“Seafood pancake is delicious and crispy. The side dishes are super fresh, especially for kimchi and radish. Any type of soup is authentic as well. Totally suggest trying!”
“A friend who frequents this establishment brought me for lunch today with another friend. Being a vegetarian I was impressed by the selections I would love to try. I ended up ordering the salmon, scallop, spinach cream pasta with capers. It was delicious! My friends ordered the pork katsu and hamburger combo and it looked awesome. The portions are so generous and it comes with soup and salad for the combo and mine came with a small salad and homemade bread. And the family run restaurant is very service oriented, friendly and a very clean and comfortable place. Highly recommended”

“The spicy brisket soup was satisfying. Not too salty and not too spicy. The glass noodles were the perfect chewy texture. The purple rice was amazing as well. The side dishes were fresh and crispy. I especially liked the kimchi. Highly recommend the dumplings. Hard to find this quality.”
“The side dishes, blood sausage soup and rice all performed very well. The environment was clean and tidy and made people feel quite comfortable. A bottle of Yakult was given as a finishing touch after the meal, which was very considerate.”

“What a delightful SoCal omakase that I think stands out really well both for being fun and delicious.
Sushi Sonagi is located in a strip mall on Artesia Blvd. before you hit the 91 freeway and by the early evening when you arrive, parking seems to be plentiful.
Coming in, I was immediately greeted and given a reserved spot at the intimate sushi bar. The sushi bar itself is really fun and full of small LA-focused delights like a bobblehead of sports stars. And the music played old school 90's and early 00's jams.
Behind the counter is Chef Daniel Son who does a wonderful job guiding the whole journey with a super friendly and laidback attitude. I loved how the ingredients are not only from his travels in Japan but also locally from the Torrance Farmers Market where I go often myself. Also love the presentation from the plates to all of the techniques he uses that you get a first hand look at.
Drink-wise, they have carafes/bottles of sake as well as some beer options. I opted for one of the sake carafes which lasted me throughout the meal. The waitress that was serving the entire seating that night was also super funny and laid back as well along with being super attentive.
As most omakase menus, this one changes every season. Here were some of my personal favorites of our 18 courses:
*Flounder fin: One of the best sushi items we had that night. So buttery and delightful. Loved the explanation and conversations as well around some of the facts and challenges around serving this.
*Hanasaki dolsot bap: Such a clever and delicious take on the dolsot bap. It's presented beautifully with the crab shell and then portioned out to all the patrons. If you wanted extras, the Chef is more than willing to accommodate.
*Miso butter atsuyaki tamago: Loved this extra little oomph to the tamago with the miso butter. Again, just buttery smooth with a hint of sweetness. So good.
*Chawanmushi: His chawanmushi was a great use of local ingredients like the summer corn and ikura. Refreshing and playful.
*Scarlet shrimp: Absolutely delicious and delectable. A bright flavor.
At the end, not only do you get the full menu but a really cute handwritten card that was a really nice touch.
Cheers to Chef Son and his crew for a wonderful and delightful experience.”
“as recommended by ishigo optometrist over the road : we have just finished a great lunch- the restaurant is clean and modern with booths and tables and cheerful staff - big and well presented mains- I had pho: the others had the spectacular looking garlic shrimp noodles: we particularly liked the crispy: rolls and rounded off with coffees of course. now off for a long walk to settle it all down.”
“It was hard to find the restaurant because it was in the back corner of a business complex. It's very easy to miss, but there's plenty of parking at least. Me and 2 friends ordered from the kiosk and waited about 15m for 3 sandwiches and fries. Inside it's quite small with only a table and bar with 4 seats each.
I got the Signature Sandwich with LVL 2 sauce. The sandwich was massive, and the chicken was so thick, incredibly juicy, and perfectly cooked. The breading and cabbage were crunchy too. The mayo was a creamy complement to the chicken without being overpowering. The spicy sauce was served on the side, and it was so deliviously flavorful and not only spicy. My only complaint here is that I wish there was more spicy sauce and that it was spread inside the sandwich, because I kept forgetting to drizzle sauce on between bites and still ran out.
The salt and vinegar fries tasted exactly like the Lay's flavor but with more potato from the fries, of course. Honestly the fries were nothing special but they gave so much that the box was overflowing.
