We stopped in for a drink and to perhaps try a "plate"
We were there for 4hrs.
The atmosphere is fresh, yet cozy. It's a tiny place, so everyone is right there, attentive to our needs. The music is relaxing yet upbeat, transporting you out to the world and yet not too loud for conversation! The menu looks simple but when you eat from it, you realize how thoughtfully put together each dish is! Pistachio-Parmesan Salad, Shrimp Toast were our picks and were both outstanding.”
“Not sure why this location has a lower rating than the other. I had a great time at both locations and I’m glad I went out of my way to pop into this one. If I was local I’d be a regular for sure! I sat at the bar top and enjoyed my coffee and people watching. The team work and way the staff interacted with each other made it known that it was a well run establishment. Great job, Babas!”
“We adored this place! We accidentally found the downtown Charleston location during our stay there at a close AirBNB! We visited 3 times in our 2.5 days there. Then, we passed by the John’s Island location on our way to Kiawah and decided to make the 25 min drive the next morning for our coffee and pop tart fix! Great coffee, service, pastries, toasts and local drink and food finds!”
“Ordered takeout for two sandwiches, the Italian girl and the Italian boy! Really good sandwiches - super filling, great flavor. $17 each.
The only thing to note is that both sandwiches (both halves of each) had a horizontal toothpick in them. Usually they’re vertical to keep the sandwich together but a couple bites into the sandwich, bit right into the toothpick. Feels extremely dangerous.”
“Service and atmosphere is amazing, the pastries and coffee are always solid, the food can be hit or miss as its a bit on the sweet side sometimes could use spice or salt , and the quiche texturally has been a bit strange from time to time with the occasional charred cheese on top but never terrible.”
“Located within the Charles Towne Fermatory, Bok Choy Boy is SO good! Truly a hidden gem. We got the dumplings, hot buns, and croffles (strawberry, s’mores and Oreo) and everything was phenomenal. We ordered more to go because it was so good. Will definitely be returning!”
“Brunch was Fantastic! Had Scallop Benny & Shrimp & Grits. Outdoor & indoor seating. Great service & atmosphere!!”
“This was a first for my wife and I to experience French Cuisine for her Burfday and Brasserie La Banque met all of our expectations and also surpassed those through their hospitality and being sure their patrons were treated as royalty. We will definitely be dining there again as soon as possible.”
“Dinner was very good & everyone was so very nice. Had reservations & they seated us at 5. It was Mothers Day& graduation week so they were really busy BUT no one made us feel rushed. We will definitely come back..”
“Was absolutely mazing… but the little nibbles are over priced. You can come as you are to this place and I love that the champagne and whites are right there and ready to serve. “One of the best restaurants in Charleston. Very creative menu. 3 people on our night out each dish was amazing.
Vegetarian options: Very accommodative regarding my wife's shellfish allergy.”
“Love coming here for the Catfish Sandwich and frozen Cin and Tonic!”
“I have mixed feelings. Our first visit was over a decade ago and it was wonderful. Our anniversary was yesterday and it was an ok experience. We sat in the courtyard AB’s was placed under the above heater. We started smelling gas and the heat never reached the table area. So we were freezing. The appetizers were wonderful. The couple got seated next to us ten minutes after us and received their food first. Was told about different and best food options and a dessert menu. We were not given either. Bbq in the shrimp and grits was over powering any other flavor. Husband got fish and grits and it was excellent. Not a 0 but I’m in no hurry to go back or recommend to anyone else. Ruined my anniversary to be honest….”
“Service, ambiance, and cuisine all extraordinary! Now one of my favorite restaurants of all time! Thank you Shane and your expert staff!!”
“Diana was amazing!! She made great suggestions and it was delicious. She was wonderful with the kids, which we always appreciate. The food was great, but the service was outstanding!!”

“Wonderful meal and fabulous service - looking forward to going back soon!”
“The food was incredible and our server, Courtney B was outstanding!! Courtney helped us select the perfect items and she made it fun!! Awesome!”
