“I visited Sirene on 4 occasions during my last visit to Oakland (only 48hours!) Each time was great in its own right. From excellent specialty coffee and breakfast/lunch fare, with a mix of self service made easy and convivial. At dinner gets even better - exotic and exquisite food and wine (what a list! Even by glass), well portioned and presented, all paired up with excellent service from David - guiding you from food through wine and sequencing it all for ultimate delight. A piano which a patron played on during my last lunch made it all the more memorable. A must try neighbourhood gem!“

“Yeah this place is super fun. As far as oyster bars in the east bay I can’t think of a better spot. The decor is super cool sweet mix of modern meets east coast fishing house. The service was great and the oysters tasted great. When I come back I think I’ll try the fish and chips. The couple next to us got them and I was super jealous. The wine selection is also really good, small but it has 3 options for every type, what else do you need???

A big plate of food with rice and beans and pikles, not too spicy, just right. Table service was excellent. Spacious patio on the corner of Swan’s marketplace, a pleasant place to spend an hour after Farmer’s Market.“

“This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Bay Area. Where else can you get authentic Bun Bo Hue and Mi Quang, except maybe San Jose and SF, and they give you a ton of veggies, unlike most restaurants. Plus you always get a grissly bone with your Bun Bo Hue, and pork blood, otherwise it wouldn't be authentic! If you like vietnamese food, you gotta come here. Trust me, I grew up eating vietnamese food and have been to Vietnam, including Da Nang, where my wife was born, and it doesn't get much better than this. 5 stars“

“I bought the oyster combo with DoorDash and I absolutely loved the deep fried oysters. The fried breading was very tasty and the oysters tasted like they were cooked just right.

I chose potato salad for the side, I liked it, however, I do not know if they make it fresh.

The combo also comes with a Shasta brand soda, but cola and lemon lime are the only offered flavors.

I definitely want to order from here again.“

“We stopped in got some Fish & Chips (cat fish) and Onion rings and soda.As a very picky Aussie who loves good Fish & Chips most stores here in the US I’d score at a 6/10 but this little hole in the wall shop it’s easy an 8/10 the chips where good size the fish was average size for all the US stores I’ve tried but this little store the batter was crispy and the fish cooked perfectly the onion rings where good the Chips where very good but I feel a few extra minutes in the oil would have made them a perfect Crispy outer and hot and fluffy“

“First of all the people that were in there getting food talked to me about how great it is before I could even order. I was excited. I ordered a Super Burrito with ground beef and everything. I also ordered a taco. When I saw how many ingredients were piled up on that taco and saw how the only way he could close that taco was to envelope it in aluminum foil I was amazed. But then when I picked up my bag containing one burrito and one taco I swear it was a couple of pounds! The burrito was huge! And delicious! “Just scroll a little bit if you want to hear more about how exceptional their Chinese Food is. I have to at least say it's the best I've ever had. But for me what was most impressive is how despite having an absolutely massive menu, a menu so massive Gordon would yell at it. Shan Dong's team consistently serves insanely delicious and certainly fresh food in under 15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are.

I was lucky enough to get seated near the kitchen for my latest visit. They didn't have a line out the door this time, but they certainly had a small army of Doordash drivers out front waiting for delicious eats to deliver. Expo was a heavily used end table and rope for paper tickets, but their team managed to send piles of sinfully delicious food out in record time. The fact they're making handmade noodles on top of running a perfect service in that environment, totally mind boggling.

“This is my families favorite chinese restaurant in Oakland. The food is authentic and delicious.

We usually eat in, but the place is dated and simple. So if the ambiance isnt important, this is the local place in this part of Oakland to come.

I dont eat pork or beef, so we mostly order veggie or chicken dishes. Always, egg fu yong, veggie mu shu, broccoli beef(broccoli is bright green, yet fully cooked), chicken chow mein, and for hubby mongolian beef. This is plenty for 3 adults, 2 kids, with enough leftovers for another day. Hubby traded for sweet & and sour shrimp, this time. It looked ok, but not impressive (breaded, which I dont eat). My son likes the spicy sweet sauced chicken, or kung pao chicken.

The fortune cookies are crisp, and the waitress always gives the kids candy.

Parking on MacArthur is a pain, but there is usually parking around the corner on the street, by the church on 38th.“

“We had our 25 yr high school reunion here. It was a lovely set up and all the staff was amazing. The food was yummy. I only had the vegetarian options so to be fair I asked others about the rest of the menu and they all said it was good! The scenery is gorgeous and it's a wonderful event space ✨️ the staff went above and beyond to make our night special and it was just that. We were able to have a photo booth and have a live show playing on all the televisions in the restaurant. Our DJ was great and it really was a whole vibe.
