“This is a small but great place to grab a quick bite. Their curry fish balls and rice noodles are delicious and fairly cheap. There aren’t many places to sit, but if you manage to snag a spot, it’s best to eat everything while fresh. I’ve been here a few times now and am always looking forward to the next time!“

“The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. The women sitting at the front is very friendly and welcoming as well. As soon as we sat down they handed us our menus and gave us time to decide what we wanted to eat and drink. I give them 5 stars !!“

“This was my second time here and we had a bunch of things! The standouts for this place was the crab roe Tofu, the summer max (cocktail), the pea shoots, fatty beef in sour soup, the feihong spicy shrimp, and the fish blossom(sweet and sour). This place is definitely a must visit and will definitely come again.“

“Pleasantly surprised to find this authentic spot full of amazing flavors in the middle of our Williamsburg day trip! Walked in for lunch, we got lucky to get in before a big party, but either way their service is great- I asked for recommendation and I was not disappointment. I only wish I had more mouths to feed at my table so I could have ordered everything to try. I thoroughly enjoyed the “husband and wife special” chilled beef and tripe in chili oil and peanut bits, and the sautéed green beans. I believe if you get the lunch special for the dishes you’d get a side white rice, which is much needed to mix with all the delicious sauces! I also ordered the dan dan noodles which were also very delicious. They have quite many options in their menu and all seems really great to eventually try. If you enjoy sichuan flavors this is your spot!“

“Yingtao offers an elevated dining experience, honoring the owner’s grandmother with both its name and the thoughtful approach to each dish. The restaurant’s sleek, modern interior and open kitchen immediately impress upon entry. The tasting menu is a carefully curated array of dishes with refined flavors, with the duck, toast, foie gras, and nian gao standing out as memorable highlights. The flavors here are subtly layered and delicate, showcasing a restrained elegance that even extends to the desserts, which are perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Service at Yingtao is exceptional, among the best I’ve encountered. The front-of-house team is attentive and professional, and a special mention goes to Ria, whose deep knowledge of the menu enriched my experience by offering thoughtful insights and explanations. Yingtao is a beautiful homage to family and fine dining—a truly refined experience that’s well worth a visit.“

Food was delicious especially the Szechuan spicy chicken, fyi doesn't come in a sauce. Scallion pancake was very tasty, as was the chicken soup dumplings. Definitely recommend this place.“

“Yo Ji Shi Mo made our favorite steamed rice noodles on this visit. They were so good, we visited twice. Their Signature #1 is a great way to go. We also got #10 and while more simple, it really let the melt in your mouth noodles be the star of the show. Highly recommended!!!“

“This small cafeteria is nestled in Manhattan's Chinatown, serving up some of the most authentic Chinese food I have eaten anywhere in the city, let alone out of the country. The portion sizes, as can be attested by the spicy chicken curry with hand-pulled noodles and grilled pepper chicken served with rice, are huge. Flavor profiles have that perfect mix of Chinese and Indian spices, like home-cooked meals. Prices are very reasonable, considering the portion sizes. Although small and usually crowded, the line goes quickly.“

“Got the Beef Noodle Soup, medium spicy, with fish ball toppings. The meat was perfectly tender, very easy to chew and the soup was also the right heat level, medium was perfect if you enjoy eating ramen. The vibes were great, very open area and lots of space. 10/10 would eat here again!“

“Ottimo ristorante di Ramen (giapponese e non quello "tarocco" o fatto con quello istantaneo del supermercato) che offre anche una fantastica selezione di ravioli. Prezzi tutto sommato accettabili per la media della città e acqua gratuita. Posto piccolo, accogliente, staff cordiale e velocissimo. Porzioni corpose quindi ordinate con cautela o non riuscirete a finire tutto.“

“A little gem of a place smack down close to midtown: affordable, delicious, good portion sizes, and great ambience. The waiters are attentive and there’s a good buzz around the restaurant.
I ordered the seafood Lo Mein, the portion size was just right with a good amount of seafood and great wok-hei.“

“Came for dinner with a group of Chinese friends. Food is good but not what I would called Sichuan. I can recommend the Sautéed pea shoots, Peking duck w soup, Cucumber salad and the Mapo tofu. I CANNOT recommend the grilled fish, it was terrible.
The decor is honestly bizarre, as my friend put it, a mahjong factory. Service was ok, but dishes were slow to be served.“

