“If you are looking for a true Italian experience in San Diego, look no further than Vinarius! We worked with Giuseppe (owner) to host our wedding celebration here back in March, 2023. From the beginning, he was amazing to work with. Incredibly positive and accommodating from the start, we couldn’t have asked for more. The wedding ceremony was planned to be outside and of course, it rained that day. Guiseppe and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, allowed us to have the small ceremony inside the restaurant on short notice and made an incredible meal to follow. Our guests were blown away and we couldn’t have been happier. We recommend Vinarius to everyone we know and that is thanks to Giuseppe and his awesome staff. Grazie mille!”
“I am delighted with my experience at this Italian restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was transported to Italy with a warm ambiance and friendly staff. The food was extraordinary; each dish burst with authentic flavors that joyfully made my taste buds sing. The attention to detail in every plate was evident, showcasing the chef's expertise and dedication to traditional Italian cuisine. The pasta was cooked to perfection, sauces were rich and flavorful, and the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and made the entire dining experience even more delightful. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable Italian dining experience in San Diego. In my opinion, this establishment undoubtedly deserves the title of the best Italian restaurant in town.”
“Excellent food and very good service. Everything was delicious and the portions were huge. It was expensive for breakfast, but great for a special occasion.”

“My wife and I eat at Ciccia’s regularly but this is our first review after 4 years. Sorry Francesca and Mario! (In my defense I practically never ever write a review.) We keep coming back for the food, ambiance and hospitality. **We’ve gone 3 times in the last week! The crab gnocchi is my wife’s favorite. I get something different almost every time. Every visit I ask Mario about the specials as I like to sample the beef and/or fish (Branzino!) they prepare in addition to pasta. Try the Tomahawk steak if it’s a special that day (call ahead) and you will be amazed. Too many times we fill up on appetizers like mushroom flan, breaded zucchini, calamari, antipasto, and the choices go on! But that’s what to-go containers are for. So much good food to eat at Ciccias we tend to order too many things. It is simply fun to dine there. Once you’re inside the restaurant area (patio area or indoor area) the ambiance is quaint and cozy. Ciccia’s is not big and it’s always filled, but we never feel like it’s too crowded. The energy is always fun and upbeat. Which makes people stay awhile, so let me recommend getting reservations. We’ve had to wait 10-15 minutes but nothing’s perfect! If you want a breezy quick dinner before going off to an event you may want to go to Ciccia’s on another night. Hospitality is what you would expect of a small Italian restaurant run by the owners. Terrific!! If it’s your first time, read their story on the website before you go. They are bona fide top chefs who followed their dreams to open their own place. What a gem it is tucked inside Barrio Logan. One thing regulars may notice is that staff doesn’t appear to turn over much as I’ve seen the same faces working there for years. I think that reflects well on the restaurant. I don’t take pictures of food very often but last night I did. We stopped by at around 9 just to get dessert and a cocktail. My wife had the ricotta cake with apricot and habanero sauce (wow!) and I had cassata siciliana which is traditional cake from Sicily. Pretty to look at and yes, it’s delicious. They do a good job with making an Old Fashioned, which always pairs well with dessert 😜 Buon appetito!”

“I was looking for coffee with good pastries near me in Mission Valley and Google maps led me here. I like Starbucks but wanted something different. I got a sugar free vanilla latte and a chocolate almond croissant. The coffee is delish and the croissant( from Bread and Cie) hit the spot. I had a nice chat with the lovely woman who owns the business. I can tell by her choices and her website she is offering really good quality to her customers. Give Snapshot a shot! I one I will be stopping here again.”
“Thank you for your service. The food was good and they have good prices and a great service.”
“Wow! This place is such a low key spot, partnered with Walkabout, I found this restaurant. They have great happy hour specials, steak and fries Wednesday specials. Their steak was tender, their fries were crispy, they could have used a bit of salt, but overall a great meal. The servers are first class, they know how to hustle with the few people they have. They have outdoor and indoor so it’s an inviting space!”
“Talk about talent. These creations not only blow your mind, but also your taste buds. I’ve first hand witnessed the time and effort it takes to create these pieces of art. Let me just say when you place an order from this company, you will not be disappointed. If you’re looking for a company that takes pride in its work, goes above and beyond the call of duty look no further. 10:10 from customer service to product.”
“Great service and food! I’d recommend it to anyone.”
“we used to ho to the porkyland in Logan heights for many years ❤ love carnitas...”
“We absolutely loved our dinner at Monzu in the Gaslamp! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff struck the perfect balance of being friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We started with the tartare di tonno, which was incredibly fresh and flavorful—an excellent beginning to the meal. The housemade focaccia deserves a special mention: airy, perfectly seasoned, and quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. For the main course, I enjoyed the bucatini all’amatriciana. The pasta was clearly house-made, cooked to perfection, and the sauce had that authentic depth of flavor that only true Southern Italian cooking delivers. We finished with an affogato, which was the ideal ending—simple, rich, and satisfying. Monzu offers authentic Southern Italian fare with genuine hospitality, and everything we tried reflected both freshness and craftsmanship. I would 100% return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable Italian dining experience in San Diego.”
“My friend was flying in from out of state and arrived at 12:30am, and we still have the option to enjoy such authentic Chinese bbq skewers. Everything was well seasoned. My only hope is having more skewer varieties!”
“we've been 3 times in the past few months and every time was great. we went the day after my wife's birthday, the same day our pet passed, and the staff made it a very special experience and distraction from our loss. absolutely recommend 110%. great food, great people, great experience overall.”

