“Went to an escape room nearby and a friend wanted Chinese near us and checked on the maps and this was close by and had good reviews.
Just like the reviews said there is as paid parking lot right next to it and you may find free street parking around.
Quiet with plenty of seating and very authentic Chinese food, not the Americanized Chinese food. They also served us water right away and kept coming around to make sure our glasses were always topped up.
The friend who wanted Chinese asked the waiter for a shrimp recommendation and talked with the waiter about what he would like and when the food came it was exactly what he wanted. Everyone lived their dishes and the prices were very reasonable.
We even agreed that next time we do the escape room in the area, we are going back to eat there again.“

“Mu Lan Taiwanese Restaurant is a Taiwanese restaurant in Waltham that focuses on traditional dishes, family-style portions, and bold flavors. The restaurant has a comfortable and casual atmosphere that works well for both smaller meals and larger group dinners. The menu has a wide range of options, including classic Taiwanese favorites and some dishes that are more familiar to people who enjoy Chinese cuisine, making it easy to order whether you are looking for something traditional or something more recognizable.
The food is the main reason to visit, especially the dishes that highlight Taiwanese flavors. The crispy chicken in chili sauce was one of the standout dishes because it had a good balance of texture and seasoning. The outside had a nice crispness while the sauce added a stronger flavor without overwhelming the dish. The salt and pepper pork chops were another highlight, with a satisfying crunch and the kind of savory flavor that makes it easy to keep reaching for another piece.
The duck dishes are also worth trying, especially if you are looking for something that feels more unique compared to standard Chinese takeout options. The scallion pancakes and dumplings are good choices for sharing, and the menu has plenty of dishes that work well for ordering family style. I liked that the portions were generous, which makes it easier to try multiple dishes with a group instead of everyone ordering separately.
The service was generally friendly and the food came out at a good pace during my visit. The restaurant can get busy, especially during peak dinner hours, but that also adds to the lively atmosphere. For larger groups, making a reservation is helpful because the space fills up quickly.
Overall, Mu Lan is a solid choice for Taiwanese food in the area. The combination of authentic flavors, large portions, and a wide menu makes it a place I would return to. I would focus on the traditional dishes rather than the more Americanized options because that is where the restaurant stands out the most.“

“I would give infinity stars if I could because they certainly make magic happen here! My pizza was delicious and the service was stellar. They even took the time to add a little tape to properly close the old hot/cold grocery tote I brought with me to keep my pizza hot on the way home.“

“Hands down the best Chinese food in Waltham! Delivery is fast and food arrives hot and well packaged. Crab rangoons, chicken fingers, egg rolls, boneless spare ribs, wonton soup, fried rice, lo mein, peking ravioli, general gau's chicken, and beef/chicken teriyaki skewers are among our routine orders. They are all soooo good. Have never eaten at the restaurant, always done delivery.“

“Honestly has been my go to for the past 3 years. This place slaps every time I get it. Prices are great, portion sizes are generous, and taste is good. Highly recommend the pork fried rice. Obviously not something mind blowing but, for the price, they don’t skimp on the meat and you can really taste the wok hei. Also one of the few places open past midnight so great for college students.“

“I’ve been coming here for 9 years and I don’t know why I haven’t thought of writing a review until now but Asia Wok is consistently good with great portions and service. Open late as well. Best Chinese take-out in the area by far.“
