“I live nearby and would like to support this Bar 100%. Staff and food quality and cleanliness are equally excellent. Have been going to this bar for more than 5YRs. Also, the location and the next-door wonderful restaurants are attractive to hang out.
This review is to suggest a few things that might attract more traffic: providing options of peanut-sauces (I loved the P. sauce from California Shabu Shabu but chose this Bar to support the business), installing the led-blinking light with a design for the interior wall and wrap around the bar. “Delicious pay-per-pound hot pot at The Source! The service was really good. Our waitress kept checking up on us and our kids. The restaurant is spacious and very clean. They have one area where you grab your bowl and load up with all the ingredients you'd like. They even have a scale for you to check the weight in case you are trying not to order too much. They basically have everything you would want at a pay-per-pound hot pot. Actually they have items I had never seen before. I didn't take a picture to type down the name but they were fun ingredients that even my kids loved.

Their sauce selection is decent too. The only thing they didn't have here was sacha sauce but this is a Korean style restaurant. I can't expect them to have it lol. Overall, definitely would come back the next time I'm at the Source!“

“We were looking for a place to eat late into the night and found this on Google. Boy was it good!!!! It's all you can eat and they have different combos for anyone's budget. They were really nice and got us a table even though it was late but honestly we left stuff silly on all the tasty food. It's such a pretty location and the servers were helpful despite us ending our time a little after closing. We got the combo B and almost every meat we tried was a hit. They have so many options in broth, seafood, and veggies. Sidenote: I can't recommend the lemonade enough XD they also have a nice little punch card deal with a nice reward for when you hit 10 visits. We will be back for more in the future! Have patience the quality is worth it.“

“The best malatang ive had in OC. Way better than the likes of ygf and other chain etc. Broth is super tasty and isn't drowned in msg. Also tons of option in toppings and broth. I recommend trying the tom kha. The price is a little more expensive than other spots but its worth it“

“The hotpot I eat most often with friends is Lao Pier. The first time I ate flying pancakes was at Lao Pier. Now that I think about it, it still tastes delicious.“

“The servers were really attentive and helpful with introducing us with the menu we chose the premium options and I don’t think I can go back the meats esp the special Wagyu and ribeye were really good not chewy at all plus the sushi was a hit I love it so much but I had to save room for the rest of the options they have !! They also got appetizers you can order through the tablet, beer on the tap, and mocktails overall good experience and the staff was able to hold down their busy restaurant while making sure everyone is being helped!“

“Chinese hot pot place, open late, $15 a pound plus the cost of broth, but I think you can also do dry bowls without broth.
They have a good selection of vegetables, noodles, meats, including shrimp, fish, and squid. I liked the shrimp and fish, but would not do the squid again because it was a little chewy.
I had the bone broth which was too heavy on the five spice flavor for my palette. Next time, I’ll try a different broth or maybe just a dry bowl.
I thought the music they played inside was pretty awful, but thankfully there’s plenty of outdoor seating :)
I’m definitely willing to try this place again.“

“This AYCE hot pot in Irvine is such a nice surprise! The fish maw chicken broth was so tasty. You get unlimited beef, seafood, drinks and desserts. No weird hidden charges at all. Space is clean and laid‑back. Perfect spot to bring friends when you want to pile on food without blowing your whole budget.“

“We came here on a Saturday for the first time, not really knowing what to expect and honestly feeling a little unfamiliar with everything. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcomed, comfortable, and taken care of.

Our server was absolutely wonderful. She kindly asked us if it was our first time instead of assuming that we already knew how everything worked. She was so patient and sweet with us. She even brought us a picture book/menu to help us understand our options and how to order. What I appreciated most was the way she explained everything—she never once made us feel embarrassed, uncomfortable, or like we were asking “stupid” questions. She genuinely wanted to make sure we had a good experience.

Every time we ordered something, they would kindly double-check with us to make sure we had ordered exactly what we wanted. They did it in such a respectful and friendly way that made us feel cared for rather than corrected.

They were also incredibly thoughtful about dietary restrictions. We mentioned that we don’t eat pork, and they immediately placed a “NO PORK” sign on our table so everyone serving us would be aware. They continued checking on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was okay and that we were comfortable. That level of attention and consideration really stood out to us.

