“This is my new favorite place. It reminds me of the bakeries in Santa Monica back in the day, I felt like I was on Montana Ave. The pastries here are the best in San Diego. The sourdough bread and cinnamon roll is definitely one to order. The line is long but it does move fast“

“Love their new location downtown. More space with the same high quality croissants and sourdough loaves. Chocolate croissant and olive pecan sourdough are my favorites.“

“This is a nice place with nice people but the baked items are so bland. We tried 6 different items and while the quality was there the flavor was lacking in a major way.

For example their double chocolate croissant barely tasted chocolately.

The strawberry ricotta Danish was overwhelmingly full of strawberries to the point that it was all you could taste.

The beef supreme tasted so bland we had to add hot sauce.“

“I love the pastries here! I have been coming here for years. On this visit I purchased two fruit tortes for a pot luck. I chose the peach torte and the Alpine Torte. Both were very delicous! They were fresh, tart, sweet, and a bit crunchy (with the crumble at the top). It's everything you want in a torte, or a pie. The customer experience when I picked them up was excellent as well. Sophia helped me on this visit. She was very helpful and answered questions that helped me make a choice. Thank you! If you want the best quality pastries in San Diego, you can't go wrong with Edelweiss. Eat up!!!“

“I love to find GF bakeries while traveling and Phatties has made it all the way to the top of my list! Their coffee was delicious, and I’m a bit of a snob for a good coffee. We got cinnamon rolls, donuts, a pop tart, avocado bagel and a frittata bagel. Every last item was delicious. We took a donut home and it was still soft and perfect two days later. Apparently they only do their cinnamon rolls on special weekends - but if you’re lucky enough to be there when they have them - get them! Most GF cinnamon rolls are too thick and dry!! This was moist and thin. Amazing!“

“A friend recommended that we tried Bonjour Patisserie before we left town, and we were not disappointed!

We tried their chocolate almond croissant, strawberry mascarpone croissant, and banana latte. The croissants were delectable! The chocolate almond one had a tasty almond filling, we really enjoyed the creaminess of the strawberry croissant, and the banana latte wasn't overly sweet.

The staff was very friendly. We brought our baby with us in his stroller, and the staff helped us settle at a table inside the cafe. We'd gladly return!“

“I can’t recommend Elite Baking enough! I reached out to Anusha with a very last-minute request for a gender reveal cake, and she responded almost immediately and was so accommodating throughout the entire process.

I sent her a few inspiration photos, and she somehow created a cake that was even more beautiful than I imagined. The attention to detail was incredible, and it honestly became one of the highlights of the celebration.

When it came time for the reveal, the inside of the cake was the most vibrant blue, making for such a fun and unforgettable surprise. My best friend and her husband absolutely loved it..they couldn’t stop admiring the cake before we even cut into it!

On top of how gorgeous it was, it tasted amazing. Everyone enjoyed celebrating with a slice after the big reveal, and there wasn’t much left by the end of the party.

“Always looking for a bakery that has great Gluten Free and/or Vegan options.
Finally made it here and it did not disappoint. Great customer service as soon as I stepped in. The girl at the counter explained to me everything and answered all my questions in regards to the products.
Bakery has a few tables inside if you want to enjoy your goodies.
They had four type of gluten free breads, including a pretzel roll which I had never seen. They had a wide selection of Dairy free/Gluten free cupcakes. Amazing including a Lavender one! Looking forward to trying that one.
I got all the types of bread to take home loaf, sandwich roll, sub and pretzel.
I also purchased a few cupcakes to go.
Tried the pretzel bread in the car. Wow! You would not know it was gluten free!
They also do cakes to order.

“I tried the Coconut Cake...best I've ever had. The Mango Cheesecake was delicious! To drink, I had a Double Cortadito, so good! What brought me here were the Guava and Guava Cheese Pastelitos. I have only ever had these from Portos. Sadly, they were too rich! Not the Guava or Cheese, they were way too buttery! The amount of butter used over powered the Guava. Hopefully it's just the batch I had. I will be back to try their other cakes and sandwiches.“

“My family and I were visiting San Diego for my daughters 21st birthday. I thought of everything but the cake. I called Kona Kakes on Friday hoping for a cake by Sunday, I was told they are closed on Sunday, so they could have it ready on Saturday. We were enjoying the zoo Saturday and I completely forgot about the cake. It was after store hours but I tried to reach them by phone anyways, the owner answered and said she would wait for us to arrive. This in itself was truly amazing, but the cake! The cake was beautiful, delicious, moist, decadent, and extremely flavorful! We had the Caramel Macadamia Nut Cake. Everyone and most of all, my daughter loved the cake! If you live near Kona Kakes then count yourself blessed and try this place. I wish there was a Kona Kakes in Las Vegas.“

“I never had ube Japanese cheesecake before. It is light and fluffy like sponge cake. I think it would be better with cream and fruits on top. The matcha cheese tart and black sesame tastes more like a traditional cheesecake. It was more on the sweeter side but so yummy. The basque cheesecake was delicious and more creamy.“

“Amaya was so easy to work with from before placing an order to post-delivery for our baby shower. On our initial call, she listened carefully to my requests and how I envisioned our dessert table to look like. She was always available via text messages or phone calls for any questions. Her prices were also reasonable. On the day of the delivery, my friend who was handling my event set up said Amaya was very sweet and came on time to deliver the desserts. She even left us a sweet thoughtful card congratulating us on our baby shower. As for the desserts, they were to die for!! I don’t have much of a sweet tooth and my husband is all about desserts. So between the two of us, we can be picky. From the cookies to the fruit cups to the cupcakes, everything was delicious. Special shoutout to the fruit cups, they were so good (highly recommend them)!! Our guests loved the desserts and asked where we got them from. My favorite is of course the OG Salty dozen or salty minis, but the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio is a close second. The little Salty minis in a jar make for a perfect gift. “Came here for my birthday on Saturday and had such a great experience. They offer a complimentary bundtlet for your birthday, which is such a nice treat.

This has always been one of my favorite dessert spots, and it never disappoints. I got the white chocolate raspberry, which is always my go-to flavor. It was fresh, moist, and absolutely delicious.

They even put it in a little bag and gave me a spoon so I could enjoy it right away. Definitely one of my favorite birthday treats.

I found the maple bun excessively sweet and strongly cardamom-forward. The citrus cookie was decent. The croissant was by far the best, great honeycomb interior and nicely flaked and caramelized on the exterior. Will have to come back and try some more pastries!“

“Desserts and drinks all look really beautiful. I've tried a few of their pastries and drinks, and they're unique which helps them stand out. The teas were okay, syrups were a bit strong. Pastries were good buy maybe for someone else. They were just overly sweet we weren't able to enjoy the flavors. Had to wash it down every bite with water. That's really a preference, but just in case someone out there doesn't like super sweet desserts like us. Service was 10/10.“
