“Wow. What an absolutely fantastic final dinner of 2023! After we managed to find a late dinner reservation for New Year's Eve, it was a relief to discover that our excitement about the tasting menu was well-placed. I would definitely recommend the drink pairings as well! The amuse-bouche featuring oysters from the West and East coasts was a delightful way to splash into the meal. The wasabi and the mangosteen featured in each of the oysters, respectively, complimented the beautiful brine of the oysters in such a wonderfully playful way. This first tasting urged us to pause the menu progression and order an extra dozen oysters to explore the other possibilities. Tasting from Vancouver to Prince Edward Island, they were beautifully prepared and of excellent quality. The first course of lobster salad felt like a summer in Maine. Not that I've ever been to Maine, but the imaginary scene flashed across my vision as I took that first refreshing bite. The grapefruit emulsion worked almost majestically with the light, refreshing flavor of the lobster salad. The tapioca chip was perfect for the crunch to fully bring the different elements of the dish together. A fascinating intersection of refreshment and comfort. The second course was the potato pavé. I'll be thinking of this potato often for the foreseeable future. It was one of those dishes that makes your eyes pop open a bit when you bite it as you realize how good it is. A beautifully layered and seared rectangle of flaky delicious potato resting with a lovely salsa brava speckled with trout roe, topped with tarragon, cured trout, and black truffle flakes. I don't even know what else to say. It was stunning. Sea urchin buttered ramen, the third course, will always be what I wish my at-home thrown-together ramen could be. It was rich, it was luscious, it was comforting. Growing up in southeast Texas, crawfish boils were always some of the most exciting times of the year. The crawfish tails in the ramen brought me back to those summer days eating crawfish with a cold beer. The duck breast for the fourth course was exceptionally cooked. It was juicy and flavorful and made a perfect bite with a bit of cauliflower, raisins, apricot, agrodolce, and foie-sauce. Each bite was such a symphony of flavor that kept me coming back. Last but absolutely not least was the gâteau ardéchois: the chestnut cream cake. Accompanied by cranberry coulis and crispy meringue bites, this dessert was a sweet but still mellow finish. While the coffee mascarpone ice cream was a robust and complementary flavor, we both agreed the vanilla coconut ice cream was the star between the two. Thank you again to the stellar crew at Mink! “The food and service from waitstaff is good. However, the restaurant’s policy on carry out orders is absurd and not customer friendly. After calling to place a carry out order I was advised they don’t accept them. I then asked if they would accept an order if I paid in advance over the phone. Again, I was told that I need to come in and place an order at the bar. This is inconvenient. I had to wait about 20 minutes. Management should reconsider this policy.”
“Ran into this place the day before the marathon. Sat at the bar and got recommendations on what to get from the staff. Everything was fantastic. We ended up with calamari, scallops, gnudi, and trilece for dessert. This place was one of the best parts of our trip and we're excited to return. The only thing better than your food is your staff.”

Followed by one guy that I saw, but when I got to the elevators he came to the elevators and another guy was behind him, he did some sign language to the other guy as they slowly walked by as I had just explained to the lady at the elevator I was being followed. I don’t know what they were planning but he definitely looked me in my face as I entered the Renaissance building, as he was already there, then he began to follow me as I saw him every time I looked back over my shoulder. Getting to these elevators are difficult so you have to stop and read the signage and figure out which way to go and he could’ve been gone on his way but No he didn't! I definitely felt uneasy and fearful. I was celebrating my birthday and meeting my niece there. Women be careful!!!!!! The salad was Great! The octopus was just ok, would not order again, the Halibut was bland but fair.”

Our waitress, Brianna was great and we had a great conversation with Derek. He was wonderful. I highly recommend this place. They also have a rooftop and patio dinning.”

The chicken breast was tender enough to cut with a fork. And the mashed potatoes were very tasty and well seasoned. I would recommend this place.”

“We tried the Detroit Pepper Company tonight, first time! We went with the Detroit Stuffed Pepper, beef with parmesan cheese. Very good taste, and huge. We also ordered the Vegan Stuffed Pepper, but we will have to try it tomorrow for lunch...too full from the Detroit Stuffed Pepper! We also tried the lentil bean soup, very nice. And my wife enjoyed the Mango Tastic smoothie:-) We're happy to learn about the Detroit Pepper Company, and we'll be back. Highly recommended. A very clean take-out only place, with good food and a very friendly staff.”

I ordered fish and chips and my fish was overcooked and the french fries were not hot. My friend ordered smelt which were awful and greasy which we sent back. We asked for lemon which never came to the table and our waiter seem to be the only one there and they were busy so I don't think we got the attention that we were due. I know this establishment can do better, so I will be going back. But yesterday's service and food were awful.”

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
We tried the espresso and an herbal tea (chamomile and lavender) — both were delicious and thoughtfully prepared. They also serve decaf coffee espresso.
Outside, there’s a small garden with beautiful trees and flowers where the birds come to sing, making the scenary from the window even more delightful.
Inside, the presence of green plants adds even more charm — making the space feel warmer, more vibrant, and inviting.
The space is filled with natural light, has high ceilings, and features modern, visually pleasing decor.
It feels fresh, airy, and energetically clean — truly an inspiring place to be.

