They pepper the kids with little treats and are so kind and patient with families. But they also offer a very serene setting inside. We will support this restaurant forever. “This winery is one of the best! We visited for a wine tasting and the gentleman was so informative about the wines and how they are harvested, we couldn’t get enough of his knowledge! The wines, all six, that we selected on our own were excellent! We will probably join the club when we get home! Also, there is a picnic area that you can purchase a charcuterie board or cheese and crackers, spreads and dips to sit down and enjoy with your bottle of wine! It’s fantastic!”

Tina is an exceptional cook, Frank and outstanding winemaker, both are lovely hosts, and their entire team is so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. My mother and I are excited to visit again.”

“Honesty, Gold Hill Winery probably not the best one among the area, but it won’t be a bad one, cause there are many different types of the wine for tasting. Also, the owner, which is an old lady seems like a fun person, she waived my tasting fee since I went there on a Thursday. If one thing I not feel quite good, that might be the deposited ashes of the grape left in the glass. To leave the customer a better tasting experience, they could add a cap with filter on the top of the bottle of the wines, so those ashes of the grapes will not fall into the glass with the fluid.”

“I've been coming here over the past decade! One of the best Buffets. Its Clean, food is Fresh every batch they make runs out so they have cookers behind making some more hot food! A little bit of everything, salad bar, fruit dessert, Mexican, American, Asian. Everyday it is different foods they make to have variety. Its worth paying the $25. Fridays & Saturday, Approx $60, its seafood day so its expensive but still the good worth and quality. Sunday they have brunch about $40 bucks. I'd recommend it and tell you to believe me cuz my tastes buds work and the amount of years and recommendations I've made to others have brought lots here.”

“Unbelievable food! I am so excited to have discovered this foothill gem on a whim. The Place is a little out of the way, but WELL worth the trip. It wouldn't be a stretch to say this is the best food in El Dorado County. The cuisine is Italian fusion rather than straight Italian, but it works incredibly well! Make sure you start with the Piemontese Bagna Cauda (AKA "Hot Bath"). It's the best flat bread you'll ever have, without hyperbole: crispy outside, wonderfully doughy inside. For main courses… take your pick. The pizza— traditional Napoli Italian style— is perfect, no matter which one you choose. The other entrees are just as good. Don’t be put off by the use of polenta in place of traditional pasta. I was skeptical at first, but the first bite washed away all misgivings. These people know how to cook! Bene, Cirino’s, Sergio’s, Three Forks… all the best Italian places in the foothills will have to fight for second place.”

“Great decorations. Even the bathrooms look like a forest. When we arrived, we were all given a light-up wreath crown, which we were able to take home. There were 5 of us and we had the fondue dinner. Each course was more food than we could eat. Started with cheese fondue. Main course was pieces of filet mignon, chicken, meatballs and giant shrimp cooked in oil and finished with chocolate fondue. Delicious. Our waiter, Miles, was outstanding. Made sure we were well taken care of.”

“This place has the absolute BEST egg flower soup. It actually has more than a little egg and a couple of chives in it. The Happy Family is the bomb! Try the Salt Baked Shrimp, soo crunchy. For appetizer have the Poo Poo platter, the best of everything. I've tried many dishes and have never been disappointed in a meal. I've eaten at every chinese restaurant in Placerville for the 40+ years I've lived here and Grand China IS the BEST!!! Go you will not be disappointed if so I'll have one of my cows give you a kiss. “I went to Annie's for the first time today and ordered the Mexicali sandwich and fries. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sandwich had just the right amount of spiciness to it with the chipotle sauce and jalapenos. The fries were amazing and crispy too. Everyone that works there was very attentive and super friendly. I live right around the corner and I will definitely be back to try the breakfast and mimosas. I told my husband it was a 10 out of 10.”

“We had a birthday dinner at Wonderful Chinese last night. When the reservations were made, I mentioned we were celebrating 3 birthdays. I did this to see if it would be okay to bring in a birthday cake and they said no problem. Much to our surprise when it was time for cake they brought out one, they had bought to add to the celebration. It was very touching and even more fun to hear Happy Birthday sung in Chinese. Thank you to everyone at Wonderful Chinese for a scrumptious dinner and helping us to make some special memories!”

