“Asian Fortune' food is very good and when you order for delivery it always comes very fast. Only one time in all of the years we've been ordering food have they forgotten an eggroll. No big deal. Mistakes happen.. But the main reason I left 4 stars instead of 5 is because they do not do special requests. Ever. I normally order the pad tai. It always comes with the peanuts and sprouts on the side. One day, I wanted pad tai made with wide noodles instead of skinny noodles..and they said no. That was a few years ago. Tonight, I figured I'd try to see if they would make a special request. I ordered The pad kee mao, which is a spicy dish made with wide noodles.
I didnt ask them to change the dish..
I asked if they could give me a side of sprouts and chopped peanuts on the side(which id gladly pay for) so i can add them on to my pad kee mao myself. Nope. The girl said they have to make the dish the right way. Whatever that means. I didn't ask them to alter the dish. I asked to buy sprouts and chopped peanuts on the side.
Seems like such a simple request to make a customer happy..but apparently getting some peanuts and bean sprouts on the side is impossible to get. It's so weird...considering, we've been good customers for years i find it strange that they wouldnt do this. I mean, they will alter the spice level if you ask..they will leave out onions or mushrooms if you ask. But getting peanuts and sprouts on the side..absolutely not. Its such a small thing to say no to. And i dont get it. I wasn't asking them to alter the dish. I wanted a couple of tablespoons of peanuts and some bean sprouts on the side..which they always give on the with the regular pad tai which i was willing to pay for. Such a strange thing to say not to.“

“I was very surprised to see all the bad reviews. Especially since Vanessa’s dumplings was in this same location serving significantly worse food and got better ratings.

I tried almost everything on the menu. The pork, beef, and lamb roujiamo are all very good. Not the best I’ve had but still solid. I give them a 8 out of 10

The dumplings aren’t great, but they are passable. The soup dumplings were not bad, and I liked them better than the other dumplings, I give them a 7 out of 10. The other dumplings are a 6 out of 10.

The prices are extremely fair and the food is solid. I went to Vanessa’s twice before I decided it wasn’t worth returning. Ive been to Mr. mo twice and i will definitely be returning.“

“A calm and pleasant spot for lunch.

I came during the afternoon and the place was quiet.
The staff was very friendly and even asked how the meal was at the end.
Note: It’s self-service.

Food: The hand-pulled noodles and broth were fresh and excellent.
The fried side dish was crispy and flavorful.
Drink: The iced black tea with mango was light and very refreshing.
Tip: As you can see in the video - the portions are very generous.
I recommend ordering a small size because I couldn’t finish it.

Seating: I sat by the window facing the street. It was nice to eat and watch Broadway at the same time.
There’s also an inner bar table closer to the kitchen.
The place is clean and the surrounding area feels calm and safe.

Price: Very affordable and filling.
This was my first time trying authentic Chinese food and I was pleasantly surprised.
Highly recommend and worth saving for a real local meal.“

“Do yourself a huge favor and order the Taichung cocktail - the taro foam on top is to DIE for creamy and tasty, and the drink itself is so refreshing and pleasant. The drink tokens for the tea-infused liquors are sooo cool and fun, we all got different kinds and shared. Super yummy. Great spot so close to Grand Central, wish I had known about it sooner! “Quick, affordable and tasty dry hot pot. You walk in, grab a bowl and tongs, choose your ingredients and hand it over to the cashier to cook. Price is based on weight, but one bowl around 1.5 lb was enough for the two of us. We opted for the “tiny spicy” level and it was just the right out amount of kick — not too spicy but just enough to get you sniffling. The seasoning the chef put it was great too. Highly recommend“

“It’s a very Americanised Chinese restaurant (but that’s fine). It’s not as upscale as it looks in the pictures/they make it seem - it’s just a normal restaurant. They had a lot of takeaway orders though it seems.

I ordered the lobster shumai and it was definitely just prawn (shrimp) but they were actually genuinely very good so I won’t complain.

Lo mein was quite a large portion.

Immediately noticeable features:
- Cool, relaxed, cozy environment.
- Extensive bar--SOLD!
- Spacious bathroom.
- Surprisingly generous seating.
- Very extensive and varied menu

We came looking for 2 things: pho and sushi.
We ordered the Pho Bo, Eel, Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Crunchy Salmon sushi, and, because why not, Fried Calamari, plus 2 drinks: Whiskey Sour and Long Island.

Quick reviews:
- Our orders were taken relatively later than we'd expect, considering the restaurant not being packed.
- Pho Bo came with almost no beef in it; good portions, delicious broth, but we had to mine through the noodles to find any meat.
- Sushi was great; the only problem was the seaweed was weirdly too soggy, which made the eating experience rubbery.
- This is mostly on us for getting fried calamari at an Asian restaurant, but the calamari's breading was a bit off-putting. Despite all that, it was good!
- The drinks, no notes. Fantastic. Then again, we didn't get any more than 2.
- Good pricing, nothing much to complain about.

Overall, if all you want is to sit down and have a bowl of pho and maybe something else on the side, this place serves its purpose.“
