“I’ve ordered three times here since Nov 2025, and the halal indication is what made me curious to try the place. I’m happy Hunan Cafe is in the neighborhood! The food is good and clean, meat portions generous, the white rice that comes as a side was fragrant and tasty. I’m not left second guessing my order unlike other Chinese take out spots that can be too oily or use too much MSG. The service is reliable and friendly.

More details: I’ve placed over the phone with no issue and have ordered using the kiosk. They securely pack the takeout. I’ve earned a reward through Toast, the ordering app. There’s plenty of space to eat-in, if you’d like. I haven’t had an issue with parking, it’s a strip / plaza lot shared with other businesses. Dishes I’ve tried: spicy chicken wonton, lo mein, Taiwan noodle with veggie, Szechuan beef, and La Zhi chicken.“

“As we're lucky to have so many authentic and diverse restaurants in Northern Virginia, we decided to give Chef Tan a try.

I'd say it's a solid choice if you're nearby or looking for authentic Chinese food in Vienna. While it's not the best Chinese food I've ever had, every dish we ordered was good and the overall meal was enjoyable.

That said, with so many great Chinese restaurants closer to where I live, I probably wouldn't drive all the way to Vienna to have Chef Tan unless I happened to be in the area and is craving Chinese food.“

“I love getting food from here. Even when I am not shopping in Ranch 99 I would go there to get food and grab some groceries while waiting.

The owner is nice and the whole operation is very clean. I’d say it’s cleaner than 95% of the restaurants out there. The owner is one of those “OCD” types lol. When you tell him how much you want for the dry pot (by weight) he would get to that weight to the exact decimal point. I sometimes would tell him it’s ok to miss a bit I am just giving you an estimate. Also he is happy to cater your preference. I love lots of veggies in mine so I’d ask him to put more veggies than meat. He’d gladly to do anything like that.

It’s spicy but I never felt it’s too greasy and the flavor is great! It’s not just done with a sauce pack. You can see fresh garlic pieces in there too.

Definitely a hidden gem. Better than a typical vendor in a Chinese grocery store. I wish all Chinese restaurants can be run with this caliber.“

“A place that we keep ordering from again and again. We accidentally ordered something not on the menu but they made it for us anyways, great service, great food, great price. When we have company from out of town and don’t want to cook we order from here. When we’re back from a long road trip I look forward to a meal from here.“

“First time trying out the restaurant based on recommendation of a friend for Szechuan Beef Noodle Soup. Have to admit, it was very nice balanced taste. It was different - not as bold - from my usual prefer spot in Fair Oak Mall, which closed after Covid. We also tried the beef stripe and had mixed feelings. It wasn't all stripes but mixed with marinated beef, and the dish was good. It just that we preferred all stripes. Our waitress was very helpful and sincere. Good experience. Will come back to try other dishes.“

“Good, consistent Chinese take-out. I don’t suggest eating in house—it smells pretty bad in the restaurant. I can’t tell if it’s something burnt, cleaning product, building product, or what, but it’s been that way for a while now. Multiple entrees I’ve tried have been very good with high-quality proteins without fat or gristle. They don’t include white rice with entrees, though. I’ve never encountered that before, so you have to explicitly order that if you want it for another $1. 🙄“

“I had an amazing experience at Peking Express! The food was absolutely delicious—everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can really tell they care about quality. The portions were generous, and every bite hit the spot.

“This place is incredible. I am not aware of any other luosifen noodle house in the area. If you, like me, are a newcomer to this style of noodle soup, you are going to be extremely impressed. The bone broth is bracing, complex, and flavorful, far richer and deeper than pho or tonkotsu. Recommend getting it spicy: it brings all the flavors together without being overwhelming. Additionally, the Sichuan menu is one of the best in the area, second only to Mama Chang's and Hong Kong Palace. This place is pretty new and trying to get its feet underneath it. “I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and authenticity of some of the classic dimsum dishes such as the shrimp dumpling and charngfun. We ordered about 25 small plates between 3 people (including desert) and we were stuffed! Some items tasted a bit too experimental and did not satisfy the classic Cantonese flavor profile that I’m used to. Some were really good! I grew up eating authentic Cantonese dim sum in Los Angeles and have tried amazing eating dim sum in Hong Kong and Guangzhou. In the DMV area, we have limited dim sum options - so this place will do when I crave dim sum! The service and atmosphere were really nice. Total rating is 4.5 stars.“

