The Italian dishes and pizzas are flavorful, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. On our recent visit, the mushroom ravioli was especially good, and the chocolate cake for dessert was the perfect finish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly, attentive service. A great choice in Truckee when you’re craving comforting, thoughtfully prepared Italian food.“

“I was searching for food that was not crowded, admittedly I was overwhelmed by the weekenders that flock from all over cities that were crammed in the shopping district. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.“

“Been here several times. Staff is nice and service is mostly good but main complaint is that they can't get their reservation timing right. Out of the 5 times I've been here with reservation, 3 of those seated us at least 20 min after our reservation. I like the restaurant but please fix your reservation system. Update: Liz the manager did an amazing job at service recovery. She came and personally apologized and let us know that they are training new staff, plus they are getting another check-in ipad which will help speed up the check-in process during busy times. She offered to take some items off our bill. I'm happy to see that they take customer service seriously.“

“We visited a few years ago, in 2018 and bought several bottles of Red Barn Red. Tonight 2/15/2025, I opened our last bottle. It held its color and flavor. We are really enjoying this lovely wine. I think it's time to visit Truckee, again. Cheers!“

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.“

“We were in Truckee for the day and wanted something different. This was the perfect place! Outdoor dining was amazing balls! Comfy setting, like your own outside patio. The food was exactly what we wanted! A watermelon non alcoholic spritz was so refreshing. Not sweet but more blended fruity mix. A hot tasty sandwich, perfectly crispy sweet potato fries and that day.. a velvety French onion soup. It was a different type of bread, bunch of spices and big slice of the cheese! So much cooked onions and a broth that tasted like it was cooked for hours, to get a deep rich beef taste. Staff was so friendly and nice. Will be going back to try their pizzas and salads!“

“This is a good place to stop and have lunch during your Northstar ski experience. However, I can't give it five stars because the prices are at least double the normal cost. That applies to everything sold here. Options for vegan or vegetarian guests are very limited. All that aside, it's a nice ski lodge, and the food is fine if you like burgers, fries, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. Lines are usually short, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is clean and tidy.“

“We visited the Truckee Tavern and Grill for the first time this past Saturday night and we were thoroughly impressed! We received a warm greeting and were seated by the owner. I loved the decor and ambiance, very cozy and eclectic. We shared the Beet Tartare with house-made chips, my beau had a burger and fries and I had the Oyster Mushroom Shepard's pie. All were beautifully presented and delicious - the perfect comfort food after a full day of snowboarding. We finished our meal with the Carrot Cake which was *chef's kiss* delightfully moist and flavorful. We can't wait to return and try more of the menu!“

“Great service! We were able to sit in the dining room near the fireplace. My favorite ! It set the stage for a night of lovely ambiance and great food! We had lovely Cocktails served promptly. We omitted appetizers. Hubby had the steak and frites and a salad. All was excellent . I started with a cup of the Greek Lemon soup. Delicious! This was followed by the Thai Shrimp. Sooooo yummy! Spicy and so full of flavor! I had to share with Hubby and he loved it too. It was a very generous portion. We shared the sorbet selection which was a refreshing end to a lovely date night at the Lodge! Thanks to all our servers and staff. Our compliments to the Chef and his crew!“

“We ordered tuna ahi and sea scallops for appetizer , but the taste of scallops was very weird (with the sous didn’t much) thanks to our waitress Kristen, she gave us amazing hospitality and offer scallops with the sauce on the side and for main course, the same. And it work great. We enjoyed our first dinner in Ritz.“

“The staffs are friendly. There is a lunch special menu that offers a lot of spicy and non-spicy dishes. I saw other customers’ plates and there appeared to be a lot of food with the lunch special. We opted to select individual entrees: War Wonton Soup, Kung Pao Chicken and extra spicy Beef Chow Fun. The beef chow fun and the kung pao chicken had the “wok hey”. We will definitely come back next time when we are in Truckee.“
