“This place is good... not sure why it gets bad reviews. The food was very good. Had some wontons... some egg drop soup... general tsos chicken... rice... All good - I see some complaints about service but I think the staff was very good at coming back in intervals to check on us. On top of that though, I think service is also about the attitude of the servers which I have only great things say.“

I would definitely go back again. The plantains looked tasty. I hope they look like that on my next trip there! “This is an absolute local experience. It has 3 bar seats and a loud friendly funny guy taking orders. I came here for the congee which was basic but so flavorful and homey. I got the noodles which they are known for and they were outstanding! Chewy, umami and not the prettiest dish. I’ll sacrifice looks for flavor any day! I works say you must be a Sami brave eager to try it but it’s a place I’ll definitely crave in the future!“

“Antidote was such a great spot to have dinner on my visit to NYC. The wait was not too long considering there were 7 people in my party. We had so many items off the menu and the staff was very attentive to allergies and other food preferences. The tea smocked duck was incredible, the cucumber was amazing, the wontons were delicious! Everyone loved their dish it was absolutely a great dinner. The only downside was that some of the fish dishes were made with tilapia which is not a fish preference for most of the friends I was with. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this restaurant“

“Spicy Village was a wonderful place to have a Christmas meal! Actually, I'd like to rename it "Spicy Cozy Village" if a spicy environment can also be cozy! To start with, they were very gracious by accepting a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. Then they came outside and took our order even before we sat down and so the food was nearly ready by the time we had taken our coats off! The festivities kicked off with a plate of crispy peanuts, which ended up being the chosen appetizer, main course, and dessert for the little guy in our party. We then progressed to delicious dumplings, sesame chicken, spicy lamb huimei, and other delectable specialties! What was so amazing about the experience is that despite packing lots of people into a relatively small square foot area, it did not feel claustrophobic at all; rather it was comfortable and cozy, like sitting at a big table for a family meal at your house (even if it was take-out!!). Overall, Spicy Village was a terrific place for Christmas dinner - and I'm strongly considering coming back here for the 8 days of Hanukkah too!“

“A bougier twist on a lot of traditional Chinese dishes. The highlight of the meal was the braised pork belly, so melt in your mouth tender. Also don't miss the cucumber salad appetizer, I thought the flavors were unique and refreshing.“

The outer layer of the pineapple bun is super buttery and crispy and the the bun itself is soft and fluffy. The pork inside is tender and was sweeter than I expected but it pairs so well with the little saltiness on the pineapple bun crust.

“I was recommended this restaurant and took a chance on it as I was looking to diversify where I eat in Brooklyn. I ordered the chicken dumplings and fried rice with duck. Both were excellent and even for the lunch special, the portion of fried rice was too much for just one person. While the service wasn't particularly great, the food and prices were excellent.“

“I came here for a friend's birthday dinner and we had an amazing time. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and I love the cozy but very Chinese decor. Our waitress was so nice, easy to talk to, and fun. The service was really quick.

We ordered hot and sour soup, peking pork, string beans, honey walnut shrimp, beef chow fun, short ribs, beef stew and radish casserole, and salted fish and eggplant casserole. Everything was delicious. My favorites were their peking pork, string bean, and casserole dishes. The honey walnut shrimp was good but the portions were okay for a group of 9. The beef chow fun was a great portion but I wish there was more flavor. Loved the short rib. They gave us complimentary watermelon at the end, as well as birthday flan for my friends and I. Had a great time and I think this is the perfect spot for some casual Chinese food with a big group of people (We got 10 dishes and the total ended up being only $240, post-tax for a group of 9! We all left STUFFED).“

Im sure others have already mentioned this is an out of the way hole in the wall hidden in a basement in Chinatown.. dumplings are very fresh and cheap and also available wholesale as well, 30 for $10 if I remember correctly. I had a an order fried and ate them standing outside on the sidewalk, but these nice people do have a few tables if you'd like to sit down. A very NYC foodie experience if you ask me and I will visit as often as I can! I truly appreciate that at least one of them speaks English. It is apparent that they are hardworking and very attentive to their customers despite their humble setup. I've received substandard service from better places than this, so for all these reasons I will be visiting as often as I can.“

“This is great Chinese food, Hong Kong style. Their lunch specials are affordable, delicious and filling. For dessert I recommend the mango dish - it’s like a juice with grapefruit pulp and was refreshing and really delicious. Service was amazing.“

“Went to Twilight Lounge yesterday as a group of 4 - we had a great time. When we got in, we immediately noticed the atmosphere - it wasn't too loud, and the decor was nice.

The surpassed our expectations though.

We ordered several things, the cucumber and wood ear appetizers, braised fish, crab and egg tofu, pork belly, bok choy, stir fried potato. I was surprised when all of the dishes were good - when ordering so many dishes usually there's something that's not well seasoned etc.

I enjoyed them all but was surprised by how good the bok choy was - tons of garlic, very flavorful and cooked just right.

“I went to a lot of restaurants in New York that were much fancier than this cart but this was my favorite food of the day. The cheong fun was gooey and had qq and a decent amount of meat. For $5 for the large, it was such a deal and fed three of us as a snack. I would go back in a heartbeat and order more. Wish we had this in Chinatown in Houston.“

“Wo Hop is a true NYC classic and absolutely worth the visit. The beef chow fun is amazing, but don’t sleep on the vegetable dishes — the Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce and the green beans with black bean sauce are outstanding. The egg rolls are just right, and the pork fried rice is excellent. Add in the old-school staff who keep things moving with charm, and you’ve got one of the best Chinatown dining experiences around. A legendary spot that always delivers!“
