If I had been blindfolded and didn't know that I entered the establishment via the parking lot of Belle View Shopping Center I would have thought I was in an upscaled restaurant in downtown DC. “I drove by and saw a line so I looked it up and saw a 4.9 rating. The truth is this is a 5.0 and it didn’t disappoint. I had a jerk plate and a lamb pita. It was sooooooooooooooo good. I will definitely be back. I didn’t take a picture of the food because i ate it right away lol. The portion for the platter was so big my husband and I each ate some and then we shared the pita lamb. I ordered on line and it was so fast. Walked in and it was very clean. The team was friendly and I got my food right away.“

However since I am new to the chicken on the bone crew and have entered the group chat let me let y'all know about this Alexandria City staple! First of all 530-230 Monday-Friday DASSIT. Don't try to go on Saturday or Sunday, you've been warned. Now...you must get a chicken breast sandwich, whatever way they suggest it to you, get it! (Hot sauce white bread etc) Now my hometown hitter has some new stuff on the menu that I have not tried personally but my friends/family have let us know on social media that the new dishes are a hit. We're talking about shrimp/grits to chicken/waffles. Check em out you won't be disappointed!

PS if you are ever driving around a neighborhood and a food spot has all the delivery folks...FedEx, UPS, City workers, construction workers etc that is a spot you want to try. Most of the lil small mom/pop spots are where it's at as far as good food. Just look for the blue collar workers who pull up to grab breakfast/lunch!

Wait was less than 5 minutes and this is a grab and go spot so no table! Check out the menu online. I am proud of them for branching outside of their comfort zone!

“Updated review: I've been here a few dozen times over the last decade, they've officially lost their essence. They're now pretty darn expensive. It's too bad. They used to be known for great custard and baked goods at reasonable prices, but it looks like they're now going with maximum extraction. So it goes.

Old review: Fair prices and excellent frozen custard concoctions; this place sits in a part of the DC area that you would swear was a world away - i.e. in a wholesome town in middle America. It's an institution worth the trip and likely line... Out the door.
