“Passing through KC on a multi-state road trip, looked up best BBQ spots and Q39 was on multiple lists. Lunch did not disappoint. Wife and I had the Judges platers. Chicken, pork, and sausage for her. Brisket, ribs, and sausage for me. All of the meats were amazing. Our server, Maddie M., was very friendly and helpful in choosing options. Normally we enjoy having a slower paced meal but since we're traveling it was nice that we were in and out in under an hour. Highly recommend!“
“This has to be so far my favorite bbq place I’ve ever been to. I haven’t been to many bbq restaurants but it’s my top choice so far. I tried the brisket sandwich and the chicken sandwich. I’ve got to say both were super juicy, tender, and delicious. I can see why the folks here in Kansas City love this restaurant. I was recommended by a friend of mine from here and he for sure was right about this restaurant. If you want a good bbq restaurant then you have to come to joes. I think the brisket sandwich is for sure what you have to come and try. The sandwich I got was called the Z man sandwich. Me, my family, and friends loved this place. Service was very good, fast, and the staff was super friendly. The restaurant was packed but it was easy to find seating and we were a huge party of 15. Very family friendly restaurant. Very kid friendly restaurant.“
“Food was delicious! Staff was fabulous! And the wait time and turn around time between ordering and food delivery is MIND-BLOWING! We were expecting a long wait for a large party and I just knew bringing the food out would take 40 mins or so. But they came out within 10 mins! Blew us away! We'll definitely be back! Awesome job, Q39! Awesome job! ❤️????“
“Stopped and had lunch at this establishment! My husband and I like to try different BBQ places around the KC area. This has definitely been one of our favorites. The amazing customer service started the moment we walked in the door. The selection of menu items were very unique and delicious! After we finished our lunch our server came by with our check and that’s when we let her know that this was our first visit. We were quick to let her know that we were very satisfied with the service and the food. Before we finished paying for our lunch the owner stopped by our table. This is something we do not experience at a lot of places. While we were visiting with him our server came back to the table with a few samples of some of their side dishes. This is what I love about the small businesses that we love to support! See you all real soon at F325 BBQ.“
“My Birthday dinner, I was able to reserve a table for 18 the day before it was tough but they worked with me. Our waiter Corey was AWESOME he was patient & courteous never got an attitude which I can appreciate and took care of all our needs. Great food & great service!!“
“OMG fantastic BBQ! Some of the best, most tender burnt ends I've had in KC! Definitely will be returning for brunch! We also enjoyed an appetizer w/$8 off for their "8th Anniversary Special" - we got the BBQ wontons - definitely would recommend. But I also saw the appetizer for onion straws - it was stacked about 6 inches high with onion straws across the 12 inch appetizer plate - it was HUGE to say the least & I was sad we didn't get that too after seeing it :) Kye was great! Very quick & on top of our needs. She seemed to be one of the few waiters/waitresses working & she kicked major butt! Thank you!!“
“This is probably my most favorite BBQ joint in the area. Great food, casual atmosphere, friendly service. My fav: The chicken ?My advice to those who haven't been here: The line can be up to an hour long, and can extend to the corner of the street. So be prepared to stand for awhile. Keep little ones occupied or have them come after you've ordered the food... Or even easier, grab the food to go. There is very little seating inside (compared to how busy this place is). Be prepared to sit outside and be prepared for wind and/or sun.I will definitely continue to go here, even though there's a wait and little seating.“
“I’ve gone here many times and it has never disappointed. I’ve been to BBQ restaurants in all over the country and especially many in Missouri and none have compared to this place.Parking: The parking lot is somewhat large but they’re typically so busy whenever I visit that it’s kinda hard to find a spot.Kid-friendliness: There isn’t much for kids to do but they do have a kids menu with many good options to eat.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs in the whole place and the designated area for the line is certainly accessible for wheelchairs.“
“When I went here when Kari's first opened I was pretty disappointed, but I'm glad I gave them time to start their new business and another try a year later! This time the chicken shawarma was delicious, the baba ganoush was delicate and packed with flavor, their lentil soup was beautifully spiced. The pita was soft, with olive oil and zaatar, and the falafel was pretty good too. The atmosphere was great and the service was lovely! Make sure to try their special lemonades!Currently the best middle eastern on W39th!Vegetarian options: Falafel sandwich, lentil soup, baba ganoush, dolma, hummus, pita and more“
