Gluten-Free Restaurants in Minneapolis, MN

“It's Taco Tuesday and I was craving Mexican food, but I didn't just wanna go to the type of place you think of when "Mexican" is brought up... I'm fancy, so I wanted something a bit more upscale. I did a little bit of research and wouldn't you know it... Colita came up. So here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set south of downtown and a bit west of The Mall of America on Penn Avenue is this gem. There is no private parking lot, but plenty of street parking to leave your fly ride. But once you walk up to the restaurant you can immediately understand the message they're trying to send. Everything looks so modern, straightforward with straight lines, grey colors and light woods. There is a small outdoor section where you can dine if you get lucky enough to land a spot there. Inside carries a very similar style with a little nod to the pueblos and architecture of the southwest. The decor is minimalistic and the "loudest" thing in the room is the live plant wall seated directly behind the bar, which was super cool. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but we had no issues whatsoever. Food/Drink: I was able to try so many different dishes and drinks here and the list is below... 🍹: Xochitl In Love 🍸: La Clandestina 🐟: Tuna Tostada 🌮: Chicken Tinga Tostada 🦪: Seared Scallops 🫓: Tlayuda 🥃: Colita Old Fashioned 🥩: Lamb Barbacoa Tacos 🫔: Duck Tamal However, my favorite things were the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, Duck Tamal and Seared Scallops, in that order. The food here is phenomenal, the drinks are excellently crafted and things are served tapas style so you don't get too full off of just one thing! Order a whole bunch of stuff and share with the table! Value: As I mentioned earlier, I wanted upscale and the priced dddooo reflect that. Lol. This is a nice place so be prepared to spend... Like you're downtown somewhere. In conclusion, I loved this place and I will come back over and over. Check this place out the next time you're in the area!“

“This place blew me away. As a baker with celiac disease, I know how difficult it is to make gluten free goodies airy as a lot of the flours are so dense. But Atuvava nailed it! The bagels were satisfyingly chewy yet still airy, and the crust of the tart was so flaky and delicious. I will 100% be returning every time I visit the area! This is my new favorite gluten free bakery ever.“

“Every time I come here, it's the single most life-changing experience I've ever had. It's been like 15 years since I've been able to have an almond poppy seed muffin and their almond tort is the most delicious thing I've ever tasted in my life. Not only that, but their savory muffin is so mouth wateringly delicious that the taste just lingers in your mouth for hours. I was hooked from the first cinnamon spice muffin, and I stayed for everything in between. Thank you for making my trips to the cities that much better.

My only complaint is that y'all don't take cash and won't make my London Fog an iced London Fog (I've made it, it's possible). Other than that, I'll keep coming here forever.“

“Love this place so much!! Fantastic selection, definitely a shop that knows what they're doing and really care. If you're in it for beer, which is what I know best, it has a solid selection, but not the type of selection you could find elsewhere. However, liquor and wine selections are really great. Lots of great options, solid staff picks, samples and tastings all the time, and really a very nice atmosphere. Posting this spring 2026, and in the past 1-2 years they did some renovating to keep the place fresh and added a walk-in beer cooler for customers which is great! Deli is also very nice and if you're looking to be a little fancy you can find whatever you need for some high class cheese and crackers. Overall great spot thats definitely worth checking out.“

“Amazing food, good service, lovely patio“

“Easily one of my favorite coffee shops in the city, and I have been to most of them! Definitely my favorite in Uptown. Great espresso and specialty drinks, and great smooth cold brew with almost zero acidity. The coffee prices are on the lower end for similar quality coffee in the cities. They do take reusable cups. The homemade poptarts really are amazing and worth coming early for. The vegan options are great, and all of their to-go packaging is compostable. The music is great and audible, and there's plenty of conversation, but nothing is so loud that it can't be silenced by noise-cancelling headphones. There is often quite a line on weekends, but the baristas are friendly, fast, and handle the crowd really well. A lot of people take their coffee to go, so you can usually find a seat even when the line's out the door. They have an all-gender restroom, a place to get water, well-stocked napkins, ample outlets, a little library, etc. Bonus points for the baristas bringing food to folks' tables -- that is never an expectation I have, but I saw it happen consistently even when they were busy. I have nothing critical to say about this place!“

“We were looking for a place for an anniversary brunch, and found this. Great patio seating, view of the lake (we’re going for a walk around the lake when we finish), fantastic food. We split a dish and it was plenty. And they do a refill on drip coffee.

