“We were celebrating a birthday with a group of six and the food was absolutely delicious! My personal favorites were the Soy Butter Bigoli, Mochi Bombolocini, Scallop, Rigatoni, and the Apple Pie. Most of the food was amazing. The service was fantastic – everyone was so attentive, helpful, and friendly. The atmosphere is super relaxed. I really loved the Umami in the Kenmare cocktail.“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“I highly recommend anyone reading this to come try! I wish I could give 10 stars. Make a resy. This was honestly one of the best dining omakase experiences!! But not only was the experience great, so was the food and drinks. Karina was very kind on explaining us the drink options, and finding us the perfect drink we would love. Her and the chef were also super kind on telling us every piece we were eating and where it was from. Alex was also such a great host. Always asking how everything was and also make great small talk, getting to know us. The food was such great quality also so it was well worth the omakase price. I also ordered their special which had Uni-Toro-Wagyu-HotateCaviar. It was DIVINE!!“

“We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Fushimi Restaurant! The food was delicious, from the appetizers we ordered to our main course. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks, which perfectly complemented our meal. What truly made our visit exceptional was the incredible service provided by our waitress, Ohmie. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Her warm demeanor and professionalism truly elevated our dining experience. We strongly recommend Fushimi Restaurant, especially because of the outstanding service we received from Ohmie. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Sushi Makoto was a very fresh experience. The selection of fish was standard but the other appetizers and dishes were unique. The vibe is awesome— with a little more intimacy than some other omakase spots in the city. As well, for the price point, the value here is great. I’ve paid more for less in the city and it feels like these days it’s hard to find “good” omakase for under $200 PP. Corkage fee is very reasonable, and their sake cooling decide is almost worth a visit in itself!
My only quarrel is that it took some time to get seated, for a reservation at 7, a lot of the guests from earlier were still dining and we weren’t sat until closer to 7:20. Which isn’t the end of the world, but something to perhaps note from a business side. Lastly, I would’ve liked to be offered more at the end of the meal instead of being given the cheque. Perhaps that’s standard protocol but it was not offered to us our evening there.

“The food was rich and flavorful. Some of the best eel, it was very tender. The sweet potato roll was crunchy and had so much flavor. The broth in the Ramen and Miso soup was not salty like most places and had a taste that complemented the dish.
The crunchy rice roll was the only dish that was average. It smelled much better than it tasted. The tuna and salmon tasted great but the actual fried portion on the rice was overpowering.“

“A great menu with each dish and skewer perfectly cooked. Great char and amazing flavour from the grill. It would have been good to see a wider variety of skewers and accompaniments as they were mostly chicken and very simple.
I was a little disappointed that the meatball skewer was not served with an onsen egg.
The wonton soup was unique and had a silky texture. Loved how the menu finished with a comforting bowl of ramen and a smooth caramel purin.
Staff were attentive and welcoming. Overall a fantastic experience!“

“A very warm and friendly atmosphere. The food was quite proper and delicious. Since the weather was great, the fact that there was only a fan inside and no air conditioning didn’t bother me at all. I prefer fresh air over AC anyway. The service was very calm and they nicely provided information about extras you could get without being pushy. “came in for a late night bite and some drinks. ordered appetizers, food came quickly and was beyond superb. very minor communication issue among the server that was working and our table, which meant we didn’t get informed that the kitchen was closing (closed by the time we spoke to our server). we hadn’t ordered main food yet, so were frustrated and brought it to the manager’s attention. he immediately corrected the issue and went above and beyond to ensure our visit was great. would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for very reasonably priced, excellent food.“

“Exceptional. Sushi is our family’s favorite food, and we have been to well known sushi restaurants in LA, NYC, San Francisco, Miami, etc. No exaggeration; Butterfish stacks up against any of them. “My boyfriend secretly booked Ume for my birthday/our anniversary celebration, without even knowing I’d been dying to go.
The garden seating is beautiful despite being a bit too shiny. The whole ambiance is so zen and relaxing which makes it perfect for a special occasion.
Huge shoutout to the impeccable service: we were 30 minutes late stuck at traffic, but they still graciously held our table. They even surprised us with vanilla gelato with honey and kinako on the house, easily one of the most delicious scoops I’ve ever had.

It was such a fun and interactive experience making our own hand rolls from a sashimi platter. We loved being able to enjoy everything at our own pace, customizing each piece with a variety of dipping sauces and special salts. It really encouraged me to slow down, savor every bite, and fully appreciate each piece.

We were greedy to try more so we got one more kaishindon. Expensive but you get what you pay for: uni, ikura, scallop, toro, a5 miyazaki wagyu, caviar, and more. Every bite was pure luxury and satisfying. I only hoped I could only get this don as I was too full after finishing the sushi set, but they require at least one sushi set per person.

