“Kikka makes the refrigerated sushi at Whole Foods Streeterville. IDK much about transport or where it's made/assembled but salmon looks great that's supposed to expire tomorrow (see photo).Refrigerated SALMON NIGIRI tasted as good as just-made Nigiri. ? I did read the ingredients lists, nothing suspicious/unreadable.Refrigerated NIGIRI RICE still tasted soft and intact.Refrigerated SALMON was buttery on each bite with zero resistance. Edges were not dry at all.I did check out the ROLLS as well, it didn't look as good as the Salmon selections.Please add additional soy sauce packet.At $14, it's an average price but certainly much better quality, thickness and size than other restaurants. As a TO-GO, tip is eliminated. Accessible.“

“I enjoyed the food. I ordered it through Uber eats and Tosai Kitchen packed really well. The miso soup was covered in plastic wrap and then closed with the lid to prevent a spill, the food was placed in a brown paper bag and then stapled in a secure way so the food would not move around during transportation. I got the Miso Soup, Shrimp Dumpling and Salmon Avocado Roll, everything tasted great, looked presentable and I wouldn’t mind ordering from them again.“

“Was going with my sister to her appointment at a near by office. She was hungry and wanted something light to eat, so sushi seemed like the perfect choice. Being our first time, we didn’t know there were no menus and it was the chef’s selection. I don’t this guy, we were walking out the door and almost left, BUT, so glad we didn’t because it was amazing! Incredibly unique and delicious food, along with an entertaining education while enjoying our meal. The owners a good guy who takes a tremendous amount of pride in what he prepares for his guests. “I've been wanting to try different omakase places in the LA area for a while now, and stumbled upon Omakase by Ozen online - and I'm glad I came! Reservations were made quickly and easily via Yelp, and I love that I was able to change my reservation time without much of a hassle. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate after I took the MCAT, so we were extremely hungry when we got here. I think this place might have had valet out front, but we opted to just find street parking in the neighborhood for a ~5 minute walk (which worked out afterwards since it let us walk off our food!). The actual restaurant is a very small and quaint place; we sat at a table instead of the bar but I thought the decorations were very cute. Service was very fast and attentive. They handed us a menu as soon as we came in, and we ordered the $130 omakase - which was a pretty good deal for the quality of the food and the whole experience. I do have to say that I was not full after the meal (so my boyfriend and I ended up getting more food afterwards at a different place), but I did enjoy my time here. Definitely worth a try if you're celebrating because of the food and the service, but I personally don't think I'd come back for the omakase.“

The ability to deliver dish after dish that could stand alone as signature dishes at nearly any other restaurant while combining the refinement and attention to detail that comes from years of experience in fine dining with a fun energetic atmosphere is truly special. Unfortunately Jonny Won (?) left couple of years ago but the current Chef is more than capable of upholding this restaurant's glowing reputation for exceptionally fresh ingredients and superb cooking skills. “First time visiting Ocean Sushi, I had the “Sensual Pressure Roll” and “Salmon Handroll” , The salmon, and spicy bay scallop which melted in your mouth. The rice was just perfect on all of the pieces, not overly moist, yet firm and unadulterated. The spicy tuna were mild spicy and fragrant, the fresh salmon tasted better than anything I've had.The blue crab baked hand roll had all the flavors and real non-imitation crab was something very unique and worth a try.And new menu called, “Caribbean Roll” were above average, fresh albacore sashimi with spicy tuna and my favorite crispy onion; with house sauce and garnish that added more texture and flavor.Lastly the toro sushi seems basic, but they prove how good they are, melt and fresh. they made a something basic into something extravagant.All the servers are welcoming and friendly. “Azai is a great new spot for hand rolls and sushi! They give you a lot of fish in the hand rolls and there's a really good variety of items on the menu. The yellowtail and tuna nigiri were delicious and my favorite was the yellowtail jalapeño yuzu sashimi special. Save room for the mochi ice cream for dessert!“

“Hidden away in the city of Los Angeles is this amazing bar that serves one of the tastiest omakase. Entering the bar, you see a bar top that seats approx 10-12 people, with a open kitchen vibe. My partner and I had a great time. The Sunday crew was very nice and attentive, engaging with the customers and making things fun! The selection of fish was amazing, definitely a different experience compared to other omakase establishments I've been to.Parking was very easy since they provided easy simple instructions on their website :). “Susuru holds a special place in my heart. I’ve tried a number of items on their menus and everything is ???. I can’t stress enough about how good this ramen is. I’ve only known about Susuru for a month or so but have eaten here over 8 times. All of the broths are rich and authentic. The Thai coconut curry ramen is mind blowing and a generous serving. My go tos are the Miso and Tonkatsu. Add spice for extra flavor. I brought my coworkers here and everyone’s bowls were finished down to the last drop of broth. Easily one of the best ramens shops in LA. It’s got a great mom and pop atmosphere. Food comes out quick. What else can I say, I’m in love with Susuru. Anytime I want ramen in the future, I’m going to come here. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water. ?“