“Went for brunch with my wife, found parking right outside on the street. No wait when we showed up but the place was far from empty. Loved the plants everywhere and open design. Wife ordered a Greek breakfast with chicken I had the eggs and potatoes with chicken and a cold brew, I skipped the coconut foam, just not my thing. The portions were large and it was a filling meal. The chicken was done to perfection! The house hot sauce of was great and the potatoes were nice and crispy on the edges. Overall a great little spot!”

“Hands down one of the best pastries I’ve had. We visited the bakery at the end of the day so they only had a few options left. We got the orange almond cookie and cinnamon bun. Orange cookie was so fragrant and quite chewy. Cinnamon bun was extremely flaky and sugary (but not too sweet somehow). I will visit early another time to try out some other pastries.”

“Vietnamese coffee is very good. I love egg coffee at this place.
Parking: It takes 5-10 minutes to find free street parking. Otherwise paid parking garage just a walking distance to coffee shop and only $6/day.
There's a restaurant name Shank & Bone Vietnamese Restaurant on University Avenue it's a Vietnamese Pho restaurant just block away from Saigon Coffee.
Kid-friendliness: Yes kids like to take a walk around the area. Environment looks like a downtown”
“Every time I come in here, I wonder why I don't come more often. (Possibly the atmosphere, it's clean but not the coziest. No music or TV, not much to look at.) But the food, wow! I always get three different tacos, they're all loaded with such amazing flavors and textures. The fresh salsas are also spectacular. I need to start making this a weekly visit.”

“Excellence service, relaxed, lots of parking and THE BEST COFFEE IVE HAD in SD!!! Be here! Great options too! I got Orange Coffee-yum-that’s love!
This place has a calm vibe and good Middle Eastern music.
Baklava! Wow! Great not overly sweet stuff here! Grab that! Really one of the best ever!
I love this place and see why it’s so highly rated. Clairemont area, but not on the strip. Close to Convoy!”
“What an amazing experience. The food was awesome. The owner, Chef Fuji, was an awesome host and made the experience so much fun. The wait staff were polite and helpful. Worth every penny.”

“Great little mom and pop restaurant in a Point Loma strip mall. We went with high expectations and were blown away by the quality and quantity if the offerings as well as the service. This is a small shop with maybe 8 or 9 tables. There was a wait to be seated, but not too long and everyone in line was cordial. Everything on the menu looked interesting, however seeing the quantity of food being served we decided to limit ourselves to 3 appitizers and one entree each. The wonton soup by itself was enough to feed 3 people. The pig ear salad was very interesting and enjoyable, however the spice gave everyone numb tongue for 10 minutes. The green onion pancakes were extremely flavorful, albeit a bit oily for me. We also ordered the Scallop with Shrimp and Pork Dumplings, the Naoa Cabbage with Pork Dumplings and the Mushroom and Chicken Dumplings. Each consisting or 14 or 15 dumplings. We were only able to consume about half and had to take the other half to go. All the Dumplings were incredible but our favorite was the Scallop with Shrimp and Pork Dumplings. The meal was great and the experience memorable. 5 stars for the flavor, the quality, the preparation and the service. We will definitely be back.”
“Craft Bar Kamon is a speakeasy inside a Japanese bakery. It's on the smaller side with bar seating and maybe 15 tables. Three of us sat on the corner of the bar so we could talk. I'm very glad we sat at the bar as the bartender (Amadeus) was amazing. I would highly recommend sitting at the bar since the bartenders are incredibly knowledgable and fun to talk to. You won't get the same experience at a table. We had 6 different drinks among us so we could experience more of their craft cocktails. The clear winners were the Midnight Train to Shinjuku (a Japanese take on a spicy margarita) and the Lucky Goat (a goat cheese infused gin drink that had only a hint of goat cheese). For food, we had the Honey Koji Buffalo Cauliflower, Mediterranean Harumaki, Ceviche and the A5 Wagyu Surf and Turf Roll. The ceviche was the clear winner. It was excellent but definitely spicy. The harumaki was very good if you like lamb. The cauliflower was good but could have been crispier with more buffalo flavoring. The A5 surf and turf roll was good but it was a tad boring from a flavor perspective. Overall, we really enjoyed Bar Kamon and will definitely go back. It's a fun vibe with amazing bartenders and drinks.”
“@kinmesd delivered a memorable experience for us. From beginning to end I was in awe with the attention to detail, precision and heart they put into every bite. There was never a moment we weren’t taken care of by the chef’s assistants. It was beautiful to watch a group of people work together, harmoniously, and the reflection that had on the food.
@kinmesd I will be thinking about this meal for a very long time. Thank you for making our anniversary dinner such a special experience.”
“Great food and great service! Food was fresh and expertly prepared! Probably the best service I have ever experienced and the place was busy at the time we were there!!”

