“Kyma is a consistently excellent restaurant in every way. I am there often with my wife and with friends for both lunch and dinner and it is always a terrific dining experience. The food and service are excellent and the environment is warm and welcoming. The prices are reasonable and the portions are substantial. I come from the Upper East Side and friends come from Staten Island because it is well worth the trip. At this particular visit, our server was Kim and she was wonderful. She was responsive, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and friendly. It was easy to tell that she was an experienced hospitality professional. Thanks, Kim! You were great!“

“IRIS is a gem for a pre-theatre dinner or an ambient dinner with a special date. The pre-theatre menu is a must as it offers an appetizer, an entree, and dessert. The octopus was delicious and the lemon sauce with it was something to brag about. Now on to the Pastitsio. What a revelation! The presentation and the flamed brandy drizzled over was beautiful. The delicious meat and cheese were succulent. The Branzino is a close second. The Baba for desert is a delicious send off and not too sweet. The staff is warm and welcoming. It opens at 4 on Saturdays and the dining room gets full around 5:30. We went at 4. Sometimes lots of people make the food taste a little better so go at 5 and after. Overall, IRIS passes the eye AND taste test with flying colors!“

“Finally! A delicious traditional lamb gyro! These are surprisingly hard to find in Manhattan. I’ve been craving a traditional gyro for a while but didn’t want to drive 1-2 hours roundtrip from Manhattan to Astoria/Queens. This place hit the spot and I would return!“

“The moussaka is the best I have ever had by a landslide and one of my favorite dishes ever. I have ordered it probably 100 times and it never disappoints. The gigantes are scrumptious. Better of either those dishes would not be found in Greece. The atmosphere is simple because this isn't a fancy restaurant, but it is pleasant.“

“Whoa! The food was amazing! Im pescatarian, so I had the fish, and it was delicious. Everything was so fresh. There was a humus plate with 3 different flavors, and the cucumbers were beautifully decorated around them. I must have eaten all of the cucumbers. In some restaurants, a fresh cucumber can be hard to come by. The fish arrived on a bed sautéed spinach, WOW ❤️❤️. The sliced pita bread with the humus was addictive. I definitely ate way more than I should have. While I dont eat meat, the other folks I was dining with said the chicken and beef options were just as delicious. It was family style, so we had lots of options. The restaurant is small but quaint, and the customer service was amazing. The food came out quickly, and there were about 13 of us. We had a reservation for 1 pm on a Thursday, and it was not crowded.

There isn't a lot of space to move around, so I would be conscious of carrying large bags or strollers.“

“I never leave reviews, but this place really impressed me! Pappas New York has incredible Greek food — the lamb chops were tender and full of flavor, and the lobster pasta was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was great, and the staff went above and beyond. Especially Joni, who took amazing care of our table last Saturday — super attentive, professional and friendly the whole night. Don't want to forget the sparkling guy Jerry, he was amazing. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in New York!“

The wait was a bit long though, almost 25+ minutes just to get to order, and sometimes other people (I assume related) just cut in to throw in 5 or 10 other orders. The food came out very fast at least and I enjoyed my bowl. I see they have an online ordering site, so I may try that next time to reduce the wait. Would love to try the other items.“

“We came here on a recommendation from a good friend. We were on-time for our reservation but had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. Another party that had a reservation at the same time as us, received notification from the restaurant that their reservation was running late. We did not receive a notification from the restaurant. The restaurant does not have a waiting area, it is a very tight space. The owner told us to wait outside , which wasn't nice... it was cold and they should have a waiting area. They could have one if they moved some furniture around. Once seated the food and service were excellent. The dining area was very tight and the music was too loud , we were unable to hear each other across the table. We like to enjoy our company/conversation. This was very difficult. We eat out a lot in NYC but we won't be coming back here.“

The service was friendly and the place feels cozy, nothing fancy but nice quality. I also tried the baklava since they didn’t have cheesecake that day. It was okay, maybe 6/10, not something I’d order again. But for sure, if you come here, get the chicken cheeseburger with fries , that’s the real highlight“

“Food is really good! Comparably priced to most of the fast casual restaurants in midtown area. Got the Piato both times, and the potatoes are great as a base. Chicken is crispy and nice, and the Bambi and Greek Salads are fire. Service is really really good too, and personally get a kick out of the door to the basement being covered by the trash can lol.

I once had something pop up immediately after picking up my greek salad there, and only had a chance to eat 7 hours later, after it had turned into a soggy mess. You know what: IT STILL BANGED! “This is my dream diner. Breakfast is my favorite meal and Madison delivers. Many other reviewers complained about the prices. The prices may be slightly higher ($2-$3?) than other places but you get what you pay for. First, the place is immaculate. Everything shines like a mirror. Second, the food is cooked by a certain kind of professional. I'll compare to another cafe nearby that offers a load of grease with your food. Not here. My hash browns were crispy, fluffy, perfect. Eggs, again perfection. The coffee was not as good as it could be (Lavazza please), but more than drinkable. I'm thinking of moving to NYC. Now I'm looking near The Madison as I'll spend most of my mornings there.“
