“Amazing BBQ joint in NKC. The atmosphere is perfectly BBQ, wooden tables, BBQ theme decor, and almost a picnic feel. The tables are set with their 3 sauces (regular, spicy, and their take on a Carolina style), plus smoked ketchup. We tried the two meat platter: sliced sausage, burnt ends, Buffalo slaw, burnt end chili, plus Texas toast; and the brisket sandwich, which is my go to on a first visit. Everything was amazing! The brisket was sliced thin, not too thin, and not fatty at all. The burnt end chili was so full of flavor, and the slaw/beans were great. Hawg Jaw is definitely going in our rotation.“

“I had low expectations for this joint as it was recommended to me by a co-worker with pretty bad taste. I tried it anyways and boy was I surprised. This was the best pulled pork I've had and I've lived in KC long enough to try most all of the BBQ.

“So it is Monday July 14 and we just left Joe’s BBQ and my wife told me that my BBQ is better the Joe’s any-day. Sunday night we went to Q39 and wow what a difference. My wife and I both had the 3 meat and sides of beans,and vegetables. Every single thing we had was great. Chicken(white meat) had good flavor but chicken is chicken. Sausage was full of flavor with the peppers. Ribs were fall off the bone and didn’t need sauce. The pulled pork was really soft and melted in the mouth good. So at this point I have to say if you are in Kansas City for BBQ go to Q39 last because nothing compares the it at least in Kansas City anyway.“

“Grew up in K C K. Old go to was Plesas bbq on Leavenworth rd. Went to slapps for the first time 6/27/22. Now my go to place used to be Jack Stack but they have slipped. Slapps my new bbq happy place!!“

“I asked for my meat to be lean and it can't back with a high level of fat and when I mentioned it to the waiter, his response was “would you like a refill on your soda”. No apology or any way to fix it but instead, let me there to pick all of the fat off“

“My parents came from CO to KS to purchase a new car and the guy at the dealership recommended Smoke Town BBQ to them for dinner. They went over and found that it was closed, but Brian was outside and they struck up a conversation. My parents joked that they’d driven all the way from CO for some good BBQ and Brian was kind enough to go inside and bring them out some food to try. Luckily for me, they brought some back to CO to share and even as leftovers the next day, the burnt ends were DELICIOUS!!! What a kind and thoughtful person and business, and delicious food! Thanks for showing my parents such amazing KS hospitality! 💜“

“Excellent food the meat was exceptionally seasoned and very tender I would rank there barbecue top notch I was truly impressed with the amazing flaver. the cracked pepper to season the meat is amazing its so good. im not a fan of the barbecue sauce but to me if the meat is tender seasoned well ya don't even need sauce this team has skills. The prices are fair and the food was arranged in the to go container so neat they took pride they were professional,kind we will be repeat customers“

So much heart and soul goes into these meals and you feel it with every bite.
Fries were crunchy on the outside with the perfect soft mashed potato feel on the inside. The brisket sandwhich was melt in your mouth yumminess! We pass this constantly &happened to be blessed while she was closing. She has definitely made a forever customer.“

“It would be nice if worlds of fun could do something about the skunks coming into the park. I have a season pass and I normally see 1 or 2 every summer in the outside eating area. Unfortunately the park is next to wood / tree area. So I'm not sure they can do much about it.“

“I cannot express enough how amazed I am with the customer service. Yesterday (Super Bowl Sunday—-GO CHIEFS!) I placed an online order. My pick up time was at 5 (earliest I could get because I waited too long to place the order) I arrive early hoping it would be done earlier because I had people arriving at my house and I didn’t want to miss the game. When I arrived it was packed on people waiting. I assumed I was going to be there for awhile so asked if I could order a beer. They got me a beer and a chair. As I sat there for over an hour (it went past my pick up time) I saw all of the employees working very hard trying their best to fill the orders quickly. Some of the customers were being quite rude to the girls up front as the customers were upset their food wasn’t ready. The girls did an amazing job keeping everyone calm they would simply just smile and tell them they are working on it. I was so impressed how these girls handled themselves not one time did I hear them get snippy with a customer even tho I’m sure they wanted to. It was always a smile with a polite response. I was there almost til the end and a guy started yelling at the girls and still it was a smile and polite response. I got my food and made it for the game and the food was delicious as always!“

“Was in town visiting and I heard good things about Gates back in Chicago, so I had to try them out. Stoped in before heading to the Saints vs Chiefs game. Ordered the turkey on a bun w/fries and lemonade. The turkey was good, the fries were fresh out the grease, but they don’t season the fries, you have to salt them yourself. The total was like $20 so a bit pricey. The sauce has a sweet but spicy taste to it.“

“Went with a group. They served us fast. Were open to customizations. I got the burnt end nachos. Portion was big for $14.99. plenty of burnt ends. Can easily serve 2 people. Very clean restaurant. Customer service was amazing. Have a sauce bar. I like the honey glazed and sweet chipotle.
You can smell their food from the parking garage 😋🤤“

“My husband and I had the best experience at this restaurant. The food was good as always. During our meal my husband had to use the rest room. He has some dementia and can’t walk very well. Unfortunately we were sitting at a table which was on the complete opposite side of the restaurant from the rest room. The server noticed our dilemma and said she would guide him over to the restroom. She was back immediately. I said, “Oh, he won’t be able to find his way back to this table.” The server told me not to worry about it. The restaurant manager had taken him over and would wait and bring him back. That is undoubtedly the kindest thing that has ever happened to us in a restaurant. Thank you to the wonderful people at the RoanRidge Texas Roadhouse.“