“Oh MAN Rocco's is the place I have searched for in vain until last year when I tried them for the first time. Since that first meatball sub I have had almost every sandwich on the menu and so far not one has disappointed! Today I had the Corner Deli and was transported to Italian paradiso! In case you non-Italians did not know, ciabatta is the Italian baguette and Rocco's bakes many fresh loaves several times per day! Usually it is still warm from the oven even if you get a cold sandwich! There is no better sandwich bread in my progenic-Italian opinion! They are in Midtown on Cass just East of Mack. Try them if you have yet to do so. You will thank the gods!”

“I visited this past Valentine’s Day weekend and visited again this past Saturday night. I didn’t have a reservation but still got seated very quickly. It was a hot, muggy night and the hostess said she had a seat on the patio which I was fine with. I had a magnificent server, Florence, who was kind, thoughtful to recommend a drink to the person I was with and even when our drinks were brought out within a short time, apologized for the delay (which wasn’t necessary). I wish I could give a review on the party next to us because they were extremely rude, not only not giving consideration to others being on the patio but were also incredibly rude to Florence. One woman in particular was grandstanding in front of this group and demanded to speak to a manager. Florence and the Manager were both composed and dignified in spite of a rude patron that was looking to get her bill comped (for a party of nearly a dozen people) going so far as to threatening to have everyone at her table write a terrible review. I have worked in the service industry and so have so many people I know and love so this situation had me worked up and I felt it necessary to write a review that our experience was magnificent. Don’t be an a-hole to servers of any kind just because you’re an a-hole yourself. If you give respect, you get respect. Go to The Sugar House. Be a good customer.”

“This was our second visit to Hamilton’s. Upon arrival back, we were immediately reminded why we rebooked. This time last year, the hotel and restaurant were barely open but still left an incredible impression.
This time around, we were just in time to try the new fall menu - which was texted to us in advance with our reservation confirmation. As part-time vegetarians, I’d had my eye on the lasagna. It just so happened, they had a “taste” of lasagna on the specials menu that evening. The vegetables and pasta were cooked perfectly. With the mushrooms, you didn’t miss the meat - at all. And the béchamel. Oh my goodness.
On the advice of Manager David, we also tried the whole roasted chicken. Holy. Moly. This bird was herb brined, starring rosemary. Juicy, tender, perfection. Crispy skin. The smashed potatoes were just stupidly good. Creamy and crispy perfection.
The food, signature cocktails, and amazing wine selections aside, the true stars of Hamilton’s are the staff. David was ever-present without being over-present. BJ delivered his artistry in libation form flawlessly. And Chef personally delivered the chicken and heard all our feedback. We felt like superstars the entire evening.

Walking in you notice how delicious everything smells, how clean everything is and how friendly everyone who works here is. The food is top notch. The breadding on the catfish fritters made my mouth water, the greens made me want to write home, the mac and cheese was perfectly cooked and the meatloaf was so tender and tasty. Then the dessert! Peach cobbler that made me make obscene noises, the creamy vanilla scoop and the amazing red pop sorbet were bursting with flavorful perfection. I highly recommend going here and trying everything.”

“General PAO chicken was packing the heat but tasty and just the right portion size and flavor. Drinks were forgot the names???but not the taste golden something with ginger liqueur and honey and more….. pomegranate something ( sorry forgot the names) well done but both on signature drink menu. Valet parking available music was good but a bit loud probably enjoyed by younger crowd we have kids all the ages of most we were around great people watching as is the busy city and a tiger game happening all on a Saturday night.
Oh back to the menu our selections not in the favorites or drop down? Photo shows my filet stir fry and I did not get photos of wedge salad w slicedcukes and carrots and sesame and basil very tasty and my hubbys gen PAO. I thoroughly enjoyed our meal date night DELISH fresh hot. Oh almost forgot the beef dumpling appetizer and we paired it with the lemon aioli that normally is served w calamari also a good pick. It was our first time trying so glad we did!!!!”

Absolutely awesome perch with a generous portion. Loved the atmosphere of the old time era. Staff exceptionally friendly as was the owner. Would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to return. What I liked was the minimal breading so you have the true taste of perch. This is by far the place to go if you love perch.”
“We held a 50th birthday party for our daughter in the private room last Saturday evening. The service and the food was extraordinary. We had 50 attendees that included old and not so old. The banquet items were outstanding and the chef did a marvelous job of preparation and presentation. Passed appetizers were a hit with everyone. (I particularly liked the crab cakes) Sheila, Yen, Rex, and Kat provided the beverage service and passed the appetizers and drink orders with smiles and efficiency. While we didn't see much of the kitchen staff, Gil, Emeka, Chaona, and Aaron provided culinary treats that had all the attendees marveling at the variety and taste. And most helpful were Joanna and Paul, the proprietors. Thank you Common Pub for a most memorable evening and event!”

We ordered dressing, ham, mac & cheese, potato salad, and greens. They gave us an order of rolls. Everything was seasoned and flavorful. The mac & cheese was cheesy and delicious. The potato salad was some of the best I’ve had. The ham was juicy and tasty. You could taste the love in the dishes. The girl working found the cook (who also takes the orders) & just happened to be on lunch. I wouldn't have minded waiting if there would've been a little 30 min break sign up or something.
