“After reading all the great reviews, I wanted to check this place out... and I wasn't disappointed! It's a quaint, little onigiri shop with a very friendly & welcoming atmosphere. There are so many Japanese touches everywhere for those eating inside at their limited seating & those ordering to go. The selection was simple - mostly Japanese rice balls with various types of fillings for everyone to find something you'd like. I highly recommend the spicy tuna if you can handle some spice, but two onigiri are just right to be filling for a simple lunch. I can't wait to stop by for some more rice balls the next time I'm in the area!“

“We had such a great time at trivia night at Väsen. The questions were actually fun and well thought out, probably some of the best trivia we’ve played in terms of variety and challenge. This spot is also my husband’s favorite for non-alcoholic options, which means a lot since he doesn’t drink. It’s one of the few places where he still feels totally included in the vibe while we’re out having fun. Great beer and great energy.“

The toast was toasted perfectly with the right amount of crunch, eggs were lightly seasoned with pepper before whisking, and the cheese was nice and “melty”. “This place is amazing. Last week, I ordered one of their bowls and took home ramen for my husband. He loved it so much that we went back this weekend. Even the kids ate the food (manic and cheese and plain ramen noodles), which almost never happens. The staff was super accommodating with our requests to adjust the order for the kiddos. “Found this gem while looking for a brewery that was open early on a Sunday, and had food. Mostly indoor seating, but it's a lovely space looking into the brewery. Staff was excellent in explaining the brewery history, the beers and the food. We ordered all the apps and enjoyed them all. Then we got a little creative and ordered the chicken strips to tear up and put on their mushroom pizza, as they don't offer additional proteins or toppings. Both were excellent. Only downfall was parking, but we did see something down the alley that may have been for the brewery.“

“I will turn 75 years old on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020. All I want for my birthday is some of the delicious pub grub from The Cask Cafe, and a growler or two of selections from the world’s (and Richmond’s) greatest brews. Unfortunately, this will be via touch-free curbside pickup. I’d much rather sit at the bar and chat about the role of diacetyl in English pub bitters, or the varieties of Bohemian or Moravian hops available in commercial Czech lagers...but not this year. The cask is Richmond’s best bar for real beer afficionados, IMHO. DAN MOUER“

“Terrific staff and beer as always. New set up is terrible. Nobody wants to have a full service brewery. Nobody wants to have to reserve a table. Please go back to original set up. let us sit where we want. order a beer when we want. If we want full service we will go to the restaurant side. This may work at the other locations, but Richmond isn't Charlottesville. This was our goto brewery, today's has us thinking differently now“

“Ninja is an incredibly unique and incredibly great tasting kombucha. I’ve lived many places in Virginia, and this is the best one I’ve had. I even prefer it over Health Ade, Forage, Rowdy Mermaid and Dr. Brew (I’ve tried a bunch). The owner pays particular attention to the formulation, making it so much better than those others I’ve tried. With many unique flavors in its line, I highly recommend!“

“After reading the reviews I decided to just get the chicken and biscuits. The drive thru line was around the corner! I went in and walked out less than 5 minutes with my order. Pro-tip, it’s not a lot of people inside and two cashiers. Chicken was delicious with the biscuits, hot and fresh!“

“We had such a great experience at Pinky’s! I was very silly and accidentally made our reservation for the wrong day, but the staff was incredibly sweet and attentive when we arrived. Their brunch was really popping, yet they still offered us a few options right away. We could sit on their patio immediately or take a table inside that they would need back by 12:30. The weather was beautiful, so we chose the patio. It’s also equipped with heat lamps for colder days, which is such a thoughtful touch.

We were a party of six and were genuinely impressed with how quickly they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. Our server was fantastic and the menu was full of unique and delicious options. The Pinky’s BLT was AMAZINGG and they were super accommodating with my dietary restrictions. Definitely recommend coming here for a fun brunch date or hang. Great vibes and great food all around!“

It's my go to twice a week, as I work through trying everything on the menu. Service is friendly and efficient, and quick - especially since perfection takes times. See you there!“
