“Ok, so I generally only leave reviews if I’m absolutely wowed by an experience and that’s absolutely what I got here at Gol Tong Chicken! This delightful shop is a labor of love from the proprietor/chef Gol Tong, who is also of note for being the director of several Korean films, the posters of which decorate the space in the restaurant. There is a whole sound booth in here and many other wonderful quirks - it’s really something. The reason why you’ll be back though is his food! It’s out of this world good - incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned/sauced Korean fried chicken, the best I’ve had in LA and I’ve tried all of them! Go for The Director’s Cut option on the menu and bring at least two friends to split it with, because this is an exceptionally generous portion! It comes with two sublime sauces for dipping and the whole platter is layered with fresh fruit and veggies. It’s a work of art befitting its name! Highly, highly recommended and I’m super excited to come back here again!“
“Came here before watching a movie at cgv cinema and it was totally worth it. Got sat right away and was met with impeccable service. The meat was cooked for us and the side dishes were great. Only downside was the bartender wasn’t available so couldn’t order cocktails. Would recommend and definitely will come again!Parking: Several levels of parking and it’s free with validation.“
“My favorite Korean spot in Los Angeles. Did some research online for good kimchi and discovered this place. Their kimchi is fantastic, but then I also discovered this entire meal. This is perfect comfort food. Sunday mornings. Rainy afternoons or pretty much anytime you need something soupy in your life.“
“One of the most memorable dinner of my life! This is why you save up for a great meal. Elevated Korean food dinning, you don't have to fly to Korea for. Every dish was presented beautifully, artistically and tasted as good as it looked. Even the service was top notch. I hope to come back soon, as I'll dream about this experience.“
“It was great to eat with family!!I chose All U Can, and the meat quality was better than I expected. In particular, the brisket and marinated ribs were really good. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed my meal to the fullest!!The valet parking fee was $10, which was too expensive, so I used street parking nearby.“
“When: Valentines day at 6PM There was moderate amount of people, but a lot of empty tables although reservations online were booked up weeks prior. Food was great, not gonna lie! However not the best bang for the buck as there are $40-50 for 8oz. of meat. You have to view this in the perspective that its a restaurant with more than just korean barbeque. They have many fantastic dishes like the fried rice, dwenjang jjigae, and the gukbap. If you treat this like a Meat Only only experience you will be disappointed as the potions are rather minimal in that sector. The meat quality however, is really good which is on account of the hefty price tag. Treat this experience like a korean restaurant, with meat accompanying your dishes. Thats my take. We had beer and soju and we had a great time. Fantastic staff as well (super friendly, all smiles, and attentive)“
“If you want a quick and filling bite to eat, this is a great affordable option. The kbbq flavours of the meat combined with the simple steamed rice is so pleasant and satisfying. I've tried a few of their dishes and they are so good! Limited parking spaces in the lot though.“
“Wow! The best marinated pork ribs! Come on down to Jin Ju. It isn't an all you can eat spot, but you can't beat the quality. My friend and I decided to try the prime beef and the marinated pork ribs (which is their speciality). Both meats were very delicious. They pretty much cook your food for you. The beef was cut into nice cubes. They were cooked at a perfect medium rare. The prok ribs were also cut into pieces, as well. There was a good selection of 10 types of banchan: fishcake (eomuk bokkeum), sesame broccoli, kimchi, potato salad, cucumber kimchi (sigeumchi-namul), stir-fried glass noodles (japchae), korean spinach, pickled onions, bean sprouts (kongnamul), pancake (yachaejeon), and radish kimchi (kkakdugi) . And honestly, this spot has one of the better quality banchan sides. The japchae had so much flavor, and the potato salad was also good. I appreciated that they offered the pickled onions, which goes really well with the marinated pork. My friend was also excited that they had korean spinach, which most places don't have at all. We also ordered the red pepper paste soup. It was so good! Rick and full of flavor. There's enough seating for 2-6 people to each table. It's not too big of a spot, so if you're trying to get away from the long lined spots - this is the spot to be. Service is quick and friendly. There is free parking in the lot if you're lucky. If not, you can find free street parking.“