I tried my friend's Kimchi Egg Sandwich too. The ham was pretty forgettable or missable, but the egg was delicious. The egg was incredibly moist, sweet, and delicately salty, and it paired well with the mild acidity of the kimchi.
We chatted with the owner a bit when we picked up our food and she was very sweet and kind. She made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. I hope more people check this place out, because it's unfortunately very missable in its current location. I'm going to come back but will definitely share a sandwich next time.”

“Love this place! Second time here and they're service and food is outstanding. This place is pretty low key and open late, perfect for post concert meal. Also, I may have spotted our "Fast food secrets club president" dining here tonight.”
“Gopchang. Daechang. Makchang. oh my god!! I love the smell of charcoal fire😍😍😍 I will definitely eat duck next time. There aren't many places that sell raw duck, but I finally found it.”
“We were just passing through and looking for something close to our hotel, and so happy we found this spot! Because it was our first time, we got complimentary chili - definitely see why it’s 7 times award winning! Very flavorful and just the right amount of spice. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, and very accommodating to make sure our order is to our liking. We had 2 bento boxes, Kaula pork and bbq pork. The portion sizes were perfect and the meat was very flavorful. The sides of macaroni and cucumber salad were just as good. We also had one of their many specials of the day, fish tacos, which were incredibly fresh and simple, exactly what I want for fish tacos. Next time we’re visiting LA, we’ll be sure to be back!”

“Located in the food court of Tokyo Central in Gardena, this Japanese Tonkatsu restaurant is an authentic hidden gem for Tonkatsu lovers?
Tried their pork Katsudon set (you have a choice between pork or chicken also) and the pork upon first bite was juicy and meat was very tender. Outside katsu was crunchy, the pork is lean and didnt have any fat too. Miso soup and cabbage salad was fresh and not instant, I would visit this place again. 5 stars??”

“This place is a godsend and saved me an emergency room visit!! I hadn’t had a normal BM for a week and the drink they have here is better than what they give me at the hospital. Thank you all so much and I will for sure be a forever customer :) even though I live in KY.”
“We went as a family! We have a small child, so the kids’ club was really appreciated! Soft drinks, toys, and snacks were free all the time, which was fantastic. The BBQ was delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. The staff were all very friendly. Next time, I want to bring my parents along too. It was an absolutely wonderful place!”

“I just ate here for my birthday on Saturday. I have been to Belize and this food took me right back there. The owner Leslie, is from Belize and is very friendly and attentive, as his the staff. Phenomenal food, and large portions. Get the sampler platter for your appetizer, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are ever in Gardena, you should stop here. Gardena Cinema is a few blocks away, and is also fantastic. The restaurant closes at 7pm, and most shows start at 7:30, so it makes for the perfect evening.”
“Went in for pick up on a Friday night. Was busy, was able to order at the counter and wait 15 mins for order to be ready. I ordered the garlic broccoli, shrimp steamed wontons and cold noodles. The portion sizes were great and all 3 were under $40.
The broccoli had so much garlic it was almost overwhelming. If you are so so on healing stay away from this as it will kick that flu season in the guts! The cold noodles were okay, just wanted more sauce options and other veges in them. Wontons were tasty and good portion size. It was a good go to. With so much choice in Gardena this is up there.”
“Among the Korean chicken restaurants in this area, this is a place that satisfies both price and quality. The seasoned chicken is a little spicier than other chicken restaurants, but it is delicious.”
“Great experience for my husband and friends! They went on a guys trip, I booked in advance, spoke with the team that was really sweet and helpful. Customer service and total experience was top tier! Thanks for a great time, very excited to visit again!”

“Came here for breakfast while traveling in Washington. Establishment seems to be well managed and well maintained. Matthew was our server and did an excellent job of taking care of us. We ordered the Breakfast Sampler, which I believe used to be called the Grand Slam. It came with two eggs, three meats, hash browns, and buttermilk pancakes. Breakfast of champions! We were quite satisfied when we left to hit the road to Forks, WA. We would definitely return if we were ever in the area.”
“Came across the on a walk back from Venice Beach. Highly recommend.”
“I really enjoy this place every time I visit. Japanese cuisine is one of my favorites and would definitely recommend this place. I lived in Japan and the food and flavor is very authentic.
Place is too small but that’s how actually is in Japan.”