“I Stopped by for a Cali burrito. I was not expecting much based on location and the area. I drove home about 15 minutes and the tortilla was still soft and the burrito was still warm. There was a good crunch on the fries and the guacamole portion was surprising. The carne asada was smoky and flavorful. The asada tasted like it was marinated and it was tender for me. It might have had a little more fries than I like. I would have liked a little more asada. The burrito was under 15$ and it was worth it. The salsa was delicious I went with the mild and medium. I would go back and get the same thing.”
“I haven't been to rudfords in years, do to moving south. I was so hungry for the outstanding split pea soup on Saturday, still the best ever. So glad jordan is still working there, he is so delightful and and friendly, he is definitely a keeper. So glad exmanager jose is gone,. What a scan. K sorry about Diane's passing, I really liked her. Keep up the good work. Spinach omelette for awesome, wow.”
“I have got to say…. I am so happy we decided to do this for our pup, Cash. We have a 6 month old Rottie and I was so happy to introduce these products. First thing given was the rabbit foot. He played with it for a couple minutes to eventually devouring it! Next was the Lamb Trachea. Again, being foreign, he played with it for a couple of minutes and then devoured it. My boy devoured the rabbit head and Cow ear I loved being able to see the teeth. To know that my boy is gaining these nutrients as a chew is awesome. Those are the only four items we have tried. He has eaten three rabbit feet, one cow ear, one rabbit head and two tracheas. So happy we made this decision. I now live in North Dakota but I am from SD and love that we’re able to support a small company. Would love to continue supporting the best ways possible. Keep up the great work!!”
“We had a neighborhood party last night with about 40 people. In the beginning Ben came expecting about 30 but he found a way to service our party first class with everyone leaving very happy. Ben is thorough, thoughtful and a lot of fun. As you can tell we were extremely pleased with his services and will have him back as soon as possible! His food is “over the top” creative and delicious. You won’t be disappointed if you use him for your next party!

“We’re frequent patrons of Postino Wine Cafe on South Broadway, San Antonio, TX. Love the ambiance, food, wine & service. Last night we experienced them at their finest! Ray & Mark went above and beyond in making our daughter-in-laws 50th birthday celebration special. The 50th balloons, cake accessories, & gift card were unexpected & appreciated. This is a place to go for a special celebration! Chef Joseph prepared a variety of delicious boards & more. They truly give top notch attention to detail & service. Highly recommend!”

“I rarely come to this area due to no parking along 30th. You’ll have to snatch one along the side streets in the residential area.
It was well worth it and be sure to call in to make a reservation. They don’t have on line version.
We each ordered our own plate but had a chance to sample all. Four of our six items were their signature items, circled on the menu.
We ordered a mixture of pasta and meat dish. 3 of us had placed our order while the 4th came late but surprisingly, all of our dishes made it out at the same time! Kuddos to the chef!
-Arugula salad: refreshing
-Beef cheek pappardelle: my fav type of pasta. It’s handmade! The beef cheek was the winner in its tenderness.
-Picanha steak (the entree): this was a preset entree with your steak smothered in a mushroom topping. Although you could sub out your sides.
-From the grill choose 3: I chose picanha steak, peperonata which is a stewed vegetable dish, and bell pepper chimichurri sauce. I expected more from the sauce, it was mainly bell peppers.
-Pistachio Campenelle: very nutty and cheesy, the pancetta was really thin and almost dissolved
-Eggplant croque (4 pieces): I was getting full from eating 2!
The picanha steak is on the menu twice. Both same price. Once as a pre set entree where your steak is topped with a mushroom sauce.
If you choose picanha from the grill list then it’s just a plain steak and you pick your sauce and side.
I have to say, I enjoyed both. I ordered my plain steak medium yet it was more tender than my friend who ordered medium rare from the entree version. Both of our cuts were extremely chewy. Although more fatty, the skirt steak might have been a better choice.”
“Hey I just want to say the Luna grill down in Carmel valley was amazing and I want to give a special thank you to Athena for helping me out with my order she was polite and made sure i got everything I needed I recommend anyone that loves Mediterranean food check out this location 2 thumbs up will be back”
“Everything was incredible! Kika, our server, was so kind and helpful. I am celiac and she guided me through what would work for me! The food was delicious. We loved the vibe and greatly enjoyed our visit! 100% worth a visit!”
“This little place is way beyond any description or expectation. I am not vegan and this is by far the best food I’ve ever had at any Vietnamese restaurant. They make you feel as though your long lost family was making a welcome home meal just for you. Everything about it is remarkable.. so here I am doing my best to remark on it. You are missing something wonderful if you do not go and have a meal there. Did I mention they are exceptionally health conscious…”

“The food was just okay, but the cocktails were absolutely fantastic. Every single one we tried was a true work of art! I was especially impressed by the non-alcoholic option — I honestly didn’t expect it to be so flavorful and unique. Highly recommended for anyone who doesn’t drink alcohol — you won’t feel like you’re missing out at all!”
“Normally I like to keep gems like this to myself, but walking through literal back alleys in San Diego to be introduced to this incredible Hi-Fi listening speakeasy was just too awesome and I hope everyone I love gets a chance to get on the reservation list, stat. I'm a speakeasy veteran with a coast to coast cocktail sipping resume that spans from SF to Boston and New Orleans to Chicago, and this spot has definitely landed in my top ten. The atmosphere, the staff, the tunes, and the drinks are all so special and perfectly curated for maximum delight. Every aspect of CMB is comfortable and balanced, and so very easy to enjoy. They found a great groove and kept it going.”

