“I can't believe I've lived in San Francisco my entire life and hadn't had Liguria's focaccia until last month. I came in right before 9:00am on a Tuesday and was able to get three slabs of the pizza focaccia ($9 each), which is what my colleague who grew up in North Beach recommended, to bring to the office. The scone, sunflower & pear galette, and granola called for me louder than the cookies. I will be back soon for a cookie and freshly baked bread. “Wildly popular and mostly lives up to the hype! Although, I think the Breakfast Sandwich and the Morning Bun are overrated. IMO, the Smoked Salmon Tartine and the Pressed Ham & Gruyère Sandwich are the can't miss highlights of the menu. The standard baked goodies like the Almond Croissant are also v solid. The big open seating space give me "easy like Sunday morning" vibes that you can keep going by swinging by Heath in the same building or just taking a stroll through the neighborhood.“

“When we sat down outside, with the blue hour sun hanging low across the city, the tray of gluttony and sugars sat so perfectly on our tray.Then a group of Patagonia-clad men stumbled in saying “with OpenAI” and I was reminded that we’re in San Francisco.The crookie was good, albeit not crispy. While the coffee vanilla mousse looked amazing on the outside, it was a tad too sweet. However, the highlight for me was the Imperial; paired with an iced cold brew, the decadent layers filled with a crumbly bottom and a sweet white filling inside was my favourite.Pretty good!“
“Historically I'm not much of a baklava person. They're fine, but often too sweet and the texture isn't my favorite. Baklavastory is a different story. Their baklava is perfection, with a light and crisp dough, top quality nuts, and just the right amount of sweet. We walked past and went in on a whim, and walked out with a tray. The owner is very kind and told us about his obsessive process to make the best possible product. We'll definitely be back!“

“Ive been going to this bakery since 2018 and it's nice to see that they've grown a lot since. I personally recommend getting the OG pineapple bun with butter hot and fresh. This is truly the best way to enjoy it. This time I got the pineapple butter sampler to try the different butter options available. I love the cute container and size but it would've been nicer if we got to choose the butter options vs. the preselected options they had. One important tip- make sure you eat these buns warmed up/toasted. It makes a huge difference to the taste and turns it from something bland and cold to a beautiful crispy light fluffy bun.“

“Arsicault did not steal his prize for best croissant USA. All the pastries are good without exception, the baguette is also one of the best in San Francisco. So if you are French, you can certainly think that there is better in France, of course... but clearly not in SF. Yes it's a bit expensive but those are the prices. I was sold croissants for $1 cheaper but frankly not good. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I still don't understand why there are no more baguettes at 10:30 a.m. on the weekend, no new batches coming (according to the sellers). When we close at 3 p.m., do we try to have stock at least until 1 p.m.? Finally, it seems to me? It's a shame that you can't order in advance and pick up the next day. That would be great.“
“In a city filled with famous bakeries everywhere, B Patisserie lives up to its reputation. While it's not the "best bakery ever", it's quite good and nothing really disappoints. They have a good selection of baked goods one would expect from a patisserie, and everything was quite good. Tasty kouign amanns and flaky croissants, nothing to complain about. If you're looking for great baked goods without the crazy lines that some other places in the city have, B Patisserie is a great choice.“
“I only tasted the pain au chocolat and the choux and I was won over. The cabbages are super good, the taste is fine and sought after. The pain au chocolat is worth a French one. The place is pleasant and the staff welcoming. Only remark: the tea served in a small half-full mug, a little too light for my taste, even if I am used to European portions.“

I drive from the East Bay usually late night when my husband and I are craving phenomenal donuts. The donuts are extremely fresh, the times I've been here there has been an older gentleman making them and racks of donuts ready to be bought. Yummmmmmm. Just incredible tasty donuts. You can tell the oil they get made in is also very fresh, no after taste of old oil. Donuts are not super greasy. The service is magnificent! The first time coming here the woman was extremely helpful and kind. The second time a young man helped us and he had a great personality and energy. He was telling us some of the stories of the donut place. Really enjoyed his service! The ambiance is an old school donut shop with closed off seating area but looks very vintage. “The buns here are really good. The bread was incredibly soft and airy with such a delectable milky-sweet flavor. Beef curry filling was okay but BBQ pork was excellent. The beignets were deliciously light and tasty (fried dough- what can be bad?!?) but I was initially suspicious of the biscuit until I toasted it and spread butter and strawberry jam on it. Delivery was seamless and they worked with the venue for a timely drop-off. Our guests could not stop talking about how delicious the cakes were! “A great bakery house with a wide variety of pastries. I got $12 curry chicken sandwich. The bread is on the hard/ chewy side like french baguette and the filling is flavorful. The other bakeries I got are also noteworthy like the morning glory bread, the tomato basil scone, and the crazy cookie. I would say the crazy cookie is the most satisfying to me. It has a young start up vibe with good precious offerings, a limited interesting menu for a bakery that also does lunch. It’s pretty much outdoor seating only sans the shade and expect a line. We are told by the counter staff it takes eight minutes to heat the savory mushroom pie or corn pastry with an egg inside. Everything was tasty.Personally I prefer muffins containing an egg to be soft boiled rather than hard, such as the morning muffin at Post Script on Jackson street which can’t compare to anything else. It was a fun place to try and I brought a couple of cookies home to try. The matcha latte was excellent, sweetened with brown sugar. I like that they use good ingredients on their spare cuisine. I do think they might expand the menu a tad.“

