“The hamachi with ponzu was amazing. The lamb was SUPER fatty, like terribly fatty. The kanpachi in curry was good, a little tough but the mushroom rice was excellent. The chocolate cake was delicious but rich and the butter mochi was amazing. Overall the entrees were a miss but everything else was very nice“

“We just landed a few hours ago for our first trip to Hawaii and after a long day of travel, we walked around for a while somewhat overwhelmed by all the options nearby. After a few failed attempts at finding what we were looking for - a somewhat unassuming place where we could sit down, read a menu with authentic flavors, get a drink or two from a wide selection of local favorites - we thankfully found the genius lounge, just a short walk away!
Huge drink menu, amazing Asian inspired meals, great monthly specials, and staff that were very attentive. We'll definitely be comparing all of our future meals to this one. Highly recommend.“

“Make sure you triple check your oder. Today we ate at the Honolulu Bistro for the first time. The guy at the register claims he didn't rung us up for 2 sandwiches. At checking out he did say back our order. The recipe is not detailed either. The amount we paid was definitely for 2 sandwiches. We ended up sharing 1 sandwich and left.“

“Definitely the Hawaiian Eggs Benedict with toast, the fried ice cream. the tarot pina colada, etc... you will not be disappointed with anything you order. Also, don't get me started with the service. Plz ask for Jessica. That girl deserves a raise or a promotion.“

“Absolutely our best meal in Hawaii. The right choice to celebrate a special occasion. Our experience was so wonderful, food, wine, atmosphere all made for the best evening. Our server, Julian was absolutely top notch, extremely friendly, attentive, and was just so happy to engage ensuring the celebration was more than we expected. Kudos he deserves it. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely be back.“

“I am foodie from Japan, enjoy once or twice a month hotel buffet in Tokyo. But Orchids Sunday branch menu was the best ever. Not only does it taste good, but it also tastes good, fine scenery, number and placement of staff and their diligence noteworthy.“

“Helena’s Hawaiian Food is a must for experiencing authentic Hawaiian flavors and traditional dishes. The small-plate format is perfect for sampling a variety of specialties and getting a true taste of local cuisine. We ordered combo D.
The meats were especially memorable—succulent, deeply flavorful, and clearly prepared with time and care. Everything feels honest, comforting, and rooted in Hawaiian tradition rather than overly embellished. A wonderful place to explore authentic local food and an easy five stars!“

“Eh, Howzit! Omg we haven't even eaten the food yet and it has been an awesome experience. It ain't the cheapest meal on the island, but it is a ton of food from the looks of it and we got a little bit of everything. They have all the classics, poke, like 5 kinds, chicken in garlic and teriyaki. Peak, hero level ribs, smoked beef, argh! Just got our food and must go eat the rest of it! Catch you next time!“

“Zippy’s is basically the Hawaiian version of Denny’s, with all the comfort-food classics and local favorites. I ordered the Lau Lau and Kalua Pork combo, which was one of their Friday specials, and it was such a satisfying Hawaiian plate. My husband got the Korean Fried Chicken, and it definitely did not disappoint! Crispy, flavorful, and really tasty. Zippy’s is a great spot when you want something casual, comforting, and authentically Hawaii-style. 🌺🍽“

“My first time here after seeing them on tv. So glad the worker tied the bag of my 3 plates tightly and that they use strong plastic containers. I took a sharp turn and my bag flipped to the side. My food shifted a little in the container, but at least it didn’t spill out or leak out of the containers. Love the hamburger steak with crispy onions! Omg, the special parmesan chicken was huge!! This was ono too. Will definitely go back there again. ❤️“

“The food was so good! Ok, there's no indoor dining and the outdoor dining is really rough but during our meal there the locals seemed to love it and for good reason. This is what I imagine authentic Hawaiian BBQ for the working man is like. When you go to a BBQ place and see the orange construction either shirts, is probably going to be good and it was. The girl at the register recommend the beef short ribs and they were amazing. My wife had the teriyaki chicken and it had amazing flavor, though a bit overcooked, I still finished it if for her gladly. My only warning: one dish is plenty for two hungry people! We were getting ready to head to the airport and didn't want any to go to waste, so we have half to a mother with four teenage boys. They were 😊. Definitely will return next time we visit the island.“