We are 100% satisfied and will return!“

“Rainbow is one of our favorite places! The food is always fresh and delicious. We usually start with the egg rolls and go from there. Tammy and her staff are always wonderful, we especially love sitting at the bar and having a leisurely meal. Highly recommend!“

“Second time here and I love this restaurant!! Atmosphere is so cozy and relaxing, on a slow flow it's a phenomenal experience to eat at. Very dim lighted if that matters to any. Like almost hard to see menu kind of dim but the candle lighting is so personal and inviting in my opinion! Outside sitting is very clean and spacious for their side of the sidewalk, in front of store is less but better for 2 people/wheel chair accessibility.

The food is so high of quality and flavors!! I loved the carrots, steak and oysters!! Best of the East and West side of the ocean and the best slices of steak able to feed 2 adults if looking at a minimum full-like feeling type of starters. It is on the pricier side of dining but such a treat to even be there and experience their foods and services. Will make it a habit to at least eat here once a month or 2!

The parking situation is not too tight on a steady flow day. In front of restaurant, is closer paid-to-park-parking but its best to find parking a block or two a ways for more convenience of paying to park.

Service of the staff are amazing as well!! They have always been attentive and understanding of how our experience is going. Especially when it comes to accommodations and adjustments! Very sweet and patient people, so I can assure quality services!

The only complaint could be the parking and possibly area but again, the restaurant is what you go for and the delicious food!“

“I came here beginning of the month for the first time & was absolutely delightful by the service & bakery items!! The person at the counter was so kind & helpful. The raspberry white chocolate scones & the chocolate chip cappuccino muffins were to die for. I can’t stop thinking about them & need to go back asap! Also the prices were so reasonable 🤗 Can’t wait to make this place part of my regular rotation!!“

“I’ve only visited this place twice, but both experiences were very good. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but the food was good, and the service was surprisingly good, especially considering the price.

You can certainly spend more money at a fancier or more authentic Chinese restaurant, but for the price, I think this place is a solid 5/5 in terms of value.

It’s also conveniently located in Dinkytown, which makes it easy to get to, although parking in the area can be a challenge.

The restaurant doesn’t seem to specialize in spicy food, which may actually be a plus for many people who prefer milder flavors.

I’m going back to this place for sure in the near future, perhaps next week.“

“We live around the corner so I go here far too often. Lots of delicious food to choose from and the staff are always great! It’s rare to have to wait to be seated which is nice. The stuffed pretzel is worth the calories, their rootbeer is amazing, the fries are crack (breaded so extra crunch), sandwiches are all pretty good, & love their ranch dressing lol. My only critique is their buffalo sauce for the wings needs more acidic “tang”“

“In Fargo, service is not great. i had one bite of my meal and told waiter he could take it. He never asked why, if anything was wrong, just grabbed it and walked away. I wasn't expecting anything other than for him to know why my meal was not hardly touched. He never came back to table until he brought us the bill.“

“The bread here is under rated. Unlike a lot of places in town where it feels like the bread is made for looks, the bread here tastes like it's been tested to be eaten with soups and sandwiches or just butter.

“I had a long layover at Minneapolis airport so I odered from Vitali's on Doordash. The food was excelent and got a here very quickly. I had a personal eggplant pizza and it was really good and flavorful. The texture was still great even though I was not eating it totally fresh. I would highly recommend them!“
