“We just had our anniversary dinner here. How does this restaurant not have a Michelin star? Some of the most incredible food we have ever had and it’s here in Truckee! We have been most disappointed with the truckee food scene especially for what it costs up here, but Trokay is absolutely worth the hype, expense, and your time. The flavors of every course were put together masterfully. I just wish we had gotten it together enough to come here sooner, what a gem to have in town. I hope anyone that is a foodie or just wants to be blown away by some amazing food/ flavors makes it to this restaurant. You will be impressed! The owners are amazing, just look at those resumes, and the service was wonderful. Definitely will be coming back!“

“This place is great! One of the best Italian food spots in Truckee! I had their Gnocchi and it was 👌 absolutely perfect. Zano's is great for a couple looking for a good romantic dinner, or a whole family or 5! They have a very accommodating dining area that can handle tons of customers, and their service is impeccable! “I was searching for food that was not crowded, admittedly I was overwhelmed by the weekenders that flock from all over cities that were crammed in the shopping district. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.“

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.“

“We were in Truckee for the day and wanted something different. This was the perfect place! Outdoor dining was amazing balls! Comfy setting, like your own outside patio. The food was exactly what we wanted! A watermelon non alcoholic spritz was so refreshing. Not sweet but more blended fruity mix. A hot tasty sandwich, perfectly crispy sweet potato fries and that day.. a velvety French onion soup. It was a different type of bread, bunch of spices and big slice of the cheese! So much cooked onions and a broth that tasted like it was cooked for hours, to get a deep rich beef taste. Staff was so friendly and nice. Will be going back to try their pizzas and salads!“

“I got the 1/2 tritip plate with coleslaw and rice with tortillas. Very tasty and fills you up. My daughter got the 1/2 chicken (which is literally half of a chicken) with coleslaw and rice with garlic bread and she brought half home. it was all tasty.“

We had the mushroom tortelli and it was amazing. Savory but light. We are from bourbon country (KY) and had an old fashioned that was incredible! Owner was present greeting tables and so personable. Definitely recommend!“

“This is a good place to stop and have lunch during your Northstar ski experience. However, I can't give it five stars because the prices are at least double the normal cost. That applies to everything sold here. Options for vegan or vegetarian guests are very limited. All that aside, it's a nice ski lodge, and the food is fine if you like burgers, fries, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. Lines are usually short, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is clean and tidy.“

“We sat on the deck and had a delightful dinner. The food continues to be outstanding and the service is great! Michael the new manager is extremely personable and makes a point to walk around and check in on the guests. I love their Caesar salad, fish tacos and fish special. The kids menu is also good and the dessert selection yummy. Give it a try.“

Branzino was perfectly cooked - maybe needed a tad more salt.
The steak was more than perfectly cooked medium rare with crispy edges.
Cocktail was ok, not my favorite but the red wine was very good (Chianti)“

“What can I say, it's a solid, unpretentious, run of the mill Chinese joint. Been eating here for years. Consistently satisfactory. If you're looking for fine dining, you're in the wrong place, but it's a big step up from Panda.

I particularly like the orange chicken and sesame chicken. Their house chow mein and pot stickers are great also.

Service and atmosphere are a little rough around the edges, but this place has been a staple since back when Truckee was also a little rough around the edges.

“I loved this place! It was really neat to go inside and take a look around. We ate outside, which was perfect for this weather. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. I got the peach salad with grilled chicken, which tasted delicious! The portions were a little smaller than I would have liked for the price, but it was a great portion for a smaller lunch salad. Would definitely recommend going there, especially eating outside and absorbing the atmosphere.“

“What a delicious find! When other restaurants we no longer seating, we went here and what a gem! Their chicken satay was flavourful and fresh. Fried spring rolls were crunchy and delicious. The drunken noodles were the perfect amount of spicy - some good heat, and you can't stop eating them.

Maybe get more involved with patrons and tell their story of the place and what brought them to work there. Engage more and more welcoming. I would come back again for a second try.“
