“Make sure you triple check your oder. Today we ate at the Honolulu Bistro for the first time. The guy at the register claims he didn't rung us up for 2 sandwiches. At checking out he did say back our order. The recipe is not detailed either. The amount we paid was definitely for 2 sandwiches. We ended up sharing 1 sandwich and left.“

Unfortunately the dining room faces the street instead of the beautiful beach and the lovely sunset, but that is the architect's mistake, not the super people working the restaurant. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Great place for a special occasion treat.“

Desserts were chocolate tent and the lime cocoanut sorbet; both delicious. Outdoor dining is a quieter vibe and my family group of six prefers it.“

“My first time here after seeing them on tv. So glad the worker tied the bag of my 3 plates tightly and that they use strong plastic containers. I took a sharp turn and my bag flipped to the side. My food shifted a little in the container, but at least it didn’t spill out or leak out of the containers. Love the hamburger steak with crispy onions! Omg, the special parmesan chicken was huge!! This was ono too. Will definitely go back there again. ❤️“

“My husband found this restaurant on Google as he wanted to try some authentic Hawaiian food. Waited maybe 5-10 minutes before we were acknowledged (the restaurant was empty). Food came out quick & was tasty. I didn’t feel good later in the night but am not sure if that was related to the food or not“

“Kau Kau is serving up delicious grinds consistently. The BBQ sauce on the ribs is some of the best I've ever tasted. Mac salad is kept separately so it doesn't get warm sitting next to the ribs and rice. Prices are fair. If you have never been, I strongly suggest you try it. The whole menu on point.“

“I like local restaurants and L&L is good with reasonable price. Chicken Cutlets is a little bit oily but Loco Moco is very good. Don’t expect super clean tables and chairs.The loco moco here is cheap, the amount is so large that you can't finish it (regular), and it's delicious. During lunch time (starting around 11:30am), there are a lot of locals working in the area, so it gets crowded, so the later hours are often empty.“

“I happened to find this place and decided to give it a try. The food had a comforting, homemade taste that really hit the spot. You can choose your type of rice, and for the side, you get to pick between seaweed or cucumber. It also comes with pickled ginger, which was a nice touch. Everything was good!“

“I just love they're fish burger, deep fried battered fish that is super tender inside with amazing onion tarter sauce & coleslaw with tender buns. It's unbelievable you must try it to believe it. They also are known for they're BBQ.“

“This is the first poke spot I’ve ever seen in a Walmart. I always have to grab my poke bowl and tai tea with boba. There food and service is always good. I definitely recommend this place. 😊❤️“

“This L&L got a facelift recently, so it looks a lot better than it used to. Overall the food is decent. They have a lot of special menu items that you can’t get at other locations. I got the Fried Garlic Chicken and it was tasty and extremely garlicky. Bring gum and/or mints for after the meal!“

“Classic Hawaii hole in the wall. This location is the birthplace of the franchise. BBQ Mixed Plate, Chicken Katsu, and BBQ Burgers are my go to. If you have not been to location in a while, feels like new owners. Portions are generous (love it when the Styrofoam container has a hard time staying closed) and reasonably priced. If you haven't yet, give it a try.“

“This restaurant is a casual lunch type place with some indoor and outdoor seating. You can get food to go as well. I have a gluten allergy and the staff was knowledgeable and helped me choose safe selections. Much of the offerings are gluten-free so it is easy to create a delicious bowl. Everything was fresh and tasty. The service was friendly.“

“If you're ever looking to grab lunch on campus, I recommend checking out L&L at Paradise Palms. The food was mostly what I expected in terms of standard plate lunch, but the mac salad was especially great. The workers were also very friendly!“

“Good neighborhood spot to get some Hawaiian classics on the fly. We tried the spam and eggs and the loco love. Both were delicious and got the spot!

The interior of this location was a little dated and rundown but the food was good. The service was confusing because there was no clear spot where to order and they were taking orders from people behind us in line.

We ate on the fast food side before realizing there was a seated dining area in the back. Service may be better on that side.“

“Penny's has been a family favorite for decades. We are addicted to the roast turkey plate (get the onions!).

When my wife was recovering in the hospital after our first born, her meal request was a Penny's roast turkey plate.

We stop in whenever we can.

No better low-key, family run grinds on the island!

Kid-friendliness: The staff is so sweet. Our last visit, they gave our kids little fun bags with crayons, coloring pages, etc.

“This is a \\\"condensed\\\" or \\\"Express\\\" version of L\\u0026L with a limited menu. Their hours are 6:30am to 1:30pm. They're located in the First Insurance Company building on the corner of Ward Ave. and S. Hotel St.“

“We got our food off of DoorDash, I’m a local and I am very picky with my Hawaiian style food. 10/10 with the laulau it’s not just pork it is real laulau with fish in it not too much kalo leaf I love the stem and they had that. Hot and ready to eat! My husband got the loco moco, now it’s his place to go next time we visit. He said it was the best loco moco he had in his life! My son is not a pork eater but loved the Kalua pork and rice. I’m picky with my chicken long rice I would say 8/10 cause it needs more ginger and green onion but it was still soooo good! We got kanak attacks after eating it. The poi just want to add in here is a bit too runny for me but still good. 👍🏻 and the last part the lomi salmon that one was a bit too salty but still 10/10 ! This is true local food and I will be back to try the other plates!!!“

“Honestly: I’m disappointed in *myself* for not finding this place sooner! Got the loco moco plate and let me just say- it’s not only packed full of food, but it’s also packed full of FLAVOR! The mac salad was absolutely on point as well. The young lady that assisted me at the counter, Taney, was an absolute delight, and shared her insight on the best “go-to” items on the menu with an added twist. :) I’m already excited for what I’ll try next!“