“Went to a fun chocolate tasting "date night" event at a local chocolate shop in San Francisco. Got to learn more about the effort that goes into every step of the chocolate making process, from sourcing chocolate made from the rare heirloom variety of single origin cacao beans, to the structural integrity of the chocolate, to the creative symphony of flavors and textures. Carol, the head chocolatier and founder of Kokak Chocolates, has managed to bring all of these details together into delicious, fine chocolates and sweets. The chocolate outer layer is made with 70% chocolate. It's very smooth and well balanced. We got to try their most recent batch, called Hearts on Fire, and they were tropical and delightful: -Guava Crisp -Passion Paradise -Cafe Au Lait We also enjoyed a yummy champorado shooter, which is a Filipino chocolate rice porridge. Their brownies were melt-in-your-mouth good.“

“I still give this place five stars for their gluten free baked goods and take home lasagna but overall four stars because their service still sucks most of the time. I went by here recently on a Sunday morning before a meeting to grab something hot to eat. I love their hot pockets. However, it was 9:30 am. A number of people around me and I started to form a line. Some people asked the staff questions about the pastries and they answered while putting stuff out. None of the staff thought to tell us that they didn't open until 10 am on Sundays. After about 5 minutes of being ignored, I saw the small sign for their hours. I pointed it out to others and we all left. That was a horrible experience as I was hungry and now didn't have time to get something else before my meeting. On Pi Day, I came by and was pleased they had a number of pies available in different sizes. I picked up a small Chocolate Pie that was low in sugar and a small Cherry Pie. They were the perfect size for the three of us though they could have fed more people. We didn't finish the pies ourselves. The Chocolate Pie was yummy and perfect for me but my husband said it wasn't sweet enough for him. We all loved the Cherry Pie! We went back recently and picked up their pizza dough. It came with two rounds. They were awesome!!! We put on our own toppings and popped them into the oven. They came out delicious. I love their food. I just wish the service was better.“

“Great selection for great prices, but not super differentiated from other Chinese bakeries I have been to. The pastries were high quality and the woman who helped me was super nice. I got an egg yolk custard tart, an egg white custard tart, and a pineapple bun. The egg custard tarts were good, though the crust was more like shortbread and not very flaky which I prefer. The egg white custard tarts were interesting, though I did not like them as much as the traditional egg yolk ones which I found to have a stronger flavor. The pineapple bun was good, but nothing special. I will likely be back to try some of their other items.“

“We're from San Francisco and were getting married in the city, but decided to venture across the bridge after striking out on other vendors due to price, size limitations (270+ people), or general availability. We feel so lucky that we came across Krumbs based on the A+ experience, from tasting to delivery. One thing we truly hoped for was a true cake-tasting experience. In the post-COVID landscape, everything is "come buy cupcakes and let us know what you think." We went out to Krumbs and were so excited to be able to sit down and be treated to all of their cake, mousse, and frosting flavors, and even though we had only inquired about one flavor, we left with two. They were also super-flexible when it came to design and weighed in with their own opinions after learning about the wedding vibe, cake topper, etc. Their pricing was affordable but the experience felt premium in every way, from the tasting to delivery and putting the finishing touches at the venue. We were able to hand them off to our venue coordinator and they managed everything from there. We also had them do our sheet cake for the rest of the guests so everyone could have the same experience. We like them so much we went back to buy a birthday cake for my mother-in-law a few weeks later. SF is great but I feel like we found a gem in Krumb's and would recommend them to anyone.“
“If there is one positive thing came from the pandemic, it is Philippe Delarue’s ingenious idea to open up a bake shop here in front of his flat. It’s one of my favorite places to invite friends on Saturday or Sunday morning.You can’t go wrong with any of his goods, but my personal favorite is the bread pudding. Delarue will generously add his “adults only” whiskey sauce upon ordering.He is too humble to bring up the story himself, but ask him about his journey here – including stints in Le Mans, Paris, London, and Montreal. I can’t locate the article anymore but I think he once had the honor of baking for the queen! ☺️“
“the staff are super friendly and recommended me their favorites. I got the strawberry matcha croissant which was light and flaky inside with the perfect amount of filling and generous toppings. I can tell it was made with high quality butter as it held together well without breaking into a greasy mess. it also wasn't too sweet and was complemented by the tanginess of the strawberry cream. the financier was not dry and still soft despite being buckwheat based. the menu is super exciting and I will definitely be back to try other pastries (especially the Sunday menu)“

Proper cream cheese frosting (not too sweet with a pleasant tang) tops some of their most decadent goods. The pastries feel familiar, but are uniquely delicious. So far I've tried the guava danish, croissant, bread pudding, banana muffin, sweet potato pie and the cinnamon roll. Each item has been outstanding.“
“While I was in San Francisco visiting for work I had the pleasure of visiting Flour & Branch for brunch. This is a cute bakery with great service and very tasty food. Michael helped me with a tea latte and a cookie to start followed by a brunch of eggs, brisket, avocado, potatoes, and toast. Everything was very good and the toast was particularly excellent. The croissant I got for later was crisp and buttery. Definitely stop by if you're in the area!“
