“A friend and I meet at Theisman's restaurant for lunch quite often. I live in Alexandria and she lives in Warrenton so it's a great middle point. We both love the food and the hostesses and waitstaff are excellent. The atmosphere is nice.. the reason I gave it 4 stars is that the music in there was so loud. We decided to sit on the porch thinking it would be quieter and it was such a beautiful day... unfortunately the music was extremely loud out there too and seemed to increase in volume as we were out there for about 2 hours. I noticed a few other people were saying that it was so loud too. We should have said something to the hostess but we had not seen each other in awhile. Wonderful place, but people do want to be able to talk and hear each other. Hopefully, this will get to the right ears ?”

“I've been coming here the past year and a half, and every single time it's consistently fantastic. Their katsu is the best in the DMV, and comparable to what I've had in Japan when I was there last year (personally recommend the fish katsu, and the chicken katsu). The service is always friendly, and the owner often comes out to check on you personally. I almost don't want this place to get too popular so that I always have an open table ready for me, but they really deserve to be a top spot in this area.”

Definitely worth the hour and half drive. Dubai Chewy cookie - I had it in Korea, from multiple shops, but Melody definitely does it better.”

“It’s a very small space, so I recommend going during non-peak dining hours if possible.

One thing I appreciated was that they offer a halal section, which was a nice bonus.

That said, the topping labels were inaccurate or unclear, making it difficult to tell what everything was. For first-time visitors, the ordering process can be confusing, and I think clearer instructions or signage would help. On a busy day, there were quite a few customers wandering around trying to figure out the process, which added to the overall chaos.

Overall we will go again because my kids enjoyed it.”

“My family and I stopped by while traveling thru town. We ordered Bulgogi and Dak Kalgooksoo. Their Banchan were flavorful with the right balance of spice and heat. Entrée portions are generous. Our server was helpful and very nice. We were pretty happy to find this restaurant.”

You can order from their machine or the counter. The menu is truly wide and interesting.

We ordered 4 drinks but only have 2 photos which are mochi milk tea and creme brûlée milk tea. The other two drinks are black boba milk tea and yam brûlée. All of those drinks were enjoyed by our friends.

One of the good spots for good drinks either milk tea, smoothie, fruit tea and they have espresso options as well.

The staff were nice and easy to talk to. Overall experience was good.”

“If you’re unfamiliar with soondae, I recommend looking it up first so you know what to expect. It has a distinct style and texture that may not be for everyone. However, if you’re already a soondae fan, this place is amazing. The food has great flavor, the menu offers plenty of variety, and I would definitely recommend it.

For first-time visitors, there are also more familiar options, including pork cutlet, udon, and other traditional Korean dishes. I suggest going with someone who already enjoys soondae so you can try a little for yourself before ordering a full dish.

The portions are very generous, and you could easily order one plate to share. The service was also excellent. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I honestly felt like I received VIP service.”

“Our Monday night dinner group has come back here multiple times. The smell is wonderful immediately when you walk in. The host and all staff there are super friendly and always fun to chat with. Our waiter had our whole table laughing every time we engaged with him. Everyone's orders were perfectly cooked, nice sized portions and came out very quickly. I personally love the Malaysian Iced Coffee, Roti Canai and Chicken Satay. Our group had noodle dishes, beef, lamb, seafood....all was wonderful. The flavors are vivid and bright, delicious and clearly comfort food. I promise you, you'll enjoy your trip here. Great food for everyone. The braised pollock came in a very generous portion, and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. The squid was exceptionally tender. The homemade tofu soup was warm, comforting, and full of rich, savory flavor. All of the side dishes were also fresh, clean-tasting, and beautifully prepared—it truly felt like enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal.

But the real star of the show is the spicy Lab No. 1 sushi, it’s my absolute favorite roll and delivers the perfect amount of heat. “My first time eating here and truly enjoyed my hot boiling spicy seafood tofu soup and the Korean seafood pancake. Such a welcoming staff when we entered the restaurant. My friends and I enjoyed it very much.”

“The reviews for this place were so good that I got the salmon poke bowl. I usually don't like poke bowels, but I trust the people's reviews. They gave me the meal in less than 10m, I wanna say closer to 5m. The service was friendly and kind. This was around 3pm, so while everything was quiet. I was impressed they got my meal out so fast, 3pm is generally a lull-in-the-day for restaurants.

I inhaled everything. The miso on the side, and every speck of rice given to me (pictured). Do you know how good food has to be to eat every grain of rice with chopsticks? The sauce was so good, I thought about having a piece of bread to swipe against the bottom to really clean out the bowl. I had a religious experience inhaling everything. The salmon melted in my mouth, the sauce was excellent. They added just enough spice to contribute to the sauce flavor.

Anyways the poke bowl had some raw onions, zucchini(?), and avocado. I wish there was more rice, but that's just particular to me, most people will find the rice/meat ratio perfect. I ate somewhat awkwardly next to the owners/workers in the food court, but I hope it was gratifying for them to see me eat everything so fast.

Take this review with a grain of salt, as I was starving at the time, but 10/10 would come again. This restaurant is an unexpected gem inside of lotte.”

“Love the beef bone soup here, it’s tasty with self added salt and pepper, and it holds gelatinous texture that’s very satisfying! The beef brisket is also tender. Perfect to paired the soup with their kimchi and radish and the sauce also brings a little spicy hint to the soup. We’ve tried their combo with hamburger steak patty, we love it a lot. It’s Korean fusion which has a sweetness hint like bulgogi taste in the meat, the onions inside also blends well. We’ve ordered their no1 seafood pancake, the portion is big and crispy. Mandu dumplings tastes good too. Comparing to normal soup that can be found in other restaurants like sondubu(soft tofu) soup , their beef bone soup is a must try! The restaurant is very crowded, hopefully they will consider opening a place in Maryland!”

This place has good Jiajang, it has pieces of the ingredients (like vegetables and small port dices) in very smooth texture, the sauce is warming, not greasy or too salty, brought back so many good memories to me.”