“Tried this local Gem for the first time tonight. it was by far the best BBQ my husband and I have ever eaten. The Pork belly burnt ends & brisket were melt in your mouth. The jalapeño sausage were the best my husband has ever had. The BBQ sauce was complimented the meats and was also very good. The street corn salad and lemon slaw were unique and would definitely recommend. Planning our next outing already to this place.“
“This place is AMAZING. We found it by accident as we were driving through on our way north. Hands down the best vegan soul food I have ever tasted. Collard greens were complex and flavorful, the corn bread was absolutely luscious, and the sauce on the vegan brisket was out of this wold. If they were in Minneapolis I'd eat there every single day. The space was bright and cheerful and the staff was incredibly welcoming. What a treat!“
“Arguably the best BBQ in the KC area. The Z man sandwich was my favorite for years, but lately I've been getting their Carolina sandwich and adding two onion rings to that. Make sure you get their tasty fries to share with someone else. Pork ribs are seasoned just right. Big Red soda served at the fountain ?“
“It’s a gorgeous restaurant and the food was good. The cornbread is a must! However, when the waiter asked if we wanted desserts we said no then were going to ask for a round of drinks instead. But before we could ask she gave us our bill and left…it was a little odd so we decided to pay and go somewhere else for drinks. We were sitting at a high top in the bar, where you’d expect to be asked if you want more to drink. We only had one each, so it wasn’t like we needed to be cut off. I think we were there for a total of 30-45 minutes.“
“First off, the food was amazing! Three of us shared the Whomp! Platter and we had quite a bit left over. Literally the best burnt ends we have ever had. Our server was new, but she acknowledged that early and let us know it was her first day. She was willing to learn if she didn’t know something. The atmosphere was fun. It was a little chilly outside but I could see the outdoor patio being packed in great weather. Overall it was great and we would definitely go back.“
“The food was delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. Our waitress was sweet and professional. Great for gluten-free dining too! We loved the whole experience!Dietary restrictions: One of us has celiac disease, but there were plenty of delicious gluten-free choices.“
“My wife and I was heading to a different BBQ place when we stumbled upon this place. First off, the staff is amazing and friendly. We decided to start off with the Pulled pork egg rolls, let me tell you, these were amazing and the best egg rolls I've had. The smoke flavor from the pork really comes through and the sweet and sour sauce has a nice little kick to it. For our entrees, we both went with the 2 meat bbq meal, I had the pork belly and Thai sausage and the wife had the pull pork and brisket and we both got the Mac n cheese along with the jasmine rice it comes with. First off, you get a lot of food. The meat is spread over top the rice and it really goes well together. Our favorite was the heavenly pork, it had a nice smokey flavor with a little bit of sweetness to it. The brisket was juicy and tender and overall well smoked. My 2nd favorite was the Pork belly. Think bacon but much thicker and seemed deep fried? It was amazing but even better dip in the BBQ sauce. The sausage had nice flavors to it, one that sticks out was the lemongrass. It paired really well with the Tiger cry sauce, which is nice and spicy. Lastly, the Mac n cheese, it was delicious, the cheese sauce was creamy and smooth with a little spice. Think Velveeta and white cheddar. Overall this was a fantastic meal, one my wife was hesitant about at first but was amazed on how great the food was and we can't wait to go back and try the other items on the menu of what I would describe as Thai infused bbq. Well done Buck Tui BBQ.“
“I didn't remember to take a pic but OMG I was very impressed with the food, the taste, the portions and the customer service was excellent. 2nd time around my cowers and I placed a to go order and we ordered a little of everything so we could sample each other's and again they didn't disappoint! I will be reto your tub this week when I place an order. Oh the Baked BeansAre on point.“
“We're forever driving past SmokeTown BBQ, commenting that we needed try to it someday. Yesterday was the day! The inside is perfect BBQ decor, wood paneling, tvs, neons, and of course a Kelce Swift cutout that looks like a cute picture opportunity. You order at the counter, and they bring it out. Everyone we encountered was so nice, and the food came out quickly. My first time order is always a brisket/beef sandwich and either onion rings or beans. Although I've heard amazing things about the mac and cheese, we didn't try it. The bun was soft and fluffy, the beef sliced thin (the way I prefer it), and the medium sandwich was the perfect size for me to demolish after skipping lunch. The onion rings were perfectly crispy, and delicious, but I can't confirm if they're made in house, for those who quest for the perfect onion ring. There were regular, sweet, and spicy sauce options, we didn't try the sweet, but liked the regular and the spicy. We'd definitely go back and try more things, especially the mac and piggy, and the smoked Gouda balls.“
