As you move down the line, there’s freshly made tempura calling your name 😂—I grabbed the egg, sweet potato, shrimp, and a few others. Then hit the self-serve toppings for scallions and more. First bite… BOOM! Deep, flavorful broth, thin-sliced beef, and those perfectly chewy noodles. Loved it! The tempura was crispy, crunchy, and tasty, especially the egg—fluffy inside, crispy outside. Super satisfying meal, and the best part? I got to walk around the mall afterward and pretend I was burning off all those calories. 😂🔥”

“We found Avila’s El Ranchito on-line and decided to give it a try. We had about 45 minute wait so we knew it must be good. A little mix up in the list to be seated. There was another “David party of 2” that arrived AFTER we did but they jumped at the chance to be seated before us. The staff was very friendly. The portions were large enough that we shared a meal and were plenty satisfied. The food was very delicious. The salsa was not what you would call mild so for those with sensitive palates be aware! The atmosphere was loud inside but relatively quiet outside. We would dine at this restaurant again.”

“5 stars for weekday happy hour specials! Popped in before a show at Segerstrom. Made a reservation on Opentable and when we arrived at 5pm there was already a line forming for the happy hour section. We ordered the $16 flatbread and sips: pesto chicken flatbread paired with generous size cosmo martini. Also ordered from the $8 small plates special: goat cheese and 3 piece steak lettuce wraps. Service was fast and friendly, food served hot and generous in portion for happy hour. There used to be live piano entertainment - there wasn’t on the night we went. They were showing baseball playoffs that time. We will definitely return when we go to a show again!”

“I went in here on a whim after not eating all day, craving soup and seeing the long line. I figured, “why not?” The line was lengthy, but to speed the process, there was someone outside providing the menu and answering questions. They also. Kept in consideration that I was eating solo, so when a seat at the bar opened up, it was given to me.

As soon as I sat down, my server confirmed what I wrote and I KID YOU NOT, my food was in front of me a minute later. There was water on the table on front of you so you didn’t have to ask for refills, and all the extra condiments were on the table as well. I simply got to enjoy my food and just had to ask for the check and paid on my way out. This was my kind of dining!”

“Came across this restaurant somehow. So I have decided to give it a try. It’s a small, cozy restaurant. Surprisingly food was good, and the restaurant very generous with the bottomless mimosa on a Sunday brunch. The champagne pour into the glass till it’s almost full. Leave only a little bit room to add the juice of your choice which was pineapple, guava, orange juice I forgot 1 more with just $19.99. It’s so cheap compare to other restaurants that offer bottomless mimosa starting at least $22 and up. Our server Gustavo was very nice, very attentive. There’s some parking in front and there are some in the back. I was there at 12pm so I found it ok. Not difficult at all. Not sure about dinner time. They do offer dinner menu as well on a Sunday brunch if you are interested you can ask for both menu to decide. For us, we ordered everything on dinner menu. lol.”

“Having breakfast at Tiffany’s used to be a New York bucket list item for me until Tiffany & Co. opened up a Blue Box Cafe in their South Coast Plaza location. The menu was curated by Chef Daniel Boulud, most known for his Michelin starred restaurant Daniel in NYC.

To say that reservations are “available” on Resy is a bit of a stretch. Yes, Resy is the platform Blue Box uses to manage reservations, but times are seemingly unavailable until the day of or the day before. Walk-ins are also subject to availability. We tried to call to call the cafe to ask for clarification on reservation times and walk-in availability, but no one ever picked up. Planning our visit was honestly quite a pain. We ended up just booking a reservation the same day instead of waiting until the weekend like we wanted to in case reservations wouldn’t be available.

Upon arrival at Tiffany’s, staff greeted us and led us through the jewelry store to the back where Blue Box cafe was located. We checked in with the host and were led to our table. The inside of the cafe is, of course, speckled with Tiffany blue. The atmosphere felt posh and elegant, yet light and open.

Although “breakfast” at Tiffany’s is the namesake of the cafe, we opted for their afternoon tea service instead. I had the earl grey while my friend had the white wedding. I quite enjoyed the white wedding tea as it was light and had notes of camellia. In addition to tea, the service includes complementary bread, scones, and a three-tiered tea tray with the works.

The bread was fantastic. Mini baguettes served with Tiffany butter. The butter, stamped with the Tiffany T, was rich and perfectly salted.

The scones were amazing as well. Warm, perfectly soft. Served with double cream, strawberry jam, and orange marmalade. I really liked the scones with the cream and strawberry jam. I wasn’t a huge fan of the orange marmalade as it was a bit bitter.

The sandwiches and savories were for the most part, alright. I really liked the chicken curry & mango chutney. Instead of bread, it was served in a little pani puri half shell. I loved the crispy base, and it contrasted greatly with the rest of the sandwiches as I found a few of them suffering from a case of soggy bread.