“Fabulous food served in a no-frills, casual atmosphere. The service was excellent and Chef Luciano Cibelli comes out of the kitchen and checks with every table to see how diners are doing. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. We enjoyed the seafood fettucini, chicken parmesian, and the catch of the day, which was sea bass on a bed of roasted vegetables, with beet purée and a delicious beurre blanc. Delish!”
“I’m not much of a reviewer unless an establishment is amazing or the opposite.
I must take the time to let everyone know that this was the BEST fish and sushi that I’ve ever had. It was incredibly fresh and each dish was better than the next. It is most certainly worth the price (although less expensive than some other spots). The drinks were also suberb and service was excellent and genuine.
Don’t be fooled by the exterior appearance. Once you go inside, it’s chic and modern.
Absolutely will give Hane 10+ stars.”
“Brunch done right with generous portion. No line on a Thursday morning. We came here through Yelp recommendations. The staff were very welcoming and came by to check on our table often. Donny was our server. Restaurant was clean and roomy. We ordered Carnitas Breakfast Skillet and Chicken Waffles. Both so good. Apple pie was good too. Not too sweet. Would come back in the future!”
“The spicy broth (hot) is so good mixes so well with beef and lamb and all other ingredients. Skewers are too good and great price! Perfect place to come with friends.”
Fine Dining
“Still thinking about our dinner at Addison—yep, the Michelin 3-star tucked inside Fairmont San Diego. Total bucket list moment! The uni chawanmushi and caviar rice? Unreal. Vibe was cozy-luxe, service was flawless. Took 4 hours and I’d do it all over again. ✨🍽️💛”
“Had a wonderful experience here from the moment we walked up to the time we left service was above 5 star, all the employees where nice, Matt our server did a excellent job, for being our 1st time there answering all of our questions, as for the food...OH BOY... had to try a few things, it was all delicious, well seasoned and cooked to perfection, can't wait to go back,”
“Classy and elegant atmosphere perfect for a fine dining experience (without the snobbery)! The table side caviar service is pure ecstasy and a must if you’ve never had it before. The whiskey flights did not disappoint either. Our waiter treated us like family and the entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable. If you’re looking for a memorable meal, the Huntress is a slam dunk! Highly recommend!”
“Easily one of the best sushi experiences I’ve had in Southern California—period. From the moment you sit down, Matoi delivers a curated, thoughtful omakase that’s all killer, no filler. Nothing farm-raised, nothing phoned in—just wildly fresh, high-quality cuts that let the fish do the talking.
And the value? Ridiculous (in the best way). Easily the best bang-for-your-buck omakase in SoCal. You’re getting an elite sushi bar experience without the ego or the four-figure bill.
It was so good I forgot to take photos… and I never forget. That’s how locked in I was. Just me, the fish, and pure happiness.”
“The Prestige - Magic Lounge & Showroom, San Diego is a magical experience that i would say everyone should experience in there lives. It is so amazing. I give it 5 Star Plus. You can swing by and get a handcrafted drink and watch some of the best magicians in the world entertain you, on the world famous closeup stage, or you can reserve at spot for the dinner show, which i say is the best. its a whole experience, you get a multi course meal, which is the best. The Chef at Presige is World Renown. He is amazing, and artist with food. The food and the plating is top notch. Im a mac and cheese guy and its the best mac and cheese i have ever had. Also the prime rib is so delicious and mouth watering too. They have so many options for food choices, you can even add more food options if you want more courses of food. the magic in the dinner show is spell binding for sure. the magicians that you see on fool us and on agt and on tv shows, many of them are the magicians on the stage during the theater dining show. the theatre is so intimate and so comfortable. every seat is a good seat. also the decor is so beautiful too. if you go bring your camera, because you are going to take many pictures, trust me. they have many banners of famous magicians from the past. they do an amzing job honoring the giants in magic, and also at the bar area, tv playing with footage of magic greats too . its like disneyland, the staff, bar tenders, servers, back of house, all the house magicians, do a top notch job, they work so hard to provide the best service. Every time i come there, they always exceed my expectations. I love this place so much and this you will love it too. go check it out”
“The best dining event in a long while. Food is terrific and the beer is literally ice cold. The owner is delightful! Please visit cause it is a treat.”

“Order ahead if you're in a hurry and avoid the wait (although it's totally worth it). The food speaks for itself as the best spicy fried chicken you can get from a chain restaurant (Cane and Kentucky who??). The staff at the Mira Mesa location are awesome too as they are patient, calm and very helpful with any customizations and recommendations too”
“as I walked in, I noticed the cleanliness of the restaurant. Then the visual menu helped me with what I wanted to order. The ambiance is perfect! The assistant from the young man was awesome! The food!!! MashaAllah! It is Soo good. I love spicy 🌶️ The chili naan. mmmmm”
“My roommate and I have been coming here for a while, it's easily one of our favorite regular spots. The atmosphere is stylish and gives off great vibes and always feels welcoming. The food is always fresh coming from local California farms. The drink menu is solid with all of the staples and some with added twists. The owners Chris and Jenn are amazing, they and their staff are always kind and provide incredible service. Other points to consider are the burger of the month, a rotating culinary delight often themed and always delicious, and the establishment holds many different events from art shows, drink and paint, trivia and so many others. Honestly, it's always a great place with friendly people. Chris and Jenn are leaders in the community and work to not only provide delicious food, and a great experience but also work hard to make the community better. Would recommend, and do recommend to everyone and anyone. 5/5 stars.”
“Really great service and super good dessert! We've always loved everything we've tried here. If you come later in the evening, be prepared for a busy parking lot but that just comes with a lot of the places in the area. We try to go closer to opening during weekdays now and there's never any trouble with parking during those hours! I'd definitely recommend this place! Also, staff has always been amazing every time we've stopped here!”
“Makai Sushi offers a cozy, casual dining experience where the focus is clearly on the freshness of the ingredients. I tried their hapa roll, featuring Aji tuna and crab, and was impressed by how fresh everything tasted. The venue itself is small, with just four tables inside, but the patio provides a more spacious alternative. It’s a counter-service spot, so you order up front and they bring the food to your table—perfect for a relaxed meal. When I visited, the place wasn’t busy, allowing for quick service. A word of advice: the rolls are generous, and the large pieces make it a challenge to eat in one bite. I’m eager to return and explore their sushi burritos next time!”
“This place is the best! We’re from Colorado and we found this place three years ago when we were visiting. We’ve dreamt about their fish and shrimp tacos ever since, so we make it a point to stop by whenever we’re in San Diego. This last trip was no different. We even went twice this year because they recommended their garlic and butter fish and shrimp tacos and they’re to die for (along with everything else we’ve had). While they do have outdoor seating available, we ate in our car because we had our pup with us. When we went back, they even said they remembered us. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, the place is clean and the food is tasteful. We just wish they would bring their truck to Denver so we could have them more often!”