“I finally got to check out Chef J this last weekend. I've had it via catering but I wanted to go and order to see for myself what the hype was about. They do tend to sell out early but we got lucky on this visit with the only sold out item being turkey (which I wasn't gonna get anyway). Ordering is a bit confusing. You walk up and order meats/entree with the first person, move through the line to order sides, then finally drink and paying at the last stop. I decided to go with the MVP 15: brisket, pulled pork, sausage, with a burnt end top on a Farm to Market Potato bun. I'm pretty sure that the burnt end top was missing...at least I didn't find it. The meat was really good. The brisket was a bit dry and needed sauce. The jalapeño sausage was also good but a bit overdone so again it was dry. The pulled pork was good with the mustard bbq sauce (the yellow one). I'd definitely order it again. We tried 3 sides-hickory pit bbq beans, Mac and cheese, and smoked elotes. I'm super picky on bbq beans and I tend not to like too many. The bbq beans here were good. I personally wouldn't get them again but I didn't hate them. The Mac and cheese was pretty average. Again not bad but not the best I've ever had and I'd probably pass on it in the future. My favorite was the smoked elotes. I really liked the flavors and would definitely get these again. Honestly I was a bit underwhelmed. I've seen and heard the hype and while it was good...top 5 is a meh from me. I'll definitely return and if you haven't I'd recommend you check it out.“
“We shared a combo plate and a chili. Both were great the ribs and brisket were one of the best we have tried in KC this year !!We also bought a smoked turkey for thanksgiving it was great and easy to heat up.I would recommend it if your anywhere near !“
“This place was perfect every bit of it can't even find a complaint for this place!! Came thru on a quick business trip wanted some premier bbq and I'll tell anyone this is the place! 4 hours from home for me but I'll be back again soon!!!“
“I don’t normally do reviews, I always figured my continued business was sufficient support, but I have learned (yes ol dogs can learn new tricks) that ppl looking for recommendations might like a review. I have been a long time fan of Jacks Stack and it is our go to BBQ restaurant. Whether it’s dine in or take out, staff is awesome, service is great and best of all, the food is amazing!“
“We are on a cross-country trip and a friend suggested we try Brobeck’s. It was so good! I had short ribs with Mac-n-cheese and green beans. My husband had a sliced brisket sandwich with a salad. We also enjoy sampling their famous ham salad. Our waitress was very friendly and we had a great time! We’ll be back anytime we’re nearby.“
“We did carry out last night, my first time. I love BBQ and this is now in my top 5, of all the places I’ve been in town. Really good quality meat, I love that their menu has lots of unique options different from others, easy access location. Next time we will dine in, the restaurant space seems great. Their specials look awesome too.Got the Texas ranger sandwich, pulled pork, fries, onion rings, and corn. All was excellent“
“Walked in and we were greeted with a friendly smile. I wasn’t hungry but my boyfriend wanted some BBQ. Today’s special was burnt ends. I ordered a lb. of smoked brisket because the smell was amazing in this place. I suddenly became hungry LOL!We ordered side dishes of baked beans and fries. Our meal came quickly to our table. The beans were on point, not sweet and not plain. The fries were crunchy and delicious. The burnt ends were spot on. My eyes were bigger than my stomach but I tried to eat 1/2 lb. of the brisket. I’m saving the other half for dinner tomorrow. We were given two types of BBQ sauce (hot/mild) and pickle spears. The waitress told us she had dessert if we were interested. I could see the Neapolitan cake on the counter. It was a beautiful cake. She sold us on the S’mores cake. The restaurants ambiance makes you want to come back have some drinks, great food, talk to the staff and owner. By the way, every other Wednesday they have Kareoke night 6-10 pm. I’m definitely coming back. Look if you’re not into meat that’s great but if you’re into dessert you have to try this place! The cake maker is listed on here too.Ps. We couldn’t wait to eat and that’s why some of the food is gone.Parking: Plenty of free parking in the front, side, and rear of building.Kid-friendliness: There’s coloring pages for the kiddos and kid friendly food. What kiddo doesn’t love fries!“
