“We found Violet's from another yelp review. We arrived just in time to secure a table on their lovely patio. The ambience is great. We had attentive service and the food was well prepared. It is a limited menu for lunch. We found their Nicoise Salad and burger very tasty and fresh. The dinner menu offers a few more options. We will definately be back..“

“STEPH JUDGEMENT: Charming atmosphere and good food, but slightly uneven service. We were staying at the hotel and decided to try it for breakfast. It had an adorable retro 1930s vibe going on, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered a coffee and their smoked salmon and latke (same as hash browns), and was pleasantly surprised by an unexpected poached egg. The hubby ordered two scrambled eggs and "cool ranch" hash browns (basically cool ranch dust). Everything was delicious, but after the server dropped off our food she was nowhere to be seen for a while, and it took some time to settle our bill. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, and I believe they had just opened, so I'm sure the service will improve as they get their bearings. I'd definitely like to try them again when next in the area.“

“Had a lovely brunch here for Easter - it's a La carte which is different than the usual Easter brunches we have gone too but the food was great - we had shrimp w grits special. My parents loved the salmon and the country fried steak. The pasta for the kids is fresh so it does take longer. The ambience is great as they had live music and the spot is so pretty all wicker chairs and lush green.“

“The initial attraction to this restaurant was simple. A Michelin star, and there's a cheeseburger on the menu?!? Sign me up. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant was modern, minimal, and comfortable. We were greeted with a delicious amuse bouche of creme fraiche and green onion with some sort of crunchy vessel holding it together. Then we moved onto the baguette, which, while delicious, I would probably pass on my next visit. Then came the onion tartine, which, in my opinion, was the highlight of the meal. Perfectly blistered gruyere cheese over caramelized onions and delicious fresh bread drizzled with a duck fat reduction tableside. Think of it as a perfectly executed inverted French onion soup. Then came the burger. Upon arrival, it was announced as a 50/50 blend of ribeye and duck, smoked gouda, and caramelized onions on an incredible brioche bun. I've had a lot of burgers, and none of them even came close to this one. Perfectly cooked, lovely char, and incredible flavor. We ordered the Madeira mushroom risotto as a side dish, and that was delicious as well. Every course was perfectly spaced out, and the wait staff never missed a beat. The overall experience was faultless, and I can't wait for another special occasion to return.“

“Came in with my partner and the interior was small and so it felt a bit tight, but the servers knew how to work around the space well! They were also super friendly without being overbearing and the food that we ordered was so good! I got the omurice and my partner got the hayashi dish. “They have moved to a new location. I loved the new location it's more spacious, the only thing I missed is the live tv they had in their previous location where you could see the chef preparing the food. The food was good as usual. Loved the garlic bread. As I am not drinking alcohol the bar tender was able to customize a drink for me, i really appreciate that. They have a nice list of cocktail and some amazing wines. Risotto was nice and creamy.“

The French toast was overcooked and had a wet, eggy center. However, the chocolate almond croissant stood out. The homemade blueberry coffee cake was dry and lacked flavor. While the portions were generous, the quality didn't justify the $40+ per person price.On the brighter side, the hazelnut cookie was a highlight, especially when warmed up. The beignet lacked flavor and had a dense texture reminiscent of a donut, rather than the desired lightness. The fries and aioli were enjoyable, offering a satisfying combination.Despite the culinary disappointments, Sarah, the owner, was exceptional, and the interior decoration provided a stunning backdrop for a group gathering. “I only write reviews when I am impressed by a place or let down. I didn't think that I would enjoy this burger as much as I did. We went there specifically for the Big Mec and it did not disappoint. The sauce was so flavorful and the burger was perfectly cooked. I'm not a big burger person, but I LOVED it! Even though it is on the pricer side, it is definitely worth it! We went on a weekend, and though the place was packed, the service was really good and we got our food fast. It is a smaller place, but it is very cute and you can watch the chefs cooking your food. It is definitely something you should put on your list!“

“Oriel is a modern wine bar/bistry that serves french food. The food is simple but tasty and the service is great. They have a pretty good sized wine list and a lot of food options as well. The atmosphere is great, with a cozy patio and interior. This is a lovely gem tucked in the quieter part of Chinatown and is a great spot to catch up with friends or for a date night. Tons of easy parking right in front of the restaurant and it’s located under the train line by the Chinatown metro station.“

“in love with this spot, i’m here at least once a week. The staff is so fun and great at what they do. Great place to people watch outside or get cozy in the lounge. My favorite things to order are the chicken, seafood pasta, or french onion soup, but honestly everything is great“

“I'm always excited to try a French restaurant. My favorite soup is French onion soup, so of course I had to try it at Taix. It was perfection! The broth was rich and the onions were tender and wonderfully caramelized. And the melted cheese! So good! I had the creme brulee for dessert (one of my favorite desserts). Unfortunately the top was way too burnt, and the bitterness really over-powered the custard. That was disappointing. I had to avoid eating the blackened parts which was most of the top. If I go back, I hope they will accept a request to go easy on the brulee. The waitress was lovely! <3“

