“It's Taco Tuesday and I was craving Mexican food, but I didn't just wanna go to the type of place you think of when "Mexican" is brought up... I'm fancy, so I wanted something a bit more upscale. I did a little bit of research and wouldn't you know it... Colita came up. So here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set south of downtown and a bit west of The Mall of America on Penn Avenue is this gem. There is no private parking lot, but plenty of street parking to leave your fly ride. But once you walk up to the restaurant you can immediately understand the message they're trying to send. Everything looks so modern, straightforward with straight lines, grey colors and light woods. There is a small outdoor section where you can dine if you get lucky enough to land a spot there. Inside carries a very similar style with a little nod to the pueblos and architecture of the southwest. The decor is minimalistic and the "loudest" thing in the room is the live plant wall seated directly behind the bar, which was super cool. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but we had no issues whatsoever. Food/Drink: I was able to try so many different dishes and drinks here and the list is below... 🍹: Xochitl In Love 🍸: La Clandestina 🐟: Tuna Tostada 🌮: Chicken Tinga Tostada 🦪: Seared Scallops 🫓: Tlayuda 🥃: Colita Old Fashioned 🥩: Lamb Barbacoa Tacos 🫔: Duck Tamal However, my favorite things were the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, Duck Tamal and Seared Scallops, in that order. The food here is phenomenal, the drinks are excellently crafted and things are served tapas style so you don't get too full off of just one thing! Order a whole bunch of stuff and share with the table! Value: As I mentioned earlier, I wanted upscale and the priced dddooo reflect that. Lol. This is a nice place so be prepared to spend... Like you're downtown somewhere. In conclusion, I loved this place and I will come back over and over. Check this place out the next time you're in the area!“

“My girlfriend who isn’t GF loves this just as much as her fav non-GF bakeries in the city. Just go here and try it and you will be coming back all the time lol

Some suggestions for management:
- if there could be more DF options that would be awesome.
- being open on Sunday’s would also be awesome and I feel like it would be the busiest day of the week with people getting baked goods for the week“

“Found this place on Google maps while waiting for my son to finish up an activity. Super cute local bakery with a great selection. Prices are very reasonable - ranging from $2 ‐ $4 for most items. I went at 11:30 on a Thursday and they were sold out of about half of their items so i wouls suggest going earlier. I really enjoyed the savory pastry and the scones.“

“Easily one of my favorite coffee shops in the city, and I have been to most of them! Definitely my favorite in Uptown. Great espresso and specialty drinks, and great smooth cold brew with almost zero acidity. The coffee prices are on the lower end for similar quality coffee in the cities. They do take reusable cups. The homemade poptarts really are amazing and worth coming early for. The vegan options are great, and all of their to-go packaging is compostable. The music is great and audible, and there's plenty of conversation, but nothing is so loud that it can't be silenced by noise-cancelling headphones. There is often quite a line on weekends, but the baristas are friendly, fast, and handle the crowd really well. A lot of people take their coffee to go, so you can usually find a seat even when the line's out the door. They have an all-gender restroom, a place to get water, well-stocked napkins, ample outlets, a little library, etc. Bonus points for the baristas bringing food to folks' tables -- that is never an expectation I have, but I saw it happen consistently even when they were busy. I have nothing critical to say about this place!“

“Lovely place and owners. Had a Bauru, an outstanding steak sandwich, named after my hometown in Brazil. The brigadeiro cake was delicious, perfectly balanced with a scoop of raspberry sorbet. Thank you, Kalinka and team. It was a beautiful taste of home.“

“We absolutely love Rainbow Chinese! The food is always fresh and delicious. My go-to quick comfort food is their warm sesame noodles. My partner enjoys their General Tso’s Chicken every time. The restaurant itself is beautiful and I love seeing the fish in the tank when we dine in (but the food is also hot and packed great if you get to go). This place clearly has been created with love!“

“We recently tried Heather’s Pies for the first time and picked up the pies on our way home from the hospital after having a child. Heather’s pies were delicious and her customer service was exceptional! She even gave us one of the pies for free as a congratulations gift to our family! The overall experience was second to none and we highly recommend!“