“Came for lunch today and the food, service and portions were great! Highly recommend the Buttermilk Catfish Sandwich with the sauce that comes with truffle fries instead of mayo!”
“we had dinner there last night with 35 guests.we were served family style and everything was delicious.service was excellent even with the large crowd
That was probably the best prime rib I’ve had in a long time
Thanks for making our night special
Jack Krauss”
“Had Kamayan Sunday yesterday and it was wonderful! Everything from starter soup, the included drink, all the way to dessert (corn sorbet with fruity pebbles?!), was awesome. Service = fantastic”
“We stumbled into the rooftop for a bachelorette party and had the most amazing time. Dana was the most caring waitress. She recommended drinks to the group, hand delivered shots to the photo booth for the bride, and gave us advice about the city! The drinks were lived by the group! Go here and ask for Dana!”
“Vern’s Restaurant in downtown Charleston truly exceeded our expectations and left us with an unforgettable dining experience. The food was exceptional—quite possibly the best meal we have ever had.”
“Best meal, service, and atmosphere we've had in Charleston! All our food was delicious, but the shrimp and grits was out of this world! Best decision we made was to eat there.”
“If you could rent this place at 10 stars for food service and atmosphere I would. Definitely hits one of the top restaurants in Charleston in all of those categories. Highly recommend. Yours truly, a foodie”
“We had my birthday dinner here. Cozy yet lively setting. Service was outstanding and every single item we ordered was phenomenal. Beer and wine selection is superb. Short Ribs and Crispy Eggplant are a must!”
“The food was amazing the crystal was an amazing server prompt attentive ever though the whole restaurant was slammed 10 out of 10 would ear here again”
“I tried only the Pulpo and the Bomba. By far the Bomba was the best. I expected the Pulpo be more grilled but it was great, not chewy but soft and tender.
The latino (forgot his name) server was very kind and knowledgeable of the dishes.”
“Thank you for having Charleston Society of Horror yesterday for our monthly meeting! We had a wonderful time. The food was great, service was even better and we will be back.”
“Phenomenal food and atmosphere. Get the “dessert bread” appetizer if you come. Had the grouper on special and it was incredible”
“Absolutely nothing disappointed at Burwell’s. The food. The ambience. The service (Mylie!). All impeccable. We started with the deviled eggs which all future deviled eggs will now be compared to. Seriously — amazing. Next, we split the Caesar salad. Finally, we were wanting great steak, and we got it! My husband ordered the filet with the steakhouse classic presentation and the horseradish. He is a huge steak fanatic and very picky, and he appreciated the flavors and said he would definitely return. I got the flat iron wagyu and filet duo on the lava stone. I also ordered the side of Mac and cheese. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth good. I enjoyed the béarnaise and horseradish. My husband tried the house steak sauce and also enjoyed it. We were too stuffed to order dessert, but they did bring us two cookies the pastry chef designed, and my word I’ve never had better cookies. Brown butter s’mores. Delicious. Don’t pass up Burwell’s!!”
“1st time eating there and OMG!! Delicious!!! Must try the pork rind nachos .. it’s a must!!”

“Food was excellent! Our server was excellent as well. We will be back!”
“Terrific Experience - very interesting presentation and we loved the food too!”
“Andrew was excellent and very present and an amazing bartender. The other bartender that was working rushed us out of the restaurant saying we needed to “chug” our drinks so we can get out in time before they close. As someone who works food and bev, I understand the wanting to close up and get out, but he rushed us. Frankly, it was very rude and unprofessional. I have never been to a place that essentially tried to kick us out because we were not finishing our drinks fast enough. The service is usually extremely awesome but tonight i was disappointed in how uncomfortable i was that we were rushed out of there.”
“We were In Charleston for a quick 2 day visit and wanted to eat great food. After eating at Amen Street for dinner the first night we knew this was the BEST in town so didn’t venture any further the second night. The oysters 🦪 were fabulous whether in shooters or baked! Great fresh fish and shrimp and even the salads were delicious. Highly recommend! We even went to their sister restaurant while staying in Isle of Palms.”

