“Oh my… this was quite an experience! When going there, letyourself be surprised by the Chef’s Menu (Menu dégustation in french). Surprise after surprise, it will make you live a real culinary experience! And our waiter (fluently bilingual) was excellent and vey passionate! Along with the lady who brought each plate and explained to us what they were. And finally the manager, I believe, who came over a few times to talk about the plates, the wine and how the pasta were made the same day, very early in the morning The wine suggestion was also perfect! “Had low expectation but the quality of the noodles was very good got an extra just to satisfy my cravings. I got the veggie ramen but surprisingly the broth had a heavy body which went so well with the broth.
If you like spicy definitely add the spicy chilly on the side.

“This has been on our list for a while, even before they received their Michelin star. We made a reservation well in advance for their first seating and had a table by the window. The restaurant is small, but it has a good feel, decorated with a tasteful Canadiana style.

The menu right now is four-courses and costs $130 per person. Cocktails or mocktails will add another $15+ dollars, or you can choose from their wine list.

The meal started with a complimentary bread and house-made butter. The one piece of bread (for two people) reminded me of a French onion soup - comforting and full of caramelized onions. Next I chose the egg custard with sturgeon and my wife had the wagyu beef tartare. Both dishes were clean and delicious and had a mixture of soft and firmer textures. Next, I choose the chicken stuffed morels over peas and my wife had the corn soufflé. The morels were a seasonal dish and an interesting concept, but the peas were a the star of the dish. The corn soufflé, however, was a perfect mix of corn preparations, accompanied with side stripe prawns. This was probably our favourite dish of the evening.

For the next course, we had the trout and chowder and the pithvier. The trout and chowder dish was comforting and very satisfying, but the pithvier was a little dry and the flavours were a little one-note. To finish the meal, we had the rice pudding for two. At a Michelin starred restaurant, this felt like the chef saying, “I don’t care what you think, this is a delicious dish and it’s going on the menu”…and it was delicious and rich, but not a light way to finish the meal.

Overall, we were satisfied and full, but we felt that the chef played it fairly safe with the menu. Familiar flavours, rich and comforting food, but nothing that really wowed us. As time goes by, I’ll remember it was a good meal, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to recall signature stamps on the food.

In addition to this, we have been to Michelin starred restaurants before and received exceptional service and some surprising extras. At one restaurant, we received chocolates to take home, at another, it was a lemon loaf. At others, there were fun surprises between courses, or a personalized menu to take home. The servers were kind, but we never felt at home or like we were valued guests. This was surprising for a one-star restaurant.

Overall, we did enjoy our meal, but I think the reality did not meet our expectations.“

God bless this place. What a great concept and addition to main street eats. Highly recommend this place to anyone. Chowders are lovely and comforting. Today I got the po boy sandwich. It is so gooooood, and messy lol. To my surprise I found out that there was kimchi in it! What a great twist/ combination. Sandwich also came with some pickled cabbage. They take your order at the till, then when your food is ready they call your name. This place doesn't have much chairs or tables so just be aware. It's pretty much street food style, order and eat by the windows or outside. They always have fresh seafood coming in daily. They also prep sauces and soups as well to bring home to enjoy!“

The entire experience was exceptional, and the food was perfect from start to finish.We had the red wine braised short rib of beef from Double R Ranch — it melted in my mouth and the flavor was out of this world. We started with the scallops and smoked bison tartare, both of which were outstanding.For other mains, we enjoyed the wood grilled lamb, the Hank tenderloin steak, the Wagyu beef picanha from Brant Lake Farm in Alberta, Blue Dot Beef in Prince Edward Island striploin (10 oz). They were all amazing. The Blue Dot had incredible flavor — juicy, tender, and hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. Every steak was beautifully cooked and packed with flavor.We finished the evening with trying ALL THE DESSERTS! The baked Alaska was beautiful and delicious! The ice cream trio was so creamy and rich. The creme brûlée was smooth and dreamy. The chocolate cake was moist and perfectly matched with the passionfruit sauce. The fam favorite was definitely the cheesecake… we were all wanting it! Perfect flavor not too sweet and very smooth. Blackberries were a perfect match. “I had high hopes for this restaurant. Everyone has been talking about it!! It didn't disappoint in a lot of ways. Butter beef was delicious(amazing), beef luc lac was really good as well (but not amazing), two kind of dry noodle??(forgot the exact name but this was just okay to mediocre imo)
And people were going nuts over the wings but they were just okay. I forgot but had better wings(similar style too!!) In Ontario(I wanna say somewhere in marhkam)

“We live in North Shore and are regulars at Wooden Fish and this is our first time at Pho and Roll. Very impressed with their food and atmosphere. More upscale than Wooden Fish but both are excellent. We were worried about parking but had no issues finding a spot right away on a side street (lots of parking on the side streets and parking lots as well). We will return.“

“We had a fantastic dim sum experience about a year ago at a different location, which was helped by having a large group of 20—plenty of dishes to sample. This time, it was just the three of us, so we kept it light with six dishes. Unfortunately, the Thai-style chicken feet didn’t go over well with the family—the strong vinegar flavor and unusual texture were a far cry from the traditional braised and steamed version that’s typically tender and flavorful. That said, the rest of the dishes were enjoyable and tasted freshly made, which definitely elevated the overall quality.

Prices are noticeably higher than what we’re used to in Seattle, though we haven’t tried other spots in the area yet. That said, the portion sizes here are nearly double, which helps justify the cost. Service didn’t quite match the upscale feel of the restaurant, but we didn’t encounter any issues. And even without a reservation, we were seated right away.

Note on my rating scale: Sharing this for transparency, as I recognize that a 3-star review may be misinterpreted as reflecting a mediocre experience.

Large and very filling portions, we had gotten an appetizer as well as a main dish each and the appetizer alone filled us up. We also got a classic lime margarita to share and it was perfectly balanced, one of the best margaritas I've had as of late especially considering the fair prices.

All together with a cocktail, an appetizer, and 2 mains the bill only came out to about $70.“