“My friend and I showed up at around 10:40 PM. We love that they're open until midnight- perfect for a snack and a drink or two after a movie, say. Their Thai coffee is less cloyingly sweet than most, and their pommes frites are all business. The slice of carrot cake is colossal, and also more subtle than most. The warm woodwork and Tiffany lamps make for amazing ambience, whether you're shmoozing a date or debating a movie with friends. An old favorite!“

“We were looking for a place for an anniversary brunch, and found this. Great patio seating, view of the lake (we’re going for a walk around the lake when we finish), fantastic food. We split a dish and it was plenty. And they do a refill on drip coffee.

We are 100% satisfied and will return!“

“Love this place so much!! Fantastic selection, definitely a shop that knows what they're doing and really care. If you're in it for beer, which is what I know best, it has a solid selection, but not the type of selection you could find elsewhere. However, liquor and wine selections are really great. Lots of great options, solid staff picks, samples and tastings all the time, and really a very nice atmosphere. Posting this spring 2026, and in the past 1-2 years they did some renovating to keep the place fresh and added a walk-in beer cooler for customers which is great! Deli is also very nice and if you're looking to be a little fancy you can find whatever you need for some high class cheese and crackers. Overall great spot thats definitely worth checking out.“

“Everything was obviously freshly prepared with complex flavors, crisp vegetables and tender chicken. Entrees are very generous so one was plenty with an appetizer for two. Our waiter was also very helpful and pleasant. Mai Thai is a hidden gem in Robbinsdale.“

“We live around the corner so I go here far too often. Lots of delicious food to choose from and the staff are always great! It’s rare to have to wait to be seated which is nice. The stuffed pretzel is worth the calories, their rootbeer is amazing, the fries are crack (breaded so extra crunch), sandwiches are all pretty good, & love their ranch dressing lol. My only critique is their buffalo sauce for the wings needs more acidic “tang”“

“Wow! Some of the best crepes I’ve had in a long time. Thin, a hint of crispy, good ham and cheese. Be sure to get a sunny side egg on the ham and cheese or the complete. A perfect delightful lunch. One 1️⃣ f the dryer ciders is a perfect pairing for what I had. A perfect lunch time surprise and some nice demonstration of care in creating these treats.“

“Amazing food. Amazing staff. Amazing vibes. My family went here to celebrate the anniversary of my Tita's passing. Roast duck, sea food pan fried noodles, slow fish, oyster and roast pork hot pot, sea food and tofu soup, and Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce. Everything was delicious! 10/10 highly recommend“

“This bakery was such a wonderful find! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I got the ginger molasses cookie, which was huge and perfectly soft with amazing flavor. I also tried the carrot cake cupcake, and it was truly to die for—moist, flavorful, and one of the best I’ve had. The slice of key lime pie and the raspberry rhubarb pie were both fantastic as well.

What really impressed me was the variety they offer. They had everything from fresh breads, cakes, cookies, muffins, and coffee to a convenient grab-and-go lunch section. It felt like no matter what you were craving, they had it.

The bakery was inviting, well-stocked, and full of tempting treats. It was hard to choose just a few things! Everything we purchased was fresh and delicious, and I can already tell this will be a place I return to again and again. Highly recommend stopping in—you won’t leave empty-handed!“

“Awesome breakfast place! I love walking here and grabbing coffee, quiche, or my fav is the huevos rancheros. I dream about it! (I recommend adding chorizo) It’s such a community/neighborhood feel to it and it will be one of the most missed places if I were ever to move away. Such an awesome open space! Yes parking can be tough but who cares it’s the cities.“

“In Fargo, service is not great. i had one bite of my meal and told waiter he could take it. He never asked why, if anything was wrong, just grabbed it and walked away. I wasn't expecting anything other than for him to know why my meal was not hardly touched. He never came back to table until he brought us the bill.“

“I've been going here for decades for their wholesome tasty breads. Dakota is my favorite and I often add a sweetbread from their rotating seasonal offerings. I also treat myself to one cookie (salted caramel is my favorite) to savor on the drive home.“
