“The staff here is wonderful. It has the hometown feel that I grew up with and love about the Portland area that is not as common as it used to be. I go here for lunch breaks and the service is very fast and always friendly. I always get the teriyaki chicken bowl which is fresh and good. If I decide to play video poker they bring me my food and it's always exactly as I order it.“

If you're a veteran that's ever been stationed in Japan, pair this up with Jinro and a Page 11 and it's like you're back in Oki! “The husband and I were on a ramen rampage, and the weather was our perfect excuse. Then, out of nowhere, we stumbled upon this restaurant. The service was spot-on, the food arrived in record time, and that ramen? Sheer perfection. The broth was a flavor bomb, the chashu was tender and divine, and those noodles? Freshly made and sublime. We left feeling like we just discovered ramen nirvana.“

“Conveyor belt-sushi is the best! I love watching the colorful food wander by at pace, picking and choosing an item or two every now and then. Super mellow and fun. Can be busy at lunch but if you are alone it's usually easy to find a spot at at the 'bar'.“

“We love this place! We eat here regularly, and truly enjoy the food, cocktails, service, and ambiance. The black cod miso yaki is our favorite dish - it's delicious and I highly recommend it. The veggie and shrimp tempura is the best I've ever had, with an interesting mix of eggplant, mushrooms, squash, lotus root, and onions - all lightly battered and served with a delightful dipping sauce (pour the dipping sauce on the black cod, it's so good). The cocktails, especially the Japanese 75 and the shiso gin drink (I can't think of the name), are well-balanced and mixed properly, and are very yummy. I tell everyone I know to try this place! Some of the food can seem adventurous if you're not familiar with Japanese fare, but it's all delicious and beautifully presented. Finally, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owner is a very sweet and funny lady. All around, Sushi Kuni is a great dining experience and I highly recommend checking it out.“

The young gentleman working the front was just amazing. He was managing a VERY fast flow of customers and kept very pleasant and professional demeanor.

Like everyone has said, portions for the price are pre-pandemic quantities and the quality of the chicken was excellent. It was cooked with prefect char.

Salad was fresh and plentiful (iceberg--but at least fresh--unlike my last teriyaki experience.)

“I have been going here eating in person and doing take out for at least 15 years. In all those years I have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the service to match. The prices have barely changed in all this time with portions being consistent and great value. Two can easily eat here for $30 or less leaving full and happy. Highly recommended to anyone.“

Our server went out of the way with us, including looking into different types of tequila they have so my mom could have the perfect margarita. The food came out very quickly, our water was always full, and the ambiance was great. We had delicious chicken gyoza, shrimp gyoza, ebi tem, and chicken karaage don. “We went for the first time last week, when our normal teriyaki restaurant was shut for a couple weeks. Their food was excellent. Ordered the chicken and beef teriyaki and pork fried rice. It was all good, but there was a seasoning in the chicken teriyaki that I found odd. Dont know what it was, but it just didnt taste right. The restaurant itself is ok, just a normal strip mall restaurant. Nothing special but nothing bad either. Service was ok, we ordered ours to go so I cant speak to the in restaurant service.“

“I’ll admit that when I walked in I was not exactly encouraged by its style. But what Bentoz may lack it decoration it makes up for in the quality of its food. My 3 other family members had the chicken teriyaki and I had the bibimbap myself and it was really good. So good that on the first bite I literally said “Wow, this is really good” in the middle of the restaurant. Definitely recommend for anyone who happens to be staying/visiting in the area“

“Tobiko Bowl is a hidden gem! I tried both the Chicken Spicy Trick and the Salmon Spicy Trick, and they blew me away. The chicken was tender, juicy, and had the perfect level of heat — just enough to make it exciting without overpowering the flavor. The sauce had a delicious kick and paired beautifully with the rice and veggies.

The Salmon Spicy Trick was equally amazing — super fresh salmon with a spicy glaze that made every bite melt in your mouth. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The bowls are well-balanced, satisfying, and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and quick, and the whole vibe of the food cart is chill and welcoming.