“I made a Friday night reservation for my father's birthday, and it was packed by 7:30! The majority of the crowd was on the younger side.
That being said, it was a bit weird that I arrived with my family just a few minutes before our reservation time, but some younger couples behind us were greeted and introduced to their tables first. The hostess did request we honor a 1.5 hour seating and I thought that was pretty reasonable given how busy it was.
The food highlights were the whole fish and the unique fried glutinous rice balls! The whole fish was rich with a spicy and non-spicy diced broth, which was subtly spicy. Fish was cooked just enough to not fall apart in the chili pepper sauce. I've never had black sesame glutinous rice balls before deep-fried and then stir-fried with pickled mustard greens; it's a pretty interesting flavor combination that I ended up liking. It's a bit on the pricey side for what it was but worth trying if you're feeling adventurous.
Other dishes including the Chongqing noodles, sauteed pea shoots, and Zi Ding (spicy chicken), and truffle fried rice were perfect. I'd avoid the black pepper beef cubes, which were a little under-seasoned.“

“The prices here are great—very cheap and affordable. However, they don’t accept cash, and the food quality is a bit questionable. I ordered the dumplings, which were quite salty even without soy sauce. The steamed dumplings are 10 for $5, while the fried ones are 7 for $10. Unfortunately, the fried dumplings weren’t crunchy at all. You need a key to access the restroom, and there’s no tip or tax added.“

“"It isn't too spicy for Chinese people, but It is for French people"
The owners are adorable and super friendly, we really had a great time!
The dumplings are delicious, you can ask for the hot sauce on the side so as not to risk having your mouth on fire ?
The price remains a little high, too bad it would have been a perfect score without that¡

“Generally I give the total five star to this restaurant considering its flavor, service and environment. The steamed pot chicken soup is super good I will definitely choose this every time, on top of that I like sugar cake and highly recommend it. Besides, tomato beef soup, Dai style stir fried beef are also nice to try.“

“MLW is a classic spot, especially if you're into those famous pork buns (char siu bao) that everyone talks about. The buns are soft, sweet, and packed with flavorful roast pork – definitely a must-try. Besides the buns, they’ve got other dim sum items and pastries like dumplings and egg tarts, and they’re all pretty tasty. It's affordable too, which is why so many locals love it. As for the vibe, it's super casual – don’t expect anything fancy. It’s a bit old-school, with limited seating, so it's perfect if you're just looking for a quick, no-fuss bite.
Overall, if you’re in Chinatown and want something cheap and delicious, Mei Lai Wah is definitely worth checking out. Just go for the pork buns!“

“A very fun and entertaining meal. Everything was really good - my favorites were the broad chili noodle and mushroom Peking duck. They really like to add a bit of flair with their meal presentation. I do wish that you could eat the mapo tofu rice after it's set on fire - who doesn't love crispy rice? I guess they use some sort of accelerant that makes it inedible.
We overordered because the entire menu sounds really good - the leftovers heated up well. The staff was really attentive and helpful.“

“The place is heavenly. The decorations, statues, interior design, barista station, and the elegance of the mansion-like restaurant makes me want to return one of these days. I ordered a delicious bowl of Teriyaki Chicken, and my body felt healthy with the dose of sesame. I requested a complementary side of Teriyaki Sauce with that order. When I rechecked the menu, I missed a dish I overlooked. My gut then should have told me to get the Mongolian Beef, one of the most prized Chinese cuisines of all time. Even the waiter who professionally served me recommended it. Nonetheless, I want to invite my party of fabulously dressed friends here. We have been exploring many restaurants, and this one is very, very elegant. It is time to return one of these days for the Mongolian Beef.
Vegetarian options: One of the salads, Buddha’s Delight, is a dish I recommend. Highly nutritious and delicious. Many desserts, soups and salads have customizable ingredients vegans can see before placing an order.
Kid-friendliness: On my visit, there was a modest family, a single mother family, who happily visited the restaurant and dined there. So yes, it is family-friendly.“

