“I was excited to go to Joe Beef with my son, since we both had been hearing great things about the place for years. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted by several of the staff as we walked through the restaurant to our bar seat. I always try to sit at the bar since you can chat with the staff, as they cook or prepare drinks. The service was outgoing and helpful, and the atmosphere was charming and cozy. We started with the escargot, which were great, but the butternut squash soup was absolutely spectacular, and by far the best thing of the entire meal. After that, we had the duck, and the lobster pasta, which came highly recommended. The duck dish was succulent, apparently “free range” which gave it a bit of a gamey taste, and it came with a gorgeous savoury sauce which included delicious duck hearts. Unfortunately, the lobster claw, (still in its shell), that came with the pasta was a little off, not exactly fresh, but the other parts of the lobster were great. We finished off with the “Profiteroles Poire & Chocolat”, an ice cream, pear, cookie and chocolate dessert. As I understand it, the ice cream was homemade which helped make it a wonderful dessert. All in all, we had a great time, but I have to say that the food was good, but not the kind of “blow your mind amazing” that I hope for from a high-end restaurant.“

It is obvious that lot of thought was pit into the menu and a lot of training and expectation were placed on the shoulders of the cooks, managers and servers. “Cute date spot. Highly recommend going with a reservation. The menu is supposed to constantly change. Classic French with a bit of a twist. Definitely a go to if you like to order a bunch of different small plates to share. Get the dessert. The carrot cake ice cream cake with toffee dripping was amazing. Would go back just to have that again.“

“We went out for dinner last night with friends and had the best time! First, it had to be one of the best meals I have eaten out in a long time. Everything was delicious! From the scallops, the fois gras breakfast sandwich, steak frites, cod and the incredible sourdough bread and butter (ordered it twice), we savoured every bite. Then the dessert after was the cherry on top! I have to say thank you so much to Cece (sorry if I spelled it wrong), she made our night so relaxed and memorable. The way she describes the food and the joy in her face made our night! She loves the food as much as we got to enjoy it. Incredible food, amazing staff and an all around wonderful evening. “Had a good time here for a friend's birthday. It looks like the space is too compact but when you sit down it's actually quite nice and adequate spaced. I had the lamb which was good, but the hummus was much better! Lots of the shareable dishes are the better menu options. We'll come here again.“

“Came here with my partner for a drink. It's nice that you have an all adult section to avoid kids if that's your preference. I enjoyed the beer although I found the aperol spritz on the high end. I'd come back although I don't think I'd order that again.“

“Everything here is so good. They make their own ham, and the cold-cut sandwich is unbelievably good. The roasted tomatoes and mushrooms are incredible and keep me coming back time after time. Menu items are fairly simple but a tour de force in making the simple, excellent.

“My last restaurant visit on my roadtrip to Montreal after a floor New York. I had the seared Taylor seared tuna and it was great. I had a Japanese soda with floating balls. They didn’t have takoyaki but a side salad with squid. The atmosphere was great and the ladies who served me were fantastic. It was better than the Japanese places in Pensacola. I don’t know when I’ll be back in Montreal but I’ll try to head there again.“

For food I ordered the Lac Brome which was decent but not anything spectacular. I found that it lacked a bit of flavour. The server was very professional and friendly!
