“way too expensive. Atmosphere is Nice. ribs are soft and pull off bone with perfect bark, however too sweet for my personal taste. I like savory spicy. brisket was good but should have gotten marble like last time. last time flavor was better and meat was hot and fresher. sausage was a no for me personally it tasted grainy and was barely warm. Mac and cheese is good and husband said potato salad was a 3 or 4. best barbecue is Southside Market-Flavor, Henry's in Austin by the airport.“

“Just completed a tour of the Central Texas Barbecue Scene. Visited Snow's BBQ-Lexington, Louie Mueller-Taylor, Kreus Market, Smitty's and Black's-Lockhart, The Salt Lick- Driftwood and Franklin's in Austin. It was great seeing the venues and the family history at these historic sites. I visited Franklin's in the past and felt it was the best brisket I had ever eaten in my life. I am a skeptic when it comes to famous barbecue joints. I must say that Franklin's BBQ was far superior to all of the restaurants I visited with no one even a close second. Aaron's attention to detail from the service, choice of briskets, the cook, the wrap, the holding and even the slicing of the final product is evident in every aspect of his trade. I was lucky enough to run into him at the restaurant and he happily talked BBQ with me. Franklin's may not have the long history of muti-generational BBQ in Central Texas, but he has figured it all out at a level that I have yet to see equaled by the best venues in the country. This is a bucket list restaurant for those who really enjoy BBQ. It is well worth the wait in line“

“Very good breakfast sandwich, would not have expected it to work but it’s fantastic. I will certainly try to work this into my Austin visits from now on. You know you’re in Austin: sitting at a picnic table next to a guy with a man-bun, hydroflask full of coffee, working at his laptop, likely for hours. Not sure I”d want that yummy grape jelly on my keyboard but whatever.“

“This is definitely my top BBQ truck in Austin. Everything is made with love and the meat is smoked to perfection. The ribs and amazing and the brisket and pork belly is phenomenal. Their cheesy noodles are also really good. The guys that work here are super friendly and knowledgeable about BBQ. Great outdoor trailer court location with TVs. I will keep coming back!“

“From the patient staff to the patient person smoking the meat, this place does everything right!! Just like you can't rush a good smoke, you shouldn't rush a customer and the guys behind the counter helped each customer with patience, laughter and knowledge. We got it all!! First time in Austin and first BBQ in Texas so we wanted a baseline to compare all other to! At this time, it's gonna be rough for anybody to compare, everything we ate was solid!! The Beef Rib is melt in your mouth, fall off the bone, perfect meat fat ratio, smokey delicious goodness and completely stole the show! The other meats are great with that tender smoked goodness but the beef rib is where it's at! We tried three sides as well and the Mexican Corn is off the chain delicious! Smokey, spicey, creamy and addicting! Black's has been doing this for 90 years and it shows, everything was the best! We'll be back and highly recommend you skip the lines at the other places and head over to The Original Blacks!“

“Was in Austin for a few hours before catching a flight, and i wanted Texas BBQ. Coopers was recommended by a bartender, and he was spot on. Brisket was perfectly done, slaw was amazing and I can’t find the words to accurately describe how good the jalapeño bacon Mac n cheese was. Topped it off with a local lager and it was amazing lunch. TOP NOTCH!!!!!“

“We had True Texas BBQ cater our wedding at Canyonwood Ridge in October and they were amazing!! Lisa was so wonderful to work with from the planning to the day of the wedding. And the food was incredible. We got so many compliments on the BBQ from all of our guests! The turkey and brisket were cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. Plus we had banana pudding for dessert which was a huge hit! My husband and I are die hard HEB fans and this is why!! Could not recommend more.“

“Great place for some quick BBQ. Worth trying and the sides are what make this place even better. The cream corn and potato salad are some of the best. Also don't sleep on the turkey, it is hands down the best smoked Turkey in Texas. The half chicken is also really good. Pork ribs are fine, babyback ones are delicious, and the moist brisket is a go to for many.“

“Hosted a private Event at the Palmer Lane location. For those that don’t know, they have a great sized room for small parties. From the moment of planning, to day of the event the staff was beyond incredible in all aspects. The food was abundant and fresh and hot, and delicious. Whatever we needed the staff was on it. The customer service was through the roof. Thank you all for a great night, you made everything so easy! I highly recommend everyone eat at this location, 10/10“

“This places houses the oldest barbecue pit in Austin. Old school pit style barbecue done excellent. Great food, people, and an atmosphere that takes you back in time. Friendly people hanging out eating and sharing conversations. This place is Nostalgic, it still somehow embodies the vibe of old school Austin. Generational, family run, not the new craft stuff you find at the TB's or Franklin types. This is the bbq of our parents and grandparents. It's really great to be able to find a place like this still thriving in the city.“

“What a great meal! From the chopped brisket sandwich to the sliced brisket, chicken, and especially the pork ribs—wow! Everything was so tasty! The portions are generous and the wait staff and service were spot on. Our guest from France was equally impressed. Cozy, low key vibe with great food and service—who could ask for more? Will be back!“

“(Also listed on Google/Maps as “Micky’s @ intersection of Circle Dr & Thomas Springs-a 16 foot food trailer ) Just split a the Brisket & Sausage sandwich with my husband& my two boys split the cheeseburger. Both came with chips. Soda is limited to Diet Coke or Dr Pepper in the can, but kept real cold. The sandwich was so moist & flavorful. The burgers are “better than P.Terrys,”said my youngest son. Micky makes everything with love & he’s been doing this for 7 seven years and it shows. The sausage snaps & explodes with each bite. Brisket was moist it’s like butter. We all felt full & happy, but to stop back by next time we are in the area (think Austin zoo). Thanks, Micky!! Great foodie find.“
“Delicious BBQ and great sides. The sandwich, turkey leg, ribs, are all flavorful and seasoned really well. The brisket deviled eggs steal the show with their smokiness combined with the classic deviled egg. We needed another order! Overall great food and everything is run by a great family and everyone pitches in which is what it’s all about.“

“Good cheap option for Texas barbecue. It has a good space for larger groups and the vibe was great for my first time trying Texas barbecue with a group of friends. I assume if you want something fancier this wouldn’t fit the style, but I was happy with my brisket sandwich with onions and pickles and lime.“

“Went here with a friend before seeing a show at Empire and wow…what a great first impression. Our server was super attentive. She gave us a moment to decide just how hungry we were and when it was time to order the food came out super fast. Live music is often there on weekends and from what I saw online a Sunday Gospel Brunch - now that’s soul food!!!!“

“Schmidt BBQ was one of the stops on the TX BBQ Trail…a long established family business. I did a “To-Go” order and went with the three meat platter with brisket, ribs, and turkey along with the Jalapeño Mac & Cheese and Au Gratin Potatoes. Overall a good plate, the brisket was tender but a little dry. The ribs were good and the rub had nice flavor, and the turkey was very moist and tender and went well with their BBQ sauce. The sides for me were just OK and I would opt for something else next time. Service was great and the ladies took great care of me.“

We will definitely be back! 10/10 recommend! “Good was lovely … only complaint I have is the staff with the To-go orders I ordered twice in one day and both times they messed the order up so if you do order online make sure to check your items they forgot my drink a1 sauce for the steak and sauce for my broccoli second time I was missing my bread and silverware and drink . Please be considerate of those who order to-go treat them as if we are dining in thank you .“