“Hometown heroes eat the best! Immiators eat the rest. Best Kansas City in the BBQ around town. Real people. Real food. Real good.Parking: Best parking in Kansas!Kid-friendliness: Don't let them learn anywhere else! Good manners!Wheelchair accessibility: Of course!“
“10/10 best Korean BBQ in the area. We are frequents here and leave full, happy and have so much fun doing the BBQ. You don’t have to do the BBQ, you can be sat at a normal table and order off the menu and it is also delicious! Very yummy!!“
“We recently had a small informal wedding and reception at the The 180 Room. What a great place with excellent service and fabulous food. The atmosphere was perfect for us. It is a hidden gem in Olathe. Jen took care of everything and was so easy to work with.“
“Pulled pork sandwich did not disappoint! The meat was tender and flavorful, perfectly complemented by their tangy barbecue sauce. The side of coleslaw added a refreshing crunch to the meal. The service was friendly and prompt, and the rustic atmosphere added to the charm of the experience. Must-visit!“
“I'm so glad that you guys reopened. This place makes my heart happy! Sean our server was absolutely amazing! The old team is back from before! And it just makes me happy to be able to revisit one of my favorite places that I thought was lost to time, but it makes it all that much better to see the same inviting faces when you go! Congratulations on your reopening! I'll be back very soon!“
“The optimal choice for savoring barbeque with a side of entertainment is the BBQ establishment that features a live band performance every Friday night. During my visit, I indulged in the delectable Burnt Ends platter complemented by a refreshing glass of iced tea.“
“Our visit here was absolutely wonderful. The food took a little while to come out, but it was absolutely amazing. They were also understaffed, but our server Pati was very nice and worked very hard to accommodate for the many people in the restaurant. She was very nice and patient to all of us, and even took special orders that weren’t on the menu. It was also kind of quiet, but peaceful. Overall, our experience was great and I recommend to all!“
“Not sure why this place is never spoken of as one of the great KC BBQ places up with the others. The food is definitely a top 5 bbq in KC and the sauce is easily a top 3. It is a super casual place that just makes great food. I have been here several times, and the only downside is that the they are occasionally understaffed with waiters/waitresses which can make paying your bill a little slow. Other than that this place is great.“
“This BBQ restaurant offers a menu board and counter service to order. There is plenty of staff and the restaurant is clean. I ordered the burnt end combo with beans. The meal comes with fries and cole slaw. There are four different sauces on the table already. I tried all four of course. The variety is nice. The sauces are fine. The burnt ends, pork and beef, were tasty. The slaw was served cold and fresh. The slaw could have used a little more spice. The fries came unseasoned and were bland but hot and crunchy. There was no salt or pepper on the table. These items were located by the soda machine. The beans were okay. This one is a definite must try.“
“Discovered this place through a FB video and it was amazing!Turkey on bun was delicious and had the perfect amount of sauce! The ribs were fantastic as well! They don’t have fries unfortunately but, their baked beans definitely made up for it and man they’re the best in KC! IMO!If you’re ever in the area and have the time come by and support the Jones family! They know what they’re doing and are super friendly!“
“The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Jamon did a great job checking in on us as did the floor manager. I liked seeing her walk around to check in on her guests from time to time. We had the best time celebrating my best friend’s birthday.“
“This is a great place for steak lovers who want a good steak at a reasonable price with a very friendly service. In the end, you don't need to hunt down the server to pay as now you can pay at the table using a small kiosk set up on the table. Make sure to call ahead and get on the waiting list. If not, you'll be waiting for hours. This is such a popular place :)“
“We arrived as a group of 9 and all left satisfied. The burgers matched what we had seen on their online menu. Our orders included the Classic Burger, Pork Brisket Sandwich, and Pulled Pork Pigwich. While they appeared small, they were packed. The beef and pork were seasoned well. The patties were not oily like most places and yet still good. The fries were addictively tasty. Despite being full, everyone was eager to help finish the fries that we overordered.“
“I stopped by on the way to Montana to grab a quick bite and they were under construction. I told them I was just passing by and they offered to fry some fish up for me. I loved the hospitality they showed, I love the batter on the fish, it's well seasoned and very crispy. I didn't get to try anything else unfortunately, but if it's fried and has the same batter it'll be delicious regardless of what it is. Next time I'm driving through, I'll have to stop by again.“
