“This froyo place has limited options for frozen yogurt flavors, but a nice selection of toppings. Unlike other reviews/descriptions I read, there was no Gelato. Of the 8 flavors, 4 were non-dairy (3 sorbet, 1 almond milk). The almond milk option was yellow cake batter flavor, a flavor that was repeated for frozen yogurt. So I guess that means there were only 7 flavors.”

“This is my favorite restaurant in California. I’ve had there tasting menus twice, and each time it was a new, miraculous experience. Their food is exquisite, the service is nice, and the ambiance is as expected. It’s a hidden gem in truckee and if you have the time and money I’d highly recommend it. It is worth the price, without a doubt. I had a pine ice dish about 2 years ago as one of the dessert courses and it was like eating the best blue bird powder day ever, with a hint of cozy cabin glow.”

“We visited a few years ago, in 2018 and bought several bottles of Red Barn Red. Tonight 2/15/2025, I opened our last bottle. It held its color and flavor. We are really enjoying this lovely wine. I think it's time to visit Truckee, again. Cheers!”

“The pizza was way better than I expected, I'm a Philly girl so my expectations were low but they hit it out of the park on food.
The place was packed so the service was really slow. There was no one to buss tables and when asked there was some attitude. Tsk-tsk. Smile, even when it hurts!”

“The best part of this restaurant is it's environment and it's dog friendliness. We always go with Ares our JRT and you often see other dogs, on the patio. Food is good too, but I actually like my own cooking of quality meat in general.”

“I was searching for food that was not crowded, admittedly I was overwhelmed by the weekenders that flock from all over cities that were crammed in the shopping district. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.”

“After a bite at the Cafe, great food & staff, we hiked to the Aspen Grove. The colors have just changed and it was glorious. Short hike into the woods with all of Mother Nature’s fall palette in full view. By the time you read this the leaves will have fallen, but you should still go by Alder Creek Adventure Center ASAP!”

“Zano's provided family sized portions of Eggplant Parmiaga, Sausage Lasagna, and Spaghetti Bolognese, Caesar Salad, and Garlic Cheese Bread. They were a big hit and we had leftovers to boot for 26 party goers. Austin, the owner was super helpful. We have a place in Truckee so they'll be our go-to restaurant for apres skiing parties for sure.”

“We were walking down the street, wanting to find a bar for a fun night out. We heard a hip hop song through the doors and a friendly bouncer interacted with us and charmed us in as we walked passed it.

We sat down and the vibes were just right. A hometown bar with fun murals and knickknacks. We sat down and were surprised to hear R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, and Hyphy music. The bouncer turned bartender was a true highlight of the bar and he made us feel oh so welcomed! We ended up staying through a few lull moments and busy moments.

We thought our night was winding down, then a DJ set up and the bar was PACKED! The DJ played to the crowd wonderfully and made the vibes immaculate, EVERYONE was dancing.

To my most pleasant surprise, I got a paneer that was absolutely delicious, paired with equally delicious basmati rice and mango lassi. They were incredibly kind and gracious, and the food was fantastic. All of the food containers were absolutely filled to the brim, so I have leftovers for tomorrow. The medium spicy was more of a medium-hot spicy, but paired with the rice and the lassi it was perfect. Highly recommend!!”

“What a delicious find! When other restaurants we no longer seating, we went here and what a gem! Their chicken satay was flavourful and fresh. Fried spring rolls were crunchy and delicious. The drunken noodles were the perfect amount of spicy - some good heat, and you can't stop eating them.

Also, service was attentive and kind, and all around a treat!”

“Visiting Truckee as a tourist and tried out this place since it had such great ratings. The ratings are very true to their word. I tried out a traditional breakfast from here and the eggs were the tastiest I’ve ever had. Same goes with the potatoes. Inside, it’s a little cramped, but the food is worth it.”

“I don't normally write reviews, but I had to this time. The Truckee food scene is modest at best. Most restaurants range from bad to mediocre, with a few notable exceptions, such as The Drunken Monkey and Moody's. Last year I would have included the Dining Room at Village Lodge in the "perfectly fine" category.But my wife and I went to dinner there last night (Jan 2024), and it was immediately clear that something had changed. The service was attentive and the menu was inspired. Andrew did a great job as our waiter. Before even ordering, I said to my wife that they must have a new chef, and indeed they do! It's made all the difference.I ordered the duck, my wife had the halibut, and we shared the steak tartare. It was all delicious. We paired it with a French Sancerre for an impeccable meal. Truly fine dining at a reasonable (by Tahoe standards) price.I should note that we were skiing earlier that day, and prior to dinner had a wonderful time getting to know some of the staff at the bar. We spent the night upstairs at the lodge (cute room), and the next morning had an equally good breakfast and equally good service from Bella. Also, they've put in a coffee bar right by the fireplace between the bar and the dining area. It's a nice place to warm up after a few runs.Highly recommended and worth the short drive up from Truckee.”

“Had the bacon egg sandwich and my co worker had the sausage egg on biscuit. The biscuit was not good but the bacon and egg sandwich was pretty good. Since it is within the Ritz everything is spendy ($8 for water). Service is excellent.”

“I got the 1/2 tritip plate with coleslaw and rice with tortillas. Very tasty and fills you up. My daughter got the 1/2 chicken (which is literally half of a chicken) with coleslaw and rice with garlic bread and she brought half home. it was all tasty.”

“I really love this McDonald’s location—I come here several times a week. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and service is consistently fast. They recently improved the parking lot too, replacing the asphalt in some areas, which made a big difference. Overall, it’s a clean, convenient spot with great customer service. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.”
