“We just had our anniversary dinner here. How does this restaurant not have a Michelin star? Some of the most incredible food we have ever had and it’s here in Truckee! We have been most disappointed with the truckee food scene especially for what it costs up here, but Trokay is absolutely worth the hype, expense, and your time. The flavors of every course were put together masterfully. I just wish we had gotten it together enough to come here sooner, what a gem to have in town. I hope anyone that is a foodie or just wants to be blown away by some amazing food/ flavors makes it to this restaurant. You will be impressed! The owners are amazing, just look at those resumes, and the service was wonderful. Definitely will be coming back!“

“Great new spot right off of Donner pass rd! Plenty of free parking right out front. The bison-wagyu meatballs, Bolognse, fig and pig pizza were all so good with the Budino desert a perfect end to the meal! Would definitely go back next time in Truckee! 🤤“

“I got the 1/2 tritip plate with coleslaw and rice with tortillas. Very tasty and fills you up. My daughter got the 1/2 chicken (which is literally half of a chicken) with coleslaw and rice with garlic bread and she brought half home. it was all tasty.“

“I was searching for food that was not crowded, admittedly I was overwhelmed by the weekenders that flock from all over cities that were crammed in the shopping district. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.“

Zano's is great for a couple looking for a good romantic dinner, or a whole family or 5! They have a very accommodating dining area that can handle tons of customers, and their service is impeccable! “My husband and I went for dinner and were so surprised at the quality of the drinks and food. Each item we had was delicious. We had the soup ( cream cauliflower) , and the basic salad . It was full of veggies and slivered almonds as well as pickled jicama. I had the 10 ounce filet which was seasoned beautifully and done just right over a bed of spinach and potatoes. It was surrounded by a fabulous sauce of mushrooms. My husband had the pork paparadelle that had spinach noodles, onions, and tomatoes in the sauce. It was so savory. To top it off, we shared a delicious carrot cake that was just the right sweetness. I forgot to mention the martini was perfect and the nonalcoholic drink that was made for me was the best I’ve ever had!! It was a fantastic meal!“

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.“

“This is a good place to stop and have lunch during your Northstar ski experience. However, I can't give it five stars because the prices are at least double the normal cost. That applies to everything sold here. Options for vegan or vegetarian guests are very limited. All that aside, it's a nice ski lodge, and the food is fine if you like burgers, fries, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. Lines are usually short, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is clean and tidy.“

“We were in Truckee for the day and wanted something different. This was the perfect place! Outdoor dining was amazing balls! Comfy setting, like your own outside patio. The food was exactly what we wanted! A watermelon non alcoholic spritz was so refreshing. Not sweet but more blended fruity mix. A hot tasty sandwich, perfectly crispy sweet potato fries and that day.. a velvety French onion soup. It was a different type of bread, bunch of spices and big slice of the cheese! So much cooked onions and a broth that tasted like it was cooked for hours, to get a deep rich beef taste. Staff was so friendly and nice. Will be going back to try their pizzas and salads!“

Michael the new manager is extremely personable and makes a point to walk around and check in on the guests. I love their Caesar salad, fish tacos and fish special. The kids menu is also good and the dessert selection yummy. Give it a try.“

“I loved this place! It was really neat to go inside and take a look around. We ate outside, which was perfect for this weather. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. I got the peach salad with grilled chicken, which tasted delicious! The portions were a little smaller than I would have liked for the price, but it was a great portion for a smaller lunch salad. Would definitely recommend going there, especially eating outside and absorbing the atmosphere.“

“Decent Mexican food in the Northstar Village. When you’re looking for Mexican food this is a far better option than the rarely-open spot on the deck at Big Springs. And great Happy Hour (3:00pm-5:00pm)!

Branzino was perfectly cooked - maybe needed a tad more salt.
The steak was more than perfectly cooked medium rare with crispy edges.
Cocktail was ok, not my favorite but the red wine was very good (Chianti)“

“The staffs are friendly. There is a lunch special menu that offers a lot of spicy and non-spicy dishes. I saw other customers’ plates and there appeared to be a lot of food with the lunch special. We opted to select individual entrees: War Wonton Soup, Kung Pao Chicken and extra spicy Beef Chow Fun. The beef chow fun and the kung pao chicken had the “wok hey”. We will definitely come back next time when we are in Truckee.“

“What a delicious find! When other restaurants we no longer seating, we went here and what a gem! Their chicken satay was flavourful and fresh. Fried spring rolls were crunchy and delicious. The drunken noodles were the perfect amount of spicy - some good heat, and you can't stop eating them.

Also, service was attentive and kind, and all around a treat!“
