Was getting a tire fixed close by and walked in to get the mortadella sandwich. Neopalitana? Which the sandwich was on point and perfect. Also it was made quite quickly. Sat outside and the owner I would assume asked me how it was. Great place and sorry I forgot to take a picture of the sandwich :)

The food is so good (sandwiches, the calabrian shrimp, the meatballs, and their gluten free pizza to name a few of my faves) but the customer service that you get from David (the owner of Heroic) makes it exceptional. I find that it's rare anymore in the restaurant industry to get the level of customer service you get from him. He is so kind and so accommodating. You can tell that he truly genuinely cares what your experience is. Customer experience like this makes repeat customer in itself. Doesn't hurt that his food is DELISH as well.“

“I had an amazing experience at Gambino’s New York Subs and couldn’t be happier with our visit.
First off, the bread was incredibly fresh and toasted to absolute perfection. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The deli meat inside the sub was top quality, flavorful, and piled on just right. You can truly taste the freshness in every bite. The veggies were crisp and fresh and added the perfect balance to the sandwich.
The woman who took our order was outstanding. She was polite, friendly, and incredibly quick, making the whole process smooth and enjoyable. Her positive attitude really stood out and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
To top it all off, the owner or manager came out and offered us samples of their Italian sausage. That was such a thoughtful and classy touch. It showed how much they care about their customers and staying connected to what people enjoy. You do not see that kind of customer service everywhere anymore.
Everything from the food to the service was top notch. Thanks again for a great lunch. We will definitely be back soon.
Highly recommend! 👌🥪“

You order at the cashier now and they use to have tomato or spinach wrap options. The staff there are the same and they are SO NICE! I LOVE them! I’m glad the wraps are reasonable $$. Also, they are HUGE and LOADED! A wrap is about a footlong. I swear it’s like a 10lbs dumb bell. I always get the chicken Caesar wrap with no croutons. It NEVER disappoints. My photos don’t do justice but this was just half the wrap. I would’ve taken a better photo but I was ready to devour this thing! “As someone raised on the east coast, I consider myself a decent critic of what makes a sandwich shop better than what you can make at home. Number one is bread that isn’t something that can be bought at your local grocery store. Check that box- I don’t know exactly how to categorize their sub roll but it’s crusty, chewy and all the things that mass produced bread can’t be. Number two is the prep of the ingredients- at home we can all put a lettuce leaf on a sandwich, but that just creates a barrier between bread/sauce/meat. Here it’s thinly sliced and perfectly married to the importance of sauce…which they also nail. All I can say is WELL DONE!“

You can tell there’s a strong recurring clientele, and for good reason. We had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, a wonderful and welcoming man, who made us feel like old friends. On our second visit, he even surprised us with fresh orange juice on the house – such a thoughtful gesture!

“I am going to change my review after being called and harassed from the owner who yelled at me. I am so sorry, You see that I belong to this crazy group of people who believe when we order something. It's that something that comes our way. It's my fault for not understanding how it works now. We order, then something comes and we are supposed to like it and only give good reviews but not our actual experience.

So it's more about the social media presence, and not the customer, ah ok. I get it. How silly of me to write my own experience down and give my opinion. Being yelled at on the phone is now dessert, and the pass the buck between the delivery companies is the point at which no one is responsible.

I am gonna continue to be thankful and make great orders and give great reviews. I will have slightly adjusted expectations knowing maybe it will come. I will write those great reviews, 5 stars all the way, yay, Although it won't be the truth, I think this is what the restaurant wants me to do.

Food was great, it wasn't what I ordered and I couldn't be more happy!!!!!!! 5 stars all the way. We will stop at nothing to protect the ego of restaurant owners in this city.

I did indeed mention 3 other places under this review who also in the same 35 hour period seemed to have the same problem. This restaurant does not deserve that shade. I have learned know the way. This public forum has no place for bad reviews, just good ones. I can get on with that.“

I could have tried it then but I wanted my own full experience and to show support for this creation.
You ever had a Bahn Mi as big as a deli sandwich? You ever wanted bulgogi on your Bahn Mi?
When you first enter you’re welcomed with smiles and a good vibe. I would suggest pre ordering as there has to be a line at times. You’re hit with a menu board and tons of options both sandwiches and drinks.
I chose the Bulgogi Bahn Mi, sandwhich was huge! The beef was so tender and hefty. Guaranteed to fill you up . The pickled veggies were fresh and well flavored. The bread! Soft but has a light crunch.
Washed it all down with a Mango Green Tea Bobba. Not too sweet and also tasted fresh.

“Embarcadero Center Gem: Unwrapping the Delicious Secret of 5th Avenue Deli & Market

I was looking for something new to try when I got hungry, so I asked my colleague for a recommendation. She suggested 5th Avenue Deli & Market, a small, hidden gem tucked away in the Embarcadero Center near the corner of Clay and Drumm streets.

They offer a large selection of sandwiches, non-alcoholic drinks, and chips to accompany their creations. Since I'm not a picky eater, I asked the friendly cashier what their most popular sandwich was. Without hesitation, he declared, "SanFranPsycho!"

This sandwich features honey turkey, bacon, Gouda cheese, garlic butter, pesto, and Cajun mayo, all piled high on your choice of bread. I went with sourdough, gutted out and toasted with everything. While 5th Avenue has no indoor seating available, there are benches outside in the Embarcadero Center. I took it back to the office, and with the first bite, I was in love!

The sandwich was perfect - the bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, the flavors exploded in my mouth, and it was incredibly filling. I'm officially a fan! If you work nearby and have a sandwich craving, check out 5th Avenue Deli & Market. This is one sandwich experience you won't regret!

“Owner is very kind, loves what he does and the community. Makes a mean sandwich. The modern sandwich was popularized in 1762 by John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, who requested meat between two slices of bread so he could eat without leaving his card game. The sandwich's name comes from him, though similar preparations existed before him, such as the Hillel Sandwich from ancient Jewish tradition. In America, the sandwich gained popularity for its portability, becoming a lunch staple for workers and students by the 1900s, especially after bakeries started selling pre-sliced bread. Nice to see someone still keeping the traditions alive.“