“Absolutely delicious Lebanese food! Must try the dessert aaysha essaraya.. zatar bread. They have a lot of vegetarian options too .. and the service is friendly!”
“Stopped in for a quick lunch while I was in the area. Wow! I was very pleasantly surprised by the elegant but welcoming atmosphere, professional and friendly service, & excellent food! Their Market Lettuces salad makes the perfect lunch, but the Hummus starter and Bread of the Dead pizza is also highly recommended! I can not wait to come back for dinner and try their infamous octopus (also available at lunch fyi). Will return again and again!”
“Absolutely worth the wait, this place is amazing. Not only is the food over the top great but the staff is super friendly and the service is top notch. I highly recommend and I will always be a customer!!!”
“Thank you Flama Llama for making my 7 yo son's bday lunch special. We came in a group of 11 and they accommodated us quickly. The servers were very attentive and the food were wonderful. They even gave my son desserts for free. The kids especially loved the life size llama structure in the front.”
“This was our 1st anniversary in November, 1991. This is the first booth inside the door, our favorite. In the several years before meeting Patti, I had taken more than a few dates to Baci’s. Why go there? The food, the service, the personal interaction with staff. Talking to the owner once, I discovered he was neighbors with my roommates brother. We left San Diego in 1992 but winter there since retiring and visit Baci’s every year. So happy they’re still going strong.”
“Some of the best bites I’ve had down in SD. Cocktails are not great but the food was amazing. Cute vibe, amazing food, good service. I’m 100% going again and I’d put it in my top 10 SD spots”
“Best ribs, best brisket I ever had!! Worth the $$$$ very good experience , good customer service!! 🙌🏻✌🏻🍻🍻🏖️👙🐚🩱”
“A Culinary Masterpiece: An Unforgettable Evening with Chef Jiwoo Choi From the moment my girlfriend, Kassandra, and I stepped into the Choi’s in downtown San Diego, we knew we were about to experience something truly special. What followed was an extraordinary seven-course tasting menu crafted by the incredibly talented Chef Jiwoo Choi, a chef whose passion for food is evident in every detail of his dishes. Chef Choi created the menu around several questions sent via email before the date. He truly took his time to understand his customers and who they were. The dinner was designed around my girlfriend, for whom the night was centered around for Valentines Day. The customer service was impeccable from the start. The hostess greeted us warmly, immediately making us feel at home, and the entire staff was attentive yet unobtrusive throughout the evening. We were sat at an oval table exclusively to ourselves with candles and wonderful ambiance. Included was a little note card that read “A Dinner Written By You” . Wow. Our server was Chef Choi himself. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the ingredients, offering insightful explanations of each dish, telling the story of the meal, and even sharing about the inspiration behind his creations. The entire team worked seamlessly together, ensuring that every moment of our dining experience felt effortless and elegant. Now, onto the food—a true work of art. Each course was not just a meal but a beautifully presented masterpiece that engaged all the senses. Chef Choi has a remarkable ability to balance flavors, textures, and aromas in a way that leaves a lasting impression. Every dish had a story, each bite revealing new layers of complexity and creativity. Some standout dishes included: A delicate amuse-bouche that set the tone for the evening, bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. Inspired by Kimchi, a sauce enveloped the bits of tofu with a fried rice cake. A The main course was an Australian Wagyu with fingerling potatoes in a chile con carne sauce based from my girlfriend’s childhood. The wagyu melted in our mouths. Potatoes so crispy and delicious you forgot what other potatoes tasted like. A sauce so savory, bursting with tomatillo, garlic, and other flavors. Perfectly balanced as all things should be. The unexpected dish that left me in so much shock was the Greek wedding soup. A cold dish that is better experienced than explained. If I could eat that everyday for the rest of my life it would never be enough. Nothing I could say would live up to the incredible flavors. I ate mine and half my girlfriend’s portion. Finally, a dessert course that was as stunning as it was delicious, showcasing unexpected flavor combinations that worked in perfect harmony. A hot desert, a play on sticky rice. Cardamon, sugar, a small stone fruit with rich notes of raisin and plum. The second dessert was unexpected and intended for my likes (which I found to be such a class act). A ferment plum wine reduction that he infused into a frozen dish (somewhere in the realm of sorbet meets gelato) with a crème brûlée top. Amazing, outstanding. Chef Choi himself took the time to visit our table, a gesture that truly elevated the experience. He shared his inspiration for the menu, spoke about the ingredients, and genuinely wanted to ensure that we were enjoying ourselves. This level of dedication and personal touch is rare and speaks volumes about his commitment to his craft and his guests. He even orchestrated a surprise set of roses for my girlfriend and played it off like I planned it. By the end of the evening, Kassandra and I were completely in awe. The attention to detail, the passion behind every dish, and the warmth of the staff made this one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Chef Jiwoo Choi and his team went above and beyond, creating an evening we will never forget. Five stars are simply not enough!”
“Such a wonderful vegan oasis in the San Fernando Valley! As locals know vegan offerings in the valley are limited compared with the rest of the city. I am so happy that I found this place I will be coming here often! Great food and atmosphere all around!”
“Wow, such great food and awesome service! Had the lobster roll and it was quality lobster and overflowing with actual meat. Everything was delicious.”
Delish!”
“The food was good, but I had to wait a long time since the restaurant was crowded. I love the decoration of the food. The taste is a combination of Asian and Hispanic, very unique.”
“2nd visit and again food and service were great. only complaint was they cleared my dessert when I wasn't finished without asking. took that as hint to leave.”
“You can feel the chef in the sauces and the finish of each dish… a true dedication to what the first bite can do for the experience of fine dining and the cuisine… bravo”
“Best food, drink, service and atmosphere I have experienced in a long time. Rivals Michelin restaurants.”
“Absolutely fantastic experience at Osteria Cotto e Mangiato! The service from Andrea (owner) was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every dish we ordered was incredible-from the rich, comforting Carbonara w/anchovies to the Captain's Treasure chest is unexplainable good, everything was cooked to perfection. You can really taste the quality and care in each bite. This place is a gem in San Diego for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine. Oh, by the way, did I mention the Tiramisu... WOW!! Can’t wait to come back!”
“Just went for the first time at Shabu Works!! Absolutely loved it… can’t wait to go back 😋”
“It's a difficult reservation, but worth it.
Incredible food, atmosphere and the chefs are very attentive to questions. I suspect they will be busy for some time, as I already am planning to come back.”
“It was my first time trying Hot Pot, the food was excellent. The experience was also great. Lots of options and everything was fresh.”
“This was the BEST sushi we have ever had. The entire experience was so wonderful. We left feeling relaxed and happy. Highly recommend this place and the staff were all fantastic and very attentive.”
“Absolutely loved our experience at Mimoza Mediterranean in downtown San Diego! The service was exceptional. Our waitress, Tuğba, was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the meal. The food was flavorful and authentic, and to top it off, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert, Kazandibi, which was absolutely delicious. It’s rare to find such thoughtful hospitality. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving a true Mediterranean experience!”
“Fantastic fresh food; great sushi bar. Wonderful service from Kaz. I highly recommend..best sushi and sashimi around!”
“Absolutely amazing atmosphere, 10/10 service, and bomb drinks. What more could you want. Easily one of the best tiki bars period.”
“Wow. From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed, like I just came home. The food is outstanding, service efficient, and atmosphere clean and inviting.
We ordered the tabouli salad, baba ganoush, fava bean dish, and gyros entree. Everything was so fresh and tasty - I could savor the authentic spices and flavors! Homemade hot sauce to top everything off was delicious. Their lemonade with rose water is refreshing!
With many colorful artworks on the wall and poems on the tables, you can feel the heartbeat of this place. The owner is so kind and shares his story with us. We will be back! 10/10 recommended!”
“Our waiter, Carlos, and the Manager Rodolfo were excellent. Great service from Carlos. Rodolfo manages smoothly and efficient, making sure all your needs are met and then some!”
“We didn't like the table was a very tight table for 4 we may not return because I don't want to be in the same situation with a table like this, everything else was excellent”
“Cannot wait to go back and enjoy the the food, excellent service and ambience of this restaurant. We often each brunch here and their chef events are amazing! I savor every bite 🤤”
“where do I even begin my experience was STUPENDOUS?! Thank you to the honorable mc and host who is a pillar in the representation of the LGBTQ+ community recognized by the city of San Diego for their philanthropy and activism I only found out after the show when I searched for a proper way to tag @ParisSukomiMax and that would be. . . #ParisIsMyHomegirl . she really is! she handled 👏 every guest with hilarity and grace!!! the outfits were 😍🤩 the numbers were PHENOMENAL ORIGINAL and beyond the entertainment I deserve at 1030am over brunch 😍. . “The shrimp head moving scared the crap out of me but everything was delicious and awesome”
“Food was amazing ambiance was great! Only thing is server was rude! When we called him over to take our order he left in 10 seconds as we were debating on what appetizers to get last minute he was honestly very rude the whole time and was honestly the only unpleasant thing.”
“The sushi is amazing...baked salmon roll and Philly rolls are my go to!”
“Amazing food and a testament to being a good citizen of our planet.”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cozy ambience, great Bhangra music, delicious food, and excellent customer service. These dishes were cooked with love and the overall energy of this place is so welcoming and relaxed. Will definitely keep coming back with my fam. 💛”
“Great space and good beers. Always good for that sunset on the patio.”

