The place was packed so the service was really slow. There was no one to buss tables and when asked there was some attitude. Tsk-tsk. Smile, even when it hurts!”

“honestly this may have been the best hospitality I’ve had in a while! My friends and I showed up at 10 am not realizing they closed at 11 and the host/server was kind enough to let us stay. It was 10 of us and only one of her and I think 1 cook as well. The waitress was so kind, she took everyone’s order, she was on top of things all the meanwhile cleaning up the rest of the restaurant. For such a big group everything came out so quick + the portion sizes were 10/10! My friends and I enjoyed it so much and hope to visit Truckee again to come here, but a lot earlier rather than an hour before closing. Shout out to the waitress + cook, we appreciated it so much and wish I would’ve asked for their names so they could get the recognition they deserve. 20/10 recommend!”

“My husband and I went for dinner and were so surprised at the quality of the drinks and food. Each item we had was delicious. We had the soup ( cream cauliflower) , and the basic salad . It was full of veggies and slivered almonds as well as pickled jicama. I had the 10 ounce filet which was seasoned beautifully and done just right over a bed of spinach and potatoes. It was surrounded by a fabulous sauce of mushrooms. My husband had the pork paparadelle that had spinach noodles, onions, and tomatoes in the sauce. It was so savory. To top it off, we shared a delicious carrot cake that was just the right sweetness. I forgot to mention the martini was perfect and the nonalcoholic drink that was made for me was the best I’ve ever had!! It was a fantastic meal!”

“Great service! We were able to sit in the dining room near the fireplace. My favorite ! It set the stage for a night of lovely ambiance and great food! We had lovely Cocktails served promptly. We omitted appetizers. Hubby had the steak and frites and a salad. All was excellent . I started with a cup of the Greek Lemon soup. Delicious! This was followed by the Thai Shrimp. Sooooo yummy! Spicy and so full of flavor! I had to share with Hubby and he loved it too. It was a very generous portion. We shared the sorbet selection which was a refreshing end to a lovely date night at the Lodge! Thanks to all our servers and staff. Our compliments to the Chef and his crew!”

“We ordered tuna ahi and sea scallops for appetizer , but the taste of scallops was very weird (with the sous didn’t much) thanks to our waitress Kristen, she gave us amazing hospitality and offer scallops with the sauce on the side and for main course, the same. And it work great. We enjoyed our first dinner in Ritz.”

Menu had lots to offer and the food was delicious. Unlike some other restaurants at the resort, portions were generous. And Tipsy Tuesday offers 2 for 1 wine by the glass with generous pours. Please give them a try. You won’t be sorry!”

“I was searching for food that was not crowded, admittedly I was overwhelmed by the weekenders that flock from all over cities that were crammed in the shopping district. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.”

The Italian dishes and pizzas are flavorful, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. On our recent visit, the mushroom ravioli was especially good, and the chocolate cake for dessert was the perfect finish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly, attentive service. A great choice in Truckee when you’re craving comforting, thoughtfully prepared Italian food.”

“Let’s start with the service. The woman at the till was so helpful with my allergies, extremely patient with my order, and incredibly friendly. Five stars for her alone! Wish I got her name for the review.

The salad was also great. Can’t remember the name, but I can remember the Brussels sprouts and quinoa :) solid gluten free options and a big portion”

“I went in yesterday with an omelet in mind when I saw corned beef hash on the menu. When I ordered it, the waitress asked "canned or fresh?" That was an easy choice, fresh! It was perfect homemade hash and even contained some green pepper. The best that I have had in years! I ordered it with sliced tomatoes and was in seventh heaven. Can't wait to return. The wait staff were the best too.”

“Gourmet pizza! We love coming here whenever we are in town. Family owned business and the owner is a wonderful person. We had the pleasure to meet him 3 winters ago. I am so glad how this place gets more and more popular!!

Taste and ingredients are great. The temperature control on the pizza is on point. Price on root beer is so good! Can’t beat that.
One thing to note, it does take long time to get the pizza, if you are in a rush, you can either call ahead to order or try this place when you have time to enjoy. It took us about 45mins to get our pizza a few weeks ago.

They have indoor and outdoor seating! How relaxing.”

Most restaurants range from bad to mediocre, with a few notable exceptions, such as The Drunken Monkey and Moody's. Last year I would have included the Dining Room at Village Lodge in the "perfectly fine" category.But my wife and I went to dinner there last night (Jan 2024), and it was immediately clear that something had changed. The service was attentive and the menu was inspired. Andrew did a great job as our waiter. Before even ordering, I said to my wife that they must have a new chef, and indeed they do! It's made all the difference.I ordered the duck, my wife had the halibut, and we shared the steak tartare. It was all delicious. We paired it with a French Sancerre for an impeccable meal. Truly fine dining at a reasonable (by Tahoe standards) price.I should note that we were skiing earlier that day, and prior to dinner had a wonderful time getting to know some of the staff at the bar. We spent the night upstairs at the lodge (cute room), and the next morning had an equally good breakfast and equally good service from Bella. Also, they've put in a coffee bar right by the fireplace between the bar and the dining area. It's a nice place to warm up after a few runs.Highly recommended and worth the short drive up from Truckee.”

Short hike into the woods with all of Mother Nature’s fall palette in full view. By the time you read this the leaves will have fallen, but you should still go by Alder Creek Adventure Center ASAP!”

“I really love this McDonald’s location—I come here several times a week. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and service is consistently fast. They recently improved the parking lot too, replacing the asphalt in some areas, which made a big difference. Overall, it’s a clean, convenient spot with great customer service. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.”