“Of all the chicken feet in LA, this is truly the most annoyingly delicious ㅠㅠYou can choose the spiciness, and American chicken feet are disgusting and too big, but the chicken feet here are just the same size as those sold in Korea, and since they are charcoal-grilled chicken feet, they are chewy and crispy, so they are really delicious. The owner is also very kind.Every single side dish is insanely delicious ㅠㅠIt’s a restaurant so good it should be on TV ㅠㅠㅠㅜ“
“A favorite of mine. Beautiful, thoughtfully crafted and big wide open space with indoor and outdoor dining.Great staff. I love the groceries they carry along with the natural wine corner. There's an awesome book aisle as well. But the food...consistent and delicious.Pizza, burgers, short rib plates, wings, salad, breakfast burritos...SO TASTY!They have coffee, ice cream, beer, wine, etc.“
“My wife is Korean, and we have dined in all the top Korean places in Los Angeles and Seoul for over 20 years. AB Steak delivers high end versions of traditional Korean classics. The quality of the meat is superior to that of most Korean restaurants, from the melt in your mouth A5 like kkotsal to the marinated short ribs. The egg “soufflé” gyeranjjim has a light cheese sauce and more flavor than typical. Moving perfectly cooked medium rare meat from the grill to a cast iron warmer keeps the meat warm while preventing over cooking is a great idea. Service is capable and friendly.“
“A little gem! They have Korean and Japanese styled rice bowls here. Many great options with reasonable prices and serving sizes especially for the area. We got the tuna tataki bowl and chicken karaage bowl. The person handling orders was really great and said the tuna tataki was their favorite and even gave helpful directions on how to best enjoy the rice bowl with the sauce! Everything tasted fresh and delicious! Highly recommend.“
“The staff is friendly and the galbitang is really delicious! The soup is very refreshing. I had Ugeoji Galbitang and was impressed by the deep flavor of the broth. I was able to come in with my dog if I put it in a bag, and I was very grateful that they showed me to a larger table because I brought my dog.Parking: Valet parking: $2 for lunch, $4 for dinner“
“I am a Korean living in Philadelphia. On my first day in LA, I visited for a quick dinner. I ordered Spicy pork, Bulgogi, and Korean fried chicken. I especially recommend the spicy pork! It tasted like eating in Korea. I hope to open a branch in Philly too?“
“jasmine is a seasoned bobarista for sure, you can tell she knows how to keep flavors balanced in harmony with the exact sweetness/ice levels you ask for! ! ! the owners really care about their customers, they even made sure to consider my opinions since they had time to ask about my meal :D overall, Honey Krush is super chill and clean but still very cute--very K-cafe vibes, I'll be doing work here from time to time :3“
“This spot only serves duck. And salad. So if you're looking for other types of meat, this is not your spot. Having said that, and having no idea what the menu looked like, it's not exactly the type of duck that I was expecting. I've only had duck prepared the Chinese way, which is roasted or barbecued. Instead, they give you a lot of thin duck slices that you fry at your table. Along with that, they give you some veggie side dishes to complement the duck, including a nice large salad. As many of you foodies know, duck is pretty fatty. So once all the duck has been fried, it leaves a pool of rendered duck fat that they mix in with the last, and best, item of the night: the rice fried in duck fat. Really, really rich and tasty. Loved it.As for the duck itself, it's a mild flavor and a bit chewy. And they give you tons of it. You will get your money's worth. It's best eaten with the veggie sides and the salad. My only wish is that they had a sauce (maybe a sesame) along with some salt to give the meat some flavor. Other than that, it's a solid spot and something you should try if you're into duck.“
“This is probably the most popular place to get your lunch at from students and faculty at El Camino College. Every meeting I'm at around lunch time I see someone eating from Mr. H. I really love their spamasubi and their miso soup. It reminds me of my high school days when people would sell spamasubi from their backpacks. The place has a few tables and chairs to sit on if you are looking to dine in or wait for your food. Cool thing about their service too is they have a buzzer for when your food is ready. Sometimes it takes a little long to get the food to come out but it's always hot and ready to eat when they do.“