Takeout Restaurants
“I am very partial toward Japanese wagashi and I do compare them to what I had in Japan. So it is not easy for me to remark that although the wagashi is very beautiful, the taste was not that great, considering what the reviews have for this place. I drove 3 counties to get here and I had high hope that the taste would be good; but alas, it doesn't live up to the hype. Fugetsu is actually better. So I am rather disappointed. I gave this a 4 stars ratings because they are exquisite, just the taste was not up to Japanese standard. Nothing wrong with it, hence, the 4 stars.”
“It was our first time here and I must say it was totally worth it. the service was on point and always attentive. The food was amazing. The appetizers and the main dishes were honestly some of the best udon soup I've ever had. The prices are more than reasonable for what you get. We will definitely be coming back here from now on.”
“I was visiting from out of town a couple weeks ago and wanted something refreshing for "dinner" after spending the day at a football game in the sun and eating stadium food, so opted to come here. Upon arriving, I was told that they'd changed their hours and had just closed! Disappointed and not knowing the area well, I stepped out of the store and was looking for other options on my phone when a worker came out and asked if I wanted an acai bowl. (They'd cleaned out the drink machines.) That was indeed what I wanted so I happily ordered a bowl to-go. The bowl hit the spot for what I was looking for that day. Thank you for being accommodating! Just make sure you check their hours before you go.”
“An amazing "conveyor" belt sushi restaurant with high quality fish and great vibes. I use quotes because the belt is only used to deliver the food to your table as opposed to the rotating dishes. It's located inside of Tokyo central and there's gunna be a long wait for dinner but honestly.... it's such a great market to wander that you'll find the long wait to be fun.
Almost everything we ordered was delicious, mouth watering, and satisfying quality fish. The salmon quality is so butter smooth and I actually recommend the salmon party if that's your favorite type of fish.
Most items are decently priced and you can totally get full off of 30 bucks if you order the lower tier stuff. Service was quick and friendly.
Tip: You don't need to order on the tablet lol it'll get your arm tired from swiping the fixed screen. Just scan the QR code and order through your phone.
Food: 8/10
Atmosphere: 8/10
Value: 9/10
Service: 8/10”
“The food is very good. Two of us had the galbi ($30), deep fried dumplings ($12), and the kimchi cheese fried rice ($15). The food was well prepared, served hot, and plentiful. All three dishes were delicious.
There were a number of groups, male and female, enjoying their meal with Terra (Korean) beer and soju. Evidently, it is a popular gathering spot for people who appreciate good Korean food.
We want to return soon.”

Drive-Thru Restaurants
“A cozy, hole-in-the-wall establishment offering authentic, homemade tasting dishes are unbelievable. Although I've seen the sign many times driving by, I never thought of stopping in to dine. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and will definitely return!”
“Went for the first time this morning around 9:20am ish. Wanted to try getting into coffee and this was nearby. I got the iced banana milk latte, normally places I’ve been to don’t have a good banana milk coffee drink. This place had made it perfectly. Service was rlly nice, I was greeted by both staff and they were rlly nice. The asthetic is very nice and calm. A place you can go early morning to chill and work.”
“Let's be real, sometimes restaurant names escape me. But when my wife says "Korean soup place with all the Korean senior citizens," I instantly remember she means Tofu Village in Gardena.
Here's the thing: if you walk into a Korean restaurant and it's filled with Korean senior citizens, you know the food is legit. And Tofu Village? It's always bustling with them, which is a testament to the authentic, soul-warming dishes they serve.
Their specialty is Soon Tofu, and it's honestly the best value on the menu. A bubbling hot stone bowl filled with flavorful broth, silky tofu, and your choice of protein (I'm a beef guy, through and through)? It's pure comfort food.
But the real star of the show, in my opinion, is the banchan. Those unlimited vegetable side dishes? They're a feast in themselves! Fresh, flavorful, and constantly refilled. And even when you order to go, they don't skimp. They pack up little aluminum foil containers with the best of the bunch, which is a thoughtful touch.
Tofu Village isn't fancy, and it doesn't need to be. It's authentic, delicious, and makes you feel good from the inside out. It's a 5-star experience, and I'll keep coming back for that warm, comforting bowl of Soon Tofu. And those banchan, of course!”
“Love this place. Very relaxed atmosphere and great food. Our go to place for big gatherings and birthdays.”
Cheap Eats
“This is a Los Angeles gem. Excellent quality, friendly staff, a creative menu with the unlikely fusion of japanese and italian flavors. It is no wonder they have been in business for decades.
