“This was an important dinner, my son who is 26, had surgery(had his tonsils removed) a couple days ago, and The recovery is described as one of the worst, and it feels like shards of glass in your throat.he has to eat soft food and he had Choices all over the Kansas City metro area. He chose Joe’s, Joe’s mac & cheese to be exact! We live on the Missouri side (Gladstone). So I decided to stop by this evening, and not only get a quart of mac & cheese for him, I grabbed dinner for myself (z-man w/ fries, ribs w/ red beans and rice, Mac and cheese) which I was reluctant to do, due to me having to drive 35 minutes home and I was worried that it was going to be Soggy and cold, Well, much to my surprise, the food was packed perfectly, my food was still hot, and my fries were still crispy! Thank you Joe’s in Leawood you did amazing! I will probably be back in the next couple of days to purchase more Joes mac & cheese! BTW this son of mine recommends Joes to everyone!! “Food is really good, I've ordered many times from them but my last order included an $8.25 fee for carry out supplies. They charge a percent of the entire bill. No where in the check out process do they tell you this. This seems excessive for 6 utensil packs and 5 takeout containers. Many other BBQ places with similar price points do not charge this fee. If you are going to charge extra fees be up front about it.“

“I’ve enjoyed the food from Jack Stack at various locations and for catering but going in and experiencing the customer service at the Lenexa location elevated my thoughts on the restaurant so much. Even on a busy night, Our waitress, Sara was gracious toward our big group and we never felt rushed to get-in and get-out. The wings, salmon dip and sliders were delicious. The bartenders made top notch cocktails and were also providing great service! We’d come back just for the atmosphere but the food and drinks make it even more one of our go-to places.“

“Found myself in Grandview working a service call on an extremely cold Saturday morning. After I got that furnace fixed I found this awesome spot for BBQ! Highly recommend making the time to stop in, ribs were perfect tender, pulled pork was delicious and not smothered in sauce, I love the beans again flavor of the ingredients not over powered by sauce. 💯“

“I was looking for something different and the brisket Rangoon caught my eye on line and brought me in. The thought of bbq thai fusion was intriguing. I was greeted immediately but was on my own so opted to sit at the bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu, the food and the business. I told her I had come in for the rangoon and told her I didn’t want straight Thai or straight BBQ but to pick anything she would recommend. I told her I have a high heat tolerance, no weird food allergies and like just about everything. She chose the red curry burnt ends with steamed rice. The manager joined us and we all had great conversation about the food, food in general and their sister restaurant Muni in the River Market. Food, service, presentation and atmosphere were all fantastic. All of the recommendations were spot on. I look forward to my next opportunity.“

WOW. 2 of us had The Daily Special Texas Sweet (Pulled Pork, Scimecas Italian Sausage, Onion Straws piked high on huge bun. 1 SIDE. I had some green beans son had some of the huge famous beer battered potato wedges. Hot, fresh, tasty for $11.99. Both of us took decent amount home as well. Before I left, I asked for them to replace it. Manager said that was her fault, not his, and refused to replace it. They cheat you out of food. Manager is lying in his response. I spoke to him before I left and asked where my 2nd meal was and then to replace it. All in the same visit.“

“Lord have mercy folks. When I tell yall this place is off the chain, believe me. From the time I arrived I met the owner Mr. Steve Zarda & he greeted me and treated me like a life-long friend of his. That alone made my day as a Trucker bcuz sometimes we get treated like dirt out here. We talked outside as I was about to come in & he started walking with me as I told him I was from Big D Dallas and I was stopping by to check this place out. Not knowing i was walking & talking with the owner of Zarda the whole time. He allowed me to tell him how I was sitting n my big truck checking out the reviews of this place & the reviews were great. He kindly smiled and said, Hi, my name is Steve Zarda and I'm the owner. I was blown away folks bcuz he was outside washing the pad around the drive thru & the back door. Now I'm really, really impressed with him as a man & his work ethics as mine. Well we proceeded inside & it was very, very clean, nicely decorated, a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere to be in. Mr. Zarda introduced me to his entire staff which were some of the nicest, coolest, professional young people I've seen n a long time on a job folks. Nobody was texting & half ignoring me as a customer. They were all so nice, knowledgeable of the menu and anxious to help me. That made my day all the way. Mr. Zarda said since this is your first time here I'm going to take care of U. And lord knows he did just that folks. They made sure I was totally and completely happy, full & complete. Lol.. I couldn't eat all that food but I definitely took my to go bag like a champ. The food was to die for folks, the ribs were smoked perfectly & falling off the bone, all the 3 different beans i tried were unbelievable to the taste buds, the onion rings were fried to perfection with a light crunch & the beef & pork burnt ends were just right, they melted n yo mouth with a edge of crunchyness. All I can say is this folks, this is truly, truly my new found BBQ place in Lenexa, KS. Whenever I'm trucking thru here. Just to know I have a place to stop away from home & I'm treated like a dear friend Instead of a customer by the owner & all his staff from front to back, hell that alone is worth my time, money & support folks. I'm asking all my friends, family members, my biker community and all my truckers who come thru Kansas, please stop here & check them out folks. You'll be glad u did & you'll thank me later. A long time fixture at their KCK location, they have served what many, many customers have found to be the best, most original barbeque in the entire country. Consistently tender and flavorful. Plus their barbeque beans are truly delicious, and the fries are perfectly crispy outside, tender inside.