The desserts were hit or miss. I really enjoyed the vanilla passionfruit choux. The flavors were very balanced and the tartness of the passionfruit really popped out. The blackberry cheesecake was also very good. The desserts using white chocolate, however, were very waxy. They were definitely pretty, encased in a chocolate shell colored the iconic Tiffany blue, but they just were not palatable at all. It seemed like for some desserts, priority was given to visual appeal rather than taste.

Although our experience at Blue Box Cafe was not perfect, we still had a lovely afternoon tea. I’m glad I got to check this experience off my bucket list and live my Audrey Hepburn fantasy.”

“Bar Tinto is more than a hidden gem. It is a rare find in Orange County. It offers some of the best Mexico City style food items I’ve had anywhere other than CDMX itself. The chef uses his free range of creativity and offers such unique and amazing ingredients in all of his dishes. He truly cares and has a passion for beautiful food. My wife and I know alot of chefs and restaurants in SoCal and this is some of the best food we can find. Chef Jonathan and his kitchen staff are all one of a kind. They shop for only the freshest ingredients and offer a variety of seasonal dishes throughout the year. The Pork Belly Taco has been a long standing menu item that literally NEVER disappoints. It is incredible. Every tostada the chef creates is amazing. And the Green Goddess dressing on their salad is worthy of bottling and drinking straight.

The wine program is also incredible. The range of wine is amazing and everyone on staff is SO knowledgeable about every wine they offer. If you aren’t sure about wine or how to pick out you can give them the simplest explanation of what wine you want and they will bring over several bottles to chose from and will give you an in depth and beautiful description of all of them before you decide what you want.

Amazing food, wine, music and vibes are all huge perks but what really sets Bar Tinto over the edge is the hospitality and kindness of all the staff. Great for date night, for a night out with friends, a spot to bring the parents too, literally any occasion. We look forward to sitting in tinto and enjoying the food and wine at least twice a week!!

“Poul’s Bakery took our breath away , we couldn’t believe the cake we have taken pictures from we have searched the internet images and sent it to her the custom cake we wanted , and not only she made the identical one ,the taste was so delicious actually finished the entire slice, it’s rare for me to eat the whole slice, as many cakes are made with to much sugar , it overwhelms to entire cakes other ingredients, this was so perfectly balanced ,and l asked for second , so did few guests , we as host wished we ordered the bigger size , we don’t like the buttercream topping due to its excessive sugar , we ordered her soexisl topping , while you others ask no buttercream but we want Poul’s Bakery special topping we heard so much about it , sorry l don’t remember what it was called . My bad ,this Poul’s baker we also find out been around for decades as she is the second owner but uses the same original recipes. She said it’s a company secret Lol, we respect that Try Poul’s Bakery , it won’t s sidelong you and ask for a sample of their fantastic cannolis . And on the spot in events she actually make the cake front of your guests . We never tried that but people are ranting about it and went at viral with millions of views and shared ,,we saw it in her website . “This is my favorite restaurant! I loved it back when it was on Bristol, but I have been back to the new Red Hill location twice now and it is even more of a special dining experience. Massimo has come out to explain the history of the wine and food and the sources of his ingredients. I feel transported and hosted in a way I have never experienced in a restaurant. The food is amazing. The fresh handmade pasta melts in your mouth. We had 4 dishes... Hanuman's ceviche, Tom Kha Gai, Massaman, Pad See Ew and a nice glass of Malbec. My favorites were the ceviche and Massaman. But everything was so good. Hubs liked everything. There was literally no wait at 3 pm but come soon... Once word gets out this place will have a 45 min wait just like the mother location on Bristol.”

“KJB Pho & Egg Rolls is a small, unassuming Vietnamese cafe on Newport Boulevard that has quietly become one of our regular lunch spots.

The dinning room is simple, but there’s a warmth to it. The owner and her staff always greet you with a smile, and that same sense of care seems to carry into the food. Ingredients are noticeably fresh, portions are generous, and even familiar dishes feel a little more considered here.

I’ve worked my way through the pho, flat noodles and several of the banh mi. The barbecue pork sandwich is the one I keep coming back to: a substantial French roll, fresh ingredients and consistently good pork.

There’s a steady stream of takeout during lunch and dinner, and depending on the day, sometimes we grab ours to go and sometimes we stay. Either way, this is one of those small neighborhood restaurants where being welcomed genuinely adds something to the experience.

It’s also remarkably easy to get to right off Newport Boulevard, with plenty of parking whenever we’ve been there. If you’re in a rush they are quick to serve you as well. It’s an easy recommendation if you’re looking for Vietnamese food in Costa Mesa or Newport.”

“Anvi's Cafe brightened up my day when everything was going down hill.
After bringing my car to get serviced at a local dealership, I got a call from the restaurant I worked at that we had suddenly closed. I needed a pick-me-up and had heard of Anvi's and figured I should give it a try. Best thing to come out of that day! I got their matcha mango latte and their garlic noodles with beef. They added a generous portion of beef to the noodles and the matcha was made with fresh mango chunks, and everything was delicious. The service was also stellar, the staff was very attentive and polite. No notes, 5/5 experience, I will DEFINITELY be back!”
