“This place was both FUN and DELICIOUS. It almost feels like you're walking into a speakeasy, and the staff greet you like you're about to party with them all night (and you truly do). I didn't know what to expect going in, but you really are partying while enjoying fine dining- a rare combo! They have unlimited sake shots, and I truly mean unlimited. As soon as one chef noticed my cup was empty he was ready to pour me another. The staff were dancing, singing, and making delicious food all at once. If you're not a sake fan, don't worry- they give you water and still make you feel like you're a part of the party. Would return again for occasions like a girls night out or a fun birthday dinner!“

“Their menu is extensive but I got classic things like the curry puffs, crab rangoon, and pad khee mao which were all great. The pad khee mao was quite spicy and I can handle a good amount of spice so I would ask for it not so spicy if you can’t handle too spicy. “I LOVE Ishi so much... This was my favorite omakase experience in NYC! Brought my parents here for their anniversary and their first ever Omakase.The ambiance is lovely. I happily sat at the bar. FIRECRACKER ROLL This was on their April exclusive menu. Filled with Japanese sweet potato, avocado, unagi, and topped with gochujang mayo & chili salt. DELICIOUS! It deserves to be a staple menu item. TORCHED AND PRESSED One of my go-to menu items. This roll is so melt-in-your-mouth creamy. I drool every time. I even convinced some girls sitting at the bar to order this roll. BANG BANG BROCCOLI My numero uno go-to dish since I visited the SOBE location a few years ago. Will never not order this. Crunchy. Flavorful. Amazing in every way. As they were leaving, a couple asked me about this dish and I let them each have one floret. They were sold! (Not all PLANTAs have the same dishes, but luckily, two of my favs have been at all the ones I've visited: FL, CA, IL, & NY.) TRUFFLE RICE I tend to avoid the main dishes and stick with starters and sushi, but I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, I should've followed my instincts. It had a nice flavor to it, but it was dry and the rice was overcooked. Disappointing. There was so much potential with the cumulation of ingredients. As a PLANTA Passport holder who doesn't live near a PLANTA, I was excited to be able to use my birthday reward - a free dessert! But they didn't have my fav available- the giant chocolate chip cookie, so I ended up passing on dessert. Service was great. As busy as he was, he kept my water glass filled. The worst part about my visit is that I rushed out to catch my Uber back to Brooklyn and left my leftovers on the counter. I may have shed a tear about it. Tip: there are outlets and hooks at the bar.“

“Had the best introverted time at KazuNori! I finally arrived in NYC after a 5 hour flight and 1.5 hours Uber to my hotel. After checking in and dropping off my stuff, I was starving! Thankfully, this place was a 3 minute walk away. I walked in and was immediately seated as a party of 1 in the corner of their bar seating. Awesome ambience with low light for intimacy with yourself or your companion. I ordered their 6 hand roll set for $34 and it was well worth the money. The chef goes at your pace, but it's best to each hand roll asap as it's so warm because of fresh rice. Each roll was filling and amazing to finish; my personal favorite was the bay scallop roll. I was done within 15-20 minutes, and KazuNori checked off all the boxes from speed, quality of customer service, and great food quality. Would come here again and definitely recommend!“

“Come here for the experience.Talented sushi chef - the fish came out distinctly silkier than other places, the torching was perfect (not too much or little) and the proportions were excellent. The team were all very nice and worked well together and it was a... fun! experience. The music was a loud, opinionated mix of pop and country.One complaint - some of the fish wasn't as flavorful or fresh as I'd like. We were the first seating, but the uni tray was half empty and it looked tired. Other fishes weren't as good as other places. I'm assuming this is an issue with them being new and not having the volume yet.“

“Love this place! The sushi is so fresh and tasty. And reasonably priced. Free green tea pudding with Yelp check in! The pudding is topped with a spoonful of sweetened red beans. A delicious dessert! My favorite is salmon and here, it's melt in your mouth fresh and yummy. My favorite dish here is the Salmon Lover. It's salmon four ways plus a side of kani salad with some roe on top. Thick generous portions of sashimi, also has sushi, salmon avocado roll, and a grilled salmon collar (when available, otherwise you get 2 pieces of salmon belly). This place is so good, in one week, I went 3 times and still not tired of it. Not crazy about the chicken kaarage. The pieces are too small so when fried, it becomes dry and loses its juicy tenderness. Tried some skewers. A tad on the dry side. I'd stick with the sushi. Though the skewers were very popular with the kids at the table. Service. Attentive. Tea constantly being refilled. Decor. It's a small place. Lots of wood decor. The space is narrow with seating to the left and right. In front, a few private mini booth rooms covered with a curtain, line the side of the restaurant. These can seat up to 4 people. There is also a small party room downstairs. In the back, you can sit in front of the sushi chefs if you like, at a high counter.“

It seems to be more of a takeout spot My friend and I split the Sushi & Sashimi Premium- 15pc of Sashimi & 10pc Sushi - $60.00 It came out in like 10 minutes of ordering. The sushi was very fresh and had great taste. It was not enough for two people and we should've ordered more, but that's personal preference.“

CRABMEAT with CRUNCH SEAWEED: reminds me of tacos because of the crunch! BLACK SESAME PANNA COTTA: my fave cause the black sesame has earthy taste and the panna cotta is so silky smooth. HOJICHA PUDDING: taste like tea and the pudding was so soft, melts in the mouth. PEACH LYCHEE: omg so good, the sake is little bit strong but the combination of the peach and lychee is perfect. WATERMELON COOLER: so refreshing and light. Price rating: 8/10, thats the only thing cause its Michelin Restaurant it will be expensive, but it is so good! Definitely will come back here! If it is your first time go for DOMOKASE. Get the scallop risotto too!“

Service was fast, taking away our plates before we were even done chewing. Didn't mind it too much but it did feel a little rushed.“

“Pros: Good food! After a few visits we tried all of the small plates and rolls on the menu and everything was delicious. Fun cocktails. Cozy and comfortable. (Try to get seated on the perimeter of the space, the tables in the center of the room can feel a little claustrophobic.) Fairly priced. Cons: Uneven service. On two separate visits, the server forgot my drink. The server on our last visit was downright surly; she really seemed like she did not want to be there at all and spent most of the evening ignoring us. And, also during our last visit, we almost turned around and left because it looked like the place was closed. It was dusk, all the lights and signage were turned off, tables and chairs were stacked out front and a large pile of cardboard recycling was waiting to be picked up. I only saw that there were lights and people in the back of the space when I was out front.“

The host/server was so attentive and sweet during the entire 1.5hr experience - my water/tea was refilled almost automatically after every sip. “We walked in with no reservations on a Saturday night (we had just arrived in the city) and only had a 45 minute wait. The food is delicious, I had pork tonkatsu ramen, and my husband had a seafood okonomiyaki. We shared a soy and ginger beef appetizer and got their seasonal Miu Miu cocktail. The service was quick once we were seated and the staff was friendly. The only drawback is that the space is loud, and it is uncomfortable to try and have a conversation over your meal. That may not be a problem on a weekday though.“
