High quality cocktails and probably the best organized cocktail menu in the city. Every drink is organized by liquor with graphics showing you the ingredients, the glass it comes it, and three adjectives to describe the flavor of each drink. The place is a little small and they love to cram people in so it can get tight (even for standing room) on the weekends. The only major downside is that they blast the music here way more than necessary and have terrible interior acoustics. I love the drinks but I typically cannot even have a conversation with the person standing right next to me. If they would just turn down the volume, I would go here far more but its no fun to head to a bar and not be able to converse.
What an awesome atmosphere! The drink options are unique, yet you can get your favorites if you are not feeling adventurous. If you want to sit at a table, you better show up early. Side note: if it is after 9:00pm on a Friday or Saturday, don't be "that guy" and order food and sit at the bar all night. You'll likely piss off the bartenders and the 50 people behind you waiting to order a drink. Back to the review: I definitely recommend going here and I will be back!
The atmosphere is really cool and intimate, the artwork on the walls is awesome and the servers are really attentive. We had cocktails and desserts and all were amazing! Definitely a great spot for drinks.
The location, atmosphere, and craft cocktails here are amazing! Service was very good as well. Highly recommended! Also, reserve a table! It can be busy often.
Great food, cocktails, and especially great service. Be prepared to wait at the bar on Friday or Saturday nights (reservations are only taken Sunday through Thursday), do yourself a favor and order a drink. Don't worry about edging up to the bar, a server will ask if they can get you anything. We enjoyed our burger, duck salad, cauliflower, and beverages. Entrees and appetizers reasonably priced.

Came by here for an evening drink after reading the great reviews on Yelp. They have some unique and distinctive cocktails with local whiskeys as well. I would get the Detroit for sure, it was the best out of the several I tested from within our group. The decor is pretty cool, the service was great. It wasn't jammed but it was somewhat busy.
Great bartenders. Cozy and fun pseudo speakeasy environment. Fantastic drink selection.
Cozy Atmosphere! This place is in the middle of it all but low key. Love it because it wasn't overcrowded like some of the other trendy spots only steps away from this place. You must climb a steep flight of steps to access space, but once you're in it feels like you've arrived to an old friends home. The space is dimly lit with lamps and decor items placed in the spot. It has various seating configurations from intimate 2 person tables to a cozy sofa seating area as well as a small bar. You can enjoy a game of chess too while sipping your whiskey cocktail. The drinks were awesome, but boozy, so sip slow! I ordered the Henry C. Weber- a charcuterie board that was amazing! It was large enough for 6 ppl to sample from. The only downside is took way long for it it arrive after ordered. But the items on the board made up for the wait. We went on a Friday night which featured a DJ spinning late 80's and 90's R&B tunes. This was a nice treat. Whisky Parlor is a place to go sit, sip, eat and enjoy the atmosphere.
Great service. Fantastic selection. Decent price
Great place to relax, have a couple drinks and have good conversations. All the bartenders are really great. Also, good food.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. Someone here is thinking about the menu and not doing food as usual. Very nice. The wait staff was quick and professional. Attentive but not intrusive. Our entrees were served hot (a rarity these days it seems) and were tasty.
First time in Detroit and had a fab time. The best Eggs Benedict ever. I think they called them Benny. I had mine with salmon, which was sliced perfectly. The eggs didn't get cold with salmon. Love the arugula, red onions, capers with yummy hollandaise sauce. Really good coffee and mimosa with peach champagne. The Bloody Mary looked delicious but I had already enough drink. Can't wait to go back.
Super cute little place downtown. I came in for lunch and it was not too crowded, we got seated right away. As for food I got a cup of soup it was ok a little too heavy for my liking but had good cauliflower flavor. I shared the pork rinds with a friend it is a large portion, sharing is a good idea. They come out super hot and fresh, eating them was like nothing else I have had, however if you do not like hot get it without the pepper sauce. For drink selections they have a great variety of hot teas to pick from.
This place is really good! Fun atmosphere and a quite varied menu. Went for brunch, had the spicy belly eggs Benedict and it was great! Multiple options for those with different diet requests and super accommodating staff. Definitely seems as if they use good quality ingredients and really care about the overall experience. Excellent choice for a morning downtown.
I love their sausage omelette. Their to-go service is reliable and professional; they have a smaller to-go menu. Have yet to try the drinks. It is always very busy here so plan accordingly.

The best cocktails I have had downtown so far. They make a mean moscow mule and gin and tonic. Very cool and trendy alley spot, but the enclosure causes it to be very noisy. Found it hard hear anything at times.
Best seasonal outdoor bar setup! Very unique for the Downtown Detroit scene. They also have an decent Happy Hour with great prices!
Loooved the frozen drinks. Cool atmosphere and location. Very crowded on weekend night with a mostly "bro" and bro-fan crowd.
I was told there was a line to get in but it looked more like people standing around talking so I left... Guess I will have to wait until I am on vacation and go to Margaritaville to get a good frozen cocktail.
Love the atmosphere and cocktails. One of my favorite places to come downtown.

Probably the smallest bar I've been in, but its cozy, custom design and materials are very unique. The owners hired top notch mixoligists who are offer a good conversation along with a mix of unique and standard drinks. We had a hard time locating the entrance because it's in an alley. While not the most inviting from outside, the experience of a modern speak easy is all worth it.
Outstanding bar. Perhaps the best cocktail bar I have visited. incredibly well versed and knowledgeable bartenders. Cozy environment. If you're in Detroit and like cocktails, you will kick yourself for missing this place.
Sophisticated! You are going for an experience, and a concept. The luxury and surprise of a high end speakeasy. If you look at the menu you will see its a bit pricey, but they will accomodate you in case you want other cocktails. Every drink is a piece of art and luxury. Staff is very warm and experienced. My only suggestion is to have an alternative menu with lower priced drinks for customers who are thinking of stopping by a couple times a week!
One of the more unique bars in Detroit. Had some amazing cocktails. Our bartender Julie was super friendly and knowledgeable with our drinks. I wanted some thing other than what was on their menu, and Julie asked what type of drinks we like and came back with perfect recommendations. The place is small. Like much smaller than you are expecting. So expect a wait during busy times.
Greeted immediately by the hostess, and was seated within 5 minutes. We were then greeted by Julie and she explained the scene and how they do things. If you have certain flavors and liquor that you like, they will craft a custom cocktail just for you! We can't say enough good things about Bad Luck Bar. If you like cocktails that taste like nothing you have ever tasted before and presented to you in a fashion that you have never seen before, then the Bad Luck is for you!
