“The ramen is absolutely fantastic, especially the creamy broth with cashew milk. Unfortunately, the staff does not communicate well and that takes away from the overall experience. Also, when we visited at 4pm there was some sus dude hanging out in the back, definitely not working. I have no idea who that dude was but there should be some staff review.“

“Went on a Sunday around 530pm. You order at the counter and pay first. Sushi and Ramen were very delicious! Limited bottled soda,juices and filtered water you get on your own. No AC but who cares you're in Newport. Overall great place to eat after the beach.“

“Excellent place for lunch or dinner, and can be accommodating for larger parties when you call ahead to reserve space. Our family loves coming here regularly but the restaurant staff did an awesome job when we had a large party come in for a birthday. Service staff and chefs are so friendly and the fish quality is excellent.“

“My teenagers and I had the Motto Black, the Motto Red, and the Motto Special. All bowls were tasty and delicious. Noodles were fresh and the chaschu melted in your mouth. Staff was super friendly and attentive. I would recommend as a casual and family friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back again.“

“I went in here on a whim after not eating all day, craving soup and seeing the long line. I figured, “why not?” The line was lengthy, but to speed the process, there was someone outside providing the menu and answering questions. They also. Kept in consideration that I was eating solo, so when a seat at the bar opened up, it was given to me.

As soon as I sat down, my server confirmed what I wrote and I KID YOU NOT, my food was in front of me a minute later. There was water on the table on front of you so you didn’t have to ask for refills, and all the extra condiments were on the table as well. I simply got to enjoy my food and just had to ask for the check and paid on my way out. This was my kind of dining!“

No matter is the chashu, the mince pork, runny eggs, ramen egg and their secret umami vinegar, everything is super tasty and even the green onions are amazing in the dish. I love how chewy their noddles are. It’s my favorite local noodle restaurant. Highly recommended.“

“As one of the 1.5 billion people in the world who can't eat pork, the world of real ramen has been closed to me. This paitan ramen had perfect noodles and a rich chicken broth. They have the choice between traditional pork slices or slices of the most tender chicken breast. You place orders on a ticket so each person orders exactly as they want. I recommend the spicy chicken paitan.“

“Just realized after the fact that this is a local Japanese ramen chain, I haven’t been to Hokkaido so I can’t comment on the authenticity but it’s a pretty good bowl of ramen. I got the D set (shio) and it came with a side of chahan. Very filling and very tasty, the staff was great too.“

“First time coming to this restaurant with my Japanese friends. It’s a small Japanese communities where we can get together eating and chatting! The staffs are very friendly and the head chef/owner is a very passionate person! And he was very accommodate-able person! Love it! 😍“

The udon is super consistent with their other location OkiDoki in Tustin. Such amazingly good udon and flavorful broth.

We went on Aug 4th and starting today, and only on Tues and Wed nights for dinner they serve 10 portions of Prime Beef and Garlic Udon. SO GOOD. So worth the price tag and wait. We even took the broth home lol.

“The service is friendly and attentive, and I've had good experiences here with the sushi. Today came to try the ramen, had a not so good experience ordering it here before and thought maybe it was just an off day, unfortunately it wasn't. I'm sort of a ramen snob, and we ordered the Tonkotsu and the Black ramen. Both were disappointing.the black ramen has a pork broth like the tonkotsu, but it seemed overly salty, as if the base was primarily soy sauce, and the regular tonkotsu although was a bit smoother still was lacking in flavor. The noodles were chewy and seemed almost as if they used noodles from a Top Ramen package. I'll continue to visit them for sushi on occasion, but that will be my last ramen attempt here.“

“My favorite pick-me-up on days when I don’t want to cook. Some of the best ramen I’ve had I. My life, and best ramen in OC, certainly! Staff are friendly. Not nearly as long of a wait as other locations and plenty of outdoor seating. I appreciate that they add the service fee into the bill for dine-in to save you the hassle of guessing tip amounts. They seem to have very solid employee benefits, too. I love their pork sliders and tonkotsu ramen!“

“I've been coming to this restaurant pretty frequently when I have a craving for ramen. Every visit regardless to how long time time has passed, the quality of the food has not changed, and it's really consistent and umai.

My only complaint is the chicken karaage is not crispy enough, but other than the quality of the ramen makes up for all of it. I recommend the blaze ramen for anyone that likes a bit spicy.“

“We’ve been here several times now, and it never disappoints. The prices are honestly some of the best around, especially for the quality and portion sizes you get. They have a huge selection of sushi rolls, so there’s something for everyone, and everything we’ve tried has been fresh and delicious. The baked lobster roll is definitely worth ordering! The staff is always friendly, service is quick, and the atmosphere is relaxed. If you’re looking for great sushi without spending a fortune, this place is hard to beat. “It was our first time dining here, and overall the food was good and well-prepared. The ramen uses thin noodles, and the broth was flavorful. We noticed many tables ordering sushi, so we’d love to try that next time as well. We also ordered the fried chicken this time — crispy and paired perfectly with the sauce.“

“We were a little concerned about the poor reviews but decided to give it a chance since we were in the area! We came on a Sunday evening and the food came out very quickly. Our Shoyu ramen was delicious, with generous toppings of bamboo shoots and vegetables. The ramen egg was also cooked perfectly. We also got the pork bun, and broccoli side dishes which turned out great. Service was average, it was not rude but not particularly warm either. And we got everything we needed. I would visit again!“

“I got spicy ramen (the last one in the list) and it was pretty good. The portions are adequate, I didn’t feel like I was gonna explode, but I felt comfortably full. They have a lot of vegetarian options. The prices are on the higher side though, probably due to its location. Otherwise it’s pretty good.

Vegetarian options: Almost all of their ramen have a vegetarian equivalent, and all the broth is vegetarian.

Parking: There are a lot of parking on either side of the mall.

Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on the first floor and there are no steps. Access would be easy for someone on a wheelchair.“

The Irvine roll was fantastic as well.