“I found this Korean BBQ place when last Wednesday. It was rain so not too many people. We chose the $57.00/ per person all you can eat. Meat was high quality, service was great, they helped us all the time. Especially, the Tofu Soup was so delicious even better most Tofu restaurants. Lol.If you will be LA Downtown, give it a try.“
“On the edge of Beverly Hills, this is a delicious find. A storefront with four chairs inside and some tables outside, they do a bunch of take-out.The young woman at the counter was pleasant and helpful.I chose the bulgogi tacos which were delicious. The beef was seasoned and fresh, melt in your mouth paired with a spicy dip and lime wedges. I have to be careful with hot peppers (allergies), but my wife said it was the kind of dip that you didn't get the heat at first, but even when, not too hot.My wife had the salmon bowl. A perfectly grilled piece of salmon paired with rice, avocado, along with pickled onions and cucumber. There was an accompanying small dish of a sweet liquid. Maybe a coconut milk base, it tamed any heat. A winner.“
“I went to HanEuem to share a special bonding moment with my niece. We both love authentic Korean cuisine and HanEuem satisfies both our picky palates! The food is fresh and bursting with flavor! If it weren't for all the traffic and parking, I'd dine at HanEuem more frequently. Definitely it MUST TRY!“
“I’ve eaten here a few times, both dine in and delivery. The kebabs are always amazing. The spice mix is truly incredible. If you dine in, you make an order on a mobile site (via a QR code on the table) that lets your whole party add to the order and see what everyone else has ordered — it’s very convenient for a full table where you plan to eat family style!“
“Gok jee is the best!!! I have the best experience whenever I cater from here. My guests LOVE the food, a lot of their first time trying Korean food and they get HOOKED. The galbi jjim is always a huge crowd pleaser, but the kimbap and japchae are spectacular as well. Best of all is the owner!! I love supporting OG ktown businesses that have been around since the pre-gentrification times. This place has always been consistent, friendly, and delicious. Excellent overall, I will have them cater my wedding one day. 10/10 recommend!!“
“Quaint and cozy unassuming authentic Korean restaurant. The epitome of homestyle Korean hospitality. Excellent selection of traditional Korean cuisine. We loved the Tteokbokki, bibimbap and beef bulgogi. The variety of delicious banchan really rounded out our meal. So glad we came here.“
“The reviews are not wrong. For a nice break from the Walk of Fame this place is perfect! Had a poke bowl and a green jasmine iced tea w/ mango and they were delicious and hit the spot! The host at the counter was nice too and the music is relaxing.“
“This is one of the first places I took my fiancé that made his eyes widen at the first bite. He had never had goat soup before and it being my favorite, I had to put him on. Looks like it's been too long since I've been, seeing recent pictures with the interior completely remodeled threw me off for a second!! The food and service here is phenomenal. Always, ALWAYS save room for fried rice after the goat strew. They'll take out most of the soup and make the dankest fried rice you've ever had. I'm drooling thinking about it. I'm definitely overdue for a visit!!“
“The portions are generous and the hearts are plentiful! This restaurant has everything! The owner was really friendly, so I felt good the whole time I was eating it. The chicken kalguksu soup was rich and not too salty, which I liked. My friend had seafood kalguksu, and there was a lot of seafood, and the soup was clear and rich!! The red bean kalguksu is really delicious, so I definitely recommend it.“
“Without even thinking about chicken and beer, I stopped by a pub near my house. The clean taste was better than the chicken I used to eat on the go. I want to give it 99 pointsThe atmosphere of the spacious restaurant was average, but customer service was 100 points.Next time, I want to go eat something other than chicken.I ate well. Thank you~~“
“Found this place by accident! We went to another place for Korean bbq but the menu didn't look great so we did a quick google search and found this hidden gem! The service was great and everything came out do quickly! I got the soup & my partner got the galbi that came with a small soybean soup. Everything was super flavorful and I think we both agreed that we must visit this place again of we're craving a comforting meal.“
