BUT the real star was our server Kalina (forgive me if I spelled this wrong) she has curly hair, and adorable accent and she made sure every moment in there, we felt special, attended to, and heard. Kalina, you will remember us, the ladies toasting to Taylor Swift, and we love you!“

“A solid five stars! ⭐️ The ham was sliced so thin it melted in the mouth (made us wanting to buy a cutting machine). The Shishito peppers (a daily special) were perfectly grilled to perfection. The wines were both funky and delicious. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cool and relaxing. Absolutely nothing to complain, and we can’t wait to visit again!“

“Really good fancy-ish restaurant with some incredible food!

For appetizers, we got the oysters and we were really impressed with the plating, taste, and especially the horseradish garnish. But that didn’t even compare to how good the beef tartare was which we cleared real quick. It had a kind of French onion dip with either roasted potato squares or croutons (we couldn’t figure out which). I really hope I can try to replicate that or get it somewhere back home!

Then for the main course, my cousin got the lobster spaghetti, which was a lot of food so she shared some with us and it was really great! I got the roasted duck and peach which had a really good demi-glace sauce. The duck was very tender and meaty which paired well with the sweetness of the roasted peach.“

“Maison Boulud serves an excellent three course lunch for a mere 50 CAD. Five options to choose as a starter and main, and two as a dessert.

They also have an exquisite wine list, which is rather expensive, but if you explore the list you can find very good affordable wines.“

“What a beautiful gem! Just steps from Dorchester Square, which we visited after our Montréal at Night bus tour, we stopped into Bar Dominion for drinks and a snack. This gorgeous old bar opened in 1927 and has been lovingly maintained in its original style. The food, drinks, and service were excellent. Our waiter, Tim, was incredibly friendly, provided outstanding service, and knew so much about the menu and the bar’s history—even though it was only his second day on the job! Can’t wait to come back!“

“Came for MTL á Table promotion - a wonderful evening! This was high level cooking in a style I didn`t know, sub-Saharan African specialties and inspiration. The servers were warm, professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The atmosphere was cozy but not cramped with music that was not too loud and convivial. And the food was great - every dish came out perfectly, beautifully presented, delicious even though it was unfamiliar (part of the appeal). From the dual eggplant with watercress foam stew appetizer through the cooked banana with light chocolate and biscuit dessert, all was done to perfection. My main course (Palette of Bon Bœuf low-temperature beef, lacquered with tomato juice flavoured with curry and turmeric, butternut squash purée, potato cromesquis, marinated zucchini roll) was amazingly tender and delicious. Artful and satisfying, we will be back! An additional thanks for using warm serving plates, which kept the delicious hot food warm without rushing through it! It`s a sign of a good restaurant that knows what it`s doing. Highly recommended!“

“Very fun, casual, laid back lunch. Elevated yet approachable. The food is excellent. Some of the best fries I have had in the city. The pavlova was perfectly airy with a satisfying crack. The service is easygoing with a light touch. If you want to be doted on very carefully this might not be the spot.“

“The food is good, the decor is nice, service is ok. I did not like the loud rock music though, very unusual in an izakaya restaurant. The buns with braised pork were cold and came with pickles, still very surprising. I am happy I tried it but it is not the kind of izakaya I am used to. So be aware of that when trying it. And no happy hour offered vs what says the black board. Still worth the try.“