“I love everything about the poke here. Poke bowls are one of my goto takeout meals. I love it here becausd they have an option for sushi rice. For me, poke bowl aint bowling without the right rice. The tuna is crazy fresh. The variety is also A+ its just so sad that in this economy eating out is a rarity for my family and i.“

“Surf N Turf Tacos is a great spot if you’re looking for tasty and affordable food in Honolulu! We tried the fried fish taco, chicken quesadillas, and garlic shrimp bowl. For two people, it was actually more than enough — every dish had a generous amount of filling and was very satisfying.
The place is cozy and usually busy, with limited indoor seating. They also have a few outdoor tables, which are perfect on a clear evening. The food is flavorful, filling, and budget-friendly.
There isn’t much parking nearby, but everything around the area is walkable, so it wasn’t really an issue. Definitely a must-try for fish tacos in Hawaii! 🌮🐟“

“Wow I drove past this place many times, shame on me for not stopping by for a bite. Today I was just looking for breakfast and maaaayyyynnnn the breakfast combo!!!
$9.59 bucks in ward is awesome, which included 2 eggs, 1 spam, 2 pocho sausage, 2 links, and 4 bacon.!!!. Most places would probably cost 15-20+ bucks for that.
Not to mention, it was only after my order was almost done I see a sign for $1 adder for fried rice, shucks. Definitely going try that next time. I forgot to ask for over easy when I grabbed my bag and was like oh no don't be scrambled haha. We'll it seems to be standard as over easy it was, so if u want scramble be sure to ask.
On top of the deal my food was out in a few minutes behind one small order and a large order, so gray job on quick time.
Inside is your normal plate lunch seating area. There is also metered street parking along the north bound lane of Cooke St.
They have a good size menu, and I definitely will be back to try some of their other food. For now I found my go to breakfast spot in ward area haha!!!“

“First time for brunch here and everything was excellent. Celebrated my bf's birthday since it just so happened to fall on the Sunday right after the brunch hours started! They were very accommodating with helping to customize the menu items as I am vegetarian and he is allergic to dairy products. Every dish was amazing! Highly recommended!“

“This place is a hidden gem, not too far from the beach, offering high quality meals for incredible prices. Delicious and authentic Hawaiian food that doesn't come with a hefty price tag like pretty much any other restaurant in the area.

“I've dined at many L&L restaurants in Hawaii but this was my first visit to the location across from Whole Foods. There are lots of tables for diners, many are hidden around the corner from the drink dispensing station.
I ordered something I get at a number of L&Ls ... BBQ Cheeseburger combo (a deluxe BBQ cheeseburger, a LARGE bag of fries, and a drink); all for $12.50.
The burger contained lettuce, a thick slice of white onion, and a slice of tomato. Yum! The fries were crispy ... None were soggy ... Yay!
What can I say? I was impressed!“

“Amazing little hole in the wall poke shop. I got the yuzu shiso ahi poke bowl and it was sooo delicious. The rice to fish ratio was also perfect.
The place isn’t super obvious to find, but the location on Google Maps is accurate. The seating is very limited, so you’ll likely want to/need to take it to go.
Highly recommend!“

“So, we went there twice. One for dinner and for late lunch. Not dropping names. First, dinner. Service was great and personable. My wife had the macadamia nut crusted fish. She said it was great and tasty. I had the huli huli chicken. It was, eh. The flavor was decent but not a whole half a chicken. There was a breast, leg and very, very small part of a thigh, which is my favorite. Breast
was also kinda dry. I think breasts are very difficult for chefs, happens a lot.
Lunch. Hot wings and cheeseburger. Wings are large and there are 6. Not fried crispy. More of a soft exterior. Personally, not the way to do wings. The flavor was good and unique. Server was young but nice. Difficult for her to look you in the eyes. Overall experience was nice“