“Great food awesome atmosphere. Service was awesome. Ate at the bar and it was perfect”
“We had a wonderful experience last night at Bearcat. We had a rare "date night" and chose to sit at the bar while electing for the chefs tasting menu. WOW. The food was incredible, the service top notch and attentive. The whole experience was refined - plating, presentation, and even little history lessons while being served - but it was never "poncy" or "snooty" - it felt like anyone could come in, have an INCREDIBLE meal, fun conversation, and become part of the Bearcat family. We'll definitely be back- the scallops dish and the pork belly dish will be menu items I dream of until we return! P S. don't sleep on the cocktails! Whether ordering from the thoughtfully designed menu or requesting something creative from the bar team's minds - you won't be disappointed!”
“Pleasantly surprised by this one as some of the other restaurants owned by this group fall short on execution. Not so here, everything was spot on and we'll be back! Favorite dish on a cool winter night, the Short Rib.”
“Excellent service! The atmosphere was an amazing place to grab a drink and/or eat for the evening while socializing.”
“We went here on Sunday for dim sum. It was absolutely awesome. The only letdown was that there were no noodles available, We made up for it with other substitutions.”
“Holy crap, Red Palm’s food is fantastic. Service is top notch. Highly recommend . Definitely a must stop in Charleston”
“Food was so good! The steak fajitas and fried tacos are a must have. Wasn’t a big fan of the coconut shrimp tacos. The guacamole was amazing. Friendly service.”
“Trendy, fun rooftop bar with amazing views! Pricey drinks but you pay for the setting, which is so fun! Perfect for a date night or a girls night out! Great service also!!”
“Can’t rave about this place enough. We are visiting and were recommended we try Ma’am Saab. The service is top tier- both the GM & Owner introduced themselves to us. The lemonade, absolutely to die for. It’s fresh squeezed and homemade. The food was phenomenal. We got the wings, the zucchini, and butter chicken. 10/10!!!”
“Food was creative and delicious. Started with buffalo cauliflower. Then corn ribs and a side of tofu. Omnivore partner had the veggie burger and loved it! Great vibe. Will definitely go back!”
“Remarkable zero-proof and high-rest cocktails. The homemade gingerbeers and flavored tonics are spectacular. Try the Aloe Cucumber Tonic.”
“The atmosphere was nice the food was amazing and the drinks were delicious! Also the dessert was yummy! Nice place to relax eat good food and unwind!”
“Not just a meal, but an experience. My taste buds are still craving everything at Wild Common. I would go back in a heartbeat. The food, wine som, creative cocktails, and atmosphere are 5 stars!”
“Everything was a hit! Cheddar bacon fries with the cheddar dust, amazing. Black and blue burger, fried shrimp, and the Harlow, the best hands down. Then there’s the MASSIVE banana pudding. We live in Summerville, but will for sure be making the trip back!”
“Unbelievable food! Great place and fast service even at lunch hour. We went there today at 12:00. The line went fast. The Baracoa was incredible and the hash and rice was the best I have ever had. Highly recommend this very unique and different place for BBQ fans.”
“Best experience well recommended. Ashley is the best server ever!!!!”
“Stopped in for a happy hour drink on the way to meet family for dinner (so we didn’t eat here). Had great cocktails created by our skilled and friendly bartender. Highly recommend!”

“An entertaining chef, creative and exceptionally well-executed cuisine, a pleasingly funky ambience, and the delight at watching a fine chef at work, which equals a terrific experience.”
“Amazing food, atmosphere and staff! Sushi and cocktails were phenomenal!”
“I visited this restaurant for the first time on a weekday in May 2025, and had lunch. It was superb! Delicious food, good service, good music, and a very attractive interior..... and this little storefront eatery is located right there on fashionable King Street. I highly recommend Fuji Sushi on Upper King.”

