“The food was good but portions quite small for the price. (The half chicken was more of a quarter chicken.). The atmosphere is nice. If there are charges on my bill for items I never asked for and never received, then I am going to give you a maximum 3 for service - and thats what happened. (Reminder: always check your bills. Always. These days it seems like at least half of my dinner bills have incorrect items added.). Hostesses were very nice.“

“Came here for Monday lunch. Food was good but not amazing. But the service was very slow. Ordered the standard lunch prefix menu (app, main, dessert) and ended up spending almost 2 hours, mostly in waiting, not what I would expect from lunches.“

“We first heard about Tony’s on Jon Barr’s YouTube channel (prepping for our first NYC visit). Can only say that this is the perfect spot to get food, and then go eat it in Central Park.

Both times we visited the food was great, staff was very friendly & we received our orders within a couple of minutes.

“My friend and I had the most gorgeous dinner at Gaia last Tuesday. We ordered a fantastic Piniot Nior followed by Organic chicken and potatoes with a side of spinach. My friend had steak, all cooked perfectly. The restaurant had a warm and welcome atmosphere. Conveniently located next to the hotel we where staying in, the Gregorian.“

“I love Pi I enjoy getting my Greek frappe and other coffees from Pi. The pastries are exceptional and if you want to have lunch, you can also have fantastic Greek dishes. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the coffees and food that they serve. I go to Pi every time I’m in that neighborhood.“

“For those with taste buds that were refined summering in Greece for many years, the taste of the souvlaki pita is unmistakably familiar. Warm pita break, pork pieces cut small, just the right amount of tzatziki, and, of course, French fries. The only question that remains is whether to order two, or go directly for three. “Truth is I'm not a big fan of Greek food but hubby is. My dinner was eh, while he said his was OK, not great. The grape leaves were delicious and the baklava was devine. Hubby wanted beer but it was all sold out 2 days ago at Easter and the new delivery was late. He also wanted the rice pudding for dessert but that was also sold out. From the octopus appy & feta dip , to all entrees was so delicious, especially the seafood pasta dish . The balaclava was to die for …. “The food here was very good, but the service was very slow. They felt understaffed vs the number of customers in the restaurant.

One minor annoyance is that they don't provide enough pitas to fully enjoy their dip platter. You'll likely have to order more separately, and they charge for each pita, which feels like nickeling and diming. The dips themselves are delicious, though.“

“A solid little lunch spot that sells bowls, pita, and other Greek items. They offer adding for each item - for a bowl, you can have two sides (such as rice, potatoes, beans, or chickpea salad). You then choose a protein, which can be gyro or souvlaki or Greek meatballs, and they also offer falafel as a vegetarian option. Next you get to choose free toppings which is vegetables like olives, cucumber, tomatoes, but also feta cheese. Finally you get some dips, and a sauce. The dips comprise of usual Greek dips such as hummus and tzatziki, and then sauces are white sauce, garlic sauce, tahini. Overall this is fresh food, and while the prices are slightly high the serving sizes are hearty and tasty.“

“Yasouvlaki was an amazing discovery just from walking on the street. Greek cuisine uses lots ingredients that require perfect balance, otherwise flavors can be too strong and can overwhelm your palate missing the Mediterranean experience.

The spreads are amazing, but I want to particularly praise the tzatziki, perfect amount of garlic, smooth and enjoyable aftertaste; and also the taramosalata, round flavors with perfect measure on the fish taste.

My fave was the grilled octopus, AMAZING option! Octopus is challenging, you overcook it and it turns rubbery. This one was almost buttery, sweet, bold and balanced flavor combined with the bitterness of the fennel, the acidity of the cherry tomatoes, he high notes from capers and the sweetness from baby potatoes, it was so far the beat grilled octopus I’ve had in NYC.“

“This is my dream diner. Breakfast is my favorite meal and Madison delivers. Many other reviewers complained about the prices. The prices may be slightly higher ($2-$3?) than other places but you get what you pay for. First, the place is immaculate. Everything shines like a mirror. Second, the food is cooked by a certain kind of professional. I'll compare to another cafe nearby that offers a load of grease with your food. Not here. My hash browns were crispy, fluffy, perfect. Eggs, again perfection. The coffee was not as good as it could be (Lavazza please), but more than drinkable. I'm thinking of moving to NYC. “I found it to be an interesting place. Particularly as a man of color. I found that they really didn't want me there, but places us at the bar although there was many tables available. We made the best of it. Whats interesting is that they made us wait about 30 minutes although then I called hours earlier they said a reservation was not necessary for groups under 4.“

“Found this place on a snowy evening at 10:45pm. The very Greek owner was sitting at a table enjoying some souvlaki. When we came he greeted us like we were stopping in for dinner at his house.

Food was fantastic.

The chicken gyros were made in house and cut off the spit.

Im a sucker for the beef lamb American style gyro. It was great. On a platter paired with lemon potatoes.

My son went for the chicken gyro. It was homemade in house cut of the spit. Delicious. Flavorful.

My daughter wanted avagolemeno. When she mentioned it was her favorite soup he yelled back to kitchen to give everyone soups to try. It was such og Greek reataurant move-again like you were over his house for dinner. It was the best we've had.

The best part was the prices-very fair for manahatten. I mentioned how good the prices were and he said he tries to give the nearby hostipal rank and file a nice place to eat at a reasonable price.