“This place continues to go downhill in my opinion. We have been going there for years. But the last year we have stopped going much at all because the service is very hit and miss. A few good servers here and there. The food had also started to be not as good. We decided to try it again and for me this is probably the last time. The serving size for the price is pitiful. Especially the ridiculously small kids pizza for $12. It was burnt on the bottom besides. The garden sandwich sounded very good but was pitiful and served on a dry bun. The service was adequate but not friendly. Just disappointing again. This used to be one of my favorite places.”

I had the Roasted Turkey with French Brie + Peach Jam, Spring Greens on Ciabatta, and WOW. The flavor combo was perfection; savory, creamy, slightly sweet, and so fresh. The peach jam with the brie took it to another level, and the ciabatta was perfectly toasted. You can tell they really care about quality ingredients and presentation. This is the kind of place you go once and immediately start thinking about what you’ll order next time. If you’re anywhere near Camino, this is a must-stop. 🥪✨”

“This place absolutely gets a thumbs up from me. The ingredients were of great quality, the food was prepared excellently, and the staff were as friendly as could be. If you're looking for crispy crust on a pizza that isn't burnt, this is the place to go!

My one and only complaint is that the atmosphere of the restaurant was a little bit run-down. Everything was serviceable, but just looked worn out. Unlike other places I've eaten, however, I genuinely do not feel like this issue is born out of a lack of care on the Staffs' side. They seem to really care about the location, and do the best with what they've got.

They deserve your support! Worth every penny.”

“We had the most wonderful experience at Spice Kitchen in Placerville! My husband ordered the Chicken Curry and I had the Lamb Korma — and both dishes were made to absolute perfection. The flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced. I love my food spicy, and the Lamb Korma was perfectly seasoned for me — full of warmth and depth — yet mild enough that my husband enjoyed every bite as well. That’s not an easy balance to strike! What truly makes this place special is the charming, quirky setup. The outdoor seating area is connected to a convenience store that offers local wines and an excellent selection of craft beers — such a fun and unexpected touch. The patio itself is incredibly inviting, complete with chandeliers and a rolling water fountain. It’s one of those places you simply have to see to appreciate. Even better, the convenience store clerk doubled as an excellent, classy waiter. The service was attentive, warm, and professional — completely unexpected in the best possible way. To top it off, the chef came out personally to greet us, and we were able to thank him ourselves for such an outstanding meal. That personal touch made the experience even more memorable. The reason we originally stopped in was because I’m scouting a fourth pit-stop location for my Mustang Car Club poker run in June. After this visit, I can confidently say — if they’ll have us — we will absolutely be stopping here. Great food, unique atmosphere, and a memorable experience all around. Highly recommend!”

Called them up and they were excited to do some last minute lettering with a few flowers on one of their pre-made raspberry cakes. It was delicious. Loved the flecks of raspberry in the actual cake part, and while I'm not generally a fan of jelly and puree in baked goods, I thought it was delicious in this cake. So much so we ordered a similar cake with more customization (this time with more notice). We're looking forward to trying other items and flavors in the future!”

Took someone a while to greet us and take our order but that's understandable considering it was about 4-5 orders in front of us.... they seemed short staffed. The burgers were great and the fries were hot. I asked for a ranch and was charged $1 per container. I don't understand if someone spends $40 on 2 burgers, 2 drinks, and 1 French fry.... why would they be charged for 1 condiment? I understand that every dollar counts but that's ridiculous. If you have to charge 1$ for the container, maybe you should do smaller servings and give away a courtesy container per customer before charging. This practice alone will drive a potential, repeated costumer away. Not saying I will not return, but I'll think twice.”

“I drive by this place a ton of times. Kinda forgetting that Pizza Plus is tucked inside a small shopping complex on Missouri Flat Road, south of Highway 50, in Placerville. The pizzas are pretty darn good.

The pizzas are oven baked with fresh, quality fixings. Mmm. Simple, classic pizzas done right. The staff are the best. Friendly, helpful. They have a couple of dining areas. The place is kept super clean. No frills. Comfortable. It's locally owned by the same original owner for over 30 years. That's a testament right there.”