“Visiting Charleston,SC, needed something filling . Found New York Pizza on East Bay Street. The young lady April who took my order over the phone was wonderful. She was most helpful in suggesting the amount and toppings. My mobility issues allowed me to go to the Lobby and receive my Pizza. Leo brought it to the desk, he was very nice, appreciative and caring. April and Leo are great employees to have, they accommodate others issues and make it happen. I am most grateful and thankful. My Pizza,Side Salad, Strawberry Lemonade mad the difference also. Thank you again and again April and Leo.”
“We come to Kiawah Island for many years. One of our high high Lights is dining at Aji. We are from New Jersey and had the pleasure of having dined with on the delicacies created by Tim at our local sushi restaurant and are jealous that folks in Charleston have access to this great restaurant. We look forward to returning later in the year.”
“I was lucky to stumble upon Dellzville while in Charleston. I pre-0rderd their Harvest Feast for Thanksgiving. It was by far one of the best vegan meals I have had!! I didn’t feel like I was lacking anything with the rest of my family filling up on their traditional meal. PS..mine looked and tasted better! My only regret is that I should have ordered a second platter for leftovers.”
“I am so upset that we’ve never ordered from here before!! It was the best pizza and pasta we’ve ever gotten in the Charleston area. I would even compare it to the food we got in Little Italy in NY. The pizza is superb with the best crust, sauce and mozzarella!! The spaghetti with marinara and the Lasagna were AMAZING as well. It’s our new go to for pizza and pasta!!”
“This place is a super gem. After trying other Pho places, I found this one to be best. The chef sat down with me and explained how she makes the broths from scratch (no MSG!) Portions are huge with very fresh meats and vegetables. The pho is served with a side plate of limes, cilantro and/or basil and bean sprouts. The place is clean and the staff is great. Love, love this place!”
“Great customer service! Amanda went out of her way to make sure my grandchildren got hot chocolate after 3 other places ran out! The other staff members were great too! So friendly and helpful! Will definitely be returning to purchase more delicious cookies! So many to choose from yet so hard to choose!”
“First time visit recommended by nephew. Great food, great server and prompt service. Always try to be considerate in not overstaying our welcome when people are waiting to be seated. We finished our lunch having been there a total of one hour , enjoying talk with nephew who we hadn’t seen in months when another employee rudely and abruptly said “so, are you ready to settle up?” Never have we felt like we were being ejected from a restaurant! And the real rub is there were at least 3 empty tables and a booth in our seating area. We three were so stunned by her rude manners, we politely gave her our card, (and she took the liberty of pre-selecting a 22% tip which we gladly gave our server)paid our bill and left - NEVER TO RETURN!”

“This is my favorite CD location. You can't beat the view. The is always so good. My favorites are the CD salad and fried crab claws for an appetizer. Last night I tried something new with the crab cake sinner. It was so good. I loved the sauce and the crab meat was fresh lump crab. You must try it. Oh, and the espresso martini was awesome as well. Their servers are a cut above.”
“I'm not going to lie, El Jefe was a backup plan after our original choice for lunch was unexpectedly closed. That being said, I was surprisingly impressed and would recommend consideration for lunch while in Charleston.
They greet you with free chips and salsa. I personally loved the chips and thought the salsa was above average as well. You then get a decent sized menu to select typically tex-mex options. I appreciated being able to mix and match taco styles to try different things. The taco portion was fair and also tasty.
I didn't get a drink but they had plenty of choices. I also saw they offer bull riding, which I'm sure is a hit in the evening. I wish I remembered our servers name, as he was very polite and was training a new server who was also excellent.
Overall, a pleasant surprise. I don't expect to be in Charleston in the near term, but I'll keep this place in mind for lunch on any future visit.”
“Yesterday treated my parents to what they both said was the best restaurant meals they have enjoyed in the wider Charleston area - soft shell crab and grilled seafood trio in many attempts. Outside on the patio with an incredibly gracious and attentive server (Kathy Lynn? - a recent transfer from Phoenix) made the experience all the more remarkable. We’ll be back and as this review attests - will recommend to others. Thanks for your successful efforts.”
“FABULOUS smoked brisket/turkey ...sides are southern at its best...Local favorite....can't wait to go back!!!!!”