“Do recommend! Happy about this new addition to the Newport neighborhood. The interior is gorgeous with beautiful decorations. It is clean and spacious. We were excited to check it out and were not let down!! Fantastic experience through and through. Service staff was friendly and polite, attentive (frequent water refills and clearing of table was great). Food arrived fast and in proper order - first appetizers, then main course. Ordering via app helps accelerate the process, and what it also does: it gives the customer the option to decide when to aak for the check. Mind = blown! Awesome feature because you can always go back to order more at any time. Our dinner XP was extremely positive.
Recommendations: cold eggplant w special sauce appetizer (see photo) made my taste buds dance, Zha Jiang Noodles an indulgence. The Pork Pancake was crispy and good as well.“

“I recently dined at New Chinatown Restaurant and Bar, and it was an exceptional experience. The fusion of Chinese and Thai flavors is both innovative and delicious. The ambiance is inviting, with a modern twist on classic decor, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall great atmosphere. “It’s great food and a great price. There are so few tables and many customers. The outside isn’t even aesthetically nice for you to take your food to go and eat it outside. If your plan is to buy food and take it to go, this is the right place for you.“

“Great prices for delicious food. I see why Guy Fieri has come here three times. The noodles are perfectly imperfect and the flavors are spot on. The only questionable thing about the place is that the duck is served bone-in which brought down my wife's enjoyment of her dish“

“I’m from China and had been long craving authentic good quality Chinese food. When I was in NYC this summer with my parents and boyfriend, we went to try this place out, and that was one of the best meal I had in my life! We tried Beijing duck and skewers as well as some vegetable dishes, everything was so delicious, nicely put together, and other items on the menu also looked authentic and delicious. Will visit this restaurant every time I come to NYC.“

“WOW!!! This was my most favorite restaurant from the time in which I lived in NYC. If you don't mind the sketchy scavenger hunt it'll take to find this place, it is ABSOLUTELY worth a visit.
When I found out how cheap their dumplings were, I knew I had to find the gusto to give this place a try. I eventually found the abandoned (and as an "urban explorer" of abandoned buildings, I do mean ABANDONED) shopping mall in which this place is located. A few sketchy characters stood by the entry door, which reeked of urine. Still, once I was inside it was game on, and into the basement I went. After a few twists and turns I found this place, where a handful of people were already busy eating.
I ordered two plates of dumplings and was so stuffed I could hardly walk. Their steamed dumplings and bao were both delicious, and I could see them being freshly made right in front of me.
The steamed dumplings were so good that I spent $30 for 60 frozen dumplings to take to work for lunch for the week! Those did not disappoint, either.
Again, I repeat, I lived in NYC and this was my most favorite restaurant, not to mention cheaper than even the cheapest hot dog cart, too!!! Forget D1n T@i Fung (which I've also been to, btw)--come here and spend ten bucks on a plate of bao and dumplings instead. They'll be just as much cheaper as they are more delicious.“

“One of my favorite Szechuan spots in NYC. They are probably the best in LIC as mentioned in their name.
Only miss I’ve had here is the mapo tofu. Too much oil and had no meat.
But I would recommend the green beans, cumin lamb, dry pot. All delicious.“

“Din Tai Fung has been a long-time favorite of mine, and I’ve visited their locations across Asia more times than I can count. So, I was really looking forward to the opening of this NYC location. It took some time, but as soon as I walked in, I could see why. This isn’t like the more casual branches I’m used to – they’ve gone all out, creating a stunning space that’s perfect for a special night out. Though it’s a large venue, it feels intimate, and the table arrangement makes conversations easy. Service was excellent; our waiter was excited to introduce us to the restaurant and stayed attentive throughout the meal.
Now, the food! We tried two varieties of their signature xiaolongbao – the traditional pork and the pork and crab. Both were superb and just as good as what you’d find in Asia. The paper-thin wrappers are some of the best I’ve had outside of the Pacific, with great flavor and delicious soup inside. The pork chop fried rice was also outstanding – tender, juicy pork served over perfectly cooked fried rice. We also enjoyed the seaweed and tofu salad, which was a great starter. I did miss the wild vegetable tofu and sesame oil salad I’ve had in Asia, but I imagine it might be due to ingredient availability here. Prices are a bit higher than their Asian branches, but for me, the atmosphere and quality were worth it. I’ll definitely be back.
Note: Unlike other locations, this one is reservation-only.“

If you walk down the block to get some pizza or pasta they’re all $15-$20 and up. Will be back for quick and good food.“