“Heard so much hype about Soban so I wanted to try it out. The inside was a lot smaller than expected so try to come when it's not busy or make a reservation before. The dishes were really flavorful and I totally understand why there's so much talk about Soban. I demolished the braised black code which was my favorite, and I'm not usually a big fan of fish. The flavor of the fish was to die for and even the veggies were cooked perfectly. The braised pork ribs were also good and the stew was probably my least favorite. The price is pretty hefty and I can't say it's worth the crazy price tag, all three dishes came out to be around $160 and the four of us shared the three dishes. I think less is more here because the banchan is also really good and fills you up. Service was a bit slow but maybe it's because I went during a slow time and there was only two staff in the front. Try it out if you love traditional Korean dishes and authentic flavors!“
“This is a place I always go to when I go to LA.It's a loach stew restaurant, and the cheonggukjang is really delicious~Grilled mackerel, stir-fried pork, and stews are all delicious~!!I always order the loach stew and cheonggukjang every time I go.“
“Food was great! The service was excellent! They take reservations on weekends which is rare in Ktown I think. We were a pretty big party, but they were so nice from the beginning. I’m so glad that I found this place! Thank you soooo much!! See you again!“
“all pretty good! clams specifically was a large amount and our group really enjoyed that theres a few of these korean seafood bbq this ones definitely more relaxed vibe younger folks too alot more drinking which is chill the waiter did alot of the cooking especially when you're with a group of girls who dont know when its ready or not seafood can be tricky we actually finished everything got the 2nd biggest combo will probably come again!“
“Best restaurant ever✔️thickest bossam of all time✔️package your food to go for you✔️cheapest soju✔️big boy soup portions✔️open late✔️easy free parking in downstairs garage✔️plenty of seating✔️banchan comes out rapido✔️banchan includes a full pork dish✔️read your mind and bring napkins before you ask“
“Great bar, one of the best on the West side in terms of their cocktail menu and available spirits. Really wish it stayed open later than 11pm on a Fri/Sat though. I've also heard that management/the owner can be weird/fussy to patrons about certain things, like where you sit - but haven't experienced it myself yet. Just be aware, I guess.“
“Absolutely delicious! I and my husband randomly found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We were welcomed by a gentleman and instantly made us feel like home. The soup was soooo good and we kept telling ourselves to come back to try other items here while eating.“
“We got to meet Juan! He is amazing! Not only did he make us feel so welcome. He broke the menu down for us and showed great hospitality! One top of that the tacos, pastor and asada (what we've tried so far) are truly out of this world! Salsas made in house. & they cater! We will be back.“
“Located in this multilevel outdoor mall, this is not your average frozen dessert shop.A very highly elevated soft serve creation worth the long lines.A delightful treat with fun flavors and a creative twist is what the lines are all about here at this Little Tokyo location. The star of the show is the soft-serve ice cream, which is a great thing. The straightforward menu is not overwhelming, but the aroma of the freshly made accompaniment is what draws the crowds, or maybe it's just the Instagramable charm that patrons standing outside with their mobile phones.Nonetheless, SomiSomi serves excellent soft-serve with a texture that rivals a touch of gelato creaminess, and a perfect balance of over-run.“
“This is the best Korean Fried Chicken that I have tasted in the area. Super Crunchy with lots of flavor. I tried the Garlic Soy Half Chicken and it was really good.We also tried the Sweet Potato Fries which was a very large portion and were surprised how big it was since they didn't have different portion sizes. The restaurant has a night club kind of feel. Very Trendy. Really well done.Service is excellent and servers are very nice.“
“The service was very fast, as soon as we entered kimchi and other side dishes were offered immediately! Servers were kind and attentive as well as the owner of this location. Meat was well portioned, side dishes were immaculate and the atmosphere felt laid back and cool. Would definitely recommend.“
“For the ultimate Korean-Chinese dining experience in South Bay, look no further. Dive into authentic Jja Jang Myeon and Jjam Ppong at this must-visit establishment. Whether you're new to Korean cuisine or a seasoned foodie, it's the perfect starting point. Don't miss out on trying the Gan Jja Jang--it's a rare find with its smoky wok flavor, generous portions of diced onions and squash, and a less oily consistency compared to traditional Jja Jang Myeon. Highly recommended!“