They even had little things available to make the experience easier and more comfortable, like hair ties for women, gloves, and aprons so we wouldn’t worry about getting our clothes dirty. It was clear that they had thought about the little details that make a big difference.

Most importantly, everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind, patient, welcoming, and respectful. We never felt rushed or out of place. They made us feel comfortable from beginning to end, especially as first-time customers who were unfamiliar with everything.

The food was great, but honestly, the hospitality is what made the experience so memorable. You can tell that the staff truly cares about their customers and wants everyone to leave happy.

I had the best experience at Tabu Shabu! I sat out on the patio with my dog and it was absolutely perfect—comfortable, welcoming, and such a great vibe. I ordered a glass of wine and started with the cucumber appetizer and edamame, both super fresh and full of flavor. The highlight was the salmon bowl with rice…so delicious, perfectly cooked, and so satisfying. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and they made me (and my pup!) feel totally at home. I think everyone came out at some point to visit with me and my pup. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, a relaxing atmosphere, and a dog-friendly spot for a drink and apps (cant do hotpot outside, but still worth it).“

Considering the price, I expected a wider variety and better overall value. If you're looking for a restaurant that specializes in sushi, I don't think this would be my first choice. However, the shabu-shabu looked much more impressive. The quality and variety of the meats appeared to be excellent, making it a great option for meat lovers. I would definitely consider coming back to try the shabu-shabu instead of the sushi.“

“First time here and it was great. We showed up around 830pm and they had a few items out but for the most part everything we wanted we were able to get. Service is quick and friendly. The food was delicious but it'll depend on the broth you pick. Tomato tasted great for a non spicy and the szechuan for a spicy one was great as well. Many other flavors to come back and try.“

“There are restaurants that chase perfection and there are restaurants that simply make you happy you walked through the door. Miyabi falls squarely into the second category.

No, this isn’t the best beef I’ve ever had. If you’re hunting for the most exclusive wagyu or the rarest cuts imaginable, there are places that will happily charge you two or three times as much. That’s not what Miyabi is trying to be.

What it does, it does exceptionally well. My wife and I came for the lunch special and by the time we left we both looked at each other and said the same thing. We’re definitely coming back.

The value is outstanding. The meat is fresh, beautifully sliced and generous. The broths are clean without being bland. I went with the kombu while my wife chose the yuzu and both were excellent in completely different ways.

The real surprise was the ponzu. Most ponzu leans too sweet or too salty. This one somehow lands perfectly in the middle. Bright, balanced and exactly what I wanted with every bite of beef and vegetables.

The vegetable bar is another thoughtful touch. Extra greens, scallions, grated daikon, garlic and everything is there whenever you want it instead of waiting for someone to bring it over.

Service deserves its own paragraph. They somehow found that balance that’s harder than it looks. They’re never hovering over your table, but they’re never impossible to find either. Water stayed full, empty plates disappeared and whenever we needed something, someone was already walking over before we had to ask. That’s good hospitality.

The restaurant itself is comfortable. A little darker than some shabu places, but clean, relaxed and somewhere you actually want to linger. We happened to catch the World Cup on the TVs, which somehow made an already enjoyable lunch feel even more relaxed.

If I had one criticism, it’d be the rice. It was just a touch firmer than I prefer. Still perfectly edible, especially with their crispy chili topping, but not quite as soft as I’d hoped.

Don’t skip the hot drops. It brings serious heat without overwhelming the food. Spicy enough to wake everything up, but never so aggressive that it masks the flavor of the broth or the beef.

Miyabi isn’t trying to be the flashiest shabu restaurant in Southern California. It’s trying to serve a genuinely satisfying meal at a fair price with attentive service and thoughtful details. Mission accomplished. I’ll absolutely be back.“

“I don’t even live in the area and every time I come to SoCal to visit my friend I insist that we visit this place. Their catfish is my favorite. I love the fresh vegetables that comes with it and of course the dipping sauce. I can never get enough and the prices are always reasonable!“

“I came by because of the special pricing on their Com Tam and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The Suon, Cha and Nuoc Mam were superbly done. I haven't found this level of quality and expertise outside of VN so this was great. Their Bi is was somewhat off on the day of my visit because the pork skin was a bit sticky but the flavor was fine. They're doing a Com Tam special for $10 and $12 probably to bring in new customers, but I would probably pay $20 and save myself a trip to VN (ha ha). Will update my review when I have a chance to try their other food items.“