Generous portions, and prices that will make you think it's the early 2000s again.
My personal favorite is the wasabi squid spaghetti! and be sure to get their famous $1 salad!”
“Was craving Thai food and was on our from LA to Orange County. Found this place to have excellent reviews on google. We ordered pad Thai , basil chicken and shrimp fried rice. The food tasted extra ordinary. Haven’t had such amazing food in a long time , that not only tasted exceptional but looked great as well. The service was awesome as well and so was the ambiance. Would definitely recommend.”
“Absolutely amazing. The place is a little bit small, so there's not a lot of places to sit when they're busy, but the food is sooo good! I tried their beef bugolgi and it was the best that I've had in quite a while. I will definitely be coming back again and trying new things as well.”
“I had to plan a last minute breakfast for a coworker and since I love the breakfast burritos from TMJ Cafe i thought everyone else would too! They had everything ready when I got there and are always so happy and appreceative. Love this place! Oder the Supreme Doughnuts Box they're gorgeous and totally worth it!
Vegetarian options: They have a veggie burrito that is amazing! Just remember to order it without cheese.
Parking: Its a small parking lot, but people come and go very quickly.”
“We needed a birthday cake ASAP for a new employee's birthday, they were available on Postmates so we weren't sure what we would get! OMG we were sent the Strawberry Shortcake 7" cake. It was moist, not too sweet, with fresh strawberries. The best part was the real cream frosting! Thank you for making our last minute birthday lunch a success, we've found our go-to bakery!!!”
“I first came here around 1992/3. I believe it’s the same owner?!?! Ramen is excellent…and huge portion. Their chahan (fried rice) is also to die for. And their gyoza is also excellent. These are the 3 main things I order every time. We moved to the east coast but every time I visit Southern California, I MUST stop here. I’m so happy that after all these years, they still are around.
It is a very small restaurant…but I like it and the food is what I come for, I could care less how small it is.”
“I’m a single mom of 2 and since we discovered this place back in Nov 2023 we can’t stop going, it has become our sushi place. Very Fresh, Clean, Happy and Delicious environment I would never go back to high end sushi places, this place offer that and more. I almost didn’t want to write a review risking it becoming popular and full but it’s that good. 100%”
“Sooooooo freaking good. I wish it was closer! On a cold or rainy day, hell after an all nighter or morning drinking! Come here to sober up with soup and soju!!!!”
“Clean facilities, friendly staff and absolutely incredibly delicious food made to order!”
“I have been very disappointed with food and service since covid.A friend mentioned a place down the streetFrom work.Gave it a try. Wow ! FantasticI never thought food could taste so good!”
“The most delicious authentic yakitori in Torrance!
It's a level that can be used in Japan, and if you can't make a reservation, you won't be able to get in.
Chicken sashimi is also delicious 👍
The dessert gelato is also elaborate and recommended.”
“I randomly stopped in here to grab some take out. They were only going to be open for another 20 mins. They greeted me with smiles even though they were about to close. While waiting for my take out I noticed just how vibrant the environment was. And it all centered on the two main chefs at the front that night they were very energetic and full of laughs and smiles with the other customers. I will definitely try to come here more if my work schedule lets me.”
“One of the delicious Japanese restaurants that has been around for a long time. This is a restaurant run by the owner and his wife.
The general doesn't talk much, so he looks scary at first glance, but when you talk to him, he's really nice. The wife serves it cutely on the floor.
Of course we guarantee the taste.
There are also authentic Japanese items on the menu, so you can go back to Japan after eating them.
Please use it once.
Parking: There is a Japanese cake shop, a Korean izakaya, and a barber shop in a small mall.
Depending on the time of day, you may not be able to park in front of the store.
but it's okay. There's more space.
Don't worry.”
“It’s an incredibly comfortable bar with excellent service and delicious drinks👍
I’m a woman, and yesterday, after a company dinner, I still felt like drinking more, so I decided to go alone this time. Well... It was a really good time😊, and all the customers were super cool and nice!
The service from the bartender and the manager was absolutely exceptional 💖”
“Quint Japanese restaurant that’s been there forever, hidden in the Southeast corner of a strip mall. If you weren’t looking for this restaurant, you’d miss it.