“Okay nothing this good should be in Redondo Beach but it is? Shame on all of the other pretenders. It’s just that superb. Chef Jen scales the culinary heights of Parnassus with ease and grace. “Nozawa Bar was a great experience and we left very very very full. We booked a month ahead by phone and paid upfront. It's about $225 per person, and with drinks and tax, the bill totaled around $600. There were around 22 courses including dessert. The dishes were incredibly fresh and tasty. The most memorable courses were the Hokkaido Octopus, New Zeland Pink Lobster, Bluefin Tuna Akami, Santa Barbara Uni, Japanese Kinmedai, and the 3 different type of oysters (Kumiai, Kumamoto, Kusshi). There were however a few courses towards the end of the whole dinner that felt like filler pieces such as the Tamago, Maine Lobster, and Japanese Anago (sea eel) nigiri. I could have gone without those courses and felt the menu was a little overpacked. At then end, they gave us a passion fruit sorbet and hojicha tea which was the perfect way to end the dinner. Chef Fujita, his sous chefs, and the staff were very kind and lively. Dinner was very interactive because Chef Fujita made a lot of jokes and interacted with everyone. Dinner setting is also intimate as it is only 10 seats. Overall, great experience and would definitely come back!“

“This place from the moment you walk in the front door is beyond amazing! They’ve done an amazing job of setting one heck of secluded Tulum vibe but while being in the thick of it all. No detail was left out from the lush landscaping and impeccable design throughout to the delicious food and cocktail menu topped off with incredible service. We had the Crispy Rice with yellowtail and shishito peppers for starters both were some of the best we’ve had. We also had the sun fire roll and short ribs and all I can say is yum! “Amazing experience! I came here for my birthday dinner and the Tokyo omakase was to die for. One of the best meals I had in my life. The staff is very attentive and has great recommendations for which sake to order, you can tell that they really care about the dining experience. Each course was fresh and delicious and really highlighted the best flavors. I have never enjoyed uni before, but here it was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to be back next time I have something to celebrate.“

“My go-to place for sushi when I happen to be in LA. There are no reservations, so you typically have to wait, but for not a lot of time. They have the right match of service people to tables and their system works well. The fish is always fresh and the tip is a flat rate on the bill at 16%. It’s a pretty small place, so probably not good for groups larger than 6 or with picky eaters (this is a sushi restaurant and doesn’t have too much else). The only ding is the their app sometimes calls you for your table too early and you have to wait in the restaurant before they call you back up.“

“Chef is from Osaka Japan, he made great shari (slightly sweeter side as compared to Tokyo edomae purist style), nonetheless it was good texture, temperature. Most of fish from Japan. Kinmedai was excellent. So was Aji from Osaka. Tuna is from Hokkaido, taste similar to Ohma tuna, but slightly difficult. Chef knows edomae style and textures of fish, either natural or farm raised. Hope he carries more like Awabi, akagai, kohada, and more hikarimono next time. It was pleasant sushi dining experience.“

“My boyfriend and I got the omakase but to be honest it was not worth it, the food tasted great but you can get almost the exact same course by ordering the 10 piece nigiri from the menu for half of the price. The atmosphere is nice but not appropriate for a traditional omakase. Highly recommend, just save your money and skip out on the omakase.“

“This is a gem! I’m a big fan of Omakase sushi and this place did not disappoint. I highly recommend sitting at the bar. Service was impeccable, friendly, and always ready. Attention to detail was superb! I didn’t take any photos because they asked me to silence my phones (you can still take photos), but I wanted to be respectful and also focus on my taste buds and not my phone. Admittedly this place doesn’t look much from the outside (Weller Court could use some updates), but don’t be afraid to step inside. One suggestion for them is to have a sake pairing option as I am a sake lover. I did get their cold sake that ended up tasting wonderful, so I’m not complaining. As for price, I think it’s reasonable for an Omakase place like this. You’re really paying for the experience. Without drinks, I think it’s around $200 for a full course meal and tax/tip. “Met with a long time college friend here for lunch and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing, the mala taboki was my favorite. My friend and I shared 6 Yubu, sushi roll, and a hand roll to go. Staff was very friendly and we were told our food will take 10-15 mins to prepare due to the delicate and meticulous nature of preparation and honestly didn't mind. Can't rush good quality meal! “My teenagers and I were impressed with the simplicity of flavors of all our dishes. We started off with an assorted sashimi plate that had 3 pieces each of tuna, salmon, kampachi, and Japanese scallops and a plate of scallop carpaccio. It was soo yummy that we ordered another plate of scallop carpaccio and then we felt like we just had to try the kampachi carpaccio. Sooo good and the scallops just melt in your mouth! For our main dishes, we decided to share the Spicy Tonkotsu with extra bamboo shoots and the Truffle Butter Tonkotsu. The broths were very flavorful, the noodles fresh, and the chasu was delicious. For dessert, the friendly staff recommended the house-made Shio Koji ice cream with black sea salt to help cleanse our palates. It was very light and definitely refreshing. And I also tried the Genmaicha tea which was very light, aromatic, and soothing. All in all this place is a must go-to when you're in Ktown. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and very helpful for suggesting menu items. This is definitely our family's favorite find of the year!“