“This is an institution in ktown. It's hard to find very authentic Korean food as most are following trendy foods that cater to too sweet or too salty. Another way to know it's authentic is all the Korean grandmas and grandpas. But yes food is good and service is also impeccable!“
“The radish was fresh, yet the rice cakes were somehow bland, and the fried chickens lacked some taste. Although all that food was good, that made me like it. Despite the slow service, I didn't know what took that long to wait for that food. Whatever, that might be a weak point. The restaurant was nice to visit.“
“Bomb Chicken has been on my list of places of try for quite sometime now. There were several occasions where I would pass by this place but each time it seemed like they were closed. Finally I got to check them out today!Their selection of signature party wings consists of Crispy, Soy Garlic, Sweet Spicy. One can also get half/half; which is what I chose to do. I got the Half Crispy and Half Soy Garlic. 10 pieces was $15.99. I also got a side of their Corn Cheese for $6.Everything is made fresh to order and was told it would take 20 minutes. I went with getting it take out. For those who opt to dine in; there is an extra 15% service charge.I love Korean fried chicken and my expectations were definitely high. Between the Crispy and the Soy Garlic; it was the Soy Garlic that I liked the most. It had just the right sweetness to it and was very flavorful. The Crispy was tasty as well but nothing too different from other wings I have tried. Overall I thought the wings were good but not necessarily the "Bomb" or best that I was expecting. Last but not least was the Corn Cheese. Once again my expectations for these were high. They were basically corn topped with some melted cheese. It did make for a nice side and did pair well with the chicken wings. They were indeed cheesy but perhaps I just expected more. All in all a good Korean spot. It was not the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had but still worthy of a good review as I was happy and content with the wings from Bomb Chicken.“
“The service was amazing! We arrived 30min before closing because of when we landed in LA, but they still sat us and gave us full service. They grilled and cut everything for us. They also hand you pieces with recommendations on how to best enjoy each type of meat. They didn't rush us and even stayed open a little past closing for us. The meat was very good with big portions and price is very resonable!! Definitely will be back!!“
“Trusty spot for drinks! Not as popular so there aren't long wait times. Love coming here for their complimentary chips and salsa! They have good bites as well. Love that they have hot cheeto fries. Cheese corn was exceptional as always.Boolieya fries: $17.99Cheese corn: $15.99Soju: $15.99“
“Ordered half soy garlic and half yangnyum (kbbq?) wings and original wings too. Both my husband and I thought the original wings were the best (surprisingly?!?!), soy garlic was decent, and I believe we both didn't really like the yangnyum. The original one was crispy and the flavor had depth even though it was the original! I end up craving it sometime but LA is so far away which makes me sad... if I were to go back to LA I'd like to eat again!“
“Been familiar with Chef Celsie for some time. What is so imperative to highlight is the fact that when you have a true fusionist of tasteful delicacies; then you know you are just about to experience culinary heaven in your mouth. That is Chef Celsie, her deep knowledge of so many different kinds of culinary cultures makes her as force to be reckoned in La La Land. So in other words, you truly are in for a real treat!! #simplydelicious“
“Indulge in the comforting embrace of sullungtang, a heartwarming blend of slow-simmered broth and homemade radish/kimchee that transported me to cherished moments of childhood. Each spoonful carries the warmth of shared laughter and the cozy aroma of family gatherings at grandparents Hanok, making it a delightful journey down memory lane with every savory sip.“
“I'm obbsessed with the Jesse Bowl. I eat here at least twice a month. My favorite post-airport meal ever! So comforting and it tastes like being home in LA ♡ the cauliflower is some of the best cauli ive ever had too. Friess and agua frescas fire as well. You cant miss at Jesse Boy. Please stay open forever ?Parking: Strip mall parking but never too busy and not hard to navigate in“
“One of the few authentic Korean BBQ places on the Westside. Great quality and good service. The Kobe beef dinner for two is pricey but can actually feed 3 for $130. The servers don't give you a hard time about it either which is nice. If you need to order more meat on the side it's a good deal. Our only disappointment was that our favorite cut, the boneless short ribs are no longer marinated and were less tasty.“
