“We drive up from central Vermont to eat at Joe Beef - it's a 3+ hour drive and worth every minute in the car. Oysters and escargot are off the hook every time and the service - OMG chef's kiss. Julien is the premiere server - patient, makes incredible suggestions, knows the menu and wine list like the back of his hand and even elaborates on where food is sourced. “We were clearly not the typical demographic. Some of the youngsters were amused. Servers friendly and attentive. Ambience of materials and lighting contrasts with nature of designer cocktail offerings and small plates food. Not in a bad way just interesting. Very loud. Music another contrast of contemporary and historic. Possible the youngsters thought it was all new. All the food we had was good. Shrimp cocktail charcuterie burrata and grilled bread.“

“Came for MTL á Table promotion - a wonderful evening! This was high level cooking in a style I didn`t know, sub-Saharan African specialties and inspiration. The servers were warm, professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The atmosphere was cozy but not cramped with music that was not too loud and convivial. And the food was great - every dish came out perfectly, beautifully presented, delicious even though it was unfamiliar (part of the appeal). From the dual eggplant with watercress foam stew appetizer through the cooked banana with light chocolate and biscuit dessert, all was done to perfection. My main course (Palette of Bon Bœuf low-temperature beef, lacquered with tomato juice flavoured with curry and turmeric, butternut squash purée, potato cromesquis, marinated zucchini roll) was amazingly tender and delicious. Artful and satisfying, we will be back! An additional thanks for using warm serving plates, which kept the delicious hot food warm without rushing through it! It`s a sign of a good restaurant that knows what it`s doing. Highly recommended!“

“Came here with my partner for a drink. It's nice that you have an all adult section to avoid kids if that's your preference. I enjoyed the beer although I found the aperol spritz on the high end. I'd come back although I don't think I'd order that again.“

“Fabulous spot. The menu looks deceptively simple, but dont be fooled. Dishes are designed to be shared - our favourite type of meal. Each dish is beautifully crafted with fresh ingredients and careful thought to flavour combinations. We had the ceviche, beet salad and the beef with chimichurri sauce, and then the banoffee pie for dessert. We loved them all. We’re still dreaming of that ceviche! In retrospect, probably would have had the rhubarb tart for desert instead, but we enjoyed the banoffee too.

Service is excellent, just the right amount of advice, attention and casual interaction. Love the no tipping policy too! Certainly didn’t impact the level of service :)

The atmosphere is casual and easy. Many came in just to have the burgers - I’m guessing they are fantastic too. Maybe next time!

One other note - Google AI told me that reservations are not taken. This is not the case, we reserved a few weeks ahead. It was for a Saturday night - not sure if that is an exception, but worth noting.“

“My last restaurant visit on my roadtrip to Montreal after a floor New York. I had the seared Taylor seared tuna and it was great. I had a Japanese soda with floating balls. They didn’t have takoyaki but a side salad with squid. The atmosphere was great and the ladies who served me were fantastic. It was better than the Japanese places in Pensacola. I don’t know when I’ll be back in Montreal but I’ll try to head there again.“