“A not-so-hidden gem in LA! Definitely one of the best meals, experiences, and service I've had. The food is incredible, especially the Kaspia #3 fried chicken and caviar. It has a cool story behind it too. The bar program perfectly compliments the menu and elevates the craft cocktail game. The overall experience was 10/10. I HIGHLY recommend. “I stopped here for breakfast before going to Universal Studios Hollywood as it's located so close. I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere! This is a cute little French cafe. The decor was very thoughtful with French flags and cozy seats. I wish it was night time as it looked like they have lovely fairy lights for the evenings. The person at the register was friendly and our food was fresh made and probably took about 20 minutes to arrive. I ordered the alpine tartine without bacon and it was DIVINE. I really enjoyed it and the mix of Brie, sour cream, egg, potatoes, and bread. I did add some hot sauce and pepper but it was very good. I appreciate the side salad to balance out the heaviness. I did not have space for their pastries but they looked amazing. I will say the one major downside is that they did not have espresso or specialty drinks when I visited which I found disappointing. I got a canned cold coffee which was okay. I would've loved a latte or cappuccino to pair with my breakfast.“

“The beef carpaccio is a miracle of a dish. I hope they never remove it from the menu because I would order this daily if I could. The orange wine was ok, chilled red was good. Halibut was ok. Very small intimate setting.But...the beef carpaccio makes this 5 stars.“

“Why didn't we take pictures of all of the delicious food? Idk, but probably because we were hungry and decided to drive in instead. Everything looked good, so we shared items instead of choosing only one. This is absolutely the way to go here, btw. Grab some friends and take them out. Chicken salad sandwich: very good! I had never thought to include sundried tomatoes in my chicken salad sandwiches, but now I'm never going to have one without! The sandwich comes with a side of chips or salad. We opted for salad. The dressing (a creamy balsamic) was very good. Veggie spinach crepe, with mushrooms added: excellent. This crepe was cheesy without being too cheesy, and the addition of the mushroom was fantastic. I'm not usually a big fan of cooked spinach, but it really worked here. Paris Special crepe: rich and creamy and delicious! Nice cheese distribution, moist chicken chunks, and lots of mushrooms. Too many olives for my personal preference, but it's not like they don't tell you there are olives in it. I did not count this against the crepe. It was otherwise wonderful. Chicken spinach crepe: like the Paris Special, good cheese distribution, delicious chicken, tasty mushrooms, and the spinach worked particularly well here. The sauce was fantastic. Royal crepe: nutella + chocolate + strawberries + banana. Is there anyway this isn't the best thing you've put in your mouth? This combination is always a winner, and it was a winner here, as well. YUM.You order at the counter, then take a seat. The staff will bring the food out to you when it's ready, and it doesn't take long. The shop is really cute - the stamped tin ceiling is darling, the dangling lights (at varying length) add charm, and there is a giant Costco teddy bear in the window. Idk why, but I also don't care if there is no reason for this at all - it's awesome and he's super cute. Prices were very reasonable. Service was quick. I would definitely return.“

Mysteriously, the place was almost empty on a Tuesday—for foodies who want a quietly luxurious dinner and some of the best cocktails around in a beautiful space, snag a Tuesday spot and treat yourself before this place catches on. “Worth a visit, especially if you’re staying at the Biltmore bc this is literally right outside their doors essentially. I got a breakfast sandwich and iced latte. Total was about $25 so definitely not a cheap place, but pretty good. I loved the rustic interior. They have a wine bar too so overall it just felt like a good spot to chill. Also, I asked for a straw and was told they don’t have them, so just keep that in mind!“

Walking into the restaurant was like a dream, the decor is so pretty and the way the restaurant was arranged is so nice. “This was a very good experience for my partner na do. We are not French food experts but I will say the food was quite authentic and would recommend their fish dishes the most. I had salmon over cream sauce, accompanied by squash with tomatoes and snow peas. Everything was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is great and service was among the kindest I can recall. I will recommend this place to friends and family. Any comments on parking are beyond the control of this restaurant. It’s in busy location but you know that going in. The onion soup was also very good but one serving was easy shared with two people.“

“Took my girlfriend here for a Valentine's dinner - incredible & unique menu, really cool ambiance in terms of watching the food be made, and great experience talking to the chef and the service staff. I'd say it's a bit pricey and the corkage fee was INSANE ($75 + a 20% gratuity on top of that), but for such a unique experience i'd still recommend. I'd recommend doing the research on this restaurant and understanding its appeal as the price point won't make it a great pick for everyone.“

“What a great evening. I think my experience was a bit unique. Friday 6pm before Mother's Day. We got lucky to be the only reservation... ya the only people in the restaurant. Completely dark room with us in the center celebrating Mother's Day. I'm shocked they stayed open for us. They truly made it special for my wife. Our server was amazing and attentive, she went out of her way. Brought my wife chocolate, wrote her a Mother's Day card and guided us through it the experience. Food I would give 4 starts, it was flavorful and presentation was great but just a bit too over sauced for me personally.“

“They had the mind to keep the French onions cheese and bread ring separate so you could slide this cute cheese top on top of the bowl in your microwave at home. Designed for take out the French onion soup: genius melts over the rim and because some bread was kept separate and not soggy. You had the option for crispy fluffy bread and the bread already included in the soup. Sorry I'm so impressed I cannot make sense here but it was amazing. And I loved it“