“Must visit. I don't care for most breweries but East Village Brewing changed that. Definitely try the Sandlot.”
“This place was the most amazing place to have a party. I would recommend it for all my friends and and will come again for sure. they worked with my allergy which is amazing because most places don't. thank you guys sooo much.”
“Our server, David C, was great and very friendly ! The food was also delicious. We brought our 7 months old baby with us. The restaurant was very accommodating as well. Had a great night here !”
“I’ve been ordering meals from Lean Machine for years. I’ve tired a few other meal service companies but no one compares. They’re the only ones that allow you to customize your meals by portion, carb, protein and vegetable choice. They also have great customer service.”
“One of the best and cleanest China hot pot spot in the universe. Promise you won’t get the runs afterwards. Great food selection and a ton of soup base to choose from. Oh and they have the best selection of dipping sauce as well. Must try if you’re visiting the San Diego area. I drove nearly an hour and half in traffic for dinner.”
“If you’re intrigued by this place or overwhelmed by the menu, just get the special beef döner kebab and finish it with a coffee and the best baklava I’ve ever had. Going back home to Greek and generic Mediterranean versions of these foods will be hard. The in house made bread was just as good as the perfectly seasoned and flavorful meat. The coffee was perfectly matched by sweet but not too sweet baklava. The owner was humble and so nice. Please support this business if only for the fact that I’ll know where I’m going first when I get in to town; Istanbul Döner Kebab.
Vegetarian options: Rice, salad, bread, smoothies. May not be Vegan but not sure.
Kid-friendliness: There was a family when I was in there. Nothing that wouldn’t make this not kid friendly.
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible tables”
““Japanese restaurant with amazing quality of fish”
ㅇ (Taste) Both sashimi and sushi are aged amazingly. The taste of fish at a high-quality Japanese restaurant.
- Truffle-topped sushi may be a bit complicated, but the taste of fish is the best.
- If you order the $34 chef's set, you get 6 pieces of rolls, 4 pieces of sashimi, and 6 pieces of sushi. Good value for money
ㅇ (Service) Friendliness. The server continuously checks the meal status. And the food came out super fast.
ㅇ (Atmosphere) Cleanliness inside and outside the store. The spacing is wide so you can relax. There are lots of seats, but it's not noisy at all.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely love Urban Plates! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The menu offers a fantastic variety of fresh, seasonal ingredients, and every dish I’ve tried has been bursting with flavor. What really sets Urban Plates apart is their commitment to quality. The salads are vibrant and crisp, the proteins are cooked to perfection, and I can always count on their delicious, house-made sauces to elevate each meal. The option to customize my plate allows me to explore new flavors while sticking to my dietary preferences. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to recommend their favorites. Plus, the commitment to sustainability and using local ingredients makes me feel good about my choices. Whether I’m dining in or grabbing a meal to go, Urban Plates never disappoints. It’s truly one of my favorite spots to enjoy fresh, wholesome food!”
“By far my favorite brewery in SD! Good people, great environment and the owner Remy is a solid guy. Always feel welcomed here. Beer selection is great and always a good time. Today I got the razzle dazzle sour and it was delicious! Definitely worth the visit.”
“Cider is delicious, as is the food. As a pescatarian, I really appreciate all the vegetarian options and customizations. I joined the Cider Club and it is great. The ciders and discount are awesome but the camaraderie is the best. They also have beer, wine, and cocktails, so something for everyone! (Even N/A!)
The Mexican Caesar with a side of fries is the BEST light lunch or dinner. I keep coming back for it.
The service is always beyond incredible. Everyone is super friendly and eager to help you find what you want.”