“This afternoon my mother and I ate at Chiko in Arlington. My mother had smashed salmon. I shared the veggie dumplings with my mother. I had cumin lamb stir fry and iced oolong tea. I liked the cumin lamb stir fry. Glad that this location offers patio seating as the weather outside was warm and sunny. This location is not wheelchair accessible because someone has to pull and push the front door.“

“Though this place has a couple tables, it spends its budget on the food versus space and decor. It keeps costs low by having a very small place down a side road. Parking is free and most times you can park right outside of it. They offer delivery but is popular for take out. The people at the counter are very nice. I recommend their Kung Pao chicken. It is the best.“

“Arielle was an amazing host/server. I came in and noticed it was a little busy for a Sunday night and it only looked like it was only 1 server and the bartender helping serve as well. She let me know it might be a little wait, even though it was only me. She gave me recommendations for appetizers, entrees (including every protein option) and even some drink pairings and told me about some new items which I haven’t seen before. I sat for about 8 minutes before she came back letting me know she was going to throw on her apron and help me out so I wasn’t going to be waiting longer. She brought everything out and the Combination Fried Rice was wonderful, Garlic noodles I would give about a 7/10, Dynamite sushi 10/10 and the new Lychee Lemonade was perfect just how she explained. Didn’t see her again for a while but she stopped by letting me know that she was just pitching in to help, told me she had been in overtime, apologized for any inconvenience and asked if I could leave a review and there was no way I couldn’t! Another server Andre would take over, and he did an amazing job as well especially for having to run around and help everywhere! Her energy was very vibrant and so authentic, it was refreshing to have someone be themselves! Andre was very sweet! Food was delicious as always.“

“This place has great Chinese food!! Love how it’s piping hot even after the 15 drive home after pickup or when they deliver. All of the fried rice dishes, beef chow fun, chicken with broccoli, beef chow mein are some of our favorites. They’re also very nice and friendly. Super quick too.

“The dishes are even cleaner tasting and less salty than before, and we love the new chicken wonton soup. The chefs have creatively used spices and ground halal meat to recreate pork dishes. Great for those who eat halal but also for those who don't want to feel bloated after a Chinese meal. We loved the chicken broccoli and moo shoo and will be ordering again for this healthier take on American Chinese food.“

“Cool concept it’s like +6 kitchens in 1. They offer a lot of different promos on social media. From Alana pizza, I ordered the burrata and the bacon pesto pizza. The burrata was really fresh and I enjoyed the pesto pizza. From Di Fara pizza, I ordered the pepperoni, sausage and meatball pizza. Not sure if it was dough or the pizza was undercooked, but I wish there was more of a crisp to the crust. I found myself chewing longer than expected.

Location was really clean and ordering via the app was easy. There’s plenty of street parking around the shopping center. Prices are high for the area. I would definitely be back to try some of the other restaurants.“

The owner is this local small business is customer friendly and super generous in their portion and always trying to please every order in a personal way. They always tried to accommodate any dietary restriction in addition to their healthy items in their menu. They even catering of any size with generous portion and reasonable price. Highly recommend everyone to give it a try as you won't regret it!“

“After living in Countryside for over 40 years we never found this gem. Long time patrons of Cheng’s & Good Fortune restaurants we have tried many other local Chinese restaurants with no real luck. Found China Goirmet on a whim search and it exceeded our expectations!! The potstickers were tender, flavorful and mouth watering! The moo shi pork and the crispy crunchy beef were over the top wonderful! The prices were very reasonable and they even had bar service with extremely reasonable prices. Service was extremely attentive without being over bearing. We can’t wait to come back and try something different!! Well done!!!“
