“We drove from Kona to visit this little tea shop and it was well worth it! I had the scenic point with watermelon boba and my husband had the watermelon fruit tea with lychee jelly. I can honestly say I’ve tried several other places on the island and Tea O’clock is tops! The scenic point is a jasmine tea, you could tell it was fresh. The flavor was absolutely beautiful! The watermelon fruit tea was just as you’d expect it should be. Nothing was watered down, only flavorful teas here!! I highly suggest this place!”

“Some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life—my goodness! Chief Soto is absolutely incredible. The filet mignon was hands down the best filet mignon I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and packed with flavor.

Honestly, everything you eat here is going to be delicious. You can tell Chief Soto puts his heart and love into every single meal he makes, and you can taste it in every bite. This isn’t just good food—it’s food made with passion. 10/10, absolutely amazing! 🔥🥩❤ Also best sunsets ever”

“Loved our dinner at Browns Beach House! Ambiance was great, especially our seat right along the lawn (unobstructed view of the sunset) and the live music. Our server, Liana, was excellent and very personable. I enjoyed my chicken entree and champagne. My husband had a delectable coconut/cacao cocktail and a fish entree - mahi mahi. It was such a lovely evening. Very memorable, especially those delicious rolls!”

“I ordered the wor wonton min and it was loaded with veggies and won tons- no complaints! I also got a 2 choice plate with roast pork and beef broccoli and the rice noodle- could’ve had more beef broccoli on the plate but there was generous amounts of roast pork and noodles. Both ladies working behind the counter were patient, kind and courteous.”

“The hau tree got a huge upgrade when Mauna Kea remodeled. The kitchen is much larger, almaing meals quicker. And they changed the dinner menu to have a Mexican focus. We love Mexican food and this is really well done. Sinaloa chicken and the Tijuana Caesar are two of our favorites. And the location, right on the beach, has always been impossible to beat.”

“The breakfast buffet at Manta is spectacular. The food quality, variety, and presentation are all excellent, and it is easily one of the highlights of staying at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.

One of the best parts is that Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members receive the full breakfast buffet as part of their elite breakfast benefit. I really appreciate that the hotel provides the actual buffet rather than limiting Platinum members to a basic continental breakfast or a small credit. It makes Platinum status feel genuinely valuable here.

The main issue is staffing. There can be surprisingly long waits to be seated for breakfast even when there are many empty tables throughout the restaurant. It is frustrating to wait for a table while looking at numerous open tables, and it makes the problem feel much more like a staffing shortage than a true capacity issue.

The food and setting are excellent, but the service operation needs to catch up with the quality of the rest of the hotel. Overall, the Manta breakfast buffet is excellent, and the complimentary full buffet for Marriott Platinum members is a particularly strong benefit.”

Ask questions for sizes and what it is you are ordering if uncertain. :) staff and everyone was super friendly. We even brought our 7month to the dinner and everything went better than expected. Good food, good people, good vibes.”

“After a long morning at Waimea State Park, I picked Da Booze Shop because the name made me laugh. Well the jokes on me because the food, service, and atmosphere were stellar! I have always loved eating in Mom and Pop places because they always have the best food. I got the Mahi Katsu and had enough leftover for a snack. If you are traveling with kids this is a great place to eat. You can eat across the street at the park and let the kids play and expend some energy.”

However, we asked to 'substitute' a few toppings but were charged for 'substitutes' as 'extra toppings'. One pizza cost us $45+ tips. So, we paid for the toppings we never had on our pizza too. in this regard, make sure you check before paying.”

“We were cruising down Waimea for Father's day and thought of trying a new place out. We look at reviews first, and was hesitant to try. We thought of only trying one dish to share, but got swayed as we browsed through the menu. Glad it wasn't AI, as photos can be deceiving sometimes.

We saw that a duck soup was available on their menu, and got the lemongrass beef vermacelli noodles w/ veggies.

Everything was incredible. Simple & Flavorful! The amount of duck in that soup was very generous. The flavor of the beef, together with the garlic flakes matched the brightness and acidity of the sugar vinegar mixed with veggies.

Will come back for the duck soup for sure!”