“The OFF SHORE TAVERN AND GRILL located on Morena Blvd in Bayshore San Diego is very good place. All of the staff are exceptional. MGRs have welcomed me & all others since day one and continue to provide fantastic service. Doug & Dan just could not try harder to make this establishment succeed any better. Them and all the servers could receive a higher rating as personable and attentive people. They ALL make Everybody welcome . Major Kudos to Doug, Dan, Ramy and ALL of the crew”
“Always GREAT service, food and clean dining area. Lots of options, food is created right in front of you, so piping hot when served. Very friendly environment”
“There was a time when this was my “go to”place for Italian food. Unfortunately after the first owners sold (back in the 80’s or 90’s I think) they went to a “conveyor oven” for cooking pizza. The people who bought Etna’s owned several other Italian restaurants around town and seemed to be successful. Unfortunately they took out a couple of “deck ovens” to streamline the kitchen, like their other restaurants, and quit cooking pizza in those ovens. What they didn’t understand was the pizza bread used to make Etna’s unique pizza was formulated to be cooked in a deck oven. It’s like the difference between a grilled cheese sandwich and a toasted cheese sandwich… it’s just not the same. The caramelization of the sugars in the dough enhanced the overall texture and taste of the pizza when cooked in a deck oven. I’ve lived in San Diego my whole life and have been going to Etna’s since 1976. Etna’s Pizza dough seemed to be the same when the new owners took over and when they changed the way they cooked it ruined the original flavor. I quit going as often as I used to and eventually after several owners later and never going back to using deck ovens the writing was on the wall. The last owners and employees were rude and unattentive. I was hoping they would return to using deck ovens for their pizza but they did not. I tried to explain the reasoning but was rebuffed. So now another San Diego institution has passed into history. The late night (open til 3:00am) seven days a week only Italian restaurant way back when is gone. It’s a shame this new generation will never know the flavors and history of some of these old and iconic family owned and operated businesses.”

