“If I could give Helena more than five stars, I would. She was nothing short of legendary.

From the moment we sat down, Helena made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. What impressed me most was that she was also managing a very large party right across from us, yet you never would have known it. She handled everything with incredible grace, professionalism, and efficiency—never looking rushed, never making anyone feel forgotten, and always with a warm smile.

She has that rare ability to make every table feel like they’re her top priority. Our drinks stayed full, our food arrived perfectly, and she checked in at just the right moments without ever hovering. Watching her seamlessly juggle such a demanding workload was honestly impressive.

Essex Restaurant is fortunate to have someone like Helena. Outstanding service like hers is hard to find, and she turned a great meal into an unforgettable experience. We’ll absolutely be back, and we’ll be asking for Helena every time.“

“Visited on Wednesday night to celebrate mine and my husbands wedding that day and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by lovely friendly staff. We were seated quickly and were introduced to our server. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was fantastic. We opted for the Korean bacon to start and we both had the butchers feast. Outstanding. The steak was beautiful and the dishes that came with it were amazing too. The short rib and egg soufflé were my favourite. We started with the beef empanadas, which were fried to a flawless, shatteringly crisp golden brown. For the main event, the skirt steak was incredibly juicy, tender, and packed with authentic Argentine flavor—especially when paired with their vibrant chimichurri. “Looking for relaxing evening at a nearby place, I stopped into Empire Steak. Service was excellent and helpful with lots of recommendations. I went with the beef short ribs and I've never seen ribs this ginormous. The meat fell of the bone and through the folk - scrumptious.“

The seafood tier was great in presentation and taste

The steak, I and my colleague got was lack luster. The steak was not juicy and tasted dry or old cut of meat, I requested medium rare but it was cooked more to medium. They are most known steak but has not shine in that department.

I didn’t give feedback about the steak to staff because I was at business meeting and did not want to ruin the mood.

The steak standard needs to be revisited at this location.“

“Had the best time at Empire steak for my husband’s birthday- I really am so impressed with their porterhouse & sides offerings. The food here is just top notch. I often hit Gallaghers, and this might actually rate slightly higher for me. Excellent service. Excellent food. Will not disappoint. Get the steak frites - seasoning is on point!“

“Prime ribs lived up to our expectations and hype - tender, succulent, and lucious. I especially loved the crust with a smoky, peppery flavor throughout.

The French fries however was disappointing- too skinny for a steakhouse standard; kinda feel like they are from McDonald’s

Everything else of the prime rib experience, from the bread and butter, to the creamed corn and Caesar salad, were so innovative and delicious! I love the candied anchovies in the Caesar salad - I want to recreate that at home!“

“I went to Harry's for my birthday dinner while visiting NYC in May 2025. Everything was absolutely perfect. Best beef wellington I've ever had. The service was outstanding. “Wow what an experience! Dario guided me from start to finish, his expertise was essential to this experience for me. Every suggestion was amazing. I had the Kansas City dry aged and wow I don’t know if I’ll ever have a better steak. Cooked to perfection, and the flavor is exquisite. I got it with the broccolini, and it was the perfect balance with the crunchiness and greens. Don’t even get me started on the drinks, the boulevardier is also the best I’ve ever had, perfect if you also are into Negronis but prefer bourbon. This is the hallmark of a NYC high tier restaurant experience. Will come back again and again.“

“Crane Club pulls off the rare trick of feeling both serious and easy. Had my birthday dinner there and the room did half the work before the food arrived: warm wood, low light, a fire going, the kind of energy where you settle in and stop checking your phone.
Service was the headline. Attentive without hovering, generous with recommendations, and clearly read the table within ten minutes. Knew when to top off, when to disappear, and when to slide in a candle without making a production of it.
Kitchen shows restraint where a lot of New York spots overreach. Cocktail program is sharp; wine list has range and someone there can steer you without upselling.
No shortage of places to celebrate something in this city. Crane Club is one of the small handful that actually understands what a celebration is supposed to feel like. Already plotting the next reason to come back.“

“Really great experience here. Lauren took care of us and was honestly a huge part of why the night was so enjoyable. Super personable, easy to talk to, and just made us feel really comfortable the whole time. My daughter loved her and keeps asking when we’re going back to see her again .You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys what they do, and it really made the experience stand out. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Only small feedback would be that the substitution charges for pretty much any change were a little annoying.“

“Omg absolute perfection!! My husband made reservations and told them it was our anniversary and they went all out. I had the filet with macaroni and cheese and who would have thought that was the best part. They did a champagne toast, had a “happy anniversary” card on the table and a candle in the cheesecake which was incredible. Our waiters worked as a team and made everything unforgettable. We are from Mississippi and my husband ask me what was my favorite part about our trip and I’m like “Strip House!”“

“The shrimp cocktail is a delight as is the filet mignon and their basket of rolls. I would skip dessert though, especially the chocolate mousse and the key lime pie. Subpar to say the least. Better to share a dessert with someone if you decide you must order a dessert. If it's bad, just send it back. With the prices they charge, diners should get some type of dessert on the House.“

Ambiance (5/5): We were seated immediately on a Friday during lunch peak hours. There were very few occupied tables in the large establishment. The decorations provided a feeling of class and sophistication. Mood lighting is on the dark side but it was dead silent considering no guests in sight.
Service (5/5): Our wait staff was on the ready from beginning to end. Plates were cleared, crumbs removed, and often check ins.
Crispy Chicken Sandwich (5/5): Everything was done right!! the chicken had a lovely breading that had tons of flavor on it’s own. Not too much of it, not that oily, and a great exterior crunch to a juicy piece of chicken. The Korean BBQ glaze was delicious and paired well with the large cut house-made pickles and brioche bun. The sprinkled sesame seeds (white & black) were a nice artesian spin that also gave it an extra flavor!
Truffle Fries (4/5): The fries were truffle-forward and a light crunch to soggy (It needed more of a crisp for it to really knock it out of the park)
The restaurant would get brownie points if management provided a wet towelette bc the glaze was very sticky!“

“Food are surprisingly not bad. Ordered a poke bowl and Mrs D fried chicken. The fried chicken was juicy, and skin was crunchy and crispy though it is more of a dried spice type of chicken. There is a bench with 4 tiny tables for dine-up and 2 bathroom. Will definitely order again.“

“First time in NYC so we just picked a steak place. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like royalty! The food? Well, everything we ordered was mouth-watering! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted even better. The crab cake, broccoli and Mac and cheese were one of the best we have tasted. (I am very picky) the portions were plentiful. I didn't even have room for dessert (which is ALWAYS my favorite part of the meal) You will not be disappointed!“

“CG Wall Street is a wonderful place for many reasons: excellent food, always served promptly; terrific service with personable servers; pretty well-designed interiors. Today it wasn't too busy, so the noise level was way down. Pre-Covid it was mobbed, loud, and really festive! Great place to be.“
