“I tried this food truck about 3 months ago and meant to post this review a loooooong time ago. The fact that I still think about this place says volumes.

I tried the Philly cheese steak and it was 10/10 in flavor. Huge portion and even got to try a taco. Will definitely go back when I'm back in town.

“I was sent for work here in Austin from the Waco area and found this gem. Since I'm on a restrictive diet, I googled and found Hippy Eats! I have never had a falafel before but was not disappointed. Jason was nice and easy to talk to and went above and beyond in every aspect of the experience. He even enhanced my falafel with extras (we'll call it a secret menu item for now). The smell of the food from the ride back to work was delicious and the taste was great as well. Thank you Jason for the Austin falafel experience!“

“My wife and I visited last Wednesday on our vacation from Minnesota. The brisket was great, the barbacoa was the best I've ever had anywhere. The onion rings were amazing and I don't personally care for onion rings. The jalapeno cheese chorizo was outstanding. As good as all those were the beef ribs were the best most perfect bite of food I've ever had... But what really stood out is the amazing staff from Evan greeting us as we walked in the door to everyone that we met so helpful kind and cheerful! Having worked in the service industry for most of my life it's always a joy to be treated so well!“

“Incredible, healthy food! The quality was so good and menu included items like organic pork sausage, sugar free bacon, sweet potato cassava waffles, ceremonial matcha and more. Highly recommend for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. If you’re looking for gluten-free (celiac safe), dairy-free, no seed oils, grain-free options, soy-free, refined sugar free, etc, but still want something delicious, this is it! They use avocado oil and ghee. I loved the sweet potato waffle sandwich. The beef curry tacos were amazing too.

“Surprised it took me this long to put up a review here, having come here for several years now. The coffee is wonderful, and I find that the Terrible Latte is the equivalent of drinking a hug. Uplifting. The staff are kind and wonderful to chat with, and will always make sure you feel welcome.

The atmosphere is cozy. I’m always calmer coming here, and I’m always reminded to slow down and enjoy some peace and quiet in a bustling city.

“Just ordered a whole chicken meal and the chicken came fresh, marinated in a lime marinade, tender, juicy and quite generous along with delicious charro beans, a whole grilled onion, fresh corn tortillas, rice and two salsas (green avocado and red). All of it wonderful! Would definitely order again. Also, wanted to comment on the 1-star review below as I was confused by it since this restaurant has no chicken fajitas on its menu. “Just tried Song La for the first time today. Shirley was so incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. I spent 3 months in Taiwan before moving to Austin and was craving some Taiwanese fried chicken and this hit the spot. Plus, everything is made to order and comes out super fresh (that said, don't come in a rush, make sure you've got a little time to enjoy their new spot at The Thicket and hang for a bit). “Just set up and cooking at this location. You may remember it from the backside of Sam's Town Point. Hankering for a fried chicken sandwich this popped up nearby on my search. Pleasantly surprised with a great sandwich, tots, and threw in a taco and I'm completely stuffed. I'd say it's text Mex - heavy on the Tex. Which is exactly what I was looking for! Definitely coming back to try the quesadilla and burger!“

Family runs the place and they’re all super friendly. Everything is made fresh to order so they can hook up vegans, pescatarians, meat lovers… whatever you need. The prices are legit too.

I’m always getting the egg, cheese, and nopales taco with their homemade hot sauce. So damn good. But honestly their menu is wayyyy more than breakfast tacos. They’ve got tamales, full plates, shrimp cocktails, burritos, all kinds of stuff. Everything tastes authentic.

They take both cards and cash, menu is in English and Spanish, and you can call ahead for pickup. There’s also a covered patio area with seating that’s pretty cozy if you want to eat there. Just a dope spot overall.“

“Just tried Chef Hong (food truck in Austin) and it blew me away — their Liangpi cold noodles were refreshingly tasty with perfect texture, and their Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) was a meaty, savory delight. The pork & cabbage dumplings and chow mein were also solid, all flavors balanced without feeling too heavy.

“Great local food truck smash burger!
I've now visited twice. I really enjoyed the seasoned thick cut square fries. The burger is great, with all the standards. No additional special flavoring. Just a larger smash style patty.
Second go around I learned their signature sauce is mustard based. Personally, I'm not a mustard fan so I skipped this option. I found it to have a bit of that sharp overpowering mustard flavor. I'd rather taste the meat and complimentary flavors. The veggies are decent and the bun is good. Pretty solid burger. My favorite for reference Is the Culver's style smash style butter burger. I like that little bit of near burned butter flavor in the meat this burger lacks. Still a great choice. Especially if you want to do a quick pitch and putt round at Butler. Just on the other side of Auditorium Shores off of Lamar. Note: Drinks are at the pro shop, might want to bring your own as choices are somewhat limited.“
