I'll be thinking about the Uni Crispy Rice for many days. my only gripe was that the menu is a QR code, needing to use our phones. In an environment like this I would've preferred to not have my phone out at any point, but I will definitely be returning!“

“5 stars are not enough to tell you how good this place is. We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

“Had the chef's tasting menu dinner with two friends. It was consensus 5 ⭐ for the food afaict. One of the friends, who typically won't visit the same restaurant twice, indicated it was so good they would consider returning. They also added onto their list the sister's restaurant of Traif.

My favorite was probably the scallop risotto, closely followed by the caprese salad.“

“Super unique and delicious maple praline brown butter pancakes! More cake than pancake. The wait was not long to get a table and the service was prompt, professional, courteous, and didn’t leave us in want of anything. All of our needs were met. Encased in their soft and freshly made bread, the sandwich was a symphony of flavors, perfectly complemented by the crispy and tasty house-made chips. I moved here from Texas a year ago and love everything about the city (except for the rent), but I do miss Tex Mex and good tortillas. New Mexican is its own cuisine and sure hits the spot while also being healthier, and those tortillas are a game changer. My guests have been talking about Hart’s every time I make a wine recommendation or ask them where they like to go. 7 months after first hearing about Hart’s, I was able to go on a night off. Not gonna lie, the service was impeccable; friendly; open concept kitchen and kindness. Elan was immediately approachable and the whole team took care of us immediately. We will definitely be coming back - and I’ll be sending my partner with his friends since he doesn’t have an industry job.“

“Those in the know won't worry to much about 5 leaves not being rated a 4.5 or higher, why you ask? Because it really doesn't matter when the ricotta pancakes are THAT FREAKING GOOD! Seriously every 3rd person orders those pancakes. They also have a great Mocha and black kale salad. If you're not in the mood for sweet fair try the moroccan scramble which is perfect for something light but filling. I got the BLAT on my first visit and it was also good. Now if you're there for dinner been warned the burger is quite filling but it will be worth it even if you gotta waddle home.“

The bar seats are nice because you can watch the chefs at work, but it’s very dimly lit, so a table might be a better choice.

Even though the head chef has changed, it seems the dishes now have richer flavors, perhaps due to the added South American influences.

We ordered the broccoli tacos, the chopped salad, and shared the burger. Everything was delicious! The burger is so good, very simple, but you can tell they use good quality meat. The salad was fresh and had great acidity to it. The tacos were crunchy with great mouthfeel and were absolutely yummy.

My only gripe was with the service! It was horrible. The hostess/waitress was rude as soon as we stepped through the door. I had to flag down staff each time we needed something. When it came to the bill, I had to get up and ask the bartender for the bill. Inexcusable, especially since the food is not cheap at all.

Old school, traditional recipes with a twist of new flare. Mikey is a wizard for creating his cocktails. I had the pleasure of trying two of them that he created after thinking about them for 12 years and I highly recommend them the Garlic Gibson and the Bitter tree, both are amazing.