The katsu jyuu (pork cutlet covered with scrambled egg and oinion) combo is their Monday special (different Mon-Fri). Comes with either hot/cold soba or udon. Very tasty and flavorful. Worth a try.”
“The food was very delicious and the staff was very attentive - even if there was a struggle to hear properly. Good options and very kind patient staff
Vegetarian options: They have some side dishes, and a policy to not charge full price if youre not eating meat.”
“Friendly sushi chef and staff Fresh sushi and tasty kitchen food Highly recommend”
“Another Gardena establishment that has been around since time eternal. Authentic food and lots of it. Comfy surroundings, good prices. You will leave full and happy”
“Stopped in after dinner at Sushi Bei. The place have been upgraded a bit since the last ownership. Way less dive feeling (but the old way was great too!).We just had a couple drinks and didn’t sing. The atmosphere was great! A very fun party and people were having a great time. They have many premium liquors and several mezcals (my fave). Looks like they no longer have the private room in the back.I would go back and would recommend!”
“Great place to go hangout and have drinks! Had a wonderful girls night out!”
“Everyone is so sweet constantly checking in for refills and more sides, but the REAL enjoyment is the marbling on the meat and how thin it’s cut just a hiddem gem locstion for knbq”
“Great place to eat. Seriously underrated. I don't know why more people aren't here. We had the mul naengmyun Kalbi combo and the bossam daengjan combo and everything was delicious. My daughter really liked the Kalb
i”
“We went there today for lunch.Omg.. this place is absolute must try!I am born and raised in Korea so I know the difference between just regular Korean restaurants to an authentic home-made restaurant. This place rocks!Just like the taste I remember how my grandma used to make!!I already see so many Korean people here. They must know like I do!!”
“This is a local place with good food, good people and a nice relaxed atmosphere. It's a bit pricey but it is good. We got the triple threat (shrimp, shrimp, and more shrimp), and it was good (the house sauce was very good, not too spicy, not bland at all). It is expensive, averaging 35 to 45 per person, but it was good. Have i said that enough. I went when It first opened, and it was ok, I think it has gotten better, or at least this time, it was better.”
“This is a relatively quiet bar with a pool table. The staff are friendly and it's a nice place to relax and hang out. Be aware that it is cash only, so prepare ”
“This is a fun dim sum restaurant where your family can go and choose different types of dim sum and fried bread from a cart when you're craving dim sum on the weekend.
Vegetarian options: Stir-fried Bok Choy
Parking: There is a parking lot at the shopping mall, so you don’t have to worry about parking.”
“Good action in all poker games. Good experienced dealers. Decent food although the turkey club is to be avoided as it has very little turkey and less bacon. Prob shud be taken off the menu.”
“Love-Love-Love my NeighborhoodLouisiana Fried chicken store!! 6 yearsAlways Hot-Always Friendly & AlwaysCrowded with Customers!! Thats a Huge testimony in itself!!”
“Tacos Super Gallito:Street tacos from the catering truck. As of August 2018 they cost $1.59 each plus tax. I got 4 Al pastor to go, so they come in the traditional aluminum foil wrapped. They give you the diced onions, cilantro, limes and radishes in individually wrapped plastic bags. I came on a Saturday at 11 am. So there was only one person at the time and she will get your food out but at the same time she is prepping for the 12 o’clock opening time. So that’s a big plus that they take care of the customers even if they really aren’t ready and set up.The tacos are the small tortilla size regular street tacos. They are not over flowing with meat like at other taco trucks but they deliver a punch of flavor they is very pleasant to the taste buds.If you put salsa on your tacos then the green salsa will also send you to pleasant vill since it is also very tasty but it brings a medium heat that is not to over powering. They have an A grade from the county and even though they feel a bit pricey they are well worth the cost. I would recommend this spot to my friends and family and will definitely be coming back.”
“this place is awesome love the food staff is really chill completely worth the price”
“it was my first visit it will definitely be my spot whenever I'm in town”
“Wonderful woman was working the counter. Smiling and pleasant. Made me feel very welcome. But she needed help behind the counter and there wasn't anyone to help.”
“I live an hour away and I still drive here because the food is 🔥 🔥🔥”
“awesome.. yum yum ×÷÷÷÷÷ service was excellent food exceed my expectations”
“Micheladas are bomb The pescado zarandeado and the camarones islas marias are the best!!!!! And the banda on Fridays and Sundays play the best songs and the place has a great environment!”