“want to start off by saying that this place is definitely timeless and i understand why it is one of the first ever sushi places in LA. The prices are unbelievable and i went with 2 other friends and ended up ordering a lot of food. The thing with sushi it’s hard to get full usually, but here the sushi that would be 2-3x the price is affordable and delicious. The atmosphere is great and authentic and your surroundings are pleasant and vibrant. “Great service! The lady at the register is so sweet with everyone who walks in the door. The sushi was fresh and priced reasonably. My favorite was the Tiger Roll. This place is more for takeout, they have a small seating area but no table service. Order at the register and pick up your order. I only knocked down one star for the wait time. I was told 20mins and it was more like 45mins. They seem really busy so I'd recommend to call ahead or expect to wait. Also, there is a 3.95% card fee if using a credit card so I paid with cash. I'll definitely return.“

A delicious batter that kept its integrity and highlighted the beauty of each ingredient being used. Loved having a tempura mushroom and the white fish was a unique and different touch.The nigiri- where the begin. All of it was delicious. For a party of two, we each walked away with eating $190 each which is a lot for how much we ordered truthfully but because the quality of the food was better that majority of the places we had, it was worth it and can’t wait to go back. No alcohol either. It was a treat to eat here and treat ourselves. The most delectable and fragile scallops that just melt in your mouth, the albacore was a dance in your mouth as well as anything else that had a drop of yuzu on it. Ended my experience with uni and it was pure velvet. The most underwhelming item I ate was a spicy tuna since I was genuinely curious but I wouldn’t order that again and just stick with nigiri.Each nigiri order is 1 piece and sashimi is 2 pieces. “I had takeaways a couple of times before & finally did dining ? in about a couple of weeks ago ! With my mom & sister & her husband . The waiter was super nice ,a very friendly Japanese guy who was excited to see Japanese customers !! He answered to all of my brother in law's questions & our questions very honestly & helped us a lot. He gave us a tip to get ramen/ sushi combinations, too ! So that we could try both out / save $ !! They had matcha beer ? which was green !! It smelled so nice !! My brother in law said he loved it! But,according to the waiter ,no one really does !? “I ordered the chicken ramen, comes with seaweed, boiled egg, corn, green onions and your choice of protein. I thought the ramen was very good. Only issues were there is no complimentary parking so you have to pay for valet which is 6$. With the already expensive ramen be prepared to spend about 40-50$ for two people.“

“I loved this place. Everyone there were so welcoming and the Taisho (The head chef) was super entertaining and made me feel like I’ve been there before. They are so proud of what they provide and all the fish are coming from Japan. Not only they are coming from Japan but also coming by first class over night shipping. They take care of their fish so well and I was so impressed when I ate.I’m so picky when it comes to Shari (rice) and yes! They use Akashari, which is red vinegar and rice. “This is the Little Tokyo outlet of Sushi Enya. The place is on the same street as the popular ramen place. We orders the 18 piece sashimi set twice and the chef was thoughtful enough to put different fish slices on the two orders. We also tried their specialty eel roll which is served on a very long dish since eels are long? Quality of the fish are quite high and attention to details are there. There are not many tables so it gets crowded. Usually there is a wait so suggest to arrive early (5PM) or use table reservations. They have a cancellation fee if you make table reservation. There is no parking on site so you have paid street parking or paid parking structure near by.“

“My boyfriend and I love eating here. It's a very popular spot, so if you don't want to wait in line for a long time, I recommend coming on a weekday or early. If you eat at the bar, you do not have an option for the lunch menu. At the bar, sushi is made in front of you. It's very good, but prices add up quickly if you like to eat a lot. Sitting at the table, they have a really good lunch special.“

“A new cute little gem in the neighborhood! I ordered takeout through the yelp app. I got a dragon roll, California roll and kinpira gobo. When I stopped in, I was immediately greeted, tended to and even received a thank you from the chef for coming by. Got home and the food was packaged nicely, with plenty of sauces, ginger (my favorite) and utensils. I can tell the quality of the food is great as everything tasted super fresh and delicious. This location used to be a boba shop before. I'm looking forward to stopping by and trying more items, especially their matcha. Overall a lovely first impression and seems to be mom and pop owned - I always try to support small business.“