To be completely transparent, my bf found a small bone in his sashimi. He was given a completely new set, and they even treated us to king salmon nigiri. We really appreciated how proactive and thoughtful they were so it didn’t affect our overall experience at all.“

“NY born and raised. Currently live in the LES. Made it a mission to hit all of the omakase joints in the area, and can confidently call this my favorite.
It’s more on the intimate side as far as ambience is concerned which the service complements perfectly—they are so attentive, polite, gentle, and friendly.
Aside from impeccable service and a beautiful spot, the chefs hold it down! Best food there is I believe. The highest quality from Japan that other places will charge $500+. You can just go to no name for a better experience and food just as good if not better, and it will be a fair price. We paid $120ish for a premium 17 course…can’t really beat the value you’re getting.
Best bang for your buck omakase and check off all the boxes all around. Highly recommend!

“I found this restaurant early this year when I got off work one day, and I come to eat here EVERY week since then. No kidding, I love this place. The food is very authentic, the music here is always a happy surprise to my ear, price is very reasonable, and mostly importantly - I LOVE the owners here! I speaks a little bit of Korean so they were kinda shocked the first time I say hi to them in Korean. But even if you don't speak any of their language, they are always so freaking nice and kind!!! They have a lot of returning customers, they chat with everyone that comes in and treating others like their friends and family. They learned my name the second time I came, and now I have been coming here for about 3 month straight and they are seeing me as their little sister. I will keep visiting this place and bring my friends here too. I hope they are doing well and their business is growing. Much love,

“The food was generally salty. The first time I went, I ordered the eel rice bowl, but it was so salty that I thought I'd ruined my appetite after enjoying the other appetizers. The staff checked with me and said it was just salty that day. I got free ice cream instead. So today, I went for the hand rolls for the second time, and even the appetizers were a little salty. The hand rolls were delicious. The other dishes were fine, but they were a little salty. It wasn't just me; everyone I went with said the same thing.“

“It doesn’t get better than this! Been to countless restaurants and Uzuki stood out for its next-to-none craftsmanship, amazing food, and lovely atmosphere. Check out Bon Appetit’s video on Uzuki (“A Day Making Some of the World’s Best Soba Noodles”) to see how much skill and artistry goes into these noodles. We got the tofu, salmon ikura cold soba, duck soba, and soba ice cream and every bite of each dish was incredible. Was truly worth every cent! The ceramics they use are also full of character and actually made by the chef himself!“

“I went because I saw this place on social media and the ayce/aycd was definitely worth it! They only had two kinds of sake for the aycd part but the yuzu sake was really tasty. The fish was quite fresh and overall not too bad. The only weird part was the fact that there was NO ONE else with us in the restaurant 🤣😭Otherwise, it was great! I'll probably swing by again and hope that there's more people the next time I go lol“

“This was our second visit to Noz Market. They never fail to impress and satisfy. The cuts of fish are large and wrap all the way around the rice. The nigiri are seasoned perfectly, skillfully and with precision. The chefs here truly practice the art of sushi. The two omakase options are reasonably priced, and you can add extra pieces at the end of the experience. My Japanese fiancée emphatically approves, which should tell you what you need to know about this restaurant. Not too difficult to make a reservation a few weeks ahead of time, but definitely make one in advance. We will most certainly return.“

“Best hidden gem in the city!
I had bookmarked this place over a year ago, and I finally decided to try it out for my 30th birthday. I’m so glad I did, I wouldn’t have wanted to celebrate anywhere else. After nearly three years of living in NYC, I can confidently say this was the best dining experience I’ve had (disclaimer: I’m a foodie lol).
The owners, Ari and her husband, Chef Atsushi Yokota, and the restaurant manager Daimu, go above and beyond to create an exceptional dining experience for every customers and you can truly feel their passion. The food was absolutely top notch. Chef Yokota holds incredibly high standards for every ingredient, sourcing them with care to ensure everything tastes like it’s straight from a top-tier restaurant in Japan.
The tempura was phenomenal, we savored every single piece.

“You feel welcome once you step into this place. Service is top notch. 12 course dishes are all with very fresh ingredients and very delicious. I would say their Modern Kaiseki is very good even compare to those you find in Tokyo or Osaka. Last, if you are into Sake, you have to try their pairing and the staff their are very knowledgeable on what they pick.“

“This is a better Sarku Japan I’ve been to compared to the one at Bergen town center. Walked in on a weekday night and got food in 5 mins. Regular portion is a good size of meat.
My only complaint about this place is that the rice and veggies are a bit cold. I think the rice and veggies are prepared a long time ago.“