“I am late to reviewing and forgetting the servers name. She was from Maryland, and the reason we ordered more than just a pick me up coffee before the Japanese Friendship Gardens. Our server (delightful as can be and a great conversation partner) encouraged us to try the Spicy Calamari and Aquachile. It's not the best flavor pairings with coffee. So, stick with a bubbly libation when ordering these delightful dishes. The flavors, however, are divine. Fresh ingredients that remain high quality! We enjoyed a table overlooking the gardens and lucked into it without a reservation. Although, I recommend reserving in advance for optimal seating and table assurance.”
“As a professional DJ, photographer, and videographer, I love working at Tom Ham's Lighthouse. The panoramic views of San Diego Bay provide a stunning backdrop for wedding photos and videos, and the natural light enhances every image. DJs will appreciate the superior acoustics. The staff is always helpful and accommodating, making the experience seamless for vendors and bringing the couple’s vision to life effortlessly.”
“Amidst the vibrant pulse of downtown San Diego, WaterGrill at 615 J St stands as a beacon of culinary excellence and undeniable charm. On a recent evening, my plans shifted from Italian discontent to the familiar embrace of WaterGrill, a venue that never ceases to impress. The transition was seamless and steeped in relief as we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes and guided to a cozy booth tucked away in the back—a perfect setting for what was to unfold. The service, led by the incomparable Nesha, was nothing short of spectacular. Her effortless candor and keen attention to our dining experience crafted an atmosphere that felt both intimate and celebratory. As a seasoned mortgage broker, I've developed a keen eye for detail and an appreciation for seamless execution—qualities that WaterGrill embodies with finesse. The culinary journey was highlighted by the sublime Chilean Sea Bass and a perfectly seared Filet Mignon, each dish speaking volumes of the skill behind the scenes. The surprise dessert, a sweet gesture orchestrated with style by Nesha, was the cherry on top of an already delightful evening. WaterGrill is not just a restaurant; it’s a study in class, atmosphere, and the art of hospitality. For anyone looking to create core memories around fine dining, this establishment comes highly recommended. The dedication to excellence here mirrors the precision we prize in the mortgage industry, making every visit a reaffirmation of why WaterGrill is a staple in our culinary repertoire.”

“Finally, we have an authentic Turkish restaurant in SD! Bosforo is nothing short of spectacular — from the incredible food to the warm service and inviting ambience. Chef Seckin has truly outdone himself, bringing a genuine slice of Türkiye right to San Diego. Shout out to our Italian server who was super friendly and knowledgeable (sorry forgot his name). We absolutely loved Bosforo and will definitely go back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Turkish cuisine.”

Rosemarie’s is pronounced Rosemary’s if the guy answering the phone knew what he was doing, but I like to think it’s rohz-muh-rees because that’s more unique and endearing. It’s a two-location tiny burger spot that specializes in sliders. As a lover of variety, this is like a burger heyday because I get to try not one but two burgers! Now don’t be fooled… these “sliders” could probably slide right in with a smaller traditional burger… because they’re large for a slider. I got the Rosiemac and the Little Sal and both were delicious. Clearly they are starting with a good product so any of their creative combinations are going to be good. The Little Sal was my favorite with its onion confit and bacon whiskey sauce - it’s like the royalty of flavors were having a party and thank goodness I was invited. The onion rings and dipping sauce were also great aspects to the party. If you’re not a beer drinker (this seems to keep haunting me) the drink selection is limited. But it was the perfect excuse for a Mexican Coke which paired better than any brew in my opinion. Cheers to Rosemarie’s for taking sliders to the next level with their innovative delicious creations that start with a flavorful, juicy burger!

“My husband prefers their lunch cheeseburger but I prefer their breakfast sandwich. It's the best in SD. Love that the smashed patty is perfectly crispy. They make one of my fave matcha lattes of SD: iced pistachio matcha latte w housemade macadamia almond milk. Delicious! If it was slightly less sweet though, it'd be perfect. The date milkshake was smaller than expected and too sweet for my taste. Updated from previous review on 2025-09-05”
“I am so happy happened to walk by this GEM! $37.99( More choices) for each person and half of for children. The meat sizes are huge! The quality of the food is top notch! I am willing to drive from LA to San Diego just for this! I forgot to mention they also include a 6 oz Rib eye. Yes!!! I know!”
“I went there to eat with a coworker for lunch earlier today. It was my very first time having been there. I was recommended by a couple of my friends. The restaurant was pretty spacious and the staff were very friendly. I ordered the laab seen (ລາບຊີ້ນ) a Lao minced beef salad and the tom khueng nai (ຕົ້ມເຄື່ອງໃນ) a Lao beef innards soup with some sticky rice. Lunch was delicious. I will definitely be going back there again. I will be bringing my mom. She was actually the person that had brought up this place to me before as well. See you again in the near future.”
“We went here for lunch on a weekday and it was pretty empty. The girl who worked there was really nice and seems to be the only person there who speaks English.
We ordered the skewer combo and added a few vegetable skewers too. I like how we could choose the flavors and spiciness level on each item. It's made to order so there was a little wait. We really enjoyed the food!”
“Adorable coffee shop with a whimsical, artsy vibe—perfect for studying or relaxing. Their ceremonial grade matcha is incredible (seriously the best I’ve had), and the pastries and food are creative and delicious. The patio is dog-friendly and a dreamy little escape. Can’t recommend it enough!”
“Fun Gay Bar & Grill with a patio and daily happy hour. Full menu of Mexican food, burgers, wings, and cocktails. I had the grilled veggie salad with chicken, and it was very tasty with lots of garlic and seasonings, and a very healthy alternative to the rest of the menu!”
“I am a local and my boyfriend and I come to Margaritaville regularly for staycations. (5 times since the spring) I finally a writing this review because of the exceptional service we receive every single time from both Shayla and Damien who work at the rooftop bar. They remembered us by name after the very first visit, are so accommodating and both very hard workers, attentive and polite- rare for young people these days- especially in hospitality. Shayla always makes sure we are taken care of and is sweet and personable and Damien is always on his grind! Always moving! He takes his job seriously and has great energy. Both of them are always one step ahead which is exactly how you should be in the service industry. It’s not an easy job! I’ve also witnessed them both deal with difficult guests with professionalism and grace. They both deserve props for their efforts!”