“We visited close to closing time on Sunday and had some of the best catfish I’ve had in KC. The fried chicken and potato salad were also delicious, but what I appreciated most was how kind the owner was even as we chatted after closing time. We’re looking forward to going back on a night where we can enjoy the live music in addition to the fantastic service.“
“Amazing food. Not cheap at all, but super high quality and worth the price. The bulgogi was juicy and flavorful and came with a wonderful side salad perfectly dressed with sweet miso (?). The banchan (side dishes) were delicious and four came with the bulgogi. The packaging was careful with plenty of foil in the styrofoam boxes to ensure minimal leakage which was appreciated. The corn cheese was so deliciously greasy good!!! The kimchi pancake was ungodly expensive at something like $17 but was large and very flavorful. Three items came out to just under $60.“
“An often overlooked place in one of the great BBQ destination cities, which has always puzzled me. They are consistently good with any dish that I order, there's always plenty of places to sit and park, and it's easy to find. If you traveled to the city to get a taste of the great barbecue joints, skip one of the ones that are always on the tourism lists and go here instead. You won't be disappointed.“
“I'm not a huge fan of sports bars but when your in Kc you gravitate toward BBQ. Glad I made it past the sports part because the food was great and service at the bar was top notch. Highly recomend the Carolina pulled pork the slaw realy set it off and be sure to try the spicey sauce.?? ps they have Dunkel on tap .“
“This is one of the best BBQ places around Kansas City. It is up there with Arthur Bryants and Gates. The food is good, although they seemed to run out of fries each time we went. Everybody has always seemed to enjoy whatever we get there, be it the ribs or some kind of sandwich. The most recent time I went, I got a ham sandwich, and I could maybe eat half of it. The portions are well sized. Since they ran out of fries a few orders ahead of us, I got the jalapeno poppers, which aren't really my thing. In my experience, the fries are just the normal kind of greasy fry you'd expect from a gem BBQ off some sketchy area in KC. The atmosphere got 4/5 because sometimes the ventilation doesn't work 100%, and the smoke from the big smoker fills up the place. Great place overall, reccomend you visit.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp on the inside if you'd like to easily get down to the floor to order food.“
“Rosedale Bar-B-Q is (in mine and my family's opinion) the ABSOLUTE BEST in everything! I recently moved back to Oklahoma, and NOTHING compares! I LOVE hot BBQ sauce. And Oklahoma just does NOT have it! I'm a "burnt end girl. I can go in ANYTIME, and they have my burnt ends!(Have tried several different places, and nope!) LOVE MY Rosedale Bar-B-Q! I really miss it!Wheelchair accessibility: Very spacious. Easily accessible for wheelchairs.“
“I was born and raised in Kansas City and I love Zarda BBQ! It is delicious. Tonight, I got the burnt end beans. I love that none of their sauces have gluten and they are always so helpful when choosing dishes. The service is always impecable. We love the fries and burnt ends!“
“Food is great my only complaint is that the portion sizes can vary wildly based on who is serving you, I work nights and tend to only get two meals a day these days and it's tough to justify eating here if I'm not certain that I'll get enough “
“We went to get their seasonal lamb chops, which are back by popular demand! They were fire-grilled to perfection on the bone with roasted tomato garlic-herb sauce, creamy mashed potatoes, and wilted spinach. These are to-die-for! Can't go wrong ??.I got the ribeye with mashed potatoes, and that didn't disappoint either so delicious ?.The wings are really good, too!My only complaint is their drinks, especially the Margaritas; they were mediocre! I still gave them 5 stars since the food was so good ??.“
“It is very beautiful. We thank you for the law and order for nutritional advice and good food. Thank you, my dear brother.Wheelchair accessibility: شكرا عزيزتي على النظام والقانون للاستشارات الادارية والمالية والاقتصاد والتسويق الطعام النظيف وتقديري واحترامي لك“
“Definitely the top 5 BBQ in KC. You don't hear about it when people are talking about KC BBQ like Joe's, Q39 (way over rated), Jack Stack, LC's (my all time favorite), woodyard or many others. But when I have people in from out of town for business trips, I tell them to skip the other well known places and try RJs. Prices are great, the habanero BBQ sauce is best in the city. Plus it's near my house. Love to go in, sit at the bar, watch a game, have a beer and some amazing BBQ. Great neighborhood feel. Give it a shot. Best little secret in Mission.“
